GOP Proposes Bill to Feature Charlie Kirk on Silver Dollar.

PULSE POINTS

❓WHAT HAPPENED: Two House Republicans plan to introduce a bill to mint a commemorative coin honoring Turning Point USA (TPUSA) founder Charlie Kirk after his assassination.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Representatives August Pfluger (R-TX) and Abe Hamadeh (R-AZ).

📍WHEN & WHERE: The bill is expected to be introduced later this week, following Kirk’s assassination at a Utah Valley University campus event earlier in September.

đź’¬KEY QUOTE: “His life must be commemorated, and this coin will allow us to pass a reminder of his remarkable life on to generations to come.” – Rep Abe Hamadeh

🎯IMPACT: If passed, Kirk would become the youngest American to appear on U.S. currency, cementing his legacy.

IN FULL

House Republicans August Pfluger (R-TX) and Abe Hamadeh (R-AZ) are introducing legislation to honor assassinated Turning Point USA (TPUSA) founder Charlie Kirk with a commemorative silver dollar coin. The bill would authorize the U.S. Treasury to mint 400,000 silver dollars featuring Kirk’s image on one side and the words “Well done, good and faithful servant” on the other. The Treasury Secretary would determine the final design in consultation with President Donald J. Trump.

“Since 1892, Congress has authorized commemorative coins to celebrate and honor historic American patriots,” Hamadeh said. Calling Kirk an “American treasure,” he said Kirk “tirelessly sacrificed his time, energy, and money to save this nation for future generations.” Hamadeh added, “Ultimately, at the hands of a radical leftist, he sacrificed his life. His life must be commemorated, and this coin will allow us to pass a reminder of his remarkable life on to generations to come.”

If passed, the bill would make Kirk, who was 31 when he was assassinated, the youngest person ever featured on U.S. currency. Federal law prohibits living people from being depicted on American coins or bills, limiting the honor to those who have passed.

Pfluger said the coin would serve as a “fitting honor that cements his extraordinary legacy alongside presidents and founding fathers who shaped our republic.” He added, “Charlie Kirk was a conservative titan whose transformational impact on millions of Americans deserves permanent recognition alongside our nation’s greatest leaders and influential figures.”

Kirk’s death has sparked several tributes, with Sinclair Broadcasting Group announcing it would preempt Jimmy Kimmel Live! across its ABC affiliates to air a televised tribute to Kirk after criticizing Kimmel for “deeply insensitive” remarks about the assassination.

Turning Point USA has also vowed to continue its “American Comeback Tour” in Kirk’s honor. At upcoming events, an empty chair will be left on stage in his memory, and his widow, Erika Kirk, has been named Chairwoman and CEO of the organization.

Abe Hamadeh Defeats Blake Masters in Arizona Primary.

Abe Hamadeh has defeated Blake Masters in Arizona‘s 8th Congressional District Republican primary. A former Maricopa County prosecutor, Hamadeh narrowly lost the state’s 2022 Attorney General race by under 300 votes to Democrat Kris Mayes. In the 8th Congressional District, Hamadeh fought through a contentious primary to win by a few thousand votes over Masters.

Just days before the primary, former President Donald J. Trump endorsed both Hamadeh and Masters as the preferred MAGA movement candidates. Meanwhile, there were concerns that a last-minute surge by Trump-skeptical Arizona State House Speaker Ben Toma could result in an upset in the race.

In his endorsement of both candidates—posted to his Truth Social platform on Sunday—former President Trump said: “In Congress, we need a true Warrior who will work tirelessly with us to Grow our Economy, Stop Inflation, Secure our Border, End Migrant Crime, Support our Great Military/Vets, and Protect our always under siege Second Amendment.”

Polling in the district suggested the primary would be a tight and hard-fought race, with both Hamadeh and Masters trading leads in several surveys. In the unofficial results as of publication, however, Hamadeh finished with 29.83 percent to Masters’s 25.32 percent. Toma came in a close third with 21.23, while former Congressman Trent Franks (R-AZ) finished in fourth place with 16.54 percent.

EXC: Trump Pollster Shows Blake Masters Surging Ahead of Hamadeh in AZ Congressional Race.

New polling data seen exclusively by The National Pulse shows technology entrepreneur and former U.S. Senate candidate Blake Masters pushing a double-digit lead over Abe Hamadeh in Arizona‘s 8th Congressional District Republican primary. The primary election, which has drawn a crowded field, will see voters head to the polls on July 30.

In January this year, polling from Trump-world pollster Fabrizio, Lee & Associates found Masters and Hamadeh in a tight race, tied at 24 percent. However, their new May poll shows Masters now well ahead at 28 percent to Hamadeh’s 16 percent.

The January survey found Masters’s favorability among Republican voters at 47 percent, while Hamadeh’s was 38 percent. Since then, Masters has increased his favorability to 56 percent, with just 24 percent holding an unfavorable view. Hamadeh, on the other hand, has seen his favorability drop to 34 percent, with 23 percent saying they view him unfavorably.

MASTERS ADS HIT HAMADEH.

Hamadeh’s decline in popularity may be directly tied to a series of political ads run by the Masters campaign that highlights the former Attorney General candidate’s support for a myriad of pet liberal issues. The ad alleges Hamadeh’s support for amnesty, the claim that his parents were illegal immigrants, his ostensible support for abortion, and a strange claim allegedly made by Hamadeh that “America was founded on Islamic principles.”

“This poll shows voters see the truth clearly: I am the strongest candidate, the most MAGA candidate, and the strongest supporter of President Trump,” Blake Masters told The National Pulse. He continued: “This race is all about who’s going to have Trump’s back and actually stop illegal immigration? And that is clearly me, not my opponent. We’re going to keep the pedal to the metal and finish this race strong.”

Among the other candidates, former Representative Trent Franks (R-AZ) — who held the Arizona 8th Congressional District from 2003 to 2017 — sits just behind Hamadeh at 14 percent in May’s Fabrizio, Lee & Associates poll. Ben Toma, who was once considered a serious contender for the nomination, only musters eight percent support. With Masters now out to a healthy lead and former Rep. Franks gaining momentum, Hamadeh could soon slip into third place in the race with just two months before voters head to the polls.

“This race has changed over the past four months, as Masters has become the clear frontrunner,” said Tony Fabrizio, principal at Fabrizio, Lee & Associates.

Before entering politics, Masters was a close colleague of billionaire tech entrepreneur Peter Thiel. Masters served as the Thiel Foundation’s president and the chief operating officer for Thiel’s investment operation, Thiel Capital. Abe Hamadeh, meanwhile, was the 2022 Republican candidate for Arizona Attorney General and a former prosecutor in the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.

Former US Senate Candidate Blake Masters Running For Congress in Arizona’s 8th.

Venture capitalist and former U.S. Senate candidate Blake Masters has announced he intends to seek the Republican nomination for Arizona’s 8th Congressional District. The deeply conservative Arizona seat in the U.S. House of Representatives is currently held by Rep. Debbie Lesko, a Republican, who has announced she will retire at the end of her term.

Prior to entering politics, Masters was a close colleague of billionaire tech-entrepreneur Peter Thiel. Masters served as the president of the Thiel Foundation and as the chief operating office for Thiel’s investment operation, Thiel Capital.

Masters won a divisive Republican primary for one of Arizona’s U.S. Senate seats in 2022, despite his opponents engaging in negative campaigns against him. Facing an uphill battle against popular incumbent Democrat Senator Mark Kelly, Masters received significant backing from both Thiel and former President Donald Trump. Masters ultimately lost to Sen. Kelly in the November general election. Kelly, a former NASA astronaut, is the husband of former Arizona Congresswoman Gabby Giffords – who was nearly killed by a drug-addled, anti-Christian, anti-government conspiracy theorist named Jared Loughner at a campaign event in January of 2011. Six people attending the Giffords event were killed by Loughner.

Abe Hamadeh, the 2022 Republican candidate for Arizona Attorney General and a former prosecutor in the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, is also expected to enter the Republican primary to replace Congresswoman Lesko. Early polling on the race indicates it is currently a toss up. A National Public Affairs poll hows Hamadeh up over Masters 31 to 24 percent. Ben Toma, who serves as the Speaker of Arizona’s State House of Representatives, comes in third place with just 11 percent. However, a Masters campaign internal poll by Data Orbital shows Masters ahead of Hamadeh by 15 points, with 33 percent to Hamadeh’s 18. Toma again comes in third with just 7 percent support.
