Massive explosions rocked a southern suburb of the Lebanese capital on Friday as Israel is believed to have executed its largest military strike against Hezbollah since its 2006 invasion of the country.
“After almost a year of Israel warning the world and telling them that Hezbollah must be stopped — Israel is doing what every sovereign state in the world would do if they had a terror organization that seeks their destruction on their border,” Israeli military spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said in a statement following the attack, adding the action was a “precise strike on the central HQ of Hezbollah which was intentionally built under residential buildings in Beirut in order to use them as human shields.”
The Hezbollah-controlled news network Al-Manar TV claims around eight residential buildings were leveled in the Israeli strike and that high casualties are anticipated. They gave no indication as to whether Nasrallah was killed in the blasts, though Israeli military sources claim the strike was only carried out after it was confirmed the Hezbollah leader had entered the command bunker.

During his inaugural address to the Labour Party conference as the Prime Minister on Tuesday, Sir Keir Starmer for the “return of the sausages” being held in Gaza before hastily correcting himself to “hostages.” The gaffe is dominating coverage of the speech, which lasted over an hour and was supposed to set the agenda for his government, elected with a large legislative majority but a small share of the popular vote on July 4.
“I call again for restraint and de-escalation at the border between Lebanon and Israel. I call again for all parties to pull back from the brink. I call again or an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, the return of the sausages,” he said.
The blunder is receiving mockery from the formerly governing Conservatives, members of Nigel Farage‘s Reform Party, and social media users, who are branding the speech a “complete and utter disaster.”

Elsewhere in the speech, Starmer attacked anti-mass migration protestors and rioters angered by the deadly mass stabbing of several young girls in Southport, England, allegedly by a migration background teenager. However, while condemning those who allegedly “told people with different colored skin… that they should ‘go home,’” he made no mention of Muslim and far-left counter-demonstrators who beat white people at random and issued death threats.
Starmer claimed his party would reduce net immigration “and [Britain’s] economic dependency upon it” but insisted “the debate is not about the worth of migrants.”
“That is toxic, and we must move beyond it,” he argued. The Labour leader was likely referring to an official government report recently confirming that low-paid migrants are a net drain on society throughout their lives.

The mayor of Hamtramck, a city in Michigan with a Muslim-majority population, has publicly declared his support for Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election. Amer Ghalib, who leads the suburb of Detroit, made the stunning announcement through a Facebook post on Sunday.
The news comes shortly after the Democrat splinter movement ‘Uncommitted‘ once again refused to back Kamala Harris in the November election and as Michigan finds itself a critical deciding state in the nation.
Despite acknowledging his differences with Trump, Ghalib described the ex-president as “a man of principles.” In his Arabic-language post, he expressed confidence in Trump’s leadership, stating, “Though it’s looking good, he may or may not win the election and be the 47th president of the United States, but I believe he is the right choice for this critical time.”
Ghalib is no stranger to the media spotlight, creating headlines in October 2023, shortly after the Hamas terror attacks on Israel, where he stated: “Peace can never coexist with occupation and injustice, anywhere and at any time no matter how strong the oppressor or how weak the oppressed is!”
In June last year, Ghalib’s city banned LGBT Pride after the Muslim-majority city council proscribed the homosexual festivities.

Ghalib emphasized his commitment to the Trump endorsement, saying he would not regret his decision, regardless of the outcome.

For this and many other reasons, I announce my support and endorsement for the former, and hopefully, the next president of the United States, Donald Trump.” He further added, “Now, let the caravan begin its journey. Trump acknowledged Ghalib’s endorsement by reposting the message on his Truth Social account.
Ghalib’s support for Trump followed a recent private meeting between the two in Flint, Michigan, which lasted approximately 20 minutes. During their conversation, they discussed topics such as the debates, voting statistics in Michigan and Wayne County, and specific concerns of Arab American and Yemeni American communities. The situation in Yemen was also part of their discussion.
Hamtramck is the only U.S. city governed entirely by Muslims, and over 40 percent of its population is foreign-born.

At a press briefing outside the U.S. Capitol on Thursday, several Democratic Representatives called for reinstating funds to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) and the passage of H.R. 9649, a.k.a. the UNRWA Funding Emergency Restoration Act.
Among the lawmakers pushing the legislation are Reps. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA), who heads the House Progressive Caucus; Jan Schakowsky (D-IL), a staunch ally of former Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA); André Carson (D-IN), the bill’s lead sponsor; and RashidaTlaib (D-MI), a vocal support of pro-Hamas policies. Overall, 65 House Democrats have joined Rep. Carson in cosponsoring the bill.
Earlier this year, U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres assigned the investigative arm of the U.N. to look into Israel’s allegations regarding UNRWA involvement in the October 7 attacks. After investigating roughly 20 staff members, the U.N. found grounds to dismiss nine employees. Significant donors to the agency, including the U.S., subsequently suspended funding, creating a $450 million shortfall. While other donor countries, such as Canada, have resumed their contributions, the U.S. has not.
Anne Bayefsky, Director of the Touro Institute on Human Rights and the Holocaust, argued that reinstating funds would overlook the alleged “connections to terrorism” within UNRWA and send an inappropriate message to both Israel and adversaries of the U.S. In a statement, Bayefsky claimed extensive links between UNRWA employees and Palestinian terror organizations, including Hamas.
Over the last ten years, Western nations have donated over 8 billion dollars to UNRWA, with the United States as the second-largest donor behind the European Union (EU).

The Uncommitted National Movement has declared that it will not endorse Kamala Harris. Founded in the swing state of Michigan, where Arab-American and Muslim voters could tip the balance in a closely fought election, the movement initially mobilized to cast “uncommitted” votes against Joe Biden in the Democratic primary to spook him into adopting a more anti-Israel policy.
Refusing to endorse Biden’s successor as Democratic candidate, the Uncommitted National Movement cites Harris’s failure to address their requests for a meeting with Palestinian American families and a discussion about halting arms shipments to Israel.
“Vice President Harris’s unwillingness to shift on unconditional weapons policy or to even make a clear campaign statement in support of upholding existing U.S. and international human rights law has made it impossible for us to endorse her,” the organization declared.
Harris is attempting to drum up support in Michigan by appearing alongside Oprah Winfrey in a Detroit suburb on Thursday. It will be her third visit to the Wolverine State since entering the presidential race.
Following her debate with former President Donald J. Trump, there was criticism of Harris for some pro-Israel remarks. “Vice President Harris has been pretty clear in previous statements, as she was tonight, that she will continue Biden’s policy of unconditional military and financial support for Israel’s war on Gaza,” complained Reem Abuelhaj of the No Ceasefire No Vote organization, warning there are voters who will feel “unable to cast their ballot for a candidate who is actively supporting genocide.”

While the cause of the explosions is not yet known, Lebanese state media confirms a significant number of Hezbollah members were among the injured, suggesting the terrorist group was the intended target.
The blasts occurred in several suburbs of Beirut, considered to be Hezbollah strongholds, and lasted for about an hour. In a post on its Telegram channel, the Islamist terror group acknowledged that its members were affected by the exploding pagers. Among the wounded is Iran‘s ambassador to Lebanon, Mojtaba Amani, who suffered minor injuries when a pager near him detonated.
State media claims the pager devices were hacked, causing their batteries to overheat and explode. A Hezbollah official, speaking anonymously, has told several media outlets that the pagers were the latest model being used by the terrorist group—implying the explosions were likely the result of a cyber attack.
In recent years, Hezbollah has foregone the use of more contemporary smartphones—instead opting to use pagers and older models of mobile phones over fears of being tracked by the Israeli military. The latest incident, however, seems to indicate the terrorist group’s more outdated technology is still vulnerable to attack.
Israel and Hezbollah have engaged in repeated exchanges of fire along the Lebanese border since the October 7, 2023, Hamas terrorist attacks against the Jewish state. The Israeli military says it will not be issuing any comment on the pager explosions.

The BBC breached its editorial guidelines on more than 1,500 occasions at the peak of the Israel-Hamas conflict, more frequently associating genocide and war crimes with Israel compared to Hamas. British lawyer Trevor Asserson headed a report that identified a significant bias against Israel in the BBC coverage over four months.
The report documents 1,553 breaches of editorial guidelines, including impartiality, accuracy, and adherence to editorial values and public interest. Specifically, it highlights that Israel was more frequently associated with genocide and war crimes compared to Hamas, with a marked disparity in terminology. Notably, Israel was linked to genocide 14 times more often than Hamas.
Former BBC executive Danny Cohen has characterized the situation as an “institutional crisis” and called for an independent inquiry into the state broadcaster’s coverage of the conflict along with Jewish groups. The report alleges that some BBC journalists have shown sympathy for Hamas and engaged in biased reporting. Specific individuals such as Jeremy Bowen, the BBC’s international editor, and Lyse Doucet, its chief international correspondent, are cited for excusing Hamas’s actions and downplaying the October 7 attacks on Israel.
In response to these findings, the BBC criticized the report’s use of AI for impartiality analysis and its interpretation of the BBC’s editorial guidelines.
The BBC has been criticized for months over its bias against Israel during the conflict with Hamas, with six BBC staff in the Middle East being removed from the air after their pro-Hamas social media posts emerged last October.
The broadcaster was also forced to apologize in November of last year for mistakenly claiming that Israel was deliberately targeting medical staff in Gaza’s Al Shifa Hospital.

Britain’s far-left government is suspending a portion of its arms sales to Israel, alleging a “clear risk” that they could potentially be utilized in ways that violate international humanitarian law. In a statement to Parliament on Monday, Foreign Secretary David Lammy said the suspension will affect 30 out of 350 arms export licenses to Israel.
The suspension targets supplies that might be used in the ongoing conflict in Gaza against Hamas, but some exports, such as parts for F-35 fighter jets, will continue.
“It is with regret that I inform the House [of Commons] today that the assessment I have received leaves me unable to conclude anything other than that for certain UK arms exports to Israel, there does exist a clear risk that they might be used to commit or facilitate serious violations of international humanitarian law,” Lammy said.
“We recognize, of course, Israel’s need to defend itself against security threats, but we are deeply worried by the methods that Israel’s employed, and by reports of civilian casualties and the destruction of civilian infrastructure particularly,” the Labour Party politician added.
According to Gaza’s Hamas-controlled Health Ministry, more than 40,000 Palestinians have died in the conflict over the past ten months.
IMPLICATIONS.
British arms exports make up less than one percent of Israel’s total arms purchases, so the move is unlikely to have a significant impact on the course of the war. It is likely intended mainly for domestic consumption, with Muslims in Britain, generally loyal to Labour, turning away from the party over Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer’s insufficient support for Gaza.
Several Labour politicians, including a member of the then-Shadow Cabinet, lost their seats to pro-Gaza independents in the July 4 snap election. Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner has been filmed telling a council of Muslim elders she owes her parliamentary seat to their support and promising to recognize Palestinian statehood.
British cities, in particular the hyper-diverse capital of London, where only 36.8 percent of residents were classed as White British in the latest census, have been regularly disrupted by pro-Palestinian demonstrators since Hamas attacked Israel in October 2023.

Jess Phillips, a Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State in Sir Keir Starmer‘s government and a Member of Parliament (MP) for the Labour Party, has described how Palestinian doctors rule the roost in Birmingham, England’s second city. She said she was given preferential treatment by one of them because she voted in favor of supporting a ceasefire in Gaza just weeks after the Hamas terror raids against Israel in October 2023, which killed around 1,200 people.
Phillips, tasked with “Safeguarding and Violence Against Women and Girls” in Starmer‘s government—despite having trivialized mass sexual assaults by Muslim migrants in Cologne, Germany—said she had “seen better facilities, health facilities, in war zones, in developing countries” when she sought socialized medical care at a Birmingham emergency department recently. However, she was soon bumped to the front of the line.
“I got through because of who I am,” Phillips said, tacitly acknowledging that politicians do not have a clear idea of how the National Health Service (NHS) operates for ordinary citizens because they receive special treatment.
“Also, the doctor who saw me was Palestinian, as it turns out. Almost all the doctors in Birmingham seemed to be,” she continued. “He was sort of like, ‘I like you. You voted for a ceasefire.’ [Because of that] I got through quicker,” she boasted, seemingly not seeing an issue with foreign doctors allocating state healthcare based on patients’ positions on foreign wars.
Phillips previously told Richard Tice MP, of Nigel Farage’s Reform Party, to stop sharing footage of Muslim rioters in Birmingham and questioning why they were not being aggressively policed like white anti-mass immigration protesters. She appeared to justify the Muslim rioters’ actions, saying they believed “racists were coming to attack them.”

Alexander ‘Shabbos’ Kestenbaum — Jewish activist who was given a prime speaking slot at the Republican National Convention and a front row seat to a Donald Trump speech just last week — is now at the Democratic National Convention touting himself as a “pro-Israel Democrat” seeking to “restore the soul” of what he calls “our party.”
The self-confessed former Bernie Sanders voter criticized the Democrats at the RNC and said he was “proud to support President Trump‘s policies,” adding: “Let’s elect a president who will instill patriotism in our schools once again. Let’s elect a president who will confront terrorism and its supporters once again. Let’s elect a president who recognizes that, although Harvard and the Ivy Leagues have long abandoned the United States of America, the Jewish people never will, because Jewish values are American values, and American values are Jewish values!”
Tellingly, however, he did not explicitly state that this president should be Donald Trump, despite his cheering GOP audience inferring that this was his view. Kestenbaum was even invited by Trump’s campaign team to sit in the front row at an event with the 45th President just last week.

Now, it appears they were hoodwinked, with Kestenbaum posting a picture of himself at the Democratic National Convention wearing an “I’m a pro-Israel Democrat” badge.
“Let me also add that as a visibly Jewish person crying as I was recording this, numerous delegates came up to me after, saying they stand with the Jewish people,” Kestenbaum wrote under the picture, referring to a recording of some DNC attendees chanting “Bring them home” in reference to Jewish-American hostages in Gaza. “I have had serious disillusionments with Dems, but am confident we can one day restore the soul of our party together,” he added.
The GOP officials who invited Kestenbaum to speak at the RNC should have known he was using them, as he made his intentions clear prior to his RNC appearance in an interview with Jewish news outlet The Forward.
“I don’t support the Republican Party. There are progressive policy positions that I really believe in, like the Green New Deal, like a $15 minimum wage, like universal health care. These are certainly positions that are contrary to the Republican Party,” he said.
“I don’t support the Republican Party, but if they’re going to provide me a platform and an opportunity to speak about my lived experiences, then of course I will take it,” he added.
At the time, he claimed the Democratic Party “has become ideologically poisoned, and it is this poison, it is this corruption, that is infecting far too many young Americans… Far left antisemitic extremism has no virtue, and the radicalism on our campuses and on our streets has no moral legitimacy.”
Now, Kestenbaum claims: “I have had serious disillusionments with Dems, but am confident we can one day restore the soul of our party together.”
