President Donald J. Trump‘s Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Dan Caine, visited American troops in Puerto Rico and aboard a U.S. Navy warship in the Caribbean on Monday, as the U.S. continues to bolster its military presence in the region. This visit marks Caine’s second to the area since the buildup began, which includes the deployment of the USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier, the largest warship ever built.

Caine, accompanied by senior enlisted adviser David L. Isom, traveled to the Caribbean to “engage with service members and thank them for their outstanding support to regional missions,” according to his office. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth joined Caine in September for a prior visit to Puerto Rico, where hundreds of U.S. Marines had arrived for what officials described as a training exercise.

Hegseth described the Marines as being “on the front lines of defending the American homeland.” The military buildup, which includes kinetic military strikes on drug-smuggling boats, has resulted in the deaths of more than 80 narco-terrorists across 21 vessels. These actions are seen as part of an effort to cut off Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro’s illicit source of drug revenue and force the Marxist strongman to resign.

The Trump administration has also designated the Cartel de los Soles, a group allegedly led by Maduro, as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO). This designation, traditionally reserved for groups such as the Islamic State or al-Qaida, was applied earlier this year to eight Latin American criminal organizations involved in drug trafficking and other illicit activities.

Notably, the designation for the Cartel de los Soles took effect on Monday. Secretary Hegseth stated that the designation opens up a “whole bunch of new options to the United States” for dealing with Maduro, though he declined to elaborate on specific strategies or whether strikes on land targets in Venezuela were being considered. “So nothing is off the table, but nothing’s automatically on the table,” he added.

Israel Says It Killed Hezbollah Founder in Latest Beirut Strike.

PULSE POINTS

❓WHAT HAPPENED: The Israeli military launched a major missile strike on Beirut, targeting Hezbollah leadership.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: The Israeli military (IDF), Hezbollah, and the Lebanese government.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Sunday in Beirut, Lebanon, specifically the Haret Hreik neighborhood.

đź’¬KEY QUOTE: “This breaches a new red line.” – Hezbollah statement

🎯IMPACT: At least five people were killed, 28 were wounded, and significant damage occurred in a densely populated area.

IN FULL

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) conducted a significant strike on Beirut, Lebanon, on Sunday, targeting senior Hezbollah leadership. Following the strike, the IDF announced that it had “eliminated” Hezbollah’s chief of staff, Haytham Ali Tabatabai, in the attack on an apartment building in the Haret Hreik neighborhood, a known Hezbollah stronghold.

Hezbollah released a statement condemning the attack, calling it a violation of agreements that “breaches a new red line.” While the group did not immediately confirm the death of Tabatabai, it stated, “We are coordinating with the Lebanese state to put an end to this Israeli violation.” Notably, Tabatabai was believed to be the current second in command of Hezbollah and played a key role in the founding of the Islamist terror group.

A total of two missiles struck the Beirut apartment building, causing extensive damage to cars and surrounding structures. At least five individuals lost their lives, while 28 others were injured. A large plume of smoke was seen rising above the area.

Western media is characterizing the strike as “a new escalation,” with the attack lacking prior warning or evacuation orders. However, the clandestine nature of the strike likely indicates the high-value nature of the target. The Israeli attack has also drawn criticism for allegedly violating international law and Security Council resolution SCR 1701.

The attack has intensified tensions in the region, with both Hezbollah and the Lebanese government condemning the actions as a breach of the ceasefire and international agreements.

Biden Government Finally Admits 2023 Airstrike Killed Innocent Syrian Civilian, Not al Qaeda Terrorist.

The Biden government is acknowledging that an airstrike conducted in Syria last May failed to eliminate their target, a top-ranking al-Qaeda leader. An innocent Syrian civilian, identified as Lutfi Hasan Masto, was killed instead. The admission follows an investigation by the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM).

“What we can share is the investigation concluded the strike was conducted in compliance with the law of armed conflict as well as Department of Defense and CENTCOM policies,” the Biden government said in a statement. They added: “However, the investigation revealed several issues that could be improved. We are committed to learning from this incident and improving our targeting processes to mitigate potential civilian harm.”

Following the strike, CENTCOM initially said the target was a high-ranking al Qaeda terrorist and that the individual had successfully been eliminated. However, within days of the airstrike, senior officials in the Biden government were acknowledging to American media that the target may not have been a terrorist.

Lutfi Hasan Masto, 56, was a Syrian bricklayer who was working in an area that Defense Department officials believed to be of interest to al Qaeda. However, after they cleared his termination via a Hellfire missile, those same officials acknowledged that their identification of Masto as a terrorist leader may have been mistaken.

“U.S. Central Command acknowledges and regrets the civilian harm that resulted from the airstrike. We take all reports of civilian harm caused by U.S. military operations seriously and continue to employ thorough and deliberate targeting and strike processes to minimize civilian harm,” Biden‘s Defense Department said, acknowledging that they killed an innocent Syrian bricklayer.

Muslim Brotherhood Commander Saleh Arouri Killed By Israeli Airstrike in Beirut.

The deputy leader of the Muslim Brotherhood’s ‘Hamas’ terror group, Saleh Arouri, has reportedly been killed by an Israeli airstrike in Beirut, Lebanon. Videos from the scene show extensive damage to a city block on Tuesday, with vehicles reduced to flaming piles of twisted metal.  An apartment building also appears to have been damaged in the strike. Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah cancelled a long-scheduled speech due Wednesday in the immediate aftermath.

The Israeli Defense Forces have engaged in a campaign to eliminate the leadership of Hamas since the October 7th terror attack carried out by the Islamist terrorist group. The attack saw around 1,200 people killed by Muslim Brotherhood militants acting under the Hamas banner, with several hundred taken hostage and moved to Gaza.

In addition to Arouri, Hamas claims two other members of their senior leadership were killed in the strike – though their identities have yet to be confirmed.

“The cowardly assassinations carried out by the Zionist occupation against the leaders and symbols of our Palestinian people inside and outside Palestine will not succeed in breaking the will and steadfastness of our people, or undermining the continuation of their valiant resistance,” Hamas said in a statement posted on Telegram. “It proves once again the abject failure of this enemy to achieve any of its aggressive goals in the Gaza Strip.”

The targeted strike comes on the heels of news the Israeli Defense Forces intend to remove several thousand troops from Gaza, marking a shift in the war from a broad military campaign to a more targeted tactical mission to continue the elimination of Hamas leadership.

Arouri was killed near the headquarters of the Iranian proxy militant group Hezbollah. The proximity of the strike to the groups headquarters has left some observers concerned it may draw Lebanon and Iran further into the Israel-Hamas war.
