Trump Now Winning Amongst Arab American Voters!?

A recent survey by the Arab American Institute indicates a shift in Arab-American voter preferences, with a slight majority planning to support former President Donald Trump over Vice President Kamala Harris in the upcoming presidential election. The poll reveals that 42 percent of Arab-American voters are inclined to vote for Trump, compared to 41 percent favoring Harris. Trump’s lead increases among those who say they’re “very likely to vote,” with 46 percent supporting him versus 42 percent for Harris.

Vice President Harris has gained some popularity among Arab Americans compared to Joe Biden post-October 7; however, her support is still 18 points below what Biden secured in 2020. The survey also shows that 46 percent of Arab Americans prefer the Republican Party to maintain control of the House, as opposed to 43 percent favoring the Democratic Party.

Enthusiasm among Arab-American Democrats stands at 67 percent, whereas 80 percent of Republican counterparts express similar enthusiasm. A majority of 55 percent of Arab-American voters aged 18 to 29 report a lack of enthusiasm about the election.

ISRAEL.

The Biden-Harris government’s policies regarding Israel and Gaza are a crucial factor in diminishing Democratic support. Of those surveyed, 81 percent consider the Gaza crisis significant in their voting decision, rising to 95 percent among Arab-American Muslims.

Following the debate between Trump and Harris, Reem Abuelhaj of the No Ceasefire No Vote organization warned that Harris being “pretty clear… that she will continue Biden’s policy of unconditional military and financial support for Israel’s war on Gaza” will leave many Muslim voters feeling “unable to cast their ballot for a candidate who is actively supporting genocide.”

The Uncommitted National Movement that tried to pressure Biden into taking a more anti-Israel stance during the Democrat primaries is refusing to endorse Harris. Meanwhile, Amer Ghalib, the mayor of Muslim-majority Hamtramck, Michigan, is endorsing Trump.

The Mayor of America’s First Muslim-Majority City May Just Have Handed Trump the Election.

The mayor of Hamtramck, a city in Michigan with a Muslim-majority population, has publicly declared his support for Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election. Amer Ghalib, who leads the suburb of Detroit, made the stunning announcement through a Facebook post on Sunday.

The news comes shortly after the Democrat splinter movement ‘Uncommitted‘ once again refused to back Kamala Harris in the November election and as Michigan finds itself a critical deciding state in the nation.

Despite acknowledging his differences with Trump, Ghalib described the ex-president as “a man of principles.” In his Arabic-language post, he expressed confidence in Trump’s leadership, stating, “Though it’s looking good, he may or may not win the election and be the 47th president of the United States, but I believe he is the right choice for this critical time.”

Ghalib is no stranger to the media spotlight, creating headlines in October 2023, shortly after the Hamas terror attacks on Israel, where he stated: “Peace can never coexist with occupation and injustice, anywhere and at any time no matter how strong the oppressor or how weak the oppressed is!”

In June last year, Ghalib’s city banned LGBT Pride after the Muslim-majority city council proscribed the homosexual festivities.

The National Pulse has reported extensively on Ghalib and Hamtramck following the town featuring prominently in the bestselling book No Go Zones.

Ghalib emphasized his commitment to the Trump endorsement, saying he would not regret his decision, regardless of the outcome.

He wrote, “I’ll not regret my decision no matter what the outcome would be, and I’m ready to face the consequences. For this and many other reasons, I announce my support and endorsement for the former, and hopefully, the next president of the United States, Donald Trump.” He further added, “Now, let the caravan begin its journey. This is just the starting point.”

Trump acknowledged Ghalib’s endorsement by reposting the message on his Truth Social account.

Ghalib’s support for Trump followed a recent private meeting between the two in Flint, Michigan, which lasted approximately 20 minutes. During their conversation, they discussed topics such as the debates, voting statistics in Michigan and Wayne County, and specific concerns of Arab American and Yemeni American communities. The situation in Yemen was also part of their discussion.

Hamtramck is the only U.S. city governed entirely by Muslims, and over 40 percent of its population is foreign-born.

Mayor of America’s First Muslim Majority City Council Declares ‘No Peace’ With Israel.

The Mayor of Hamtramck – America’s first Muslim-majority city council – Amer Ghalib, responded to the past week’s events in the Middle East with a pro-Hamas message insisting: “Peace can never coexist with occupation and injustice, anywhere and at anytime، no matter how strong the oppressor or how weak the oppressed is!”

Mayor Ghalib, who became the Hamtramck’s first mayor without a Polish background for a century in 2021, added there “are enough lessons from history for some people to learn this principle.”

The Michigan city has undergone a radical demographic transformation due to mass migration – Ghalib is himself a Yemeni migrant.

Like Ghalib, most of the city councilmen have a history of posting anti-Israel or outright anti-Semitic content online. Councilman Khalil Refai, for example, has referred to Israelis as “Zionist criminals” and called on Allah to help Muslims “plant firmly our feet and give us victory over the disbelieving people” in Israel. Councilman Mohammed Hassan, meanwhile, has shared images depicting Jewish people as monkeys, and denounced Israel as “the real terrorist!!!”

There are similar issues elsewhere in Michigan, with Dearborn’s Mayor Abdullah Hammoud responding to the Hamas attack with a long social media post suggesting the mass murder of Israeli civilians was the “inevitable” consequence of the “occupation”.
