Fetterman Says He’ll Support Israel Even If He’s ‘The Last Man Standing’.

Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) continues to affirm his support for Israel in spite of divisions within his party regarding the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict. As reported in a POLITICO interview, Fetterman committed himself further to backing Israel’s objective to eradicate Hamas, a retaliatory response to the October 7 terrorist attack that allegedly killed more than 1,200 people. Fetterman’s stance wildly contrasts with the views of many Democratic lawmakers who have advocated for a ceasefire.

“I would be the last man standing to be absolutely there on the Israeli side on this with no conditions.”

– Sen. John Fetterman, December 2023.

Sen. Fetterman – an outspoken opponent of fellow Senate Democrat Bob Menendez (D-NJ) who faces federal prosecution for acting as an unregistered foreign agent for Egypt – drew the media spotlight last month when he publicly demonstrated his support for Israel by draping himself in an Israeli flag and walking past pro-Palestinian protesters gathered outside the Capitol. While Fetterman expressed distress about Palestinian civilian deaths, he emphasized Hamas’ tactic of using human shields in battle. “Only one side has broken the cease-fires. Only one side will systematically rape, torture and mutilate Israeli women and girls… Without destroying Hamas, there will be no enduring peace and a stable, two-state solution,” said Fetterman.

The Senator refrained from criticizing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, stating that the leader’s political future should be determined by Israel’s citizens. Fetterman also acknowledged receiving unexpected praises from conservatives for his consistent backing of Israel’s mission. However, he dismissed focus on his social media activity, asserting, “I don’t spend any time on Twitter and that’s the truth. I encourage you – you can check my personal phone, I couldn’t even get on Twitter if I had to.”

WATCH: Anti-Israel Protestors Clash with NYPD While Mobbing Grand Central, Penn Station, and Moynihan Train Hall.

Anti-Israel protestors targeting New York City transport hubs clashed with police on several occasions on Monday evening. The so-called “global strike for Gaza and all of Palestine” targeted Grand Central Station, the Port Authority Bus Terminal, Penn Station, and the Moynihan Train Hall.

Demonstrators infiltrated the concourse in Moynihan and caused disruption for would-be travelers, in part by staging Islamic prayers. Bus services were disrupted as they marched down 42nd Street between 6th Avenue and 8th Avenue.

Elsewhere, controversial actor Alec Baldwin was caught up in the protest, with police having to separate him from the mob after he refused to condemn Israel and told protestors to stop asking him “stupid questions”.

Scuffles between protestors and police broke out at several locations, with reports of an unspecified number of arrests. Demonstrators can be seen shouting “f*** you!” and “f*** the police!” in footage of the altercations, and jostling and heckling officers in an effort to make them release demonstrators who were being arrested.

‘Vice’ Editor Backed Hamas Massacres as ‘Within International Law’.

Vice News’s former MENA (Middle East and North Africa) Managing Editor endorsed October’s Hamas attacks in an Arabic-language article. Badar Salem claimed the October 7th terror raid against Israel was lawful resistance on Vice’s Arabic website.

“UN General Assembly Resolution 2649, adopted in 1970, recognizes the legitimacy of the struggle against domination and occupation in the context of self-determination,” Salem insisted. “Within this framework, what Hamas and Palestinian resistance movements did/are doing against Israeli targets is within international law, which clearly recognizes the legitimacy of resistance movements defending themselves against the occupation.”

Hamas’s “Israeli targets” included children, women, and the elderly. Some of these were killed while others were dragged back to Gaza as hostages.

Salem argued Israel, not Hamas, was responsible for these killings, however. “When an occupying force faces resistance from the occupied inhabitants, this is not considered the occupied inhabitants’ attack, but a reaction against the occupation itself,” she argued.

WATCH: Turkish Lawmaker Declares Israel Will Suffer ‘Wrath of Allah’, Immediately Collapses from Heart Attack.

A lawmaker in the Turkish parliament collapsed at his podium immediately after declaring Israel would suffer “the wrath of Allah”. Hasan Bitmez had been delivering a speech in the Turkish National Assembly when the heart attack struck him down.

“You will not escape the wrath of Allah,” the 54-year-old railed, before tumbling to the ground himself.

Fahrettin Koca, Minister for Health in the Turkish government, said Bitmez had become “disturbed” during his speech. He confirmed the lawmaker was in intensive care on a heart-lung pump following the incident.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, notionally a NATO ally of the West, is a fierce critic of Israel. He has condemned the Jewish State for its actions against Hamas since the October 7th terror attack on its territory. He characterized Israel’s operations as “the most treacherous attacks in human history” and condemned their “unlimited support from the West.”

Israel Confirms Use of U.S.-Origin White Phosphorous.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed the use of white phosphorous smoke bombs in an attack on Dheira, a village near the Israeli-Lebanon border. The IDF has stated that these potent, U.S-supplied weapons – which cause thick smoke and severe burns – were utilized solely to create smokescreens and were not intended to target individuals or property. Reports indicate the October 16 white phosphorus bomb attack led to at least three hospitalizations and incineration of at least four houses.

The shelling barrage trapped residents inside their homes for hours, with many, like 29-year-old farmer, Uday Abu Sari, experiencing significant respiratory troubles due to the smoke. Fragments of the shells, made in Louisiana and Arkansas in 1989 and 1992, exhibited production codes identical to those used by Israel during a Gaza offensive in 2009. The IDF continues to stand by their statement that the phosphorous shells were used for creating smokescreens and not for targeting or causing fires, and that their actions were compliant with international law.

U.S. defense officials indicated they were aware of the reports and have expressed their concerns over the weapons use, insisting on the importance of adhering to international humanitarian law. This comes at a time when Congress is considering President Biden’s request for nearly $106 billion in aid for Israel and Ukraine. Human Rights Watch Executive Director, Tirana Hassan, has urged U.S. lawmakers to reassess military aid to Israel in light of the shelling incident.

Yousaf

Scotland’s Pakistani ‘First Minister’ Unilaterally Held Anti-Israel Talks With Turkey’s Erdogan, Against UK Policy.

Scottish First Minister Humza Yousaf has sparked a diplomatic row by holding an unauthorized meeting with the Turkish president. Yousaf, roughly equivalent to a U.S. state governor, is a Pakistani-heritage Muslim. He has been pushing the British government to back an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, and import thousands of Gazan refugees. Turkey’s Recep Tayyip Erdogan, nominally a NATO ally, also backs a ceasefire. He has branded the West’s support for Israel against Hamas “barbaric”.

By discussing a ceasefire with Erdogan at the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28), Yousaf breached diplomatic protocol. Foreign policy and defense are reserved to the British central government. Yousaf, as head of the devolved Scottish government, should not have met a foreign government representative without British government officials present.

With Yousaf’s party being left-separatist, it has long attempted to set up a parallel foreign policy. Foreign Secretary (Secretary of State) David Cameron has threatened to expel Scottish government officials from Foreign Office premises over the Erdogan breach, however.

Yousaf is no stranger to controversy in British politics. He swore his oath of allegiance in the Scottish Parliament in Urdu, the official language of his family’s native Pakistan. He also railed against the number of white people in Scotland while he was the government minister responsible for justice matters.

From Which River to Which Sea? Less Than Half Can Name ‘Palestine’ Chant Boundary Lines.

Almost fifty percent 0f college protestors chanting the pro-Hamas slogan “Palestine will be free, from the river to the sea” don’t even know to which ‘river’ or ‘sea’ they are referring. Polling by University of California, Berkeley professor Ron Hassner found only 47 percent of students were able to correctly identify the Jordan River as the geographic feature being referenced. When asked if they supported the slogan, 32.8-percent said they supported it enthusiastically while 53.2-percent viewed it some-what approvingly.

College campuses across the United States have seen large demonstrations against the Israeli military response to Hamas’s barbaric terrorist attack against the Jewish state on October 7th. The domestic increase in socio-political tensions over the conflict have resulted in several violent attacks has resulted in several violent attacks against Jewish students on campuses. In late October, aggressive pro-Hamas protestors on the Cooper Union campus by-passed security at the school’s library, approaching a group of Jewish students  and forcing them to barricade themselves in part of the building for their own safety.

The increasingly anti-semitic protests are likely bolstered, in part, by unprecedented dissent against support for Israel within President Joe Biden’s own government and within the Democrat Party. Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) led a protest at the U.S. Capitol which saw demonstrators storm the Cannon House Office Building. Several were arrested after assaulting U.S Capitol Police.

Several university presidents whose campuses have witnessed recent incidents of anti-semitism were called to testify on Capitol Hill  last week. Members of the House Committee on Education and the Workforce pressed the university leaders on how their institutions were responding to increasingly violent rhetoric – including the “Palestine will be free, from the river to the sea” chant which some argue is a call for genocide. Claudine Gay, the president of Harvard University, said while the slogan “…is at odds with the value of Harvard, but … we embrace a commitment to free expression even of views that are objectionable, offensive, hateful.”

After Attacks on NYC Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony by Pro-Palestinians, California Tree Lighting Will Be Virtual.

The traditional “holiday tree” lighting at the California Capitol in Sacramento will be “virtual”. Officials in the Democrat-led state fear violent protestors would target an in-person ceremony, as happened in New York.

“As we continue to see protests across the country impacting the safety of events of all scales – and for the safety and security of all participating members and guests including children and families – the ceremony this year will be virtual,” said a spokesman for Governor Gavin Newsom.

Newsom’s office offered no specifics on those behind the protests. The Sacramento Regional Coalition for Palestinian Rights had planned a march and rally to coincide with the tree lighting, however. It now complains “Newsom [is] hiding from the public because he doesn’t want to face their anger at his shameful stance in regard to the genocide in Gaza.”

The Rockefeller Center Christmas tree lighting ceremony in New York City was targeted by pro-Palestinian activists. Police had to establish barricades, and exchanged fists with rioters who tried to rush through.

California is not the only place to curtail or eliminate seasonal festivities for fear of protestors. Across the Atlantic in London, municipal officials scrapped a planned menorah-lighting ceremony to mark the beginning of Hanukkah.

“[I]t would be unwise to move forward with the installation which could risk further inflaming tensions,” the officials claimed. Jewish community leaders accused them of capitulating to the mob.

DATA: Gen Z As Likely To Call Hamas ‘Freedom Fighters’ As They Are ‘Terrorists’.

Generation Z, those born between 1997 and 2012, are just as likely to call members of Hamas “freedom fighters” as they are to call them “terrorists,” according to recent polling by the British organization More in Common.

Just under one-quarter of Generation Z – 24 percent – termed Hamas “freedom fighters,” with the same amount calling them “terrorists.” A further 35 percent said they were not sure.

Millennials, born between 1981 and 1996, were similarly more open to calling Hamas freedom fighters than other generations, at 19 percent. However, the majority still called those who launched a violent incursion into Israel on October 7 as terrorists, at 32 percent.

Older generations were far more hostile to Hamas, with 72 percent of the silent generation, those older than 75, 56 percent of baby boomers, aged between 56 and 74, and 40 percent of Generation X, between 41 and 55 years old, labeling the organization’s members as terrorists.

Pollsters also learned that sympathy for Hamas was higher in London than any other region in Britain. Graduates were “twice as likely” to sympathize with Hamas and those in the Gaza Strip than Israel.

“One by-product of the Israel-Gaza conflict is that it’s simply made it impossible to ignore the growing divides in Western societies,” argues political commentator Matt Goodwin.

The divides have been stoked by “mass immigration, a failing policy of multiculturalism, the rise of the radical woke left, and our increasingly left-leaning educational institutions which are, very clearly, leaving many young people with a warped view of the world,” he adds.

WATCH: Mob Targets Jewish-Owned Falafel Shop, Chanting ‘You Can’t Hide!’

An anti-Israel protest turned wildly anti-Semitic in Philadelphia on Sunday evening, with marchers stopping outside a Jewish-owned restaurant, Goldie, chanting accussations of genocide.

Goldie, an affiliate of the CookNSolo group co-owned by Israeli-born Michael Solomonov, was swarmed by hundreds of protesters. Videos shared online depicted the crowd chanting the words, “Goldie, Goldie you can’t hide, we charge you with genocide!”

There is no connection between Goldie and the State of Israel, besides the Jewish link.

Witnesses reported the protesters affixed “Free Palestine” and “This is Genocide” stickers onto the facade of the business. The march was one of the largest demonstrations in support of Gaza in the city, according to the Philadelphia Free Palestine Coalition, the organization behind the march.

Governor Josh Shapiro’s condemned the incident, with U.S. Representative Brendan Boyle also expressing his dismay. In a statement, Boyle criticized any actions targeting businesses simply on account of their Jewish ownership, emphasizing that Philadelphia condemns such harassment and hate. Governor Shapiro affirmed that he had personally offered his support to Solomonov and planned to patronize the restaurant soon.
