Post-Debate Poll Shows NO CHANGE, Despite Trump Absence.

A post-debate poll from Morning Consult shows former President Trump losing no ground after the declining to participate in the first Republican primary debate earlier this week. According to the poll, Trump’s position remains unchanged with 58 percent support among the Republican electorate before the debate and 58 percent support after. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis comes in a distant 2nd place with only 14 percent support – also unchanged from before the debate.

The only two candidates seeing any shift in support were tech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy and former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie. Both candidates saw a one percent bump in support, polling at 11 percent and four percent post-debate respectively.

Morning Consult quizzed over 1,256 potential Republican primary voters, with an unweighted margin of error of up to +/-3 percentage points.

In Donald Trump’s absence, Ramaswamy was the candidate who appeared to garner the most press attention. The energetic debater traded barbs with nearly every candidate on stage – having especially heated exchanges with former Governor Christie, former Vice President Mike Pence, and former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley. At least one betting odds bookmaker has Ramaswamy now as the 2nd place favorite for the Republican presidential nomination following his debate performance.

The Morning Consult poll offers little in the way of good news for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. Ramaswamy is now only three points back from over taking the Florida Governor for second place. The trend does not bode well for the Florida Governor’s campaign, with several polls over the past two weeks showing the tech entrepreneur and political neophyte Ramaswamy having already pushed DeSantis out of 2nd place contention for the nomination.

Trump PAC Trolls GOP Debate With Microsite Asking Who Should Be VP?

Make America Great Again, Inc. launched a new microsite today calling tomorrow’s Republican Presidential Debate in Milwaukee, Wisconsin the “2024 Vice Presidential Debate” and encouraging visitors to participate in a poll for Donald Trump’s 2024 running mate.

As of publication, the Ohio businessman Vivek Ramaswamy holds a lead at 48 percent, with Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) in a distant second with 14 percent, Chris Christie on 11 percent, and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis tied with Mike Pence on just eight points.

Accompanying each candidate is a statement of support for former President Trump that they have each made in the past.

Several of the Republican presidential hopefuls – including Ron DeSantis, Chris Christie, Asa Hutchinson, and Mike Pence – have resorted to increasingly negative attacks on the former President as he continues to dominate the field for the Republican nomination.

Trump has declined to participate in the first Republican debate. His campaign argues that the primary is essentially over and that the debate would only become a media spectacle with all of the other candidates focused on attacking him alone in a desperate effort to gain traction amongst donors.

Minorities Dump Biden Over ‘Pathetic’ Economy & Ukraine First Mentality.

Minority voters, long considered some of the most loyal supporters of the Democratic Party, are expressing anger at President Joe Biden according to a new Future Track Focus Group conducted by HIT Strategies, a left-wing market research firm. The group said they were discouraged and and pessimistic about about the Biden government’s handling of the U.S. economy – with one participant calling the state of the economy “pathetic.”

One participant, who identified as an Asian American and Pacific Islander, vented his frustration with the high level of economic uncertainty and lack of clarity from the Biden White House: “They’re kind of like saying that there possibly is going to be a soft landing, but they’re also expecting a recession of some sorts. It’s kind of a mixed message.”

The state of the economy, however, wasn’t the only problem participants had with President Biden. A Hispanic respondent indicated his disagreement with the Biden regime’s financial support of Ukraine, stating: “Our economy is the lowest it’s been in god knows how long. We keep sending money to Ukraine and other countries rather than helping ourselves.”

Responses from the focus group are indicative of a concerning trend for Biden’s 2024 re-election campaign as he is likely to face-off against the previous occupant of the White House, Donald Trump – the current Republican presidential front-runner. A recent AP poll found that only 36 percent of Americans approve of the Biden economy. Overall approval for President Biden trended just slightly higher at 42 percent.

At least one participant in the focus group indicated an openness to switching his vote from Biden to Trump:

I don’t feel like Democrats really have my back or Republicans, you know? I think as a president, you only have so much power. I mean, unless you’re someone like Trump to where he just — he really didn’t care. He did what he wanted to do… Trump got in there and he changed stuff.

Several recent national polls have shown former President Trump gaining an edge over Joe Biden in the 2024 presidential contest. An August 7th Premise poll has Trump leading Biden by a 7 point margin with 41 percent of the vote to Biden’s 34 percent.

Everybody Hates Chris (Christie).

Everybody hates Chris Christie. Well, almost everybody, according to a new poll that shows the presidential candidate has almost no constituency anywhere in the nation.

Just 24 percent of Republicans surveyed have a favorable opinion of him compared to 57 percent who view him unfavorably. Among Democrats, Christie gleans 22 percent favorability and 60 percent view him unfavorably. The margin amongst independent voters was 17 percent to 46 percent.

Christie’s favorability amongst urban, suburban, and rural voters all trended in the low 20s, while his unfavorable rating ranged from 54 to 60 percent. Among key racial demographics things did not improve, with former Governor Christie with White voters saying they saw Christie as favorable 24 percent to 57 percent unfavorable, Black voters rated him 19 percent favorable to 48 percent unfavorable, and Hispanic voters came in at 16 percent favorable to 55 percent unfavorable.

Yet, the former New Jersey Governor has begun to eat Ron DeSantis’s lunch in New Hampshire, with no signs of the feast abating.

GOP Strategists Admit They’ll Lose Elections Across America if Trump is NOT the Candidate.

“If somehow he’s not the nominee, it will hurt turnout,” admits GOP strategist Brian Darling of former President Donald J. Trump.

“He’s got a unique coalition. He brings a lot of nontraditional voters to the Republican Party, and it will be difficult to win a state like Ohio if you lose all those Trump voters or make them disaffected voters, and they don’t show up,” Darling added.

The jarring comments – as well as the national polling – both fly in the face of claims made from Trump’s primary opponents, that a Republican candidate other that Trump would have an easier time beating Biden or another Democrat nominee in 2024.

Specifically, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and his team have repeatedly made the claims that Trump cannot win the 2024 presidential election. At the same time, officials with DeSantis’s ‘Never Back Down’ PAC have called Trump backers “degenerates” and worse.

“The conventional wisdom is there’s concern that if Trump’s not the nominee, his coalition will take their ball and go home,” added Republican strategist Matt Dole.

The claims are confirmed by Pew Research Center analysis, which shows Republican 2022 midterm election victories were down to higher turnout amongst MAGA voters. In other words: without Trump, there would currently be a Democrat-controlled House of Representatives.

Presidential Candidate Francis Suarez Tells Himself To Drop Out?

Miami Mayor and presidential hopeful Francis Suarez called on candidates who don’t make the August 23rd debate stage to drop out, adding: “I agree that if you can’t meet the minimum thresholds, you shouldn’t be trying to take the time involved away from being productive.” Suarez himself has not yet met all of the qualifications to make the debate stage.

The Republican National Committee (RNC) requires that presidential primary candidates meet a 40,000 donor threshold – a condition that Suarez says he met on August 7th –  however, candidates are also required to “[p]oll at least 1% in three national polls OR 1% in two national polls AND 1% in one early state poll from two separate “carve out” states (Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, South Carolina) recognized by the RNC.” Candidates must present evidence of having met each requirement to the RNC no later than 48 hours before the debate is set to begin. As of publication, Suarez has not met the polling requirement.

DeSantis ‘Proud’ to Receive Endorsement from Steve Deace, Who Wanted Hillary to Beat Trump.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has accepted an endorsement that most Republican candidates might try to downplay or even outright avoid – Iowa Evangelical talk-radio host Steve Deace, who openly attempted to lose Republicans the 2016 election, paving the way for a Hillary Clinton America.

During the 2016 Republican presidential primary, Deace began as an early backer of U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-Tx). When the Cruz campaign – run by Jeff Roe who is now the top political guru for Team DeSantis – failed to defeat the eventual Republican nominee and 2016 presidential winner Donald Trump, Deace openly opposed Trump’s general election campaign, going so far as to say that between Trump and Hillary Clinton, “I don’t really care who wins.”

Following Trump securing the Republican nomination for President in 2016, Deace declared that he was leaving the Republican Party and joining the NeverTrump movement. In a now deleted Conservative Review column, Deace scolded conservatives for supporting Donald Trump:

And spare me your sanctimonious rambling about, ‘but if he’s the nominee we have to vote for him or Hillary will win. First of all, most of the thumb-suckers saying this have sat on the sidelines during this primary process, refusing to get their hands dirty doing everything they could to stop the GOP from nominating another sure-fire progressive loser/betrayer once more.

Deace’s rant continued with:

Now we’re talking about attaching our brand to an unrepentant serial liar and adulterer that has clearly demonstrated during his 70 years on this planet he stands for nothing but himself.

And as we’ve reached the apex of this primary it’s become abundantly clear that Trump is who his detractors always said he was, and is taking advantage of every negative stereotype the left has of conservatives to excel in this race. Everything he touches becomes corrupted and distorted.

Right before the November 2016 presidential election Deace encouraged Utah voters to support former CIA spook, Deep State defender, and third party candidate Evan McMullin for President.

Republicans voting for third parties over Trump would certainly have handed Hillary Clinton the White House.

FEC Tells DeSantis 29% of His Donations Can’t Be Used in GOP Primary.

Ron DeSantis’s presidential campaign has been informed by the Federal Election Commission (FEC) that $2.6 million of his donations have been incorrectly labeled for use in the presidential primary, and must instead be only used for general election funds. This strips almost another 30 percent of campaign cash away from the Florida Governor’s coffers, already threatened by overspending and a drying up of donations.

The financial state of Ron DeSantis’s presidential campaign has many political observers wondering if the Florida Governor can even make it to the Iowa Caucuses in January.

According to FEC data, the DeSantis campaign had just over $9 million cash-on-hand at the beginning of July. However, the FEC letter detailing the incorrectly labeled donations also showed that actual cash-on-hand number was much lower, around $6.6 million – and there are some indications that the number may yet be even lower than that.

The lack of cash only compounds the set backs the DeSantis campaign has suffered over the past few weeks, culminating in the demotion of campaign manager Generra Peck on Tuesday, who is replaced by a 35-year-old Rubio-world lawyer who has never run a political campaign before.
