Supreme Court Weighs Gutting Planned Parenthood’s Govt Funding.

PULSE POINTS:

What Happened: The U.S. Supreme Court is deliberating if Medicaid recipients can file lawsuits to access specific healthcare providers, focusing on South Carolina’s decision to exclude abortion giant Planned Parenthood from Medicaid funding.

👥 Who’s Involved: The Supreme Court justices, Medicaid beneficiaries, Planned Parenthood, South Carolina government officials, and Julie Edwards, a plaintiff and Medicaid recipient.

📍 Where & When: The case is being heard in Washington, D.C., with arguments presented on Wednesday. The decision is anticipated by the end of the Court’s term in June.

💬 Key Quote: “Congress specifically enacted this provision in response to some States’ efforts to restrict Medicaid patients’ choice of provider,” the plaintiffs stated.

⚠️ Impact: The outcome could impact Medicaid beneficiaries’ choice of healthcare providers and potentially reduce government funding sources for Planned Parenthood.

IN FULL:

The U.S. Supreme Court is set to decide whether Medicaid beneficiaries can legally challenge South Carolina’s exclusion of Planned Parenthood from its state Medicaid program over the vast number of abortions it carries out. This case will test whether states truly have the right to adopt pro-life stances.

South Carolina, led by Republican Governor Henry McMaster, cut Planned Parenthood from receiving Medicaid payments in 2018, though these did not cover abortion services. State officials argue this move complies with federal prohibitions on government funding for abortion services. They claim that allocating Medicaid funds to Planned Parenthood amounts to indirectly subsidizing abortions.

Julie Edwards, a Medicaid recipient, initiated legal action against South Carolina. She claimed that disallowing Planned Parenthood from the Medicaid program infringes on the Medicaid Act. “Congress specifically enacted this provision in response to some States’ efforts to restrict Medicaid patients’ choice of provider,” the plaintiffs said.

Typically, Planned Parenthood receives a significant portion of its funding through government grants, contracts, and Medicaid reimbursements. State representatives argue that Medicaid recipients have alternative healthcare options.

Should the court rule in favor of Edwards and Planned Parenthood, the lawsuit against the state’s funding exclusion would proceed. Conversely, a decision in favor of South Carolina could strengthen similar exclusion efforts in other states. The judgment is expected to be delivered by the end of the Supreme Court’s term in June.

While Planned Parenthood claims it does more than abort babies, the organization has been accused of heinous actions in the past involving abortions. Last year, the Missouri Attorney General sued the group for trafficking minors for abortions without their parents’s consent. In another case, documents claimed that the University of California-San Diego was even buying the body parts of aborted babies from the group.

Texas AG Paxton Arrests Abortionist.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has arrested Maria Margarita Rojas, a 48-year-old midwife who goes by “Dr. Maria,” for “providing illegal abortions and illegally operating a network of clinics” in Houston. She faces second-degree felony charges of illegal performance of an abortion and practicing medicine without a license.

In a statement noting that “Texas law holds abortion providers—not patients—criminally responsible for unlawful procedures,” AG Paxton emphasized that, in addition to criminal charges, abortionists are also subject to “civil penalties of at least $100,000 per violation” under the Texas Human Life Protection Act of 2021.

Rojas is alleged to have presided over the Clinica Waller Latinoamericana, Clinica Latinoamericana Telge, and Latinoamericana Medical Clinic, where she personally aborted babies and directed “unlawfully employed unlicensed individuals who falsely presented themselves as licensed medical professionals” to provide “treatment” to mothers-to-be.

“In Texas, life is sacred. I will always do everything in my power to protect the unborn, defend our state’s pro-life laws, and work to ensure that unlicensed individuals endangering the lives of women by performing illegal abortions are fully prosecuted,” said Paxton, warning: “Texas law protecting life is clear, and we will hold those who violate it accountable.”

RFK Jr. Pledges to Implement Trump Plan to End Late-Term Abortions.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has promised to implement the policies of President Donald J. Trump if confirmed as Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), including banning late-term abortions. During a Senate confirmation hearing on Wednesday, January 29, RFK Jr. was grilled by Democrat Senators and questioned about pro-choice statements he has made in the past.

Speaking to the Committee members, RFK Jr. called every abortion a “tragedy” and said he agreed with President Trump that “we cannot be a moral nation if we have 1.2 million abortions a year.”

“I agree with him that the states should control abortion,” RFK Jr. said, adding that President Trump has told him he wants to end late-term abortions, end federal funding for abortions in the U.S. and abroad, and more.

“I serve at the pleasure of the President. I’m going to implement his policies,” he said.

RFK Jr. has had a chequered past on the issue of abortion but has slowly changed his stance over time. Last year, he stated that he believed abortion should be legal up until a certain number of weeks but maintained that “almost no one supports gruesome third-trimester abortions except to save the life of the mother.”

Former Vice President Mike Pence, who has consistently attacked President Trump and his agenda, has been vocal about his opposition to RFK Jr., specifically regarding his abortion stance. Earlier this month, Pence wrote a letter to Republican senators in a bid to halt Kennedy’s nomination to HHS secretary.

Vice President J.D. Vance Calls for Increasing the American Birthrate at The March for Life.

Vice President J.D. Vance has called on Americans to have more babies during his first public address since the inauguration earlier this week, a move that could counter the country’s declining birthrate. Speaking at the March for Life event in Washington, D.C., on Friday, January 24,  Vance emphasized the need for a renewed focus on family life in the United States.

Addressing thousands of pro-life supporters, Vance criticized what he described as a “culture of radical individualism” and expressed his desire for an increase in the nation’s birth rate. Vance’s speech opened with a declaration of support for protecting the unborn, urging the crowd to see every child as a divine gift. Additionally, he lamented that in America, children are too often perceived as burdens, influenced by the prevalent individualistic culture.

“We failed a generation not only by permitting a culture of abortion on demand but also by neglecting to help young parents achieve the ingredients they need to live a happy and meaningful life,” Vance said before continuing: “A culture of radical individualism took root. One where the responsibilities and joys of family life were seen as obstacles to overcome, not as personal fulfillment or personal blessing.”

“Our society has failed to recognize the obligation that one generation has to another is a core part of living in a society to begin with,” the Vice President continued, adding: “So let me say very simply, I want more babies in the United States of America. I want more happy children in our country. And I want beautiful young men and women who are eager to welcome them into the world and eager to raise them.”

Concluding his remarks, Vice President Vance highlighted the Trump administration’s role in supporting families, pointing to policies like the child tax credit and the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

Longtime Planned Parenthood President Dies the Day of Trump’s Inauguration.

Cecile Richards, the former president of Planned Parenthood—and daughter of Texas’s last Democrat governor, Ann Richards—who became the face of the modern abortion rights movement has died at 67. A powerful political fundraiser who exerted tremendous power in national and state Democratic Party politics, Richards was diagnosed in 2023 with glioblastoma—an especially aggressive form of brain cancer. She succumbed to the disease on January 20, 2025—the day of President-elect Donald J. Trump’s inauguration as the 47th President of the United States.

During her twelve-year tenure as the leader of Planned Parenthood, the organization executed nearly four million abortions, ending the lives of unborn children. Richards stepped down as president of the abortion rights organization in 2018 after taking over its reins in 2006, moving on to found the Supermajority PAC, which aimed to radicalize women voters in the U.S. against the Republican Party and President Trump.

While the group saw some early success with suburban women in the 2018 and 2020 elections, Richard’s deteriorating health largely sidelined the group in 2024. Post-election data suggests President Trump saw a significant recovery in support among women in his landslide election victory last November despite attempts by Planned Parenthood and the Democratic Party to make abortion a key election issue.

In the wake of Richards’s tenure at Planned Parenthood, the radical abortion rights group saw several significant setbacks, including President Trump’s historic Supreme Court appointments. The political defeats for Planned Parenthood culminated on June 24, 2022—under President Joe Biden—when the Supreme Court’s ruling in  Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization overturned both Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey—the two prior decisions which had enabled nationwide abortions.

Traitor Mike Pence is Trying to Block Robert F. Kennedy Jr’s Appointment. Here’s Why…

Former Vice President Mike Pence, in his role as an establishment mouthpiece to attack President-elect Donald J. Trump and his agenda, is urging the U.S. Senate to reject Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s nomination as Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS). Pence’s political organization, Advancing American Freedom, is whipping Republican senators against Kennedy’s nomination over his past support for abortion access.

In a letter to Republican members of the Senate, Advancing American Freedom encourages lawmakers to press Kennedy with five questions addressing his abortion stance. The Pence group letter assets the HHS nominee has previously supported late-term abortions, claiming Kennedy has stated the government should not be involved in a woman’s decision to terminate her pregnancy “even if [the baby] is full term.”

Advancing American Freedom President Tim Chapman and Chairman of the Board Marc Short assert Kennedy’s abortion stance is “completely out of step with the strong, pro-life record of the first Trump Administration.”

The Pence allies continue: “While RFK Jr. has made certain overtures to pro-life leaders that he would be mindful of their concerns at HHS, there is little reason for confidence at this time.”

Despite the claims by Pence’s Advancing American Freedom, Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO)—who spoke with Kennedy in December—says the HHS nominee is committed to reimplementing Trump’s pro-life directives at the department, including the Mexico City Policy and barring the taxpayer funding of abortion in the U.S.

The National Pulse previously reported that Pence’s staff oversaw Operation Warp Speed and aligned public health policy with Big Pharma’s interests. In the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, Pence formed the task force that elevated Alex Azar, Anthony Fauci, and Deborah Birx.

Kennedy has pledged to investigate Fauci and Birx’s decisions during the pandemic.

Pro-Lifer Arrested for Preaching Gospel Outside Abortion Facility.

Police arrested a pro-life man in Ohio for preaching the Gospel outside an abortion clinic, as police claimed he was annoying women trying to enter the facility. On December 28, Zack Knotts was arrested outside an abortion clinic in Cuyahoga Falls, charged with disorderly conduct.

Knotts was using a megaphone to deliver a Christian message to women entering the facility. According to reports, he said, “There’s hope in the Gospel of Jesus Christ for all of you,” and mentioned salvation for sinners.

A video recorded by Knotts’s wife shows police approaching and detaining him. Initially, Knotts was not informed of the reason for his arrest, but officers later cited complaints about “inconvenience, annoyance, or alarm” caused by his words.

The disorderly conduct ordinance in Cuyahoga Falls prohibits making “unreasonable noise.” Knotts argues this regulation lacks objective standards, allowing selective enforcement. He referenced similar cases dismissed by the Supreme Court.

Footage shows Knotts in a police vehicle, justifying his actions to an officer and hinting at legal action. The video later shows him being released. Lindsay Davis-Knotts posted on Instagram that her husband was warned against returning to the site for evangelizing, facing a potential prison term.

Heather Idoni, another pro-life activist, was arrested in 2023 for violating pro-abortion laws meant to stop protests at abortion clinics. Idoni complained of mistreatment in custody, including being forced into solitary confinement.

In the United Kingdom, the leftist Labour Party government is looking to ban outright all protests outside abortion clinics, including silent prayer.

Abortion Claims 73 Million Lives Annually, Top Cause of Global Deaths.

Abortions are the leading cause of death worldwide, according to a World Health Organization (WHO) fact sheet from 2024. “Around 73 million induced abortions take place worldwide each year,” the WHO document stated.

In the United States alone, approximately 1,500 to 2,500 abortions occur daily. The Guttmacher Institute reports that in 2020, 930,160 abortions were performed in the U.S., for a rate of 14.4 per 1,000 women, making abortion the nation’s top cause of death. Data aggregator Worldometers notes, “Nearly 20 percent of all pregnancies in the USA (excluding miscarriages) end in abortion.”

When compared to other causes of death, such as cancer, which claimed 10 million lives globally in 2024, or smoking-related ailments, at 6.2 million, the abortion death toll is enormous.

Approximately 66 million unborn children have been aborted in America because of the Roe v. Wade decision in 1973, finally overturned thanks to Supreme Court justices appointed by President Donald J. Trump in 2022.

Pro-life advocates are set to gather in Washington, D.C., for the annual March for Life this month, urging renewed protections for the unborn in memory of the deadly Roe decision.

Pope Francis Begins 2025 With Pro-Life Message.

Pope Francis, the head of the Roman Catholic Church, delivered a pro-life message to start the 2025 Jubilee year and called on Catholics to entrust the year to the Virgin Mary. In his first homily of the New Year at St. Peter’s Basilica on January 1, 2025, during the Mass for the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God, the Pope emphasized the importance of respecting human life “from conception to natural death.” He also urged the faithful to dedicate 2025 to Mary, the Mother of God.

“Mary, the young woman of Nazareth, reminds us that Jesus came in the flesh, and that we encounter Him above all in our daily life, in our own frail humanity and that of all those whom we encounter each day,” the pontiff said.

The pro-life message is one of many made by Pope Francis during his pontificate. He has even gone as far as calling abortion practitioners “hitmen” during a trip to Belgium last year. However, the Pope has at times also called American Catholic conservatives “backward” in their political beliefs, and he opened the door to same-sex individuals receiving blessings from the Church.

“May we learn to care for every child born of a woman, above all by protecting, like Mary, the precious gift of life: life in the womb, the lives of children, the lives of the suffering, the poor, the elderly, the lonely and the dying,” he stressed.

In his homily, the Pope described the characteristics of God’s relationship with humanity as mercy, closeness, and compassion. He encouraged the faithful to recognize God’s presence in everyday encounters and emulate Jesus’ actions toward the vulnerable and weak.

Warren Buffett Says He’ll Donate $147 Billion to Leftist NGOs When He Dies.

Billionaire Warren Buffett has pledged to give away at least $147 billion to charities and NGOs following his death, tasking his children with spending the money. The 94-year-old Buffet has expressed concern about his children’s longevity, which prompted him to create a backup strategy in case they pass away before being able to give away the fortune. In a recent letter to investors, the 94-year-old stated that he has not yet named a successor in the event his children are unable to fulfill this role.

Buffett remarked candidly about the inevitability of aging, stating, “Father time always wins.” Since 2006, Buffett has been donating significant amounts annually to his children’s charities and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

The Gates Foundation has been revealed to have engaged in researching how to manipulate people into taking future COVID-19 vaccines, as well as funding a Clinton Health Access Initiative aimed at making developing countries reliant on Chinese-made medical products.

Warren Buffett has also shown an interest in population control, attending a 2009 meeting with billionaires Bill Gates, George Soros, Ted Turner, and others to discuss slowing the global population.

Buffett is also pro-abortion, and tax records released in 2016 revealed that he had donated millions to pro-abortion groups like Planned Parenthood, enough, by some estimates, to pay for the killing of 3.6 million unborn babies.
