Judge Accused of Helping Illegal Alien Evade Arrest Can Stand Trial.

PULSE POINTS

❓WHAT HAPPENED: A U.S. magistrate judge ruled that a case can proceed against Milwaukee County Judge Hannah Dugan, who is accused of aiding an illegal immigrant in evading arrest.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Judge Hannah Dugan, illegal immigrant Eduardo Flores-Ruiz, Magistrate Judge Nancy Joseph, and Dugan’s attorney Steven Biskupic.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The indictment was reported in May, and a nonbinding recommendation was issued Monday. The events took place in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin.

💬KEY QUOTE: “A judge’s actions, even when done in her official capacity, does not bar criminal prosecution if the actions were done in violation of the criminal law,” wrote Magistrate Judge Nancy Joseph.

🎯IMPACT: The case will proceed, raising questions about judicial immunity and the legality of Dugan’s actions.

IN FULL

A U.S. magistrate judge has ruled that criminal proceedings can continue against Milwaukee County Judge Hannah Dugan, who is facing allegations of obstructing federal immigration authorities. The case centers on claims that Dugan assisted an illegal immigrant in evading arrest by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

According to a two-page federal indictment, Dugan is accused of “obstructing a U.S. agency and concealing” Eduardo Flores-Ruiz, an illegal immigrant. Prosecutors allege she deliberately interfered with ICE’s efforts to detain Flores-Ruiz by hiding his whereabouts.

Dugan pleaded not guilty at a hearing in May. Her legal team has argued that the charges should be dismissed, claiming she is protected by judicial immunity for actions taken in her official role on the bench.

However, Magistrate Judge Nancy Joseph, in a recent recommendation, declined to support dismissal of the case. She wrote, “A judge’s actions, even when done in her official capacity, does not bar criminal prosecution if the actions were done in violation of the criminal law.”

Judge Joseph also emphasized that it remains uncertain whether Dugan’s conduct falls outside the scope of her judicial responsibilities. She stated that this ambiguity “cannot be resolved through a motion to dismiss,” and therefore the case must continue through the court process.

Dugan’s attorney, Steven Biskupic, reacted to the decision and expressed dissatisfaction with the recommendation. “We are disappointed in the magistrate judge’s non-binding recommendation, and we will appeal it. This is only one step in what we expect will be a long journey to preserve the independence and integrity of our courts,” he said.

The recommendation is not final, but it allows the case to proceed while the legal process unfolds. A more decisive ruling will fall to a U.S. district judge, who will review Judge Joseph’s findings.

These Are Some of the Killers and Predators ICE Has Been Arresting:

PULSE POINTS

❓WHAT HAPPENED: U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents are netting killers, child molesters, and other serious criminals in immigration raids across the U.S.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: ICE agents and illegal immigrants with serious criminal convictions, including homicides and sexual offenses.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Recent arrests took place across various U.S. cities, including Boston, Buffalo, Los Angeles, and Houston.

🎯IMPACT: Dangerous migrants, including those convicted of child molestation, rape, and other violent crimes, have been removed from American communities.

IN FULL

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is continuing to detain serious criminal illegal aliens, announcing on July 8 the apprehension of rapists, child molesters, and other violent criminals as Democrats and far-left agitators escalate their pro-illegal immigrant activities.

Recent arrests include Andrew Da Silva, a Brazilian national with convictions for child molestation and sexual assault in Providence, Rhode Island, and Gerber R. Rosil-Galdamez, a Guatemalan national convicted of rape in Suffolk County, New York. Aurelio Lopez-Vasquez, a Mexican national, was arrested for prior convictions of sexual conduct against a child in Kings County, New York, while Jesus Flores, also from Mexico, was convicted of manslaughter in the Bronx.

Selbourne Larkin, a Jamaican national, is another convicted killer, with vehicular homicide and possession of a firearm by a felon among the 22 criminal arrests and 12 criminal convictions he has acquired during his time in the U.S.

Additional arrests include migrants such as Juan Humberto Perez, a Mexican national with convictions for aggravated sexual battery and indecent liberties with a child, and Glenda Iraheta from El Salvador, who has 21 criminal arrests and multiple convictions in Loudoun County, Virginia. Sergio Soadri Morales, a Mexican citizen, was arrested for indecency with a child in Bexar County, Texas, and Jonathan Omar Calderon, a Guatemalan national, has a conviction for lewd acts with a child under 14 in Los Angeles, California.

Other notable arrests include Verner Arnoldo Perez-Ixcoy, a Guatemalan national with ten criminal convictions, and Juan Manuel Parra-Reyes, a Mexican citizen convicted of sexual abuse of a child in Salt Lake City, Utah. Hai Tuan Pham, a Vietnamese national, was arrested for aggravated robbery and kidnapping with intent to commit sexual assault in Dallas County, Texas. Demir Keco, a Bosnian citizen, was arrested in Boston for firearm offenses and assault.

ICE agents continue to target violent and serious criminal individuals for arrest and deportation despite protests and riots from the left against their actions. President Donald J. Trump’s newly passed One Big Beautiful Bill Act has given ICE a massive financial boost, with Border Czar Tom Homan announcing that ICE is now looking to make 7,000 arrests daily.

Nevertheless, leftists, including some Democratic members of Congress, have become increasingly militant in their opposition to ICE’s operations, with a law enforcement officer being shot in the neck after insurrectionists lured agents into a sniper ambush outside a Texas ICE facility over the Fourth of July weekend.

Macron Admits Immigration Is a ‘Burden.’

PULSE POINTS

âť“WHAT HAPPENED: French President Emmanuel Macron emphasized the need for France and the United Kingdom to address immigration collaboratively, calling it a “burden for our two countries.”

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Emmanuel Macron, President of France, and the British government.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Macron addressed the British Parliament on July 8, during the first day of his three-day state visit to the United Kingdom.

💬KEY QUOTE: “France and the UK have a shared responsibility to address irregular migration [sic] with humanity, solidarity, and firmness.” – Emmanuel Macron

🎯IMPACT: Macron’s remarks set the stage for an upcoming summit to foster cooperation and achieve tangible results on immigration challenges after years in which illegal crossings of the English Channel have steadily worsened.

IN FULL

French President Emmanuel Macron has called for a united effort between France and the United Kingdom to address immigration, admitting it is a “burden for our two countries.” Speaking to the British Parliament on Tuesday, July 8, during the first day of a three-day state visit, Macron said migrants crossing the English Channel illegally in small boats are seeking “hope for a better life,” but added: “Rules must not be flouted.”

Macron said Britain and France need to tackle illegal immigration with “humanity, solidarity, and firmness,” insisting their shared objective “is to have the best ever cooperation between our two countries in order to fix today what is a burden for us both.”

Channel crossings were declared a “major incident” by the British government as long ago as 2018. Still, they have steadily increased from hundreds to thousands to tens of thousands annually regardless, despite escalating multi-million-pound payments to the French authorities to stem the flow.

Nigel Farage, leader of Britain’s Reform Party, was among the first public figures to expose the crisis and highlight incidents in which the French and British authorities were seemingly colluding to help transport boat migrants to England rather than turning them back to France.

Border Czar Homan Wants to Turbocharge ICE Arrests to 7,000 a Day With ‘Big, Beautiful Bill’ Money.

PULSE POINTS

âť“WHAT HAPPENED: Tom Homan, President Donald J. Trump’s Border Czar, is pushing for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to arrest 7,000 illegal immigrants daily now that the “Big, Beautiful Bill” has been signed, more than doubling the current quota.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Tom Homan, President Trump, ICE agents, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin, and White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The announcement was made outside the White House in July 2025.

💬KEY QUOTE: “And for those that say 3,000 [arrests] a day is too much, I want to remind them, do the math, we have to arrest 7,000 every single day for the remainder of this administration just to catch the ones Biden released into the nation,” said Homan.

🎯IMPACT: The One Big Beautiful Bill Act empowers ICE to hire 10,000 new officers, doubling the agency’s capacity for detaining illegal immigrants.

IN FULL

President Donald J. Trump’s Border Czar, Tom Homan, has announced a push for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to increase their illegal alien arrest targets to 7,000 a day. This new target more than doubles the previous quota set for the agency.

This announcement comes after Trump signed the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which massively boosts funding for border security and ICE deportation efforts. The bill, signed into law on July 4, also empowers ICE to hire 10,000 additional officers.

During a press briefing outside the White House, Homan said, “[F]or those that say 3,000 [arrests] a day is too much, I want to remind them, do the math, we have to arrest 7,000 every single day for the remainder of this administration just to catch the ones Biden released into the nation.”

Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin noted that the new law would “turbocharge” Trump’s deportation efforts. Homan’s 7,000-a-day target exceeds even the 3,000-a-day target previously put forward by White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy Stephen Miller, one of the administration’s most prominent immigration hawks.

The Trump administration initially set a quota of 1,800 arrests per day in January.

Border Crossings Hit Another Historic Low.

PULSE POINTS

❓WHAT HAPPENED: Illegal border crossings at the U.S.-Mexico border have dropped to historic lows, with fewer than 6,000 migrant apprehensions last month—the lowest monthly number ever recorded by Border Patrol.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: U.S. Border Patrol, Border Czar Tom Homan, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and President Donald J. Trump

📍WHEN & WHERE: U.S. Southern Border, June 2025

💬KEY QUOTE: “We have never seen numbers this low. Never.” — Tom Homan

🎯IMPACT: Historically low numbers of crossings at the southern border due to the Trump administration’s crackdown on illegal immigration. More aggressive deportation policies and a strong military presence are discouraging migrants from attempting illegal entry.

IN FULL

The number of illegal migrant crossings along the southern border has reached an all-time low. Preliminary Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data show that last month, Border Patrol agents at the U.S.-Mexico border recorded over 6,000 apprehensions of migrants who entered the U.S. without authorization, making this the lowest monthly tally ever reported by the agency.

These figures stand in stark contrast to those under the Biden government, which faced a humanitarian, political, and operational crisis of unprecedented proportions at the southern border.

According to Tom Homan, the Trump administration’s border czar, Border Patrol did not release any migrants for a second consecutive month. In comparison, tens of thousands of migrants were released into the U.S. with instructions to plead their cases in immigration court at some later date under Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

“President Trump has created the most secure border in the history of the nation and the data proves it. We have never seen numbers this low. Never,” said Homan, adding: “God bless the men and women of the US Border Patrol and God bless the men and women of ICE. The interior arrests and consequences help to drive down illegal immigration.”

Dem States Are Suing Trump to Keep Medicaid Flowing to Illegals.

PULSE POINTS

❓WHAT HAPPENED: California and 19 other states sued the Trump administration over the transfer of Medicaid data to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for immigration enforcement purposes.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: California Attorney General Rob Bonta, DHS, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), President Donald J. Trump, DHS and HHS Secretaries Kristi Noem and Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

📍WHEN & WHERE: July 2025, U.S. District Court, Northern District of California

đź’¬KEY QUOTE: “This isn’t about cutting waste or going after fraud. This is about going after vulnerable people,” claims Bonta.

🎯IMPACT: Lawsuit challenges federal surveillance using state Medicaid data, with national implications for immigration and healthcare policy.

IN FULL

A coalition of 20 states led by Governor Gavin Newsom’s California filed a federal lawsuit this week against the Trump administration, accusing the Departments of Health and Human Services (HHS) and Homeland Security (DHS) of unlawfully sharing Medicaid data with immigration enforcement officials. The lawsuit, filed in the Northern District of California, alleges millions of individuals’ health information was transferred without consent, supposedly violating privacy laws.

According to the complaint, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services handed over data from state-run Medicaid programs—including those in California, Illinois, and Washington—to DHS and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). This data reportedly included names, addresses, immigration status, Social Security numbers, and claims records, to help prevent federal funding from being awarded to illegal aliens and ineligible noncitizens.

California Attorney General Rob Bonta claimed the Trump administration is using Medicaid as a weapon to enforce anti-immigration policies, stating, “They’re threatening the personal health data of 78.4 million individuals who are enrolled in Medicaid and CHIP for their mass surveillance and federal immigration enforcement plans.” Bonta emphasized that this was the 28th lawsuit California has filed against the Trump administration in just 23 weeks.

HHS defended its actions, with spokesman Andrew Nixon stating the interagency data sharing was lawful and aimed at preventing misuse of federal Medicaid funds. “This oversight effort… is focused on identifying waste, fraud, and systemic abuse,” Nixon said, adding that emergency Medicaid eligibility remains legally intact for illegal immigrants as authorized by Congress.

Under Pressure From Trump, Canada Is Passing a ‘Strong Borders Act.’

PULSE POINTS

❓WHAT HAPPENED: Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney introduced a sweeping immigration bill after U.S. pressure on border security and fentanyl trafficking.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, U.S. President Donald J. Trump, Canadian Public Safety Minister Gary Anandasangaree, Amnesty International, Migrants Rights Network.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Canada, June 2025.

💬KEY QUOTE: “There were a number of elements in the bill that have been irritants for the U.S., so we are addressing some of those issues.” – Gary Anandasangaree

🎯IMPACT: Bill C-2, a.k.a. the Strong Borders Act, could revoke refugee hearings for thousands, empower mass document cancellations, and realign Canada’s immigration with U.S. demands.

IN FULL

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has introduced the Strong Borders Act (Bill C-2), a 127-page bill poised to overhaul Canada’s immigration framework. The bill includes measures to deny refugee hearings to migrants who have already been in the country for over a year, retroactive to June 2020, and requires asylum seekers arriving between official ports of entry to file within 14 days.

These changes come after U.S. President Donald Trump expressed displeasure over illegal immigrants and fentanyl crossing America’s northern border due to lax Canadian policies. Despite fighting the recent Canadian federal elections on a platform of “standing up” to Trump, Carney’s governing is seemingly being brought to heel by him—having already agreed to suspend a digital sales tax that the America First leader took issue with.

Canadian Public Safety Minister Gary Anandasangaree admitted in a press conference that Bill C-2 was shaped in part by Trump’s expectations. “There are elements that will strengthen [our] relationships with the United States,” he said. “There were a number of elements in the bill that have been irritants for the US, so we are addressing some of those issues.”

Carney’s immigration bill has been met with strong opposition from Amnesty International, the Migrants Rights Network, and other pro-migration NGOs, who complain it will undermine Canada’s pro-migration reputation. Some critics suggest it could invites mass deportations, giving the government’s immigration minister authority to cancel legal documents largely unchecked.

Trump: Biden’s NYC Migrant Hotel Funding was Diverted to Build ‘Alligator Alcatraz.’

PULSE POINTS

âť“WHAT HAPPENED: President Donald J. Trump announced the opening of a new illegal immigrant detention facility, nicknamed “Alligator Alcatraz,” in the Florida Everglades.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: President Trump, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and Florida officials.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The announcement was made Tuesday during a roundtable discussion following a tour of the Miami-Dade Collier Training Facility in the Florida Everglades.

💬KEY QUOTE: “It’s known as Alligator Alcatraz, which is very appropriate because I looked outside, and that’s not a place I want to go hiking anytime soon,” said President Trump.

🎯IMPACT: The facility is expected to begin processing, detaining, and deporting illegal immigrants immediately, with some reportedly self-deporting already.

IN FULL

The Trump administration used Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) money allocated by the Biden government to house illegal immigrants in luxury hotels in New York City to construct “Alligator Alcatraz” in the Florida Everglades, President Donald J. Trump said Tuesday during a roundtable discussion after touring the facility.

Trump toured the existing Miami-Dade Collier Training Facility, which has, in just eight days, been transformed into a detention center designed to process, detain, and deport illegal immigrants, alongside Florida Governor and former Republican primary rival Ron DeSantis.

“It’s a great honor to be deep in Florida—the Florida Everglades—to open America’s newest migrant detention center, incredibly built, and you’re seeing that yourself,” Trump said. “That’s why I said, let the press join us on our walk so they can see what’s happening. It’s known as Alligator Alcatraz, which is very appropriate because I looked outside, and that’s not a place I want to go hiking anytime soon,” the President joked.

“But very soon, this facility will house some of the most menacing migrants, some of the most vicious people on the planet,” he continued. “We’re surrounded by miles of treacherous swampland, and the only way out is really deportation. And a lot of these people are self-deporting back to their country where they came from,” Trump said.

“Quite a few were amazed at actually the number we took the FEMA money that Joe Biden allocated to pay for the free luxury hotel rooms, where he’s paying hundreds of millions of dollars in New York City, and we used it to build this project,” Trump told reporters. “And Ron [DeSantis], it was just a little fraction of that money—the money they spent on that project,” he added.

Despite a bruising primary campaign against DeSantis, the President said he now rates his relationship with the Florida Governor as “a 10, maybe a 9.9 because there might be a couple of little wounds.”

Addressing DeSantis directly, he said, “You’re my friend and you’ll always be my friend. We may even have some skirmishes in the future. I doubt it, but we’ll always come back because we have blood that seems to match pretty well.”

Trump Is Now Detaining Illegals From Three Continents at Gitmo.

PULSE POINTS

❓WHAT HAPPENED: The Trump administration has expanded its use of Guantanamo Bay to house illegal immigrant detainees from many countries, including China, Jamaica, Liberia, and even the United Kingdom, according to internal U.S. government records.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: President Donald J. Trump, U.S. immigration authorities, detainees from multiple nations, and officials from the Departments of Homeland Security (DHS) and Defense (DoD).

📍WHEN & WHERE: Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, with reports of expanded transfers beginning in recent months.

đź’¬KEY QUOTE: “The worst of the worst will be held at the base,” President Trump stated.

🎯IMPACT: The Trump White House emphasizes the use of Guantanamo Bay boosts deterrence against future illegal crossings into the United States and that the facility is being used to house high-risk detainees.

IN FULL

The Trump administration has recently expanded its use of the Guantanamo Bay naval base in Cuba to house illegal immigrant detainees from a wide array of countries, including China, Jamaica, Liberia, and even the United Kingdom, according to internal U.S. government records. These detainees are held separately from the terrorism suspects who remain at the facility.

Officials have stated that most of the detainees are classified as “high-risk,” a designation given to migrants with serious criminal records, histories of disruptive behavior, or suspected gang affiliations. However, the administration has also utilized Guantanamo Bay to detain some migrants it deems “low-risk,” who lack significant criminal histories and are primarily held for civil immigration violations.

The decision to transfer detainees from regions such as Africa, Asia, and Europe to Guantanamo comes as the U.S. immigration detention system exceeds its congressionally funded capacity. However, the ‘One Big Beautiful Bill,’ which is nearing final passage in Congress, would expand funding for federal detention facilities—along with increasing the number of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents—and provide greater capacity to detain illegals.

The administration’s use of Guantanamo Bay reflects its broader crackdown on illegal immigration. This includes the establishment of detention centers in other locations, such as the wetlands of the Everglades, where a facility dubbed “Alligator Alcatraz” was unveiled by President Trump during a site visit on Tuesday.

The Department of Defense (DoD) reported spending $21 million on flights to transfer detainees to the Guantanamo base as of April.

Senate GOP Fails to Restore Medicaid Cuts for Illegals to ‘Big, Beautiful Bill.’

PULSE POINTS

âť“WHAT HAPPENED: Senate Republicans failed to restore a provision barring illegal immigrants from accessing Medicaid to the ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’ after it was thrown out by the Senate Parliamentarian.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Senate Republicans, Senate Parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough, and President Donald J. Trump.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The ‘vote-a-rama’ on amendments to the budget reconciliation bill began on June 30 and was ongoing on the morning of July 1.

🎯IMPACT: The removal of key provisions found in the House of the legislation could push lawmakers in the lower chamber to either outright oppose or demand amendments to the Senate bill once it is passed. This could jeopardize the chances of passage or delay adoption of the ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’ beyond President Trump’s July 4 deadline.

IN FULL

Senate Republicans failed to re-add a measure preventing illegal immigrants from accessing Medicaid to the ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’ during the longest ‘vote-a-rama’ in American political history. The measure was rejected with 56 Senators in favor and 44 opposed. Typically, the amendment would have needed only 51 votes to be adopted. However, Senate Parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough ruled that the provision violated the Byrd Rule, which raises the vote threshold to 60 votes to break a filibuster.

The removal of the measure has angered conservatives who saw the provision as a key component of the budget reconciliation legislation. Notably, a number of policies that were adopted in the House version of the bill have been stripped in the Senate by the Parliamentarian.

While the core of the legislation remains intact, including the implementation of President Donald J. Trump‘s campaign promises of no tax on tips, no tax on social security income, no tax on overtime income, and making permanent the 2017 Trump tax cuts—other provisions that prevented Medicaid funds from being used for the gender transition of minors and the clawback of funding for Planned Parenthood were stripped by the Parliamenarian. Consequently, the more watered-down Senate legislation could be seen as unpalatable in the House.

Some “moderate” House Republicans are already balking at the Senate bill’s larger direct cuts to Medicaid. If they’re joined in opposition by conservative House Republicans, it may be difficult to find a path to bring both sides back to supporting the legislation, jeopardizing its final passage.

President Trump has said he wants to sign the ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’ into law on July 4, though as of the time of publication, the reconciliation legislation is still stuck in the Senate, so lawmakers on Capitol Hill are running quickly out of time.
