Trump Said There Isn’t ‘Much Democracy’ In America. Most People Agree.

Former President Donald Trump echoed the sentiment of a majority of Americans on Sunday when he told NBC’s Kristen Welker that he doesn’t consider the United States “to have much of a democracy right now.” Trump argued that Democrats and the corporate media have undermined the country’s political norms, stating, “They indict their political opponents. Free speech is shot because the press is very dishonest, very dishonest.”

Even left-wing surveys – such as a recent one conducted by “The 19th” – appear to agree with the 45th President’s bleak assessment.

When asked “How well is America’s democracy working for you?” a net 52 percent of respondents answered “Not Well,” with just 12 percent said it was working “very well”.

Along demographic lines, The 19th/SurveyMonkey poll appears to show faith in American democracy is reflective of perceived changes in economic status and cultural representation rather than substantive political participation. Nearly 60 percent of Asians in the United States believe that democracy is working for them. The sentiment is shared by 58 percent of Blacks. Executive officers of Indian-origin now dominate many of the nation’s top tech companies, including some of the highest paid like Alphabet (Google’s parent company) CEO Sundar Pichai and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella. Black Americans, meanwhile, have seen record low unemployment and increased social assistance.

White and Hispanic Americans are less confident in American democracy. Hispanics are evenly split in terms of confidence. Whites are pessimistic with 57 percent saying democracy isn’t working well for them, and just 41 percent saying it is working well. Philip Bump at the Washington Post chalks this disparity up to former President Trump’s claims the 2020 election was stolen. In reality, the declining White population combined with the economic collapse of the white working class goes much further to explain the less than confident outlook in democracy.

Indiana Senator Mike Braun Endorses Trump for President.

United States Senator Mike Braun (R-IN) has endorsed Donald Trump for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination. In an interview, Braun said, “Donald Trump is a businessman and outsider… Donald Trump is the candidate capable of returning us to the America First policies that delivered unmatched prosperity and security for the American people,” before adding, “I give Donald Trump my endorsement for President of the United States.”

First elected in 2018, Braun became a staunch ally of former President Trump in the U.S. Senate – supporting Trump’s America First agenda including replacing the NAFTA free trade agreement with the more U.S. friendly USMCA, funding the construction of the border wall, and standing with Trump in opposing the corrupt 2020 elections. Senator Braun also opposed both efforts by Democrats to impeach former President Trump. In December of 2022, Braun announced he would not seek re-election to the U.S. Senate and would instead run for Governor of Indiana.

Trump has expanded his lead over the 2024 Republican primary field in recent weeks and additional endorsements from national conservative leaders are expected. Currently Trump has double the Iowa caucuses pledges of support than Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. Polling indicates that Trump is running ahead of his nearest competitors by well over 20 points in each of the early Republican primary states.

The Media Hyped a FedSoc Founder Who Claimed Trump Was Disqualified From Running. He’s Now Changed His Mind.

Steven Calabresi – the law professor who co-founded the conservative Federalist Society legal organization – has conceded that Section 3 of the 14th Amendment does not in fact bar former President Donald Trump from the presidential ballot, despite claiming in a much-hyped op-ed from August that this was the case.

The Northwestern University law professor had been an outspoken proponent of the legal theory that Trump was barred from running for office on the grounds that he incited an insurrection on January 6th, 2021 – in violation of a Civil War era constitutional provision. It’s an initially floated by law professors William Baude and Michael Stokes Paulsen, with Calabresi quickly popularizing it.

Historically, Section 3 of the 14th Amendment was meant to prevent former members of the Confederacy from holding office after the Civil War. The provision, cited by Calabresi, states that anyone who has taken an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution “…as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State..” and subsequently engages in insurrection or rebellion against the United States cannot then hold federal or state office.

The three men were originally in agreement that “an officer of the United States” included individuals elected as either President or Vice-President. However, Calabresi now says he believes that the President and Vice-President are not, due to “a technicality in the drafting of the disqualification clause of Section 3 of the 14th Amendment”, “officers” – that term being reserved for positions appointed by the President, rather than the President himself.

Additionally he concedes the events of January 6th do not constitute an ‘insurrection’. Calabresi credits former U.S. Attorney General Michael Mukasey with changing his mind.

New Hampshire Secretary of State David Scanlan has already rejected calls to disqualify Trump, via the 14th Amendment, from the state’s ballot.

Trump Has 2X The Iowa Caucus Pledges as DeSantis Despite Being Outspent 5-to-1.

Former President Donald Trump is intensifying his campaign efforts in Iowa, in a bid to “put the nail in the coffin” of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’s campaign, with his campaign reporting over 27,500 signed caucus pledge cards in the state, while Team DeSantis stands at just over 13,000.

Trump is currently in Iowa by around 30 points, though his campaign staff insist they are not “taking anything for granted” with remarks planned for the Grand River Conference Center in Dubuque this Wednesday.

DeSantis’ Never Back Down SuperPAC has outspent the pro-Trump MAGA Inc. PAC by $15.6 million to $2.9 million – or over five times over.

Opponents of Trump are targeting evangelical voters in the state, attempting to portray the 45th President as pro-transgender and LGBT. Campaign mailers have hit some Iowa homes calling Trump a “transgender trailblazer”. Despite the attacks, polls show evangelical voters still prefer Trump.

“No candidate has ever won Iowa [GOP caucus] by more than 12 points and even the most conservative polls have us at double that margin,” said Alex Latcham, the Trump campaign’s early states director. “But I try to continuously remind our team and our staff and everybody that we do not take it for granted.”

Pence: Trump Isn’t Conservative Because He is Anti-War.

Former Vice President Mike Pence has suggested that Donald Trump cannot make any promises to govern as a conservative if he is re-elected in the 2024 presidential election because the former President would implement a quick end to the war in Ukraine.

Pence claimed on CNN on Sunday that by ending the bloodshed between Russia and Ukraine, the 45th President would be “embracing the politics of appeasement on the world stage [and] walking away from our role as leader of the free world.”

The ex-VP intimated that the only conservative position, therefore, was a continuation of the war.

“Look, the only way this war would end in a day, as my former running mate says, is if you let Vladimir Putin have what he wants, which, frankly, other candidates for the Republican nomination are advocating as well,” Pence continued, before describing Trump’s adoption of the same populism Pence himself embraced in 2016 as a growing threat.

Donald Trump announced his intention earlier this summer to bring about an end to the Ukrainian war within just 24 hours after re-entering the White House in January 2025, with the number of casualties on both sides continuing to grow. It is believed the Ukrainians have lost around 200,000 soldiers killed or wounded, and the Russians 300,000 similarly killed or wounded since the war began in February last year.

The former Vice President is not alone in fearing a swift peace if Trump were re-elected, as the former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson similarly implored the former President not to abandon the United States’ support for Ukraine.

LISTEN: DeSantis Backers Jenna Ellis & Steve Deace Rant About Founding Fathers Being in Hell for Not Repenting Over Slavery.

Jenna Ellis, a former Trump lawyer turned hysterical anti-Trumper, referred to the 45th President as “malignant” during an unhinged rant involving establishment Republican Steve Deace, who bizarrely suggested America’s Founding Fathers have gone to hell.

Deace, who wanted Trump to lose in 2016, now supports Ron DeSantis for the 2024 GOP nomination. The Florida Governor recently tweeted that he was “proud” to have received Deace’s endorsement. In the clip below, Deace can be heard insisting:

“[W]e need to remember there are Founding Fathers who are in hell for all of eternity, who did some great work, but they didn’t bow the knee to Jesus either. They didn’t repent of owning slaves either. And they’re in hell now because of where — because of that, those decisions. And so will [Trump] be.”

Ellis, agreed with Deace, responding: “Yeah, really incredibly well said Steve, and I think that you perfectly articulated exactly how I as a voter feel.” She added: “Why I have chosen to distance is because of that, frankly, malignant narcissistic tendency to simply say that [Trump’s] never done anything wrong.”

Ellis is one of the 18 associates of the former President who have been criminally indicted by the Democratic Fulton County District Fani Willis in Georgia. In April 2022, she offered to defend the pro-LGBT, groomer-friendly Disney Corporation against DeSantis’s actions against them. She has since been spotted at Disney parks wearing apparel connoting a membership of their private ’33 Club’ which costs $60,000 to join, as well as an annual $25,000 in dues.

Ellis recently started a crowdfunder for her legal bills, raising over $200,000 so far, equivalent to almost 10 years of ’33 Club’ membership dues. Ellis has since tweeted at The National Pulse staff to admit that despite posing as a 33 Club member, she is in fact not one.

Biden Is Trying to Make Globalist Government Employees Unfireable.

President Joe Biden’s White House proposed a change to federal statute on Friday that aims to make it more difficult for future presidents to fire federal workers and rein in the globalist deep state. The rule change would extend job protections for career federal employees even if their position is reclassified and explicitly limits the President’s ability to remove those protections to only appointed positions.

In October of 2020, President Trump signed an executive order establishing the Schedule F classification for federal employment. Federal workers who held influence over policy could be assigned the Schedule F designation, effectively making them at-will employees and easier to fire. The order was issued in response to efforts by some career federal employees to resist and hinder President Trump’s policy agenda.

Biden’s increase in federal worker protections might slow down the re-implementation of Schedule F, but it won’t stop it, according to former Trump administration official James Sherk.

“The Biden administration can, if they want, make removing intransigent or poorly performing senior bureaucrats harder on themselves,” said Sherk in a recent interview, adding, “The next administration can just as easily rescind those restrictions. With regards to reissuing Schedule F, this proposed rule would be a speed bump, but nothing more.”

Texas AG Ken Paxton Acquitted on ALL Impeachment Charges.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has been acquitted of all 16 charges against him, following an impeachment campaign leveled against him by establishment Republicans who partnered with left-wing “impeachment managers” to try and remove the pro-Trump figure.

Texas state senators voted Saturday morning to acquit Paxton on 16 articles, including “disregard of official duty”, as well as “misapplication of public resources”, “constitutional bribery”, “false statements in official records”, “conspiracy and attempted conspiracy”, “dereliction of duty”, “unfitness for office”, and “abuse of public trust”.

Paxton was not present for the verdict, and his wife, Senator Angela Paxton, was prohibited from voting.

Four original articles were held in abeyance, with the Senate dismissing them in a vote conducted after the acquittal.

The National Pulse previously reported on how impeachment managers had tried to hide evidence from Paxton, so as to stymie his defense. After our report, Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick imposed a discovery order on the state’s House of Representatives, demanding they reveal they basis for the impeachment of Attorney General Ken Paxton.

Daily Caller ‘Fact Checker’ Is Socialist Who Attacks Trump, Posts About ‘Queer Liberation’.

A ‘fact check’ reporter employed and aggregated by conservative news sites appears to be an avowed radical leftist. Anna Mock, a reporter for The Daily Caller’s “Check Your Fact” website has posted political support for U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) – a self-described socialist – as well as being a proponent of far-left unionization efforts.

Despite the potential for political bias, Mock regularly is the source for fact checks of former President Donald Trump, Vivek Ramaswamy, and other conservative leaders. Mock also felt compelled to defend the globalist Atlantic magazine from what was clearly a parody making it appear the outlet believed orcas, an aquatic mammal, were a new white supremacist threat.

A review of Mock’s social media feed on X (formerly Twitter) shows her having retweeted multiple left-wing political accounts including that of Sen. Sanders, anti-Trump Jim Acosta, and the South Carolina branch of the Industrial Workers of the World – a radical labor union that supports “revolutionary industrial unionism”, “queer liberation“, and has ties to socialist and anarchist organizations.

While most of Mock’s fact checks are of clear satire and parodies, the fact that she is employed by a supposedly right-leaning website to “fact check” conservatives is concerning. The Daily Caller has previously employed CNN’s Oliver Darcy, Kaitlin Collins, and Michelle Fields.

A fact check Mock authored in late July, entitled “No, Planned Parenthood Does Not Aid Sex Traffickers” was pulled from the Check Your Fact website – the editor’s note reading: “Check Your Fact is retracting this fact check article about a Live Action claim about Planned Parenthood. After further review, we found this article did not meet editorial standards.”

Check Your Fact “…is a for-profit subsidiary wholly owned by The Daily Caller, Inc. The majority owner of The Daily Caller, Inc. is co-founder and publisher Neil Patel.” Fact checks from the site are often aggregated by other conservative news sites like Conservative Review, owned by Blaze Media LLC, founded by leading 2016 Never Trump activist Glenn Beck.

Trump Dominates in South Carolina, DeSantis in 4th.

Former President Donald Trump is leading the Republican field in South Carolina, according to a new poll conducted by The Washington Post and Monmouth University. The poll reveals that 46 percent of potential voters back Trump, while the state’s former governor, Nikki Haley, follows in second place with 18 percent support. Senator Tim Scott received 10 percent of the support, and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is in fourth place on 9 percent.

The poll also found that 57 percent of GOP voters in South Carolina believe Joe Biden won the 2020 presidential election due to voter fraud, compared to 36 percent who believe the Democrat “won fair and square”. The figures are 87 percent versus seven percent among Trump supporters.

Examining South Carolina Republicans’ views on some specific issues, the pollsters found 49 percent believe “Whites losing out due to preferences for Blacks and Hispanics” is a bigger problem than “Blacks and Hispanics losing out due to preferences for Whites,” compared to 22 percent who hold the opposite view. Fifty-eight percent believe abortion should be illegal.
