The Global Anglican Future Conference (GAFCON), a coalition of conservative Anglican leaders, has formally broken ties with the Archbishop of Canterbury—the de facto leader of the Church of England—and declared itself the true leadership of the Anglican Church. The announcement marks a significant turning point in the global Anglican Communion, driven by deepening divisions over doctrine, leadership, and morality.

In a letter released October 16, Most Revd Dr Laurent Mbanda, chairman of the GAFCON Primates’ Council and Primate of the Anglican Church of Rwanda, said the Church of England had “strayed too far from core teachings.” Mbanda wrote, “In the absence of such repentance, we have been prayerfully advancing towards a future for faithful Anglicans, where the Bible is restored to the heart of the Communion.” He also rejected the authority of the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Lambeth Conference, and other traditional institutions. “We cannot continue to have communion with those who advocate the revisionist agenda, which has abandoned the inerrant word of God as the final authority,” Mbanda added.

GAFCON said it would no longer participate in meetings organized by Canterbury or provide financial support. The group announced it will host a global gathering in Abuja, Nigeria, from March 3 to 6, 2026. “Today, Gafcon is leading the Global Anglican Communion,” Mbanda declared. “As has been the case from the very beginning, we have not left the Anglican Communion; we are the Anglican Communion.”

The announcement comes shortly after the Church of England appointed Dame Sarah Mullally as the first female Archbishop of Canterbury. Mullally has been a vocal supporter of same-sex blessings and has described herself as “pro-choice” on abortion. Her appointment has sparked backlash from traditionalist Anglicans, particularly in Africa, where leaders have called her selection “devastating” and contrary to biblical values.

In July, the Church in Wales also elected the openly lesbian Bishop Cherry Vann as its new Archbishop, the first woman in that role. Vann lives with her civil partner and has advocated for LGBT inclusion in the Church, a stance that has intensified the divide between progressive and conservative Anglican provinces.

Amid these tensions, King Charles III, the Supreme Governor of the Church of England—an administrative position rather than a clerical one—is scheduled to make a historic visit to the Vatican next week, where he will become the first British monarch in 500 years to publicly pray with a pope. He will meet with Pope Leo XIV as part of the Catholic Church’s Jubilee Year and take part in an ecumenical prayer service in Rome.

The Church of England has allowed Canterbury Cathedral, its ancient mother church, to be vandalized by graffiti artists from “marginalized communities.” This has drawn sharp reactions online, including from U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance. The so-called “Hear Us” installation features graffiti messages such as “Are you there?” and “Is illness sin?” pasted on the walls, pillars, and floors of the 1,400-year-old cathedral.

“I think it’s sacrilegious,” said one visitor, while another likened the historic site to “an underground car park” in a rough part of London.

“It is weird to me that these people don’t see the irony of honoring ‘marginalized communities’ by making a beautiful historical building really ugly,” Vice President Vance remarked on X (formerly Twitter).

David Monteith, the openly homosexual Dean of Canterbury, defended the installation, claiming, “There is a rawness which is magnified by the graffiti style, which is disruptive.”

“This exhibition intentionally builds bridges between cultures, styles and genres and, in particular, allows us to receive the gifts of younger people who have much to say and from whom we need to hear much,” he insisted.

The new art installation comes on the heels of the selection of the new Archbishop of Canterbury, Sarah Mullally, the first woman to occupy the role in 1,400 years. Mullally has already caused controversy in the broader Anglican communion for her liberal “pro-choice” views on abortion and general wokeness.

Mullally’s appointment comes just weeks after the Anglican church named an openly lesbian woman as the Archbishop of Wales.

Conservative Priest Suspended for Imitating Musk’s ‘Nazi Salute.’

An American branch of the largely woke Anglican Church has revoked the priestly license of British conservative Calvin Robinson after he jokingly performed a salute similar to tech billionaire Elon Musk. Robinson, a former presenter for UK broadcaster GB News, made the gesture during a speech at the National Pro-Life Summit in Washington, D.C.

Robinson concluded his speech by quoting Musk’s phrase, “My heart goes out to you,” placing his hand on his chest before extending his arm outward in a gesture resembling the so-called Roman salute associated with Italy’s Fascists and Germany’s National Socialists, earning laughter from the audience.

This gesture mirrored Musk’s actions at President Donald J. Trump’s inauguration rally last week, which led to corporate media accusing Musk of intentionally mimicking the Nazi “sieg heil.”

Robinson is a member of the Anglican Catholic Church, which reacted strongly, describing the gesture as “trolling” and “incompatible with a priestly vocation.” The church issued a statement condemning Nazi ideologies, emphasizing the seriousness of actions that mimic such gestures. They stated that these actions are divisive and counter to Christian values.

In response, Robinson insisted that his intent was misinterpreted and that his gesture mocked liberal critics’ accusations against Musk. He emphasized the importance of context in understanding his actions.

Robinson was initially ordained by the Free Church of England. Last year, Robinson was kicked out of the Conservative Party after vocally expressing support for anti-grooming gang activist Tommy Robinson.

Christian School Assistant Fired For Critiquing LGBT Curriculum.

Kristie Higgs, a former pastoral assistant at a nominally Christian school in Fairford, England, has initiated a Court of Appeal challenge in London against her dismissal. In 2019, the Farmor’s School, run by the Archbishops’ Council of the Church of England, terminated Higgs for gross misconduct after she shared Facebook posts criticizing the introduction of LGBTQ relationship education at her son’s school.

In a 2018 post decrying “brainwashing” in schools, Higgs criticized government moves to make “Relationships and Sex Education mandatory,” warning that “children will be taught that all relationships are equally valid and ‘normal,’ so that same-sex marriage is exactly the same as traditional marriage and that gender is a matter of choice, not biology so that it’s up to them what sex they are.”

Higgs said this would mean that “expressing and teaching fundamental Christian beliefs, relating to the creation of men and women and marriage will in practice become forbidden—because they conflict with the new morality and are seen as indoctrination into unacceptable religious bigotry.”

She further said this would mean that “freedom of belief will be destroyed, with freedom of speech permitted only for those who toe the party line!” The school responded by firing her.

CHRISTIANS SILENCED.

In 2020, an Employment Tribunal upheld the dismissal, which she challenged as infringing on freedom of religion and expression. In 2023, an Employment Appeal Tribunal ruled her case had not been appropriately handled. Still, it referred it back to the lower tribunal for a fresh determination instead of ruling definitively in her favor, prompting her to take the matter to the Court of Appeal.

“This is not just about me. It cannot be right that so many Christians are losing their jobs or facing discipline for sharing biblical truth, our Christian beliefs,” she said outside the Royal Courts of Justice on Wednesday. “I am not alone to be treated this way. Many of the others… have faced similar consequences,” she added.

Anglican Priestess Declares ‘Let’s Have Anti-Whiteness and Smash the Patriarchy.’

Archdeaconess Miranda Threlfall-Holmes, a senior priestess in the Church of England, has called publicly for more “anti-whiteness.”

Threlfall-Holmes, Archdeaconess of Liverpool, issued a call to “smash the patriarchy” in the same social media post, reflecting on the lessons of a race ideology conference she attended.

“I went to a conference on whiteness last autumn. It was very good, very interesting and made me realise: whiteness is to race as patriarchy is to gender,” she wrote on X.

“So yes, let’s have anti whiteness, [and] let’s smash the patriarchy,” she added, insisting this was “not anti-white, or anti-men, it’s anti-oppression.”

Since issuing her rallying cry, Threlfall-Holmes has used her X account to post about apples and getting new glasses but has been notably silent on Palm Sunday, Holy Monday, and other Christian holidays leading to Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

The Church of England, which is the mother church of the Anglican Communion, including the Episcopal Church in the Unted States has become increasingly woke in recent years.

While Church attendance is collapsing and Church buildings are falling into disrepair, it is spending lavishly on hiring “racial justice enablers” — white people are excluded by the job description — and establishing nine-figure funds to finance slavery reparations.

Archbishop Demands ‘Serious Consequences’ for ‘Anti-Trans’ Comments.

Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, the world’s foremost Anglican prelate, wants universities that allows trans people to be “insulted” to face funding cuts and loss of status.

“Universities that allow it to be tolerated if there is systemic ‘anti’ any category, whether it’s Jewish people, Jewish societies, whether it’s trans people… should have really quite serious consequences in terms of the recognition of their authority, their position. And [cutting] their funding, in particular, I think that is really important,” he said.

While Welby claimed “no one is entitled not to be offended” on campus, he undercut this by adding that people “have every right not to be abused, insulted and excluded”. His comments were motivated by recent controversy around Professor Kathleen Stock, who believes biological men cannot become women and was almost prevented from speaking at the University of Oxford as a result.

The Church of England, the mother church of the Episcopal Church in the United States, has become increasingly political, pushing open borders and encouraging children to “play with the many cloaks of [gender] identity” in schools. Anglican churches in Africa recently split from Welby after the Church of England decided to begin blessing same-sex marriages.
