What Women Want: Trump, Way More Than DeSantis, Says Poll.

New polling from several key primary states shows that former President Donald Trump’s commanding lead over Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is primarily fueled by the support of Republican women. In Iowa, Trump holds a 13 point edge with women over DeSantis – while in New Hampshire and Arizona, Trump holds a 26 point and 30 point edge respectively.

These numbers up-end the claims made by “RINO” critics of Trump, that the former President struggles to gain support from female voters. The most vocal anti-Trump Republicans go-so-far as to argue that the only way to win over women voters is to reject Trump and his America First policies all together.

Republican women believe that Trump, not DeSantis, is more likely to stand up against the ‘woke’ agenda – while some women primary voters are unconvinced about DeSantis’s fight with Disney. James Johnson, co-founder of J.L. Partners – the firm that conducted the poll – notes: “Republican women are Trump’s army… It isn’t that women are more conservative than men, but they are much more likely to say they prioritize a candidate who will stand up against woke values than one who can beat President Biden.”

Former President Trump himself has called to task the GOP establishment and media criticism of his support among women, stating at a recent campaign rally, “Remember, they like to go around: ‘Well, will Trump get the independents? Will Trump get the women? You know what the women want? The women want safety. They want to have a border they want to have low taxes, low interest rates.'”

DOJ Fines Musk’s X (Twitter) for Fighting Unconstitutional Trump Warrant.

Court documents show Elon Musk’s X (formerly Twitter) tried to fight a DOJ search warrant filed by the foreign-dwelling, Obama-linked “special prosecutor” Jack Smith, who was seeking access to former President Donald Trump’s infamous social media account. X’s primary objection was to an unusual gag order attached to the warrant, which would have prevented the social media firm notifying Trump that the DOJ now had access to his account, including private, direct messages.

Lawyers for X argued that the order attached to the warrant violated the First Amendment. When the social media company delayed handing over the account access to the DOJ by an additional three days, a federal judge held the company in contempt and fined them $350,000. After the fine, X complied with the warrant and gag order.

On January 8, 2021, President Donald Trump was permanently suspended from Twitter (now X) following the events of January 6th.  Twitter, then under the leadership of its former-CEO and co-founder Jack Dorsey, caved to left-wing demands that the President be suspended for inciting violence, despite the fact that Trump had authored several tweets calling for peaceful and non-violent protests. The next day, Trump made a speech condemning the reports of “violence, lawlessness, and mayhem” that had occurred around the Capitol.

When Elon Musk took over Twitter on October 27, 2022 he indicated he would explore reinstating Trump’s Twitter account. The former President’s account was reinstated just under a month later on November 19, 2022 after Musk had asked Twitter users their opinion via a Twitter poll – 51.8 percent of participants supported reinstating the account that Jack Smith and Joe Biden’s DOJ now have access to.

NYT: Don’t Televise Trump Trials Because It Might Sway Public Opinion.

The New York Times has warned that allowing the public to watch Donald Trump’s Jan 6 trial on television may lead to a shift in public opinion in the former President’s favor. Instead, the paper insists Americans should get their information on the proceedings through “experts”, echoing former CNN anchor Chris Cuomo’s ludicrous claims after the release of the Hillary Clinton e-mails in 2016.

Author Nick Ackerman, a New York lawyer, claims the former president “could, through gestures or well-timed outbursts, try to use the broadcast to sway public opinion” – as if it would be wrong for a presidential challenger who believes his prosecution is politically motivated to make his case to the public – and undermine the trial’s supposed “solemnity”.

“Televising the Trump trials is no substitute for contemporaneous expert legal reporting and analysis to provide the public with real transparency,” he argues, suggesting that, rather than being able to watch the trial unfold directly and make their own judgments, the American people should have their information on it filtered through various partisan talking heads on networks like CNN and MSNBC – and perhaps New York Times guest essayists like himself, too.

Ackerman also cited his experience trying “mafia and organized crime cases” as a reason not to televise the trial, harping on themes such as “witness intimidation”.

FEC Tells DeSantis 29% of His Donations Can’t Be Used in GOP Primary.

Ron DeSantis’s presidential campaign has been informed by the Federal Election Commission (FEC) that $2.6 million of his donations have been incorrectly labeled for use in the presidential primary, and must instead be only used for general election funds. This strips almost another 30 percent of campaign cash away from the Florida Governor’s coffers, already threatened by overspending and a drying up of donations.

The financial state of Ron DeSantis’s presidential campaign has many political observers wondering if the Florida Governor can even make it to the Iowa Caucuses in January.

According to FEC data, the DeSantis campaign had just over $9 million cash-on-hand at the beginning of July. However, the FEC letter detailing the incorrectly labeled donations also showed that actual cash-on-hand number was much lower, around $6.6 million – and there are some indications that the number may yet be even lower than that.

The lack of cash only compounds the set backs the DeSantis campaign has suffered over the past few weeks, culminating in the demotion of campaign manager Generra Peck on Tuesday, who is replaced by a 35-year-old Rubio-world lawyer who has never run a political campaign before.

‘Leaked’ Dem Memo Accepts Trump’s Populist, America First Stance Is A Vote Winner.

The campaign arm of Congressional Democrats plans to attack House Republicans using populist benchmarks, per a memo from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC). The strategy revolves around a paid media campaign highlighting votes that threatened U.S. manufacturing jobs “in states like Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas,” as well as cutting veteran’s services, defunding law enforcement, gutting manufacturing jobs, and even – ironically – upholding a culture of corruption in Washington.

The memo even mentions Republicans who ignore “the kitchen table issues like lowering costs and creating good-paying jobs,” in a sure sign that even the left, ahead of establishment Republicans, understand that Donald Trump’s America First populist message is a vote winner.

One specific example is H.R.2811 (the Limit, Save, Grow Act of 2023) – legislation they refer to as the ‘Default on America Act’ – alongside a handful of bills that comprise the House GOP budget proposal.

The DCCC memo also details a plan to drive a wedge between more establishment candidates and the GOP’s pro-Trump MAGA base. The memo appears to tacitly acknowledge that former President Donald Trump and his populist policies remain popular among both Republican, independent, and even Democrat voters – and that House Republicans who have departed from that message in favor of a return to Romney-Ryanism are vulnerable.

The memo makes no mention of a scenario where long-shot candidate Ron DeSantis is the Republican nominee, though it is reasonable to assume Democrats would his less-than-populist votes in Congress – including support for U.S. job outsourcing via Obama’s Trans Pacific Partnership – to paint the candidate as out-of-step with his own base.

Judge Bizarrely Claims Trump Fingered E Jean Carroll So He Can’t Sue Her.

Federal judge Lewis Kaplan has dismissed former President Donald Trump’s counter-defamation lawsuit against rape accuser E Jean Carroll, arguing bizarrely that Carroll’s claim that Trump penetrated her with his fingers is enough to substantiate the claim on Monday. Kaplan also rejected Trump’s request for a new trial in July.

“The jury’s verdict in Carroll II establishes, as against Mr Trump, the fact that Mr Trump ‘raped her’, albeit digitally rather than with his penis. Thus, it establishes against him the substantial truth of Ms Carroll’s ‘rape’ accusations,” Judge Kaplan explained.

“In consequence, there is no merit to Mr Trump’s argument that the jury’s finding on Penal Law ‘rape’ question established that Ms Carroll’s statements were false even if her statements reasonably could be construed as referring to ‘rape’ in that specialized Penal Law sense,” Kaplan added.

Trump’s legal proceedings appertained statements made by Carroll on CNN after the jury’s decision. Although the court cleared the former President of rape, she insisted once again that he raped her in the Bergdorf Goodman department store in New York, stating: “Oh yes he did, oh yes he did.”

Carroll has already filed further legal proceedings in New York, seeking another $10 million for defamation. The trial is scheduled to take place on January 15 next year.

The Back Up Plan! Youngkin Meets GOP Mega Donors in Hamptons.

Governor Glenn Youngkin headed to the Hamptons this weekend. Not for a relaxing day at the beach, but for a private dinner at the home of Wilbur Ross, Donald Trump’s former Commerce Secretary, who amassed a room of GOP mega donors to meet with the Virginia Republican.

Not officially billed as a fundraiser, Gov. Youngkin is said to have impressed dinner attendees – reportedly a who’s-who of the moneyed, establishment conservative class.

State elections for the Virginia legislature occur in off-years with Republicans currently holding a four seat majority in the House of Delegates (the lower legislative house) and the Democrats holding a four seat majority in the State Senate. While the purpose of Ross’s dinner for Youngkin was ostensibly to raise funds for these Virginia GOP election efforts, rumors abound that the governor may also be eying a potential run for President in 2024 – especially as the establishment frets over the collapse of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

Youngkin – a former hedge fund CEO – rode a wave of parental discontent to the Virginia governor’s mansion after a male high school student, who would often wear a woman’s skirt, was accused and later convicted of sexually assaulting two female Loudon County, Virginia high school students in the girl’s bathroom.

Ross, a billionaire businessman, drew fire as Commerce Secretary for the frequency of naps he took during the work day. It was rumored Ross’s staff would have to schedule the Secretary’s day around nap times and that even then the octogenarian would nod-off during meetings. During the Trump administration, Ross often took a back seat to other figures, with the U.S.’s pre-pandemic economic boom often being credited to Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and former President Trump himself.

DeSantis Breaks With 70% of Republicans in Telling NBC ‘Trump Lost’.

Ron DeSantis has broken with 70 percent of the Republican base, telling NBC News, “Of course [Trump] lost: Joe Biden’s the President.” The stunning remarks, though caveated with complaints about mail-in voting and ballot harvesting, are unlikely to endear DeSantis to his party’s voters, a majority of whom are already soured by the Florida Governor’s lackluster campaign and toxic online strategies.

DeSantis, who has spent the last two weeks watching some of his chief donors abandon his beleaguered presidential campaign, told NBC News: “Whoever puts their hand on the Bible on Jan. 20 every four years is the winner,” before being pressed for a “yes or no” answer as to whether or not Trump lost.

“No, of course he lost: Joe Biden’s the President,” he shot back, before going on to blame Trump for “turn[ing] the government over to Fauci” and signing the CARES Act which funded mail-in ballot expansion. In reality, the CARES Act was supported by almost every Republican in Congress – a fact which seems to have escaped DeSantis’s attention.

DeSantis is currently projected to lose in every state in the Republican nominee race to Donald Trump and is forecasted just 159 delegates votes, trailing the former President by over 2,000.

Chris Christie Went to Ukraine But No One Cares.

Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie made an unannounced visit to Ukraine this week, where he met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. While touring the region around the capitol city Kiev, Christie told the Ukrainian president, “There are hundreds of millions of people in our country who support you.”

At home in the United States, public opinion appears to be turning against the Biden regime and continued financial and material support for Ukraine. Recent polling suggests over 55 percent of Americans now oppose sending more aid to the Ukrainians – hardly hundreds-of-millions.

The continued stalemate in Ukraine has seen even its Western European allies become increasingly frustrated with the lack an effective counter-offensive against Russian defensive positions. To compound matters for the Ukrainians, President Zelensky’s habit of making aggressive demands for financial and military support has rankled even Poland.

Continued support for Ukraine is one area where presidential hopeful Chris Christie hopes to be able to draw a contrast with the dominant GOP front-runner, former President Donald Trump. Christie has thrown his full weight behind continued U.S. funding and support for the Ukrainian military, while Trump has called for Ukraine and Russia to come to the negotiating table to bring about a swift end to the bloodshed and loss of innocent civilian lives.

With polling showing upwards of 70 percent of GOP voters want the U.S. to focus less on overseas conflicts and the former New Jersey governor consistently hovering in the single digits in the GOP primary one must ask: does anyone actually care that Chris Christie went to Ukraine?

NYT’s NeverTrumper Asks if Globalists Are in Fact the ‘Bad Guys’.

New York Times NeverTrumper columnist David Brooks published a rare, self-reflective column this week asserting that he and our America’s political, corporate, and media elite may in fact actually be the “Bad Guys.”

Brooks’s column is served up with his usual overbearing degree of pseudo-moralistic handwringing, lamenting the overlooked virtues of the American elite and the dangers of Donald Trump. But buried in its verbosity is a recognition that the U.S. elite have enriched themselves at the expense of Americans middle and working classes:

Armed with all kinds of economic, cultural and political power, we support policies that help ourselves. Free trade makes the products we buy cheaper, and our jobs are unlikely to be moved to China. Open immigration makes our service staff cheaper, but new, less-educated immigrants aren’t likely to put downward pressure on our wages.

The column goes on to point out that the elites’ social libertinism has resulted in the breakdown of the American family with an increased rate of divorce and out-of-wedlock births among the non-elite classes. It should be noted that in 2013, David Brooks divorced his wife of twenty-seven years, Jane ‘Sarah’ Hughes. In 2017 David Brooks married his research assistant Anne Snyder. She was 32 at the time, Brooks was 55.

The reaction to Brooks’s column has varied on social media. The neoliberal Tax Foundation’s Alan Cole, a self-described neoliberal, perhaps unintentionally re-enforced the thrust of the columns complaint in a thread on X (formerly Twitter): “Mentioning Trump support invites a comparison that makes it easy to diminish the examples raised. Lots of readers will say “sure, some of these things are bad, but Trump is far worse.”

Glenn Greenwald noted that Brooks is correct that the elite media focus on cultural and ethnic newsroom diversity has come at the expense of economic diversity in the newsroom, making our media blind to the experience of the American working class. And perhaps as expected, famed American writer and unhinged social media liberal Joyce Carol Oates posted: “[T]hat David Brooks column in which a handwringing pretend-liberal blames liberal “elites” like himself for the racism, misogyny, anti-intellectual, anti-science, anti-education bigotry of T***p followers like a mugging victim blaming himself for being mugged.”
