U.S. Govt to Pay Ashli Babbitt’s Family MILLIONS in Major Lawsuit Settlement.

PULSE POINTS:

What Happened: The Trump administration has agreed to a nearly $5 million settlement with the family of Ashli Babbitt, an unarmed Air Force veteran fatally shot during the January 6, 2021, Capitol protests.

👥 Who’s Involved: Ashli Babbitt’s family, the Trump administration, Judicial Watch, and shooter Michael L. Byrd, of the Capitol Police.

📍 Where & When: U.S. Capitol, Washington, D.C., on January 6, 2021; settlement details reported on May 19, 2025.

⚠️ Impact: The settlement resolves a lawsuit brought by Babbitt’s estate but does not include an admission of wrongdoing by the government.

IN FULL:

The Trump administration has agreed to pay nearly $5 million to the family of Ashli Babbitt, who was shot and killed by a Capitol police officer in the U.S. Capitol building on January 6, 2021. The settlement comes after Babbitt’s family had filed a wrongful death lawsuit last year, demanding $30 million in damages.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) initially opposed the lawsuit, and a trial would have taken place in July of next year. However, both parties announced earlier this month that they had reached a settlement agreement. Judge Ana C. Reyes of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia called on the parties to announce the deal by May 22.

The DOJ has reportedly agreed to pay Babbitt’s family just under $5 million. Notably, initial reports suggesting that a third of the settlement would be paid to the family’s attorneys and Judicial Watch, which assisted with legal counsel, appear to be false. The claims come from sources who spoke anonymously to The Washington Post. Neither the DOJ nor the lawyers for Babbitt’s family immediately confirmed the deal’s details. According to Judicial Watch’s Tom Fitton, while the organization cannot yet comment on the actual settlement sum, the group “is not getting a third (or any portion) of any settlement. We are representing Ashil’s family pro bono!”

The deal marks the first sense of justice for Babbitt’s family, over four years since she was shot and killed by Capitol Police officer Michael L. Byrd. Following the fatal shooting, Byrd saw no disciplinary action whatsoever and was even granted over $36,000 in retention funds after the killing. He was also provided with a security detail and temporary lodging at a military facility.

President Donald J. Trump praised Babbitt in March, saying, “Ashli Babbitt was a really good person who was a big MAGA fan, Trump fan. And she was innocently standing there, they even say trying to sort of hold back the crowd, and a man did something to her that was unthinkable when he shot her.”

Coward Mike Pence Handed ‘Courage’ Award by Globalists.

PULSE POINTS:

What Happened: Former Vice President Mike Pence received the John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award on Sunday, awarded by the JFK Library Foundation—an institution dominated by political globalists.

👥 Who’s Involved: Mike Pence, President Donald J. Trump, JFK Library Foundation, Caroline Kennedy, and Jack Schlossberg.

📍 Where & When: Award presented on Sunday, May 4, for events on January 6, 2021, at the U.S. Capitol.

💬 Key Quote: “By God’s grace, I did my duty that day to support the peaceful transfer of power under the Constitution of the United States of America,” said Pence.

⚠️ Impact: In the acceptance speech, Pence never once actually mentioned President Donald J. Trump by name, despite the JFK Library Foundation, Pence himself, and JFK’s grandson, Jack Schlossberg, attempting to make the event primarily a criticism of the America First leader.

IN FULL:

Former Vice President Mike Pence continued his criticism of President Donald J. Trump while accepting the John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award this weekend, ostensibly for refusing to question the election results in a handful of swing states during the 2020 presidential election. The former Trump ally turned critic, likely out of fear of backlash from the Republican voting base, avoided mentioning Trump by name, but did take the opportunity to continue to signal his opposition to the America First policy agenda.

“To forge a future together, we have to find common ground,” Pence said, speaking to a room full of what could be best characterized as members of the global political elite. “I hope in some small way my presence here tonight is a reminder that whatever differences we may have as Americans, the Constitution is the common ground on which we stand. It’s what binds us across time and generations… It’s what makes us one people.”

He added that he continues to differ with President Trump and the Make America Great Again movement “on spending, tariffs, and my belief that America is the leader of the free world and must stand with Ukraine until the Russian invasion is repelled and a just and lasting peace is secured.”

Several members of the Kennedy clan were present to award Pence with the JFK Library Foundation honor, including the rabidly anti-Trump Caroline Kennedy and JFK’s only grandson, Jack Schlossberg—who has used social media to consistently harass and criticize Robert F. Kennedy Jr. over his support of Trump and service as his Secretary of Health and Human Services. Far-left factions in the Democratic base are pushing Schlossberg to run for office, likely in the U.S. Congress.

The former Biden government aggressively prosecuted individuals who were present at the U.S. Capitol during the protests on January 6, 2021, abusing the law in what Biden Democrats claimed was a pursuit of justice. The National Pulse reported in June last year that the Supreme Court ruled that the Biden Justice Department overstepped by using a financial crimes law to justify enhanced sentencing for January 6 defendants, with some receiving an additional 25 years under an obstruction provision.

Trump Pardons Jan 6 Supporter, Commutes Sentence of Biden Associate.

PULSE POINTS:

What Happened: Donald Trump granted a full pardon to Thomas Caldwell, involved in the January 6 protests, and commuted the sentence of Jason Galanis, a former associate of Hunter Biden.

👥 Who’s Involved: Thomas Caldwell, a Navy veteran; Jason Galanis, a businessman; President Donald Trump; Hunter Biden.

📍 Where & When: Washington, D.C., January 6, 2021; Berryville, Virginia; Recent clemency decisions by Donald Trump.

💬 Key Quote: “I HEREBY DESIGNATE, direct, and empower the Attorney General, as my representative, to immediately sign the grant of clemency to the person named herein.” — President Trump’s Executive Grant of Clemency for Thomas Caldwell.

⚠️ Impact: Raises implications for future legal proceedings involving similar cases.

IN FULL:

President Donald J. Trump has extended clemency to an individual connected to the January 6 Capitol protests and a former business associate of Hunter Biden. Thomas Caldwell, aged 69, has received a full pardon. Caldwell, from Berryville, Virginia, was involved in the events of January 6 at the U.S. Capitol. Acquitted earlier in 2025 on charges of seditious conspiracy, he was sentenced to time served with no additional probation for his alleged role.

Caldwell stood trial alongside Oath Keepers militia leaders. The Biden Department of Justice (DOJ) previously characterized the group’s actions on January 6 as terrorism. Eleven members, including leader Stewart Rhodes, were charged with seditious conspiracy. Prosecutors accused Caldwell of orchestrating “quick reaction force” units to arm extremists, though the weapons were not used.

In addition, President Trump commuted the sentence of Jason Galanis, a former associate of Hunter Biden, Joe Biden’s son. Galanis, involved in a multimillion-dollar tribal bonds fraud, had been serving a 14-year term. This marks the second case of clemency granted to a former business partner of Hunter Biden. Last week, Trump pardoned former Hunter Biden associate Devon Archer, noting the Biden government ramped up its prosecution of Archer only after he testified against Biden.

Shortly after his inauguration, President Trump issued unconditional pardons to roughly 1,500 individuals linked to the chaotic events at the Capitol in 2021. A number of the individuals had been prosecuted under enhanced sentencing guidelines, which were later thrown out by the United States Supreme Court, which found the DOJ’s use of a financial crimes law to be prosecutorial overreach.

Trump Praises Ashli Babbitt, Says He Is Considering Compensation for J6 Defendants.

President Donald J. Trump is actively considering providing financial relief to January 6 protesters. During a Tuesday night interview, Trump revealed, “A lot of the people that are in the government now talk about it because a lot of the people in government really like that group of people.”

The America First leader said he was “a big fan” of Ashli Babbitt—the unarmed U.S. Air Force who was slain by Capitol Police officer and known liar Michael Byrd. “Ashli Babbitt was a really good person who was a big MAGA fan, Trump fan. And she was innocently standing there, they even say trying to sort of hold back the crowd, and a man did something to her that was unthinkable when he shot her,” Trump said.

The National Pulse previously reported on video analysis showing Babbitt conversing with police and attempting to diffuse tensions between them and some of the rowdier demonstrators.

On whether Byrd, who still serves with the Capitol Police, could face sanctions, the President said he would “take a look at it.”

Raheem Kassam, Editor-in-Chief of The National Pulse, argued in December that justice for the January 6 defendants should not end with pardons and that they should be compensated and the January 6 Committee punished.

Trump Declares Biden Pardons ‘VOID.’

President Donald J. Trump has declared that pardons issued by former President Joe Biden are invalid, as they were signed using an autopen without Biden’s knowledge. In a Truth Social post, Trump asserted that Biden’s decision to pardon members of the House Select Committee investigating the January 6 Capitol protests, among others, is “VOID.” Trump argues that Biden did not personally approve the documents, suggesting a potential crime was committed in their authorization.

“The ‘Pardons’ that Sleepy Joe Biden gave to the Unselect Committee of Political Thugs, and many others, are hereby declared VOID, VACANT, AND OF NO FURTHER FORCE OR EFFECT, because of the fact that they were done by Autopen,” President Trump announced on his Truth Social platform. “In other words, Joe Biden did not sign them but, more importantly, he did not know anything about them!”

Trump’s statements follow concerns raised by the Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project, which suggested Biden’s extensive use of an autopen during his presidency. The project collected numerous documents bearing Biden’s signature, identifying most as produced using an autopen.

Biden announced his pardons on January 20, his final day in office, covering a range of individuals, including former military leaders, health officials, congressional committee members, and Capitol police officers. Referring to January 6 Committee members, Trump said they “destroyed and deleted ALL evidence obtained during their two year Witch Hunt of me, and many other innocent people, [and] should fully understand that they are subject to investigation at the highest level.”

Asked aboard Air Force One about the validity of documents signed by autopen, Trump suggested a court would ultimately decide the matter.

Democrats Delay Vote on Kash Patel’s FBI Director Nomination for ANOTHER Week.

Democratic members of the Senate Judiciary Committee are delaying the vote to advance President Donald J. Trump’s Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director nominee, Kash Patel, for one more week. Under committee rules, the minority party can hold over a nomination vote for one additional week until its next meeting. The Judiciary Committee’s minority ranking member, Senator Dick Durbin (I-IL), was the lawmaker who made the “hold over” request.

The committee’s chairman, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA), blasted Democrat members for the delaying tactic: “Democrats are establishing a double standard by forcing us to meet this morning,” the Judiciary Committee chairman said, noting in the last Congress, Republicans did not force the committee to meet in person just to hold over nominations. However, Grassley relented, acknowledging: “The minority as well as myself has exercised their right and my right under the committee rules to hold over the nomination of Kash Patel to be Director of the FBI. So that nomination is held over.”

Sen. Durbin contends the delay is justified, claiming Patel made a “direct contradiction under oath” regarding his involvement with a choir comprised of individuals prosecuted and imprisoned by the Biden Department of Justice (DOJ) for their actions during the January 6 Capitol riots. Additionally, the Illinois Democrat contends the week delay will give lawmakers more time to review a book Patel wrote.

“It’s filled with grievances, filled with conspiracy theories, and filled with information about how he sided with the January 6th rioters against the police,” Durbin insisted after leaving the Judiciary Committee meeting on Thursday.

Despite the Democrat “hold over” on his nomination, Patel appears to already have enough votes to be approved by the full Senate. A final confirmation vote could come as soon as next weekend.

WATCH: Kash Patel Schools Democrat Senator on FBI Involvement in Jan 6.

Kash Patel, President Donald J. Trump’s nominee to lead the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), took the Senate Judiciary Committee’s ranking member, Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL), to task over his denial of bureau involvement in the lead-up to the January 6 Capitol riots. Citing the Inspector General’s (IG) investigation into the riots and actions of federal officials, Patel detailed the nearly year-long involvement of the FBI in developing sources who later were present and participated in the protests and subsequent riots at the U.S. Capitol.

“Well, let me inform you then,” Patel replied after Sen. Durbin insisted the IG report found no FBI involvement in January 6 and condemned Patel for his public comments suggesting otherwise. He continued: “What it says is it raises an interrogatory, asking why government resources were utilized. I’ve run resources and sources at the FBI. I’ve run sources overseas.”

“It takes months for source developmental networks…” Patel began before being cut off by Durbin. The Illinois Democrat pushed back, asking: “What resources were utilized a year in advance in planning January 6?”

“That’s the question I’m asking,” Patel responded. “And the Biden Inspector General report answered that question in the affirmative, that multiple sources were utilized. And I was simply trying to get to that answer.”

DURBIN TRIPS UP.

Subsequently, Durbin claimed the IG concluded that “there was no evidence that the FBI had undercover employees in the various protest crowds or at the Capitol on January 6.”

Without missing a beat and stumping Durbin, Patel replied: “And there is a huge distinction between undercover employees and sources. I know because I ran them. And anybody in law enforcement knows that, too.”

The National Pulse previously reported that the IG report revealed there were 26 federal informants present in the crowd on January 6, with most of them entering restricted areas of the U.S. Capitol.

J6er Builds Village to Help Fellow Political Prisoners Transition Back to Normal Life.

Jenny Cudd, a participant in the January 6, 2021, Capitol protest, is developing a housing project for fellow January 6 defendants on her property in Fredericksburg, Texas. This initiative, known as the J6 Road Home Project, offers temporary residence and support services to aid former inmates’ reintegration into society. Cudd, who faced probation and fines in 2022 for her involvement in the Capitol incident, is constructing small homes on her 11-acre estate, located about 65 miles from San Antonio.

The project is designed to help occupants transition smoothly by providing access to professional services such as accounting and medical care. Cudd emphasizes the importance of rehabilitation, having experienced the justice system herself. Referring to this initiative as a “blessing of January 6,” she is motivated by her own experiences and aims to extend support to others.

Cudd’s property will ultimately accommodate up to five individuals at a time in 300-square-foot homes featuring kitchenettes and essential furnishings. Currently, one house is ready for occupation, with another nearing completion. Meanwhile, residents are expected to stay for three months or longer, depending on their needs and circumstances.

President Donald J. Trump, who commenced his presidency with pardons for all January 6 defendants, has indirectly influenced Cudd’s mission. With initial occupants ready to join, Cudd predicts the small community will soon be at full capacity.

Local businesses and prominent Republicans, including Mike Lindell, are assisting with the project. Additionally, community support has bolstered Cudd’s fundraising efforts, generating over $30,000. Cudd remains committed to providing a transition path for those she welcomes to her property.

WATCH: This Is What Is Delaying January 6 Defendant Releases, According to GOP Congressman.

Congressman Eli Crane (R-AZ) says a group of federal judges who presided over the prosecutions of January 6 Capitol riot defendants are causing the delay in their release. Earlier this week, President Donald J. Trump, just after taking the Oath of Office, granted a sweeping pardon to almost every individual charged—nearly 1,600 in total—by the Biden Department of Justice (DOJ) for participating in the 2021 riots.

“I just got off the phone with a pretty high-ranking official within the administration who has intimate knowledge of the situation and is also fighting to get these individuals released, who told me that the holdup—and many of you already know this—is a couple of the judges,” Rep. Crane says in a video he posted to X (formerly Twitter). The Arizona Republican continues: “Two that were mentioned are Judge Nichols and Judge Kelly. Keep in mind that these are some of the same individuals that put these individuals behind bars.”

“And one of the things I found most interesting about what this source told me was that these are the same guys that repeatedly will not hold gangbangers that are caught with guns that they’re not supposed to have on pre-trial detentions. So many of the most dangerous criminals here in Washington, D.C. are being given a pass while these judges will not comply, and they’ve been slow-rolling the release of these January 6 prisoners.”

‘PAPERWORK ISSUES.’

Rep. Crane claims the Bureau of Prisons is “ready to go” on releasing the remaining individuals pardoned by President Trump but is still awaiting the signed paperwork from the federal judges overseeing the January 6 cases. While a number of the pardoned January 6 defendants have been released, many still remain in prison.

Since the clemency announcement, social media has been rife with speculation that Washington, D.C.’s Democratic mayor, Muriel Bowser, or the Metropolitan Police Department are behind the delays. However, Rep. Crane’s claim adds credence to speculation that paperwork issues and certification of the pardons are the main reason why some January 6 defendants remain in prison.

President Trump Issues Blanket Clemency for January 6 Defendants.

President Donald J. Trump is granting comprehensive clemency to individuals involved in the Capitol riots on January 6, 2021. The clemency affects nearly 1,600 individuals charged in connection with the event, offering pardons to most and commuting sentences for 14 members of the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers, organizations whose members were largely convicted of seditious conspiracy.

The decision reverses the sentences for both nonviolent offenders and those who engaged in assault against law enforcement officers during the riot. The move effectively nullifies years of lawfare by the Biden government, which saw prosecutorial overreach and enhanced sentences predicated on dubious legal statutes.

In the directive, President Trump instructs the Department of Justice (DOJ) to dismiss remaining indictments against individuals facing charges related to the January 6 incident. “They’ve already been in jail for a long time,” Trump said, announcing the clemency from the Oval Office. He added: “These people have been destroyed.”

The clemency extends to approximately 1,000 defendants facing misdemeanor charges such as disorderly conduct, unauthorized entry to restricted Capitol areas, and trespassing. Several of these individuals have served limited or no jail time. Additionally, the pardons also cover those charged with assaulting law enforcement—some of whom are serving sentences exceeding ten years.

Additionally, the decision allows for the immediate release and expungement of records for the defendants.
