The United States federal government-funded Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty broadcasting agency is suing President Donald J. Trump over an executive order mandating cuts to the organization’s parent agency, the U.S. Agency for Global Media (USAGM). Over a week ago, President Trump signed an executive order targeting numerous federal agencies for staffing cuts, including USAGM and subagencies such as Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, Voice of America (VoA), and Radio Free Asia.
Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty is the first of the USAGM agencies to sue the Trump White House over the force reduction order. Filed last week, the lawsuit alleges President Trump and his administration have violated the Constitution and federal law by withholding funding allocated by Congress. Along with President Trump, USAGM senior advisor Kari Lake is named in the lawsuit.
“We’re living off of our savings right now,” Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty president Stephen Capus said in a recent mediainterview. He added: “And we are in a position where we’re going to have to take some pretty drastic actions in the not-too-distant future.”
At the heart of the lawsuit is the question of presidential impoundments—where the executive branch either withholds or does not fully allocate funding appropriated by Congress. While Congress over 50 years ago legislatively moved to restrict the president’s power to withhold funding explicitly appropriated by the legislative branch, the question of impoundments remains an open one. The Supreme Court has avoided definitely settling the matter, though the judicial body has ruled that presidents cannot unreasonably withhold Congressionally appropriated funding.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has announced an agreement with the University of Maine System (UMS) to adhere to President Donald J. Trump’s executive order restricting biological male athletes from participating in women’s sports. UMS, comprising eight public universities in Maine, faced a suspension of federal funding from the USDA last week amid a dispute between President Trump and Maine’s Democrat Governor Janet Mills.
“After the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) initiated a Title IX compliance review regarding federal funding, the University of Maine System (UMaine) has clearly communicated its compliance with Title IX’s requirement to protect equal opportunities for women and girls to compete in safe and fair sports, as articulated in President Donald J. Trump’s Executive Order,” the USDA said in a statement, warning: “Any false claim by the UMaine can, and will, result in onerous and even potentially criminal financial liability.”
In fiscal year 2024, the USDA awarded nearly $29.78 million to UMS for research initiatives. The USDA claims to have directed over $100 million to the system in recent years. Concurrently, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) changed its gender eligibility policy to disallow athletes born male from competing in women’s sports.
Trump previously threatened to cut funding to Maine if male athletes were permitted to partake in girls’ sports. During a White House event in late February, President Trump pressed Gov. Mills on whether her state would comply with his order, with the Maine Democrat insisting she would abide by state and federal laws. “Well, we are the federal law… You’d better do it, because you’re not going to get any federal funding at all if you don’t,” Trump replied.
Following the exchange, the U.S. Department of Education launched an investigation into potential Title IX violations by the state. Meanwhile, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) found that Maine’s allowance of male athletes in women’s sports infringes upon Title IX, threatening to involve the Department of Justice (DOJ) if the state does not comply with Trump’s order.

President Donald J. Trump’s push to reduce federal government waste, fraud, and abuse will see the Small Business Administration (SBA) reduce its workforce by over 40 percent. The impending cuts, which aim to save more than $435 million annually, will impact roughly 6,500 bureaucrats.
“The strategic reorganization will begin a turnaround for the agency by restoring the efficiency of the first Trump Administration, as well as its focus on promoting small businesses,” the SBA said in a statement, adding: “Core services to the public, including the agency’s loan guarantee and disaster assistance programs, as well as its field and veteran operations, will not be impacted.”
Kelly Loeffler assumed leadership as the SBA’s administrator following her Senate confirmation in February. In a video message shared on social media, she emphasized the need for “rightsizing” due to inefficiencies stemming from the agency’s expansion during the pandemic.
“Since the pandemic, the SBA has doubled its workforce, expanding in size, scope, and spending with miserable results,” SBA Administrator Loeffler said. “That’s why change is coming to the SBA… This agency is done wasting millions of tax dollars to fund a progressive pandemic-era bureaucracy.”
“We will not allow fiscal mismanagement to threaten our loan programs or criminals to get away with fraud. But we will evaluate every program and expenditure, and we will rightsize the agency to transform the SBA into a high-efficiency engine for America’s entrepreneurs and taxpayers,” she added.
President Trump recently announced a shift in responsibilities, assigning the SBA to manage federal student loan programs. This decision follows an order to downsize the Department of Education, which has traditionally overseen these programs.

A $1.4 trillion investment framework in the United States has been agreed with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) after top leaders from the Gulf state met with President Donald J. Trump at the White House earlier this week. According to the White House, the agreement will see a significant increase in existing UAE investments in the American economy—with a focus on artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors, and energy technologies.
“The evening demonstrated the long-standing ties and bonds of friendship between our countries. UAE and the U.S. have long been partners in the work to bring peace and security to the Middle East and the World,” President Trump said after his Tuesday meeting with UAE National Security Advisor H.H. Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He added: “Discussions also included ways for our countries to increase our partnership for the advancing of our economic and technological futures.”
The leadership of several UAE sovereign wealth funds and corporations joined President Trump and Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed.
The framework commits the UAE to several significant American technology investments, including a $25 billion joint venture between the UAE investment fund ADQ and U.S. partner Energy Capital Partners to expand U.S. energy infrastructure and data centers. Additionally, XRG—an energy investment firm owned by the state-owned Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. (ADNOC)—has committed “to support U.S. natural gas production and exports with an investment in the Next Decade LNG export facility in Texas.” Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi Developmental Holding Company (ADQ) will form a $1.2 billion mining partnership with Orion Resource Partners aimed at extracting critical minerals.
Other investments include the construction of an aluminum smelter and an AI Infrastructure Partnership, which aims to mobilize $100 billion in investments to build next-generation data centers.

President Donald J. Trump has responded to reports that King Charles III intends to make a “secret offer” to him for the U.S. to join the British Commonwealth as an associate member. Properly known as the Commonwealth of Nations, the organization comprises 56 members—almost all former members of the British Empire— who collaborate on a range of issues and host cultural events such as the Commonwealth Games, modeled on the Olympics.
U.S. associate membership of the Commonwealth was first floated during President Trump’s first term, with the Royal Commonwealth Society (RCS) pitching the idea in 2017 via Nigel Farage, an ally of the America First leader who now leads Britain’s Reform Party. Society members eagerly await a potential invitation from King Charles during Trump’s upcoming state visit to the United Kingdom.
A source said: “This is being discussed at the highest levels. It would be a wonderful move that would symbolize Britain’s close relationship with the U.S. Donald Trump loves Britain and has great respect for the Royal Family, so we believe he would see the benefits of this.” The insider highlighted Trump’s well-known admiration for Britain and its monarchy, with his Scottish mother, Mary, having been a staunch royalist.
Responding to these reports on his Truth Social platform, President Trump wrote: “I Love King Charles. Sounds good to me!”

President Donald J. Trump is publicly dismissing a report from The New York Times suggesting that Elon Musk will be briefed at the Pentagon on Friday concerning U.S. military strategies in the event of a conflict with China. Trump labeled the report as “fake news” on his social media platform, Truth Social, asserting that such a briefing would not occur. He emphasized that China would not be a topic of discussion during Musk’s scheduled visit to the Pentagon.
“The Fake News is at it again, this time the Failing New York Times. They said, incorrectly, that Elon Musk is going to the Pentagon tomorrow to be briefed on any potential ‘war with China.’ How ridiculous?” Trump wrote late Thursday evening. “China will not even be mentioned or discussed. How disgraceful it is that the discredited media can make up such lies. Anyway, the story is completely untrue!!!”
PENTAGON: ‘FAKE NEWS.’
Meanwhile, Trump’s Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, also refuted the claims on social media, stating that Musk’s visit is intended for discussions on innovation and efficiency, not secret military strategies concerning China. “We look forward to welcoming [Elon Musk] to the Pentagon tomorrow,” Hegseth wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “But the fake news delivers again — this is NOT a meeting about ‘top secret China war plans.’ It’s an informal meeting about innovation, efficiencies & smarter production. Gonna be great!”
The controversy has sparked concern among some Democratic lawmakers about potential conflicts of interest due to Musk’s involvement with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and his extensive governmentcontracts. Musk, who owns Tesla—which does business with China—and SpaceX, is leading efforts to streamline government functions under the Trump administration.
The White House previously classified Musk is a “special government employee” who acts solely as an unpaid advisor. They assured Musk that he would avoid involvement in matters where personal financial interests could conflict with his governmental role.

President Donald J. Trump has issued a warning to individuals involved in attacks on Tesla, indicating they could face up to 20 years in prison if caught. The statement follows recent charges against suspects accused of violently targeting Tesla dealerships, vehicles, and charging stations across the United States. Trump emphasized the seriousness of the offenses in a social media post, stating that funders of such activities could also face similar penalties.
“I look forward to watching the sick terrorist thugs get 20 year jail sentences for what they are doing to Elon Musk and Tesla,” President Trump wrote Friday morning in a post on Truth Social. “Perhaps they could serve them in the prisons of El Salvador, which have become so recently famous for such lovely conditions!”
Meanwhile, in a separate post late Thursday, Trump stated: “People that get caught sabotaging Teslas will stand a very good chance of going to jail for up to twenty years, and that includes the funders. WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU!!!”
‘DOMESTIC TERRORISM.’
Trump’s remarks were made after Attorney General Pam Bondi categorized the acts as “domestic terrorism.” Bondi has affirmed the commitment of the Department of Justice (DOJ) to pursue severe legal actions against those implicated. She revealed that several individuals have already been charged, with some facing mandatory minimum sentences of five years.
Additionally, Deputy Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Dan Bongino said the agency is actively investigating the incidents. He noted the agency’s focus on the Tesla-related attacks as part of efforts to ensure national security. The recent surge in these attacks has been reported in states including Oregon, Illinois, Nevada, Washington, and South Carolina.
The National Pulse previously reported that far-left hackers published the detailed information of every Tesla owner in the United States, including their home addresses, as part of a campaign to terrorize the company, its customers, and its owner, Elon Musk. The website hosting the information uses a Molotov cocktail image as a cursor.

President Donald J. Trump has extracted extraordinary guarantees from the multinational white-shoe law firm Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison (Paul, Weiss) in exchange for retracting an executive order stripping the firm of their security clearance and government contracts. Paul Weiss had been a major behind-the-scenes player in the lawfare efforts against Trump over the last four years, along with representing several left-wing causes, including providing legal services for abortionists following the Dobbs v. Jackson ruling, which overturned Roe v. Wade.
Notably, Paul, Weiss has agreed to apologize for the actions of a former partner at the law firm, Mark F. Pomerantz, who instigated a Manhattan District Attorney investigation into Trump that resulted in DA Alvin Bragg’s so-called hush money prosecution. Additionally, the firm has agreed not to deny pro bono services based on the client’s political views and will provide the federal government the equivalent of $40 million in pro bono legal services supporting President Trump’s agenda over the next four years, among other concessions.
‘RESTORING OUR SYSTEM OF JUSTICE.’
“Paul, Weiss agrees that the bedrock principle of American Justice is that it must be fair and nonpartisan for all. Our Justice System is betrayed when it is misused to achieve political ends,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social late Thursday. “Lawyers and law firms play a vital role in ensuring that we live up to that standard as a Nation. Law firms should not favor any political party when it comes to choosing their clients. Firms also should not make decisions on whom to hire based on a person’s political affiliation. To do otherwise is to deny some Americans an equal opportunity for our services while favoring others.”
“Lawyers abandon the profession’s highest ideals when they engage in partisan decision-making, and betray the ethical obligation to represent those who are unpopular or disfavored in a particular environment,” he added.
In a statement announcing the concessions, the Trump White House said: “The President is agreeing to this action in light of a meeting with Paul, Weiss Chairman, Brad Karp, during which Mr. Karp acknowledged the wrongdoing of former Paul, Weiss partner, Mark Pomerantz, the grave dangers of Weaponization, and the vital need to restore our System of Justice.”
ANTI-TRUMP, PRO-CHINA.
The National Pulse has previously reported that former Obama government Attorney General Loretta Lynch—a member of the Paul, Weiss litigation department—drew Congressional scrutiny over her U.S. lobbying work for Chinese drone company DJI. The Department of Defense identifies DJI as a Chinese military tech producer.
Additionally, Roberta Kaplan—the attorney representing E. Jean Carroll—and U.S. District Court Judge Lewis Kaplan—who presided over Carroll’s defamation case against Trump—worked together at Paul, Weiss in the 1990s.
“We are gratified that the President has agreed to withdraw the Executive Order concerning Paul, Weiss. We look forward to an engaged and constructive relationship with the President and his Administration,” Paul, Weiss Chairman Brad Karp said in a statement praising President Trump’s decision to lift the executive order against the law firm.

A Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agent who had previously voiced criticism of the bureau during President Donald J. Trump‘s first administration and alleged that Russian agents compromised former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani was arrested on Monday. Jonathan Buma, a 15-year veteran of the FBI, is facing charges of unlawfully retaining and disclosing confidential bureau documents to write a book about his career. Buma was apprehended at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City while preparing to board an international flight, according to an arrest affidavit.
The federal charges allege Buma printed approximately 130 confidential documents and messages from the FBI, which he later shared with associates as part of his book-writing endeavor. The book manuscript purportedly includes material related to the FBI’s investigations into a foreign nation’s weapons of mass destruction (WMD) program, information that Buma obtained during his tenure as a Special Agent.
Further allegations in court documents claim Buma disseminated confidential excerpts on social media platforms. In an email dated November 2, 2023, it is reported that Buma communicated with personal contacts to assist in negotiating a book deal.
Buma’s discontent with the FBI had been longstanding, with documented criticisms made in 2022 regarding the bureau’s investigative processes, including communications to government agencies, Congress, and media outlets. In a September 2023 interview, Buma detailed his experience when raising concerns to a superior about former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani‘s potential involvement in a Russian counter-influence operation, claiming he was dismissed. However, his mention of Hunter Biden’s ties to Ukrainian company Burisma supposedly garnered more interest from this superior.
Buma was charged with one misdemeanor count of unlawful disclosure of confidential information and released on a $100,000 bond.

President Donald J. Trump has signed an executive order to begin dismantling the U.S. Department of Education. While the order does not outright abolish the department, it clears the way for staff reductions and the devolution of the Department’s authority to other federal agencies and state governments. As a congressionally created and authorized entity, the final abolition of the Department of Education will require an affirmative vote by Congress.
“Today we take a very historic action that was 45 years in the making. In a few moments, I will sign an executive order to begin eliminating the federal Department of Education once and for all,” the President said at the order signing on Thursday. “And it sounds strange, doesn’t it? Department of Education? We’re going to eliminate it. And everybody knows it’s right. And the Democrats know it’s right, and I hope they’re going to be voting for it,” he added.
Trump concluded: “We’re going to be returning education, very simply, back to the states where it belongs… Probably the cost will be half, and the education will be maybe many, many times better.”
