Woke Church Names Married Lesbian as New Archbishop.

PULSE POINTS

❓WHAT HAPPENED: Cherry Vann has been appointed as the new Archbishop of Wales, becoming the first married lesbian woman to hold the position.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Cherry Vann, Andrew John, the Church in Wales, and the Anglican Communion.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Vann’s appointment follows Andrew John’s retirement last month, after serving three-and-a-half years as Archbishop.

💬KEY QUOTE: “The first thing I shall need to do is to ensure that the issues which have been raised in the last six months are properly addressed and that I work to bring healing and reconciliation, and to build a really good level of trust across the Church and the communities the Church serves.” – Cherry Vann

🎯IMPACT: Vann’s appointment follows a critical safeguarding review, and underlines official Anglicanism’s increasing estrangement from traditional Christianity.

IN FULL

The Anglican Church of Wales has named married lesbian priestess Cherry Vann the 15th Archbishop of Wales, becoming the first woman to hold the position. Originally from Leicester, England, Vann has served as the Bishop of Monmouth for five years and succeeds Andrew John, who retired last month after three and a half years in the role.

John’s departure followed the publication of a safeguarding review at Bangor Cathedral, which highlighted issues such as “a culture in which sexual boundaries seemed blurred” and “promiscuity was acceptable.” The report also noted inappropriate language, rude jokes, and innuendos within the choir, which left some members feeling unsafe or humiliated.

Vann was ordained as a deacon in 1989 and was among the first women to be ordained as a priest in the Church of England in 1994. She later served as Archdeacon of Rochdale in the Diocese of Manchester for 11 years before her appointment as Bishop of Monmouth.

In a statement, Vann acknowledged the challenges ahead, saying: “The first thing I shall need to do is to ensure that the issues which have been raised in the last six months are properly addressed and that I work to bring healing and reconciliation, and to build a really good level of trust across the Church and the communities the Church serves.”

Other Protestant European churches are also appointing homosexual women bishops, such as in Sweden, where lesbian Eva Brunne became the Lutheran Bishop of Stockholm in 2009. Brunne was the first ever openly lesbian bishop of a mainline denomination in the world.

Anglican churches are struggling to attract regular parishioners in the United Kingdom, with far more young people in England attending Roman Catholic Mass. If current projections hold, there will soon be more practicing Roman Catholics than Anglicans in England for the first time since the Protestant Reformation.

Young Brits Flock to Catholic Church – DATA.

PULSE POINTS:

❓What Happened: England is becoming Catholic once more as young people increasingly turn to the Roman Catholic faith over protestant Anglicanism.

👥 Who’s Involved: Roman Catholic Church, Church of England, young people in Britain.

📍 Where & When: A survey of young practising Christians in England and Wales was released on May 8.

💬 Key Quote: “Ten years ago, numbers might have been half that.” – Catholic priest Father Kensy Joseph on attendance at a London church youth program.

⚠️ Impact: If the trend continues, practising English Catholics will outnumber Anglicans for the first time since the Protestant Reformation.

IN FULL:

An increasing number of young people in England and Wales are joining or practicing the Roman Catholic faith, with the number of practicing Catholics now exceeding the number of practicing Anglicans. A poll from YouGov reveals that young men, particularly, are flocking to the Christian faith.

The poll, commissioned by the Bible Society, shows a 56 percent rise in those attending church at least once a month. Among those aged 18 to 24, regular church attendance jumped from just four percent in 2018 to 16 percent in 2024.

The Church of England, the state religion of England, headed by King Charles III, is not where young people are going. Many are attending Roman Catholic churches to the extent that practising Catholics now outnumber Anglicans among those aged 18 to 54.

If the trend continues, practising Catholics could be a more significant bloc than Anglicans for the first time since England’s Protestant Reformation, sparked by King Henry VIII in the 1500s.

“Ten years ago, numbers might have been half that,” said Catholic priest Father Kensy Joseph, speaking of the attendance at the Farm Street church in London, which normally attracts as many as 180 people for its young adult program.

The interest in Catholicism in England comes amid a surge of adult baptisms in France this year. The country saw a record 10,384 adult baptisms at Easter last month.

Young Catholics are also increasingly interested in the traditional Latin Rite, also known as the Traditional Latin Mass (TLM), in many parts of the world. A 2023 French survey found 40 percent of young French Catholics like the TLM, while the traditionalist pilgrimage from Paris to Chartres last year saw a record 18,000 attendees.

The rise in popularity of Catholicism in some parts of Western Europe comes amid the election of Pope Leo XIV, who some are optimistic may unify the liberal and traditional wings of the Church.

Conservative Priest Suspended for Imitating Musk’s ‘Nazi Salute.’

An American branch of the largely woke Anglican Church has revoked the priestly license of British conservative Calvin Robinson after he jokingly performed a salute similar to tech billionaire Elon Musk. Robinson, a former presenter for UK broadcaster GB News, made the gesture during a speech at the National Pro-Life Summit in Washington, D.C.

Robinson concluded his speech by quoting Musk’s phrase, “My heart goes out to you,” placing his hand on his chest before extending his arm outward in a gesture resembling the so-called Roman salute associated with Italy’s Fascists and Germany’s National Socialists, earning laughter from the audience.

This gesture mirrored Musk’s actions at President Donald J. Trump’s inauguration rally last week, which led to corporate media accusing Musk of intentionally mimicking the Nazi “sieg heil.”

Robinson is a member of the Anglican Catholic Church, which reacted strongly, describing the gesture as “trolling” and “incompatible with a priestly vocation.” The church issued a statement condemning Nazi ideologies, emphasizing the seriousness of actions that mimic such gestures. They stated that these actions are divisive and counter to Christian values.

In response, Robinson insisted that his intent was misinterpreted and that his gesture mocked liberal critics’ accusations against Musk. He emphasized the importance of context in understanding his actions.

Robinson was initially ordained by the Free Church of England. Last year, Robinson was kicked out of the Conservative Party after vocally expressing support for anti-grooming gang activist Tommy Robinson.

Woke Church of England Archbishop Resigns Amid Child Sex Abuse Scandal.

A former Archbishop of Canterbury has resigned following allegations that he mishandled a sex abuse case involving an Anglican priest. George Carey, former Archbishop of Canterbury and spiritual head of the Church of England (CofE) from 1991 to 2002, stepped down following a BBC investigation that revealed he permitted a previously banned priest to resume his ministry.

His resignation letter, dated December 4, emphasized his lengthy service—beginning in 1962—and his approaching 90th birthday but did not address the specifics of the investigation. Reports state that Carey facilitated the reappointment of cleric David Tudor in 1994, five years after Tudor had been barred due to accusations of assaulting teenage girls.

The investigation suggested that Carey supported Tudor’s employment in a diocese, raising questions about his decision-making during his tenure.

Carey’s decision to resign coincides with pressure on Stephen Cottrell, who is scheduled to become the Church of England’s temporary figurehead. Cottrell, currently the Archbishop of York, allegedly allowed Tudor to continue in his position despite being aware of restrictions that prohibited Tudor from being alone with children. Additionally, Tudor had previously settled a compensation claim with one of his accusers.

In October, Tudor was permanently banned from the ministry after admitting to sexual involvement with two teenage girls in the 1980s, aged 15 and 16.

Carey’s resignation comes just weeks after Justin Welby resigned as Archbishop of Canterbury amid allegations that he covered up child sex abuse cases for a decade. A report claimed that Welby, a frequent World Economic Forum (WEF) attendee, declined to pursue a proper investigation despite knowing of the abuse since 2013.

Welby presided over a shift toward woke attitudes in the Anglican mother church, going as far as demanding “serious consequences” for anti-trans comments and giving tacit approval to homosexual activity.

Christian School Assistant Fired For Critiquing LGBT Curriculum.

Kristie Higgs, a former pastoral assistant at a nominally Christian school in Fairford, England, has initiated a Court of Appeal challenge in London against her dismissal. In 2019, the Farmor’s School, run by the Archbishops’ Council of the Church of England, terminated Higgs for gross misconduct after she shared Facebook posts criticizing the introduction of LGBTQ relationship education at her son’s school.

In a 2018 post decrying “brainwashing” in schools, Higgs criticized government moves to make “Relationships and Sex Education mandatory,” warning that “children will be taught that all relationships are equally valid and ‘normal,’ so that same-sex marriage is exactly the same as traditional marriage and that gender is a matter of choice, not biology so that it’s up to them what sex they are.”

Higgs said this would mean that “expressing and teaching fundamental Christian beliefs, relating to the creation of men and women and marriage will in practice become forbidden—because they conflict with the new morality and are seen as indoctrination into unacceptable religious bigotry.”

She further said this would mean that “freedom of belief will be destroyed, with freedom of speech permitted only for those who toe the party line!” The school responded by firing her.

CHRISTIANS SILENCED.

In 2020, an Employment Tribunal upheld the dismissal, which she challenged as infringing on freedom of religion and expression. In 2023, an Employment Appeal Tribunal ruled her case had not been appropriately handled. Still, it referred it back to the lower tribunal for a fresh determination instead of ruling definitively in her favor, prompting her to take the matter to the Court of Appeal.

“This is not just about me. It cannot be right that so many Christians are losing their jobs or facing discipline for sharing biblical truth, our Christian beliefs,” she said outside the Royal Courts of Justice on Wednesday. “I am not alone to be treated this way. Many of the others… have faced similar consequences,” she added.

Archbishop Demands ‘Serious Consequences’ for ‘Anti-Trans’ Comments.

Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, the world’s foremost Anglican prelate, wants universities that allows trans people to be “insulted” to face funding cuts and loss of status.

“Universities that allow it to be tolerated if there is systemic ‘anti’ any category, whether it’s Jewish people, Jewish societies, whether it’s trans people… should have really quite serious consequences in terms of the recognition of their authority, their position. And [cutting] their funding, in particular, I think that is really important,” he said.

While Welby claimed “no one is entitled not to be offended” on campus, he undercut this by adding that people “have every right not to be abused, insulted and excluded”. His comments were motivated by recent controversy around Professor Kathleen Stock, who believes biological men cannot become women and was almost prevented from speaking at the University of Oxford as a result.

The Church of England, the mother church of the Episcopal Church in the United States, has become increasingly political, pushing open borders and encouraging children to “play with the many cloaks of [gender] identity” in schools. Anglican churches in Africa recently split from Welby after the Church of England decided to begin blessing same-sex marriages.
