👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Federal and local law enforcement, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and the Trump administration, with criticism from Democrat D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser and Attorney General Brian Schwalb.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Washington, D.C., on Monday night, August 18, 2025, as part of ongoing operations since August 7, 2025.

💬KEY QUOTE: “At the direction of [President Trump], our nation’s capital is a SAFER place—and we are just getting started.” – U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi

🎯IMPACT: Over 450 arrests have been made since August 7, despite significant pushback from local Democratic leaders over federal involvement in D.C.’s policing.

IN FULL

Monday night saw a new round of arrests totalling 52 suspects by federal and local law enforcement in Washington, D.C., under the direction of President Donald J. Trump. Among those apprehended is an alleged member of the violent Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang with prior convictions for driving while intoxicated and drug possession. Notably, MS-13 was declared a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) by President Trump in February.

“At the direction of [President Trump], our nation’s capital is a SAFER place—and we are just getting started. [Fifty-two] arrests were made last night, including an MS-13 gang member, and [nine] firearms were taken off the streets,” U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi announced in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday. She added, “Since our mission began, there have been a total of 465 arrests, 68 guns seized, and charges for homicide, narcotics, and firearm offenses. Nearly half of these arrests occurred in the high-crime areas of D.C. Residents and tourists alike appreciate this extraordinary effort by our DC and Federal law enforcement partners.”

The White House reported that out of 212 non-immigration arrests, 101 occurred in Wards 7 and 8, areas known for higher crime rates. Federal authorities also cleared four homeless encampments on Monday.

Meanwhile, Washington D.C.’s Democrat mayor, Muriel Bowser, criticized the federalization of the city’s police force, calling it “an intrusion on our autonomy.” Speaking at a community town hall, she urged residents to resist what she described as an “authoritarian push” and to work towards electing a Democratic-controlled Congress to counter the Trump White House. D.C. Attorney General Brian Schwalb echoed her concerns, tweeting that the deployment of armed soldiers undermines public safety and democracy.

The Trump administration has defended its actions, with Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin stating that ICE and U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) have been deployed to “clean up the streets of our nation’s capital.” She added, “Our message is clear: Criminal illegal aliens are not welcome in the United States.” Bondi also recently issued an order overriding D.C.’s sanctuary policies, ensuring compliance between local police and federal immigration authorities.

The D.C. Police Union also appears happy with the Trump takeover, noting that serious crimes such as carjacking are down by as much as 83 percent.

WATCH: Drunken Democrat AG Threatens Cops, Resists Arrest.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Rhode Island Special Assistant Attorney General Devon Flanagan was arrested for alleged trespassing outside a Newport restaurant.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Devon Flanagan, Newport police, and Rhode Island Attorney General’s Office.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Thursday night outside the Clarke Cooke House on Bannister’s Wharf, Newport, Rhode Island.

💬KEY QUOTE: “The Office immediately began a review of the incident, which we anticipate will conclude within the next few days.” – Tim Rondeau, Rhode Island Attorney General’s Office.

🎯IMPACT: The incident has raised questions about accountability and conduct among public officials.

IN FULL

Law enforcement camera footage captured Rhode Island Special Assistant Attorney General Devon Flanagan (D) being arrested by Newport police last Thursday night. Flanagan was allegedly trespassing outside the Clarke Cooke House, a restaurant on Bannister’s Wharf in Newport.

The arrest video shows her appearing to be in a drunken state and repeatedly shouting, at least eleven times, “I’m an AG!” in an apparent attempt to avoid being detained.

Tim Rondeau, Director of Communications for Rhode Island Attorney General Peter F. Neronha, issued a statement confirming that the office is reviewing the incident. “The Office immediately began a review of the incident, which we anticipate will conclude within the next few days. At this time, we are unable to comment further on this matter as it relates to personnel issues,” the statement read.

Flanagan, a Democrat who has worked in the Rhode Island Attorney General’s Office for seven years, serves in the Appellate Unit of the Criminal Division. During the arrest, Flanagan can be heard saying, “You’re going to regret this,” and requesting officers to turn off their body cameras, claiming it was her right as a citizen to demand this. Officers disregarded her request, as no such policy exists in Rhode Island.

In addition to Flanagan, her friend Veronica Hannan—a senior manager at PepsiCo who calls herself a “champion of diversity in STEM”—was also arrested. The body camera footage shows Hannan screaming and hissing at officers, and at one point twisting out of the officers’ grasp as they attempted to handcuff her.

Flanagan and Hannan are facing charges of willful trespass, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest.

The Data Shows Trump Takeover Has Crushed Crime in DC:

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Federal and local law enforcement agents in Washington, D.C., made 68 arrests on Saturday night, with over 300 arrests since President Donald J. Trump federalized D.C. law enforcement and deployed National Guard troops on August 11. D.C. Police Union data shows significant declines in D.C. crime, particularly carjackings and robberies.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: President Trump, Attorney General Pam Bondi, National Guard troops, and federal agencies such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the D.C. Police Union, and D.C. residents.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Washington, D.C., Saturday night, with ongoing efforts since August 11.

💬KEY QUOTE: “Just last night, our federal and D.C. law enforcement partners made 68 arrests and seized 15 illegal firearms. Homicide suspects, drug traffickers, and more are being charged.” – Pam Bondi

🎯IMPACT: The increased law enforcement presence in Washington, D.C. appears to be improving public safety and cutting crime.

IN FULL

U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi announced that federal agents, working alongside the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), arrested 68 crime suspects on Saturday night, bringing the total to over 300 since President Donald J. Trump announced his crime crackdown on August 11. Meanwhile, the D.C. Police Union has released data showing massive declines in several crime categories.

Overall, police union data shows crime is down by eight percent—but the fall in carjackings, which have become particularly prevalent in the Democrat-dominated city, is far more dramatic, with an 83 percent decline. Robberies are also down by 46 percent, with a smaller but still significant 22 percent decline in violent crime generally.

Last week, President Trump federalized the MPD and mobilized National Guard units to the District of Columbia alongside personnel from federal law enforcement agencies as part of a 30-day initiative to curb violent crime in the American capital.

The National Guard troops and MPD are working alongside federal agencies such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). Additionally, the MPD, under federalization, has agreed to cooperate with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) when detaining illegal immigrants.

“Just last night, our federal and D.C. law enforcement partners made 68 arrests and seized 15 illegal firearms. Homicide suspects, drug traffickers, and more are being charged,” Bondi wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

Late Friday, a federal court temporarily blocked the federalization of the D.C. police, but relented after the Department of Justice (DOJ) revised part of its directive to allow the city’s police chief to remain in place. President Trump has expressed a desire to work with the GOP-controlled Congress to extend his control over the capital city beyond the 30-day emergency authority.

Currently, about 800 National Guard troops are stationed in D.C., with an additional 700 expected to arrive from Ohio, South Carolina, and West Virginia this week.

BREAKING: Man Arrested at Capitol With Machete, Knives Ahead of Trump Visit.

The United States Capitol Police (USCP) arrested a man armed with a machete and at least three knives Wednesday afternoon ahead of President-elect Donald J. Trump‘s visit with lawmakers. According to a statement by the USCP, the man attempted to breach the north security screening area at the Capitol Visitors Center (CVC) at 2:00 PM but was intercepted by officers. The arrest prompted the temporary closure of the visitor screening area.

President-elect Trump is slated to meet with Republican lawmakers at the Capitol later this afternoon. Meanwhile, a number of visitors are flocking to the building to pay their respects to the late President Jimmy Carter, who is currently lying in state in the Capitol Rotunda.

“During security screening at the CVC’s north doors, our officers spotted a machete in the man’s bag, stopped the x-ray machine, arrested the man, and secured the machete,” a statement from the USCP reads. “Three knives were also found in the bag, along with the machete. Security screening was temporarily stopped at the north side of the Capitol Visitor Center while we investigated.”

“The man is being arrested for multiple charges of Carrying a Dangerous Weapon,” the USCP statement on the incident concludes.

Security measures around the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., remain heightened ahead of the inauguration of President-elect Trump on January 20. During the 2024 presidential campaign, there were at least two attempts on Trump’s life, with the now President-elect being struck in the ear by an assassin’s bullet during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Trump supporter Corey Comperatore was killed while shielding his family from gunfire.

Pro-Lifer Arrested for Preaching Gospel Outside Abortion Facility.

Police arrested a pro-life man in Ohio for preaching the Gospel outside an abortion clinic, as police claimed he was annoying women trying to enter the facility. On December 28, Zack Knotts was arrested outside an abortion clinic in Cuyahoga Falls, charged with disorderly conduct.

Knotts was using a megaphone to deliver a Christian message to women entering the facility. According to reports, he said, “There’s hope in the Gospel of Jesus Christ for all of you,” and mentioned salvation for sinners.

A video recorded by Knotts’s wife shows police approaching and detaining him. Initially, Knotts was not informed of the reason for his arrest, but officers later cited complaints about “inconvenience, annoyance, or alarm” caused by his words.

The disorderly conduct ordinance in Cuyahoga Falls prohibits making “unreasonable noise.” Knotts argues this regulation lacks objective standards, allowing selective enforcement. He referenced similar cases dismissed by the Supreme Court.

Footage shows Knotts in a police vehicle, justifying his actions to an officer and hinting at legal action. The video later shows him being released. Lindsay Davis-Knotts posted on Instagram that her husband was warned against returning to the site for evangelizing, facing a potential prison term.

Heather Idoni, another pro-life activist, was arrested in 2023 for violating pro-abortion laws meant to stop protests at abortion clinics. Idoni complained of mistreatment in custody, including being forced into solitary confinement.

In the United Kingdom, the leftist Labour Party government is looking to ban outright all protests outside abortion clinics, including silent prayer.

Feds Bust Tren de Aragua Gang Hideout in NYC Using GPS Ankle Monitor.

Federal agents, in collaboration with the New York Police Department (NYPD), apprehended a group associated with the violent Venezuelan illegal immigrant gang Tren de Aragua during a raid in the Bronx on December 5. The operation at the Crotona Park apartment building resulted in the arrest of seven individuals, facilitated by the detection of an ankle monitor worn by a key suspect, Jarwin Valero-Calderon, a 28-year-old Venezuelan national. Valero-Calderon’s monitoring device was crucial in leading authorities to the hideout.

The crackdown is seen as a significant step against Tren de Aragua, a gang that has infiltrated the U.S. among waves of asylum-seeking migrants since 2022. The gang is known for recruiting within publicly funded migrant shelters and engaging in various criminal activities, including drug, gun, and human trafficking in New York. John Fabbricatore, former U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) chief in Denver, expressed concerns over the gang’s growing influence and its expansion in sanctuary cities.

Sources highlighted multiple arrests, including Jhonaiker Alexander Gil Cardozo, 24, and 30-year-old Jesus Manuel Quintero Granado. Both individuals are linked to various offenses across states, such as shoplifting, grand larceny, and handling stolen property, following their entry into the U.S. through El Paso.

Another suspect, 19-year-old Angel Gabriel Marquez Rodriguez, faced charges in Chicago and New York following his September 2023 border crossing. Furthermore, 21-year-old Fernandez Franco Greymer De Dios, associated with the gang, disappeared after claiming persecution but was eventually ordered deported.

The raid also focused attention on younger members of the gang, particularly the sub-group known as “Diablos de la 42,” noted for their activities in prominent areas like Times Square. Federal immigration sources confirmed all detainees’ links to Tren de Aragua.

Tommy Robinson Arrested on TERROR Charges for Not Giving Away His Phone PIN Code.

Independent journalist and anti-grooming gang activist Tommy Robinson has been arrested by police and remanded into custody until at least Monday, according to one of his associates. Sammy Woodhouse, a documentary maker and grooming gang victim, stated on X that Robinson had been remanded into custody after being arrested.

Media reports claim that Robinson’s arrest is due to a previous violation of Schedule 7 of the Terrorism Act as he refused to give the PIN code to his mobile device to police. He was bailed and is due to appear in court next month.

However, he was remanded in custody over another case in which he is accused of defaming a Syrian asylum seeker in his documentary film Silenced, which he released publicly on X despite being ordered not to by a British judge.

The documentary questions the story of Syrian asylum seeker Jamal Hijazi, who was allegedly attacked by classmates at a school in Huddersfield in 2018.

Robinson had questioned the narrative around the incident on social media, claiming that Hijazi was not innocent and attacked local girls before the video. Hijazi and others later sued Robinson for libel, with a court ordering him to pay £100,000 in damages and a further £500,000 in legal costs—equivalent to around $780,000 in total.

The documentary, which a judge ordered to be censored, features interviews with several local people who pushed back against the mainstream narrative regarding Hijazi.

The arrest is just the latest for Robinson. He was detained in Canada earlier this year over supposed immigration violations while on a speaking tour. A British and Irish dual national, Robinson used his Irish passport for the trip, and following his arrest, the Irish government publicly debated revoking it.

EXC: Anti-Trump TX House Speaker Arrested for Drunk Driving, Refused Breathalyzer, Records Reveal.

Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan, who is facing off against David Covey in today’s primary run-off election, was arrested for driving while intoxicated (DWI) in 1999, newly released court records obtained by The National Pulse have revealed.

Phelan infamously appeared to be intoxicated on the floor of the state legislature last year shortly before the anti-Trump Republican pursued an impeachment action against the state’s attorney general, Ken Paxton.

According to the records, Phelan was arrested in Travis County, Texas, in October 1999 for drunk driving. The future Texas House Speaker refused a breathalyzer test. As a result, Phelan — then 24 years old — had his driver’s license suspended and was ordered to complete the Texas Drug and Alcohol Driving Awareness Program. Despite having his license suspended, Phelan applied for and received an occupational driver’s license, allowing him to drive between the hours of 7AM and 7PM for his work as a real estate agent.

Phelan is perhaps best known as the Texas Republican who led the impeachment against the state’s conservative Attorney General Ken Paxton, a staunch ally of former President Donald J. Trump. Despite the Texas Speaker’s best efforts, Paxton survived the dubious impeachment after the case against him collapsed during the trial in the State Senate.

Several witnesses brought by Phelan’s impeachment managers either recanted their prior statements entirely or admitted that they had no evidence of the accusations they leveled against Paxton. Attorney General Paxton credited The National Pulse with helping expose the false charges against him.

In addition to his attacks on Paxton, Phelan has also scuttled several conservative legislative efforts undertaken by Governor Greg Abbott (R-TX). In one instance, he blocked a 2023 effort to enact school choice despite it being a top issue for Abbott and receiving the backing of the Republican-controlled State Senate.

Gaza Protests Have Seen Over 500 Arrests So Far.

Police have arrested more than 500 pro-Hamas activists at dozens of college campuses across the United States. Demonstrations against Israel and in support of the Hamas terrorist group have roiled American universities over the past two weeks, often resulting in violent clashes between protestors and law enforcement.

The protests pose a major problem for the Biden government as the 81-year-old Democrat incumbent struggles in 2024 presidential election polls against his opponent, former President Donald Trump. Biden has already faced concerning protest votes in the Michigan, Minnesota, and Washington Democratic presidential primaries — with progressive and Muslim voters casting their ballots for the “uncommitted” line. Michigan, an especially crucial swing state in the November election, has a large Arab-American and Muslim population that has been highly critical of Biden’s stance on Israel’s war against Hamas.

Campus protestors are demanding the Biden government end what they perceive as support for the Jewish state. Additionally, some factions of the protestors are demanding the respective academic institutions divest themselves from business relationships with Israel. Concerningly, a subset of the demonstrations are calling for the removal of Jewish students from campus and even violence against those they deem to be “Zionists.”

Columbia University witnessed more than 100 arrests last week while school authorities attempted to dismantle a protester encampment. Negotiations to remove the tents continue, with the university denying rumors of a New York Police Department (NYPD) presence on campus. The University of Southern California has also been a site of unrest, with 93 people taken into custody for trespassing; one individual was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon. Unspecified safety concerns led to the cancellation of the university’s commencement ceremony.
