‘Trump Accounts’ Set for Big Super Bowl Boost.

PULSE POINTS

❓WHAT HAPPENED: Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced that a commercial for the new Trump Accounts program will air during the Super Bowl.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, President Donald J. Trump, and U.S. families expecting children between 2025 and 2028.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The Super Bowl commercial will air on February 8, 2026, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

đź’¬KEY QUOTE: “Look for the commercial after the national anthem at the Super Bowl this weekend.” – Scott Bessent

🎯IMPACT: Millions of Americans could learn about the initiative, designed to give U.S.-born babies a financial head start.

IN FULL

The Trump administration will roll out a Super Bowl commercial during the big on Sunday educating the American public about the new Trump Accounts program, which will give enrolled U.S. babies—born between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2028—$1,000 at birth to invest through a specialized 530A hybrid retirement account. A provision of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, signed into law by President Donald J. Trump earlier this year, the Trump Accounts program is set to launch on July 4, 2026.

“Look for the commercial after the national anthem at the Super Bowl this weekend,” Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent told lawmakers while testifying before the House Financial Services Committee earlier this week. The National Pulse reported in late January that Bessent, during a White House summit discussing the initiative, explained, “Trump Accounts are not a government program. They are a radically new platform that returns us to a social contract anchored in individual ownership where everyone starts life on an investing journey.”

According to the White House, a Trump Account opened with only the $1,000 federal seed money in 2026 will reach $5,800 by age 18 and $18,100 by age 28. However, families who contribute the maximum $5,000 annually will see the accounts reach an estimated $303,800 by age 18 and $1,091,900 by age 28—assuming contributions continue through age 18 and the account is converted to an IRA. Each account is established in the child’s name—though a parent or guardian will act as a custodian until the child reaches 18.

Already a number of major U.S. corporations have pledged to contribute seed money to Trump Accounts for the children of their employees. Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase, and Steak n Shake have each pledged a $1,000 match for accounts belonging to the children of their employees born between 2025 and 2028.

A record 127 million people worldwide tuned in to watch the Super Bowl last year, according Nielsen, with similar numbers expected again for this year’s match-up of the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks.

RFK Jr Panel Votes to End This Day-of-Birth Vaccination for Newborns.

PULSE POINTS

❓WHAT HAPPENED: Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s vaccine advisory committee voted to end the longstanding recommendation for all U.S. newborns to receive the hepatitis B vaccine on their day of birth.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), and acting CDC Director Jim O’Neill.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The vote took place Friday, following a delayed meeting earlier in the week.

🎯IMPACT: The recommendation, if adopted by the CDC, could shift vaccine policies, influence state guidelines, and impact insurance coverage.

IN FULL

A vaccine advisory panel appointed by Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has voted to recommend dropping the long-standing policy of injecting every U.S. newborn with the hepatitis B vaccine at birth. Under the new proposal, the shot would be given only to infants whose mothers are known to have hepatitis B or whose status is unknown. For all others, the choice would be left to parents and their physicians.

If parents decline the birth dose, the committee recommends starting the hepatitis B series no sooner than two months of age. Panel members contended that most newborns are at very low risk and questioned whether earlier studies adequately examined possible long-term side effects of vaccinated infants so early.

The decision came after a turbulent meeting in which the wording of the recommendation was changed repeatedly. This pushed the vote from Thursday to Friday.

Kennedy, a prominent vaccine skeptic, revamped the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) this year, removing all 17 previous members and replacing them with eight new ones dedicated to “evidence-based medicine” and “common sense.” Several of the appointees have previously voiced skepticism about vaccines.

Acting Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Jim O’Neill will now decide whether to adopt the panel’s recommendation. Although ACIP guidelines are not mandatory, they heavily influence state requirements, pediatric practice, and insurance reimbursement.

U.S. Intelligence Nets Cartel Baby Trafficking Leader ‘La Diabla.’

PULSE POINTS

âť“WHAT HAPPENED: Authorities captured cartel leader Martha Alicia Mendez Aguilar, known as “La Diabla”—”the She-Devil”—who is accused of running an infant trafficking ring in northern Mexico.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Mexican authorities, the U.S. Marshals Service, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Diplomatic Security Service, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and the Mexican Special Prosecutor’s Office for Women.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Aguilar was captured in September 2025, in northern Mexico.

đź’¬KEY QUOTE: “This scheme is an example of what terrorist cartels will do to diversify their revenue streams and finance operations.” – Joe Kent, National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC) Director

🎯IMPACT: The capture highlights Washington’s intensified targeting of Mexican cartels, with expanded U.S. counterterrorism efforts applied to human trafficking and cartel operations.

IN FULL

Martha Alicia MĂ©ndez Aguilar, known as “La Diabla” (“the She-Devil”), a senior figure in the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), has been arrested in a joint U.S.–Mexican operation. She is accused of running a horrifying infant trafficking ring in northern Mexico that targeted vulnerable pregnant women.

According to U.S. intelligence officials, women were lured to isolated areas where traffickers performed illegal caesarean section operations, resulting in the deaths of the mothers. Their organs were reportedly harvested, and the newborns were sold on the black market for as much as 250,000 pesos, or about $14,000.

The arrest followed an investigation led by the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC), which worked closely with Mexican law enforcement. NCTC Director Joe Kent praised the analysts involved, stating, “This scheme is an example of what terrorist cartels will do to diversify their revenue streams and finance operations.”

The operation also involved the U.S. Marshals Service, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in El Paso, the Diplomatic Security Service, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Mexican authorities executed the raid through the Special Prosecutor’s Office for Women.

MĂ©ndez Aguilar’s arrest comes amid a broader crackdown on cartels under a new U.S. policy that classifies major criminal organizations, including cartels, as foreign terrorist organizations (FTOs). The move follows a January executive order by President Donald J. Trump, expanding the use of counterterrorism tools to combat cartel activity.

Since then, over 21,000 cartel members and affiliates have been added to a classified terrorist database, generating more than 35,000 linked identities. U.S. authorities have denied entry to 6,525 individuals connected to these groups. Supporters argue the policy reflects the evolving threat posed by cartels, which increasingly use tactics similar to those of terrorist organizations.

Méndez Aguilar is not the only high-profile figure to be arrested this year in connection with cartel activity. In February, for instance, U.S. Border Patrol agents in Michigan detained Melquiades Salgado-Garza, identified as a leader of hitmen for the Gulf Cartel. In another case, former boxing champion Julio César Chávez Jr. was arrested by ICE in July for alleged ties to the Sinaloa Cartel. He was deported to Mexico in August and is awaiting trial on charges related to organized crime and arms trafficking.

Chicago Clinic Will Abort Babies Up to 34 Weeks.

PULSE POINTS

❓WHAT HAPPENED: A Chicago abortionist clinic is now killing unborn babies in the third trimester, making Illinois one of the few states to allow abortions up to approximately 34 weeks.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Hope Clinic, pro-life leaders, and Illinois lawmakers.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Hope Clinic’s new Chicago location opened on June 2, 2024, in the Uptown neighborhood.

💬KEY QUOTE: “Almost everyone recognizes the brutality of an abortion that late in pregnancy.” – Eric Scheidler, Pro-Life Action League.

🎯IMPACT: The facility plans to perform eight to ten late-term abortions weekly, with more than half of patients expected to come from states with stricter abortion laws.

IN FULL

Hope Clinic, a long-standing abortionist clinic in Illinois, has opened a second location in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood, offering to kill unborn babies in all trimesters, including up to approximately 34 weeks. The facility, which started operations on June 2, is now the only independent provider in the Midwest performing abortions at such an advanced stage of pregnancy.

The clinic announced its expansion on Instagram, stating, “Hope Clinic is now open in Chicago, IL, expanding our care through all trimesters! (And OMG we couldn’t be more excited).” Reasons for late-term abortions listed by the clinic include issues like health complications, but also personal changes of mind, such as “They just don’t want to be pregnant.”

Illinois law permits abortions past so-called fetal viability if a physician determines it is necessary for the life or health of the mother, including mental health. The law does not specify a gestational limit, allowing for significant latitude in such decisions. Dr. Erin King, the clinic’s chief medical officer, insists that the facility “absolutely” operates within the law and seeks to provide as many abortions as possible under its guidelines.

Pro-life advocates have expressed strong opposition to the facility’s operations. Eric Scheidler of the Pro-Life Action League commented, “Almost everyone recognizes the brutality of an abortion that late in pregnancy.” Mary Kate Zander of Illinois Right to Life highlighted concerns over the law’s mental health exemption, stating, “The overarching issue is that Illinois law is intentionally vague. Illinois state legislators don’t want to say that third trimester abortion is legal in Illinois. … But the reality is, [they] want women to be able to come to Illinois in the third trimester and get an abortion.”

The clinic expects to perform eight to ten abortions per week, primarily in the second and third trimesters, with over half of its patients anticipated to come from states with stricter abortion laws. In 2024, Illinois recorded the highest number of out-of-state abortions in the nation, with approximately 35,000 procedures performed for non-residents, according to the Guttmacher Institute.

Notably, premature babies can now be saved as early as 21 weeks in the U.S., with survival rates rising to 42 to 59 percent by 24 weeks and 67 to 76 percent at 25 weeks.

Pro-Lifers Cheer ‘Big, Beautiful Bill’ Slashing Planned Parenthood’s Medicaid Funding.

PULSE POINTS:

❓What Happened: House Republicans passed a budget bill blocking Medicaid funds from being used for abortions, including funding for Planned Parenthood.

👥 Who’s Involved: House Republicans, President Donald J. Trump, Students for Life Action, SBA Pro-Life America, Reproductive Freedom for All.

📍 Where & When: U.S. House of Representatives, Thursday morning.

đź’¬ Key Quote: “This is an historic win for Pro-Life Americans and children in the womb, as Planned Parenthood and Big Abortion has been cut out of the ‘Big, Beautiful Bill’ and has been told to go fund themselves.” – Kristan Hawkins, Students for Life Action.

⚠️ Impact: The bill now advances to the Senate, with potential implications for abortion funding and Planned Parenthood operations.

IN FULL:

The U.S. House of Representatives’ “big, beautiful” budget bill, championed by President Donald J. Trump, prohibits Medicaid funds from being used to orchestrate abortions, including through organizations like Planned Parenthood. The measure, supported by House Republicans and President Trump, now heads to the Senate for consideration.

Pro-life advocates welcomed the passage of the bill. Kristan Hawkins, President of Students for Life Action, described the move as a “historic win” for pro-life Americans. “Planned Parenthood and Big Abortion has been cut out of the ‘Big, Beautiful Bill’ and has been told to go fund themselves,” she said, emphasizing her organization’s commitment to urging the Senate to prioritize “life-saving care over the interests of the abortion lobby” when it considers the bill.

Marjorie Dannenfelser, President of SBA Pro-Life America, also praised the bill, calling it a “big step” toward ending taxpayer-funded support for the abortion industry. “Medicaid will be stronger for those who need it most,” Dannenfelser stated, adding that taxpayers should not be forced to support what a “scandal-ridden industry” focused on abortions, gender transitions, and political activism, rather than legitimate health services.

Dannenfelser urged Senate lawmakers to unite and move the legislation forward, stating that the lives of “more than 400,000 babies a year, their mothers, and countless American taxpayers” depend on its success.

Trump Backs Rep. Luna Over Proxy Voting for New Mothers.

PULSE POINTS:

âť“What Happened: President Donald J. Trump has come out in support of Rep. Anna Paulina Luna’s proposal to allow new mothers in Congress to vote by proxy.

👥 Who’s Involved: President Donald J. Trump, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL), Speaker Mike Johnson, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene.

📍 Where & When: United States Congress, Air Force One, April 3.

💬 Key Quote: “I’m going to let the Speaker make the decision, but I like the idea of being able to—if you’re having a baby, I think you should be able to call in and vote. I’m in favor of that.” — President Trump.

⚠️ Impact: The support from President Trump could lead to the proposal being supported in Congress, though he put the matter in the hands of Speaker Johnson, who is opposed to it.

IN FULL:

President Donald J. Trump has sided with Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) on a proposal the latter supports that would allow new mothers in Congress to vote by proxy rather than have to bring their babies to the legislature. “I don’t know why it’s controversial,” President Trump said while on Air Force One this week.

“I’m going to let the Speaker make the decision, but I like the idea of being able to—if you’re having a baby, I think you should be able to call in and vote. I’m in favor of that,” the America First leader added.

Luna, a mother herself, introduced the resolution allowing new mothers to vote by proxy. The debate over it has led to a delay in adopting the federal budget. Speaker Mike Johnson rejected the idea, claiming it was unconstitutional in a social media post—which he later deleted.

Johnson and Luna spoke this week about the proposal, and following President Trump’s remarks, Johnson seems to have somewhat softened his stance—but stated, “Democrats tried proxy voting before and it was terribly abused. We cannot open that Pandora’s box again.”

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) was one of the most vocal opponents of Luna’s proposal, accusing her of doing the bidding of the Democrats. “Serving in Congress is a privilege, not a career choice,” said Greene, who divorced the father of her children in 2022. “If you need a job with better perks like maternity leave then step down and allow someone else to serve in your place,” she added.

The endorsement from President Trump is a win for Rep. Luna, who quit the Freedom Caucus this week over the proxy voting issue.

Texas AG Paxton Arrests Abortionist.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has arrested Maria Margarita Rojas, a 48-year-old midwife who goes by “Dr. Maria,” for “providing illegal abortions and illegally operating a network of clinics” in Houston. She faces second-degree felony charges of illegal performance of an abortion and practicing medicine without a license.

In a statement noting that “Texas law holds abortion providers—not patients—criminally responsible for unlawful procedures,” AG Paxton emphasized that, in addition to criminal charges, abortionists are also subject to “civil penalties of at least $100,000 per violation” under the Texas Human Life Protection Act of 2021.

Rojas is alleged to have presided over the Clinica Waller Latinoamericana, Clinica Latinoamericana Telge, and Latinoamericana Medical Clinic, where she personally aborted babies and directed “unlawfully employed unlicensed individuals who falsely presented themselves as licensed medical professionals” to provide “treatment” to mothers-to-be.

“In Texas, life is sacred. I will always do everything in my power to protect the unborn, defend our state’s pro-life laws, and work to ensure that unlicensed individuals endangering the lives of women by performing illegal abortions are fully prosecuted,” said Paxton, warning: “Texas law protecting life is clear, and we will hold those who violate it accountable.”

Microplastics Cancer

Microplastics Linked to Higher Preterm Birth Risk, Scientists Warn.

U.S. researchers have found that micro- and nanoplastic particles are more concentrated in the placentae of infants born prematurely compared to those delivered at term. This conclusion comes from a study involving the analysis of 175 placentae, led by a team that includes maternal-fetal specialist Professor Kjersti Aagaard from Boston Children’s Hospital. The researchers investigated 100 placentae from term births and 75 from preterm births, the latter characterized by delivery prior to 37 weeks of gestation.

“This hints at the possibility that the accumulation of plastics could be contributing to the risk and occurrence of preterm birth,” Aagaard said in a statement.

The study utilized advanced mass spectrometry technology to quantify 12 types of plastic pollutants, such as polyethylene and polypropylene, present in the placenta samples. This technology provided a more precise measurement than previously possible, revealing higher plastic concentrations in preterm placentae. Levels detected were also greater compared to measurements in human blood reported in prior research.

Enrico Barrozo, a professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Baylor College of Medicine, expressed surprise at the findings, noting the unexpected nature of higher concentrations in preterm deliveries. The study proposes that plastic accumulation in the placenta might be linked to the risk of preterm birth, although the exact biological mechanism remains unknown. Aagaard highlighted that this could suggest plastic exposure plays a role in preterm birth by influencing inflammatory processes.

The study’s complete findings were disclosed at the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine’s annual meeting in Denver, Colorado. According to the research team, the study adds to prevailing concerns over the impact of ubiquitous plastic pollution on human health, including its association with conditions like heart disease and possibly stroke.

Abortion Claims 73 Million Lives Annually, Top Cause of Global Deaths.

Abortions are the leading cause of death worldwide, according to a World Health Organization (WHO) fact sheet from 2024. “Around 73 million induced abortions take place worldwide each year,” the WHO document stated.

In the United States alone, approximately 1,500 to 2,500 abortions occur daily. The Guttmacher Institute reports that in 2020, 930,160 abortions were performed in the U.S., for a rate of 14.4 per 1,000 women, making abortion the nation’s top cause of death. Data aggregator Worldometers notes, “Nearly 20 percent of all pregnancies in the USA (excluding miscarriages) end in abortion.”

When compared to other causes of death, such as cancer, which claimed 10 million lives globally in 2024, or smoking-related ailments, at 6.2 million, the abortion death toll is enormous.

Approximately 66 million unborn children have been aborted in America because of the Roe v. Wade decision in 1973, finally overturned thanks to Supreme Court justices appointed by President Donald J. Trump in 2022.

Pro-life advocates are set to gather in Washington, D.C., for the annual March for Life this month, urging renewed protections for the unborn in memory of the deadly Roe decision.

Muhammad Tops List as Most Popular Baby Boy Name in England.

Muhammad, the name of the Islamic prophet, has emerged as the most popular name for baby boys in England and Wales, surpassing Noah, according to the British government’s Office for National Statistics (ONS). In 2023, over 4,600 boys were named Muhammad, marking an increase of nearly 500 from the previous year. In contrast, the number of boys named Noah decreased to 4,382 from 4,586 in 2022. Oliver, ranking third, also experienced a slight decline.

While various spellings of Muhammad have collectively been popular for over a decade, this is the first time a single spelling has topped the list. When all alternative spellings, such as Muhammed, Mohammad, and Mohammed, are considered, the name has been the most popular for boys in England and Wales for years.

Mohammed first appeared in the top 100 rankings in 1924 and has risen steadily since the 1960s. However, Britain is not the only country that has seen a surge in popularity of the name of the Islamic prophet in recent years. In Germany, it was the most popular name for baby boys in both Berlin and Hamburg in 2023.

Even Ireland, at the western edge of Europe, has seen a rise in baby boys with the Islamic name. In 2022, it became the most popular name in the country’s fourth-largest city, Galway.

Meanwhile, in France, men named Mohammed were the most commonly arrested individuals during the riots that gripped the country following the fatal shooting of a migration-background teenager in Nanterre by police last year.
