The E. Jean Carroll Judge Is Back, Telling Trump to Give Illegal Immigrants Better Toilets.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: A federal court ordered President Donald J. Trump’s administration to improve detention conditions for illegal immigrants at a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Manhattan.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Trump administration, Bill Clinton-appointed U.S. District Court Judge Lewis Kaplan, illegal immigrant plaintiff Sergio Alberto Barco Mercado, and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

📍WHEN & WHERE: The order was issued on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, in New York.

💬KEY QUOTE: “They are also being subjected to unsanitary and unsafe conditions, sleeping for days or weeks on a concrete floor with only an aluminum blanket, often with insufficient space to even lie down, often sleeping near the toilets.” — Attorney Heather Gregorio.

🎯IMPACT: Juge Kaplan has given the Trump administration until August 26 to comply, though he also indicated he may move forward with a broader restraining order and injunction against the White House if he certifies a class for class action before then.

IN FULL

A federal court ordered President Donald J. Trump‘s administration to improve detention conditions for illegal immigrants at a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Manhattan, New York, late Tuesday. The ruling stems from a lawsuit brought by a Peruvian illegal immigrant who alleges detainees are held in cramped conditions.

The order, issued by U.S. District Court Judge Lewis Kaplan—a Bill Clinton appointee who also presided over the E. Jean Carroll defamation trial against President Donald J. Trump—stipulates that ICE must provide each detainee held overnight with a bedding mat and ensure that toilets are cleaned three times a day. Additionally, Judge Kaplan ordered that ICE must allow detainees to make a private phone call with their attorney within 24 hours of detention and that they be given an information sheet that informs them they can request bottles of water and an extra meal, among other amenities.

Juge Kaplan has given the Trump administration until August 26 to comply, though he also indicated he may move forward with a broader restraining order and injunction against the White House if he certifies a class for class action before then. Notably, the only plaintiff—at the moment—is Sergio Alberto Barco Mercado, an illegal immigrant from Peru, and his main gripe appears to be that between 40 and 90 detainees are forced to share a handful of toilets. Notably, paying airline passengers experience a similar ratio of person-to-toilet access—or worse.

“They are also being subjected to unsanitary and unsafe conditions, sleeping for days or weeks on a concrete floor with only an aluminum blanket, often with insufficient space to even lie down, often sleeping near the toilets,” Barco Mercado’s attorney, Heather Gregorio, complained during the hearing.

The Trump administration argued that ICE follows federal legal standards but conceded that it was working to increase hygiene access for detainees regardless.

Over 50,000 Illegals Have Reached England in Small Boats.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: The number of migrants crossing the English Channel in small boats since Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer’s Labour Party came to power has surpassed 50,000, according to Home Office data.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Britain’s Labour government, the formerly governing Conservative Party, illegal immigrants, and people-smuggling gangs.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Between July 5, 2024, and August 11, 2024, across the English Channel.

💬KEY QUOTE: “As I predicted 5 years ago, unless we deport illegal migrants the invasion will be huge. 50,000 since our weak Prime Minister took office and there is no sign of it stopping.” – Reform Party leader Nigel Farage

🎯IMPACT: The milestone highlights ongoing challenges in addressing illegal immigration and the political difficulties faced by the government.

IN FULL

Over 50,000 migrants have crossed the English Channel in small boats since Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer’s Labour Party returned to power last year, according to figures from the British Home Office—roughly equivalent to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS). On August 11 alone, 474 migrants made the illegal journey across the Channel from France, bringing the total since Labour’s July 2024 general election win to 50,271. This figure is 13,925 higher than the total recorded over the same period before Labour regained office.

Responding to the milestone, Baroness Smith, a Labour minister in the Home Office, said the number represented “an unacceptable number of people” but claimed that the government was making progress. “People-smuggling gangs have become increasingly influential in recent years, exploiting vulnerable people and profiting from their desperation,” Smith said.

The surge in small boat arrivals has drawn sharp criticism from the opposition. Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp called the situation “the worst illegal immigration crisis in our history” and accused the government of failing to control the border. “This is a taxpayer-funded ferry service for the people-smuggling trade. Every illegal immigrant should be removed immediately upon arrival,” he said.

However, the Channel crossings began when Philp’s Conservative (Tory) Party was in office and grew progressively worse, with successive Conservative prime ministers showing no signs of making progress on the issue.

“As I predicted 5 years ago, unless we deport illegal migrants the invasion will be huge,” commented Reform Party leader Nigel Farage, who played a large part in exposing the Channel crisis and exposing the role of the French and British authorities in facilitating the crossings. “50,000 since our weak Prime Minister took office and there is no sign of it stopping,” he lamented.

2028 Democrat Hopefuls Now Trying to Distance Themselves from Migrant Giveaways.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Democratic governors in California, Illinois, and Minnesota have rolled back public health care benefits for illegal immigrants, citing budget constraints.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Governors Gavin Newsom, J.B. Pritzker, and Tim Walz; immigrant advocates, and state legislatures.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Policy changes were enacted in 2025 across California, Illinois, and Minnesota.

💬KEY QUOTE: “There were very difficult conversations… but at the end of the day, we were able to come to this agreement.” – Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D)

🎯IMPACT: The cuts will affect tens of thousands of undocumented residents and have sparked backlash from immigrant rights groups and progressives.

IN FULL

Three Democratic governors—California’s Gavin Newsom, Illinois’s J.B. Pritzker, and Minnesota’s Tim Walz—have implemented policy changes to freeze, cap, or eliminate health benefits for illegal immigrants, citing budget shortfalls. These cuts come as all three governors are viewed as potential contenders for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2028.

In California, Governor Gavin Newsom announced plans to cap new enrollment for illegal immigrant adults in Medi-Cal, the state’s Medicaid program. While current enrollees will retain coverage, they will face new costs, including a $100 monthly premium starting in 2027. “We are not cutting or rolling back those that are already enrolled in our Medi-Cal system, we’re just capping it,” Newsom said. More than 120 organizations have condemned the move, calling it harmful.

Meanwhile, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz signed a bipartisan bill removing illegal immigrant adults from MinnesotaCare, the state’s low-income insurance program. Walz acknowledged the challenges, saying, “There were very difficult conversations… but at the end of the day, we were able to come to this agreement.”

In Illinois, Governor J.B. Pritzker ended a program providing health coverage to over 30,000 illegal immigrant adults, effective July 1. Pritzker described the decision as “difficult” but necessary to balance the budget, blaming national economic challenges. “This year, passing a balanced budget required the difficult decision that reflects the reality of Trump and Republicans tanking our national economy and attempting to strip away healthcare,” his office stated.

Far-left critics argue these decisions undermine vulnerable populations and fail to distinguish Democrats from Trump-era policies, and illegal immigrant rights groups warn that the cuts will harm public health systems and alienate the Democratic base. Importantly, the recent policy changes put the three Democratic governors in stark contrast to the more progressive and pro-open borders politics of Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), who has emerged as a leading national figure in the party.

Trump Declares Illegal Immigrants Will Not Be Counted in Census.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: President Donald J. Trump announced plans to exclude illegal immigrants from the next U.S. census and instructed the Commerce Department to begin work on a new census based on the 2024 election results.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: President Donald Trump, the U.S. Census Bureau, and the Department of Commerce.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The announcement was made Thursday morning on Truth Social, with implications for the 2024 election and 2030 census.

💬KEY QUOTE: “People who are in our Country illegally WILL NOT BE COUNTED IN THE CENSUS.” – Donald Trump

🎯IMPACT: The move could face legal challenges and significantly alter population counts, potentially affecting congressional representation and electoral college votes.

IN FULL

President Donald J. Trump announced Thursday morning that illegal immigrants will not be included in the next census. He directed the Commerce Department to begin work on a “new and highly accurate census” based on data from the 2024 presidential election.

“I have instructed our Department of Commerce to immediately begin work on a new and highly accurate CENSUS based on modern day facts and figures and, importantly, using the results and information gained from the Presidential Election of 2024,” Trump wrote on Truth Social, adding: “People who are in our Country illegally WILL NOT BE COUNTED IN THE CENSUS.”

The U.S. Census Bureau, which is part of the Commerce Department, currently includes illegal immigrants—referred to as “unauthorized migrants”—in its population counts. These figures are used for congressional apportionment and electoral college votes. The bureau defines the “foreign-born” population to include naturalized citizens, lawful permanent residents, temporary migrants, and unauthorized migrants.

Legal challenges could arise from Trump’s directive, as Section 2 of the 14th Amendment states that representatives should be apportioned based on the “whole number of persons in each State.” However, Trump’s focus on census accuracy comes as Republicans and Democrats battle over redistricting in states like Texas ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.

The 2020 census acknowledged errors that led to undercounts in Republican-led states like Florida and Texas, while Democrat-led states such as New York and Massachusetts were overcounted. If Trump’s plan is implemented, states with large illegal immigrant populations—such as California, Texas, and Florida—could see significant changes in their 2030 census numbers.

Border Apprehensions Hit Another Historic Low.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: U.S. Border Patrol reported a new record low in apprehensions at the southwest border for July 2025.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: U.S. Border Patrol Chief Mike Banks announced the figures.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The report covers the border for the month of July 2025.

💬KEY QUOTE: “Plus, ZERO releases for 3 months in a row!!” – Mike Banks

🎯IMPACT: The figures suggest President Donald J. Trump’s border measures are rapidly closing down illegal crossings, fulfilling a key campaign pledge.

IN FULL

U.S. Border Patrol Chief Mike Banks has reported another record monthly low for apprehensions at the southwest border, with only 4,399 incidents recorded in July 2025. Banks also noted that no migrants have been paroled into the U.S. following their apprehension, stressing, “ZERO releases for 3 months in a row!!”

The average number of apprehensions per day in July was 141. In stark contrast, December 2023 under former President Joe Biden’s government saw a record 249,785 apprehensions—the majority of which resulted in releases—for an average of over 8,057 crossings per day.

The collapse in crossings signals that President Donald J. Trump’s border policies are rapidly closing down illegal immigration. This is also reflected in news that the treacherous Darien Gap, a key route for illegals on the way to the U.S. through Central America, saw only around ten migrants pass through in June, compared to almost 40,000 in February 2024.

Trump Migration Crackdown Slashes Migrants Crossing Darien Gap to Near Zero.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Panama’s Darien Gap, a dangerous but once-busy route for migrants heading to the U.S., is now nearly deserted due to President Donald J. Trump’s immigration crackdown.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: President Trump, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin, Panama’s President José Raúl Mulino, and U.S. border officials.

📍WHEN & WHERE: June 2025, Darien Gap, Panama.

💬KEY QUOTE: “In Panama’s Darien Gap, migrants are turning BACK before they even reach our border—only 10 migrants crossed in June,” said Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin.

🎯IMPACT: Migrant crossings in the Darien Gap have dropped to nearly zero, reflecting the effectiveness of the Trump administration’s border policies.

IN FULL

Once a major corridor for U.S.-bound migration, Panama’s treacherous Darién Gap has seen a dramatic decline in crossings. According to Panama’s migration authorities, only 10 individuals crossed the dense jungle in June 2025, marking a near-total collapse in traffic along what became a heavily used migrant route under former President Joe Biden.

The sudden drop follows the return of President Donald J. Trump’s hardline immigration policies, which include greatly strengthened border enforcement and efforts to orchestrate mass deportations. These measures stand in sharp contrast to conditions under the former Biden regime, when crossings through the region, once deemed impassable, surged.

In February 2024 alone, 37,166 migrants passed through the Darién Gap, and in 2022, the weekly average reached approximately 16,400. In 2023, over 530,000 migrants traversed the route, usually aided by organized smuggling networks.

Highlighting the change, U.S. Homeland Security (DHS) Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin noted, In Panama’s Darien Gap, migrants are turning BACK before they even reach our border—only 10 migrants crossed in June. The world is hearing our message that America’s borders are closed to lawbreakers.”

This view is supported by figures from the U.S. southern border, where apprehensions of illegal migrants have sharply declined. Border Patrol agents reported only about 6,000 arrests in June, none of whom were released into the country. This is a steep drop compared to previous years: 83,000 in June 2024, 99,000 in June 2023, and 192,000 in June 2022, per U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data.

NYC’s Mamdani Bragged About Channeling Public Funds to Illegals.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: A resurfaced interview revealed the Democrats’ candidate for New York City mayor, Uganda-born Zohran Mamdani, touting taxpayer-funded unemployment benefits for illegal immigrants as one of his “greatest victories.”

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Zohran Mamdani, New Yorkers, and illegal immigrants.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The comments were made in a June 2021 interview with SAAG Interactive in Mamdani’s capacity as an assemblyman.

💬KEY QUOTE: “What this fund would do is provide some modicum of relief [to illegals]. And this fund was won in many ways because of the pressure brought by [illegals] that the state doesn’t even recognize, the state does not even see,” Mamdani said.

🎯IMPACT: Mamdani’s pro-illegal immigrant stance has drawn criticism from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials and highlights his broader platform of supporting illegal immigrants, including expanding sanctuary city policies.

IN FULL

Democratic candidate for New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani described securing taxpayer funding for unemployment benefits for illegal immigrants as one of his “greatest victories” during a 2021 interview with SAAG Interactive. The fund, known as the Excluded Workers Fund, was created for illegal alien workers who were ineligible for federal and state unemployment benefits.

“When I think of the greatest victories in Albany this year, I think the excluded workers fund,” the Uganda-born assemblyman said. He continued, “And what this fund would do is provide some modicum of relief. And this fund was won in many ways because of the pressure brought by those that the state doesn’t even recognize, the state does not even see.”

“Without the pressure from those individuals, members of the state would never have taken this action because nothing happens because of benevolence, it happens because of pressure,” he added.

Mamdani’s campaign website outlines his commitment to expanding protections for illegal immigrants in New York City. The avowed socialist and Muslim extremist‘s platform includes measures to strengthen the city’s sanctuary policies, eliminate cooperation with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and increase legal support for undocumented residents.

Meanwhile, acting ICE Director Todd Lyons has criticized Mamdani for his silence following the recent shooting of a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officer in New York City. “His silence in the face of this brutal attack speaks volumes about where his priorities lie, and it’s not with public safety and the American people,” Lyons said of Mamdani, who only became a U.S. citizen in 2018.

Mamdani has also faced scrutiny for his support of the anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel, which he discussed in the same 2021 interview. Other past comments include anti-NYPD posts accusing police of controlling minorities and the poor, and calls for the defunding of the NYPD and the abolition of prisons.

This Country Is Mass Deporting Millions of Illegals.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Nearly one million Afghan migrants without proper documentation in Iran have been deported back to Afghanistan in recent weeks, with another million deportations targeted.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Afghan illegal immigrants, Iranian authorities, and the Taliban.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Iran, ongoing since 2023, with significant escalations in recent weeks.

💬KEY QUOTE: “We’ve always striven to be good hosts, but national security is a priority.” – Iranian government spokeswoman Fatemeh Mohajerani

🎯IMPACT: The deportations show that mass deportations are perfectly possible over a short timeframe, in countries with far fewer resources than in the West.

IN FULL

Iran has initiated a sweeping deportation campaign targeting Afghan migrants without legal documentation, resulting in the removal of nearly one million illegal immigrants over the past month alone. According to Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni, this figure represents approximately half of the estimated two million Afghans currently residing in the country.

The sudden surge in deportations comes in the wake of recent national security incidents linked to Iran’s conflict with Israel. Iranian authorities claim that some Afghan refugees were involved in serious security breaches, including piloting drones, collecting classified intelligence, and executing acts of sabotage. In one report aired on June 26, state-run television broadcast a confession from an Afghan national allegedly involved in a plot to bomb a power station located in southeast Tehran.

“We’ve always striven to be good hosts, but national security is a priority,” stated Iranian government spokeswoman Fatemeh Mohajerani. However, some critics argue the crackdown is being used to shift blame for intelligence failures onto the Afghan refugee population.

The Taliban has publicly urged its western neighbor to reconsider the pace of these expulsions, proposing a slower, more structured process. Afghans have already been returned to their homeland en masse from Pakistan, to its east.

The speed and scale of the removals appear to prove that mass deportations are not a logistical impossibility, as anti-deportation activists in the U.S. and other Western countries often contend. Notably, Afghans appear to be a disproportionate threat to public safety wherever they go, with British crime statistics indicating that they are over 22 times more likely to be convicted of sex crimes than locals, for instance.

Anti-ICE Activists Help Detainee Escape Facility.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Anti-ICE protestors are being accused of helping an illegal immigrant escape from a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention facility in Los Angeles, California, on Tuesday.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: ICE agents, anti-ICE protestors, and an illegal immigrant with British citizenship.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The escape occurred on Tuesday, July 29, 2025.

💬KEY QUOTE: “This is getting out of control,” one ICE official said.

🎯IMPACT: Federal immigration officials have faced increasingly violent attacks in the wake of June’s violent anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles. Anti-ICE activists continue to maintain a significant presence near the Los Angeles detention facility, with the aim of disrupting its operation.

IN FULL

An illegal immigrant escaped from a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention facility in Los Angeles, California, on Tuesday with the assistance of far-left anti-ICE protestors. The migrant, who has British citizenship, was being transferred to the ICE facility when his escape was enabled by the anti-ICE activists, who subsequently absconded with the detainee in a waiting van.

Federal immigration agents have launched a manhunt to locate and recapture the illegal, who is said to have a criminal record. “This is getting out of control,” one ICE official said, describing the dangerous environment created by the far-left activists who have dominated the immediate area around the Los Angeles detention facility since June’s anti-ICE riots.

Over the last month, federal immigration officials have faced increasingly violent attacks in the wake of the June riots. The National Pulse reported last week that Elpidio Reyna, accused of hurling concrete blocks at law enforcement during immigration enforcement actions in Paramount, California, on June 7, was apprehended at the U.S. southern border. Meanwhile, earlier this month, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents captured Benjamin Song, a suspect accused of shooting at ICE officers during a riot at the Prairieland Detention Center in Alvarado, Texas, on July 4. The ambush resulted in a local police officer being shot in the neck.

The Democratic Party has been intensifying its rhetoric against law enforcement involved in deportations, in particular, since President Donald J. Trump’s reelection, with 2024 Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz going so far as to describe ICE agents as the “Gestapo.” A number of Democratic lawmakers and candidates have been arrested for attempting to interfere with federal immigration enforcement actions, with Congresswoman LaMonica McIver (D-NJ) being indicted on charges of forcibly impeding federal officers.

Democrat AGs Bring Lawfare Case to Stop Trump Tracking Illegals.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: New York Attorney General Letitia James is leading a lawsuit against the Trump administration over demands for state data on food stamp recipients to help track illegal immigrants.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Letitia James, California AG Rob Bonta, Michigan AG Dana Nessel, and 20 Democratic attorneys general versus the Trump administration.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The lawsuit was announced Monday, with a deadline set for July 30 for data submission.

💬KEY QUOTE: “This administration is attempting to use this program as a tool in their cruel and chaotic targeting of immigrants,” said Letitia James.

🎯IMPACT: Democratic attorneys general claim the Trump administration’s move violates privacy laws and threatens funding for food assistance programs.

IN FULL

New York Attorney General Letitia James (D), alongside California Attorney General Rob Bonta (D) and Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel (D), announced a lawsuit against the Trump administration over its demands for detailed data on Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients. The administration has threatened to withhold SNAP funding from states that fail to comply by the July 30 deadline.

James criticized the move as an “illegal data grab” targeting illegal immigrants. “This administration is attempting to use this program as a tool in their cruel and chaotic targeting of immigrants,” she said during a press call. The attorneys general argue that the request violates federal privacy laws and exceeds the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) authority.

Bonta condemned the demands as a “bait-and-switch,” asserting that SNAP recipients provided information to access food assistance, not to be tracked or targeted. “This kind of targeting doesn’t make America safer. It threatens kids’ access to school meals and jeopardizes wildfire survivors’ access to relief,” he claimed.

The lawsuit follows a series of legal challenges led by Democratic attorneys general against Trump’s policies. They argue that expanded data requirements, which include immigration status, marital status, and employment history, are a violation of federal statutes and the Spending Clause.

“They’re bypassing legal procedures, ignoring privacy protections, and demanding data that federal law explicitly says can only be used for administering the SNAP program,” Bonta stated.

Critics say the lawsuit appears to be little more than a continuation of lawfare efforts to prevent President Donald J. Trump from ending the illegal immigration crisis enabled by the former Biden-Harris government.
