Radical Views of Suspect in Anti-ICE Sniper Ambush Uncovered.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents captured Benjamin Song, a suspect accused of shooting at U.S Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers during a riot at the Prairieland Detention Center in Alvarado, Texas, following an extensive manhunt.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Benjamin Song, 32, a former U.S. Marine Corps reservist, and law enforcement, including the FBI Dallas Field Office.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Song was captured on Tuesday, in Texas.

💬KEY QUOTE: “The FBI has worked tirelessly to arrest everyone associated with the shooting at the Prairieland Detention Center.” – FBI Special Agent in Charge R. Joseph Rothrock

🎯IMPACT: Song faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault on a public servant, aiding terrorism, and engaging in organized crime, with a bond set at $15 million.

IN FULL

Benjamin Song, 32, was apprehended by the FBI Dallas Field Office on Tuesday following a manhunt that included a $25,000 reward for information leading to his arrest. Song is accused of shooting at federal officers during a riot at the Prairieland Detention Center in Texas on July 4. The ambush resulted in a local police officer being shot in the neck.

Song, a former U.S. Marine Corps reservist, apparently has a history of social media posts containing anti-police, anti-Israel, and anti-Trump rhetoric. His posts on X (formerly Twitter) under the handle @BubbleBreakBS include statements like “Do you want to end mass shooting? Abolish the police,” and attacks on both Republicans and Democrats, including President Donald J. Trump and former President Joe Biden.

A GoFundMe campaign tied to Song referenced his involvement in activism from Hong Kong to San Francisco and claimed he was a member of the Socialist Rifle Association. The campaign raised over $3,000 for his legal defense after a 2020 arrest on other charges.

According to the Facebook group, “Behind the Masks,” which documents the lives of those who participated in the Free Hong Kong Movement, “Ben Song, a 26-year-old Uber driver from Arlington, Texas who has been a political activist since he was 13, was moved by Hong Kong’s fight for freedom and flew from the US to show his support.” The group describes him as “half Korean and half Japanese” rather than Chinese, however.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) recently reported an 830 percent increase in assaults on ICE agents compared to last year. DHS Secretary Kristi Noem urged politicians to condemn violence against law enforcement, stating, “This new data reflects the violence against our law enforcement in cities across the country in the last few weeks.” Senior Democrats have been demonizing ICE for weeks, with Minnesota Governor and 2024 vice presidential candidate Tim Walz going so far as to compare them to Adolf Hitler’s Gestapo.

ICE Agent Dragged for a Block By Illegal Immigrant.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: An illegal immigrant allegedly dragged a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer with his van for an entire block during an attempted escape in Dallas, Texas.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Honduran national Jose Melgar-Rivas and ICE officers.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The incident occurred in Dallas, Texas, with details posted by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on Thursday, July 17, 2025.

💬KEY QUOTE: “Attacks on our officers will NOT be tolerated. This resulted in multiple injuries to the officer’s body and ended with Jose Melgar-Rivas in cuffs.” – ICE via a post on X.

🎯IMPACT: The officer sustained multiple injuries, and Melgar-Rivas now faces charges of assaulting a federal officer alongside his existing removal order.

IN FULL

A U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer was dragged for an entire block by a van driven by Honduran national Jose Melgar-Rivas during an attempted detention in Dallas, Texas. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) detailed the incident in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday.

According to ICE, Melgar-Rivas attempted to flee by accelerating his vehicle, dragging the officer and leaving him with severe injuries, including bruising and friction burns. The DHS highlighted the case as an example of the growing danger federal officers face, noting an 830 percent increase in assaults on ICE personnel between January 21 and July 14 compared to the same timeframe in 2024. The agency attributed this rise in part to inflammatory rhetoric from “sanctuary” politicians, which incites hostility toward ICE agents.

“Attacks on our officers will NOT be tolerated,” ICE stated on X. “This resulted in multiple injuries to the officer’s body and ended with Jose Melgar-Rivas in cuffs.”

Melgar-Rivas, who already had a final order of removal, now faces additional charges of assaulting a federal officer.

Eleven Arrests After Sniper Ambush at ICE Facility Saw Officer Shot in the Neck.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Eleven people were arrested after a “planned ambush” targeting corrections officers at a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention facility in Alvarado, Texas, on July 4.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Ten to 12 masked individuals dressed in black, law enforcement officers, and corrections officers at the Prairieland ICE detention facility.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Late at night on July 4, 2025, at the Prairieland ICE detention center in Alvarado, Texas.

💬KEY QUOTE: “Make no mistake; this was not a so-called ‘peaceful protest.’ It was, indeed, an ambush.” – Acting U.S. Attorney Nancy Larson.

🎯IMPACT: Ten suspects face charges, including attempted murder of federal officers, with potential sentences ranging from ten years to life in prison. Another suspect faces charges related to evidence tampering.

IN FULL

Eleven suspects accused of orchestrating a violent attack on the Prairieland U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Detention Center in Alvarado, Texas, have been arrested. The attack left a police officer with a gunshot wound to the neck; as of the time of publication, he is expected to recover.

The incident began around 10:37 PM when 10-12 suspects, some masked, defaced vehicles with graffiti reading “ICE pig” and “traitor” and set off fireworks near the facility. As two unarmed ICE corrections officers responded, an assailant fired 20-30 rounds at them, while another shot an arriving Alvarado police officer in the neck.

Acting U.S. Attorney Nancy Larson explained that the vandalism and fireworks had been intended to lure federal agents into the open. Once law enforcement was drawn out, they were fired upon from a wooded area nearby.

“Today, my office has charged ten individuals with three counts of attempted murder of a federal officer,” Larson said. “Each of the ten are also charged with three counts of discharging a firearm in relation to a crime of violence. Each of these defendants faces a mandatory prison term of ten years and up to life in prison. An additional co-conspirator was charged with an obstruction of justice and conspiracy for attempting to conceal and destroy evidence in relation to the attack, and he faces up to ten years in prison.”

She stressed that the attack “was a planned ambush with the intent to kill ICE corrections officers. Make no mistake; this was not a so-called ‘peaceful protest.’ It was, indeed, an ambush.”

Authorities recovered AR-15 rifles, body armor, and materials like a ‘Resist Fascism’ flag, and ‘Fight ICE terror’ and ‘Organising for Attack! Insurrectionary Anarchy’ fliers, suggesting an organized effort.

Meanwhile, a gunman was killed on Monday after entering the Rio Grande Valley Border Patrol building near McAllen International Airport, Texas, and opening fire.

These incidents come in the same week as Axios reported Democrats were telling them their base has become increasingly radical, particularly on immigration, with one unnamed lawmaker telling the news outlet, “Some of them have suggested … what we really need to do is be willing to get shot.”

Doctor Fired for Mocking MAGA Victims of Texas Floods.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: A pediatrician in Houston, Texas, was fired after wishing death on Trump-supporting flash flood victims in Kerr County, Texas.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Dr. Christina B. Propst, Blue Fish Pediatrics, and Sherif Zaafran, President of the Texas Medical Board.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Following devastating flash floods in Kerr County, Texas, in July 2025.

💬KEY QUOTE: “May all visitors, children, non-MAGA voters and pets be safe and dry. Kerr County MAGA voted to gut FEMA. They deny climate change. May they get what they voted for. Bless their hearts.” – Christina B. Propst

🎯IMPACT: Propst’s employer condemned her comments, suspended her, and later confirmed she was no longer employed. The Texas Medical Board is investigating.

IN FULL

Houston pediatrician Christina B. Propst has been terminated from her position at Blue Fish Pediatrics after posting inflammatory remarks on Facebook about victims of the flash floods in Kerr County, Texas. Her post, which was highlighted by ‘Libs of TikTok,’ stated, “Kerr County MAGA voted to gut FEMA. They deny climate change. May they get what they voted for. Bless their hearts.”

The flash floods have devastated Central Texas, particularly Kerr County, leaving a rising death toll and dozens of children among the victims. President Donald J. Trump has signed a major disaster declaration as search and rescue operations continue amidst ongoing rains.

Blue Fish Pediatrics initially suspended Propst before confirming her termination. The organization stated, “As we previously mentioned in our original statement, we strongly condemn the comments that were made in that post. That post does not reflect the values, standards, or mission of Blue Fish Pediatrics.” They added, “We do not support or condone any statement that politicizes tragedy, diminishes human dignity, or fails to clearly uphold compassion for every child and family, regardless of background or beliefs.”

Sherif Zaafran, President of the Texas Medical Board, also addressed the situation on social media, stating, “There is no place for politicization. The entire focus needs to be on looking for survivors. Any complaints we may receive will be thoroughly investigated.” Many commenters urged Zaafran to proceed with a full investigation into the matter.

Zaafran expressed his sorrow over the tragedy, saying, “My heart is filled with sadness with the news of everyone affected by the power of nature and the catastrophic floods. I pray for the safe return of all those who are still missing. I pray that they are found soon and back in the arms of their families.”

Following deadly hurricanes in 2024, some Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) personnel were found to be intentionally denying aid to Trump supporters.

Gunman Dead After Ambushing Border Patrol Agents.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: A gunman entered a Border Patrol building near McAllen International Airport in Texas and ambushed federal agents before being shot and killed.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: The unnamed gunman, armed with a rifle and wearing tactical gear, and Border Patrol agents.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Early Monday morning at the Rio Grande Valley Border Patrol building near McAllen International Airport, Texas.

🎯IMPACT: Flights at McAllen Airport have been delayed. Graphic photos show the gunman lying dead outside the federal building.

IN FULL

An active shooter was killed after entering the Rio Grande Valley Border Patrol building near McAllen International Airport in Texas on Monday morning. The gunman, who had not been identified as of the time of publication, ambushed federal agents during the incident.

According to a witness, the man was armed with a rifle and wearing tactical gear when he launched the attack. Border Patrol agents responded by neutralizing the threat. The ambush appears to be intentional, with Border Patrol agents purposely targeted. Some reports indicate that a McAllen police officer was wounded during the exchange of gunfire, but they are believed to be in stable condition.

The attack follows weeks of political agitation by Democrat lawmakers, some directly calling for action against U.S. immigration agents. A number of Democratic officials have been arrested for physically interfering with immigration enforcement actions, including Congresswoman LaMonica McIver (D-NJ), who pleaded not guilty to assaulting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) personnel in federal court at the end of June.

Meanwhile, former Democratic Party vice presidential nominee, Governor Tim Walz (D-MN), has publicly likened ICE agents to the Gestapo in Adolf Hitler’s Germany. Additionally, in June, Cudahy, California, Vice Mayor Cynthia Gonzalez posted a social media video in which she called on Hispanic gangs to defend illegal immigrants from ICE agents.

The latest incident caused significant disruption at McAllen International Airport, with all flights delayed as authorities secured the area.

Deadly Texas Floods Leave Dozens Dead.

At least 80 are dead, including dozens of summer camp kids, after unexpected flash floods ripped through Texas over the weekend.

The details: Late Thursday, torrential rain caused the Guadalupe River to overflow, causing widespread flooding into Friday. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott confirmed Sunday that 68 of the deaths occurred in Kerr County – 40 adults and 28 children.

Summer camp submerged: At Camp Mystic, a Christian summer camp, five girls and the camp director were among the confirmed dead. Eleven campers and one counselor are still unaccounted for.

  • Camp Mystic director Dick Eastland died while trying to save his campers

Federal response: President Trump wrote on Truth Social that he signed a disaster declaration “to ensure that our Brave First Responders immediately have the resources they need.”

Rescue efforts: More than 850 rescues were made across the region in 36 hours, with 366 conducted by air.

  • DHS Secretary Kristi Noem singled out U.S. Coast Guard Rescue Swimmer and Petter Officer Scott Raskin, who “directly saved an astonishing 165 victims in the devastating flooding.”

Playing politics: Left-wing news outlets like the NY Times tried to blame the Trump administration’s cuts to the National Weather Service for the loss of life.

  • Homeland Security debunked those accusations, posting a detailed timeline of events, showing it gave “12 hours of advance notice via the Flood Watch and over 3 hours of lead time for Flash Flood Warnings.”

The last word goes back to President Trump, who said: “These families are enduring an unimaginable tragedy, with many lives lost, and many still missing… GOD BLESS THE FAMILIES, AND GOD BLESS TEXAS!”

Rescue efforts are ongoing.

Trump Admin Moves to Build Waterborne Barrier in Rio Grande Swiftly.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem signed a waiver to allow for the construction of a waterborne barrier on the southern border in Texas.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Secretary Kristi Noem, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and the U.S. Border Patrol’s Rio Grande Valley Sector.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Construction planned in the Rio Grande River, Cameron County, Texas, with awards expected by the end of Fiscal Year 2025.

🎯IMPACT: The barrier aims to close capability gaps, deter illegal crossings, and create safer conditions for border agents.

IN FULL

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has signed a waiver for the rapid construction of around 17 miles of waterborne barrier in Texas. The barrier will be built in the Rio Grande River in Cameron County, Texas, within the U.S. Border Patrol’s Rio Grande Valley Sector, to help combat human and drug traffickers.

The RGV Waterborne Barrier Project has been solicited and is planned for award by the end of Fiscal Year 2025, using U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) FY 2021 appropriations. This marks the sixth waiver signed by Secretary Noem for border barrier construction projects along the southern border.

Addressing a capability gap in waterways along the Southwest border, CBP has identified the need for waterborne barriers to combat drug smuggling, human trafficking, and other illegal activities. These barriers are also intended to create safer conditions for patrolling agents and deter illegal crossings through hazardous waterways.

The Secretary’s waiver authority, granted under Section 102 of the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996, allows DHS to bypass certain legal requirements, including environmental laws, to expedite the construction of these physical barriers and roads.

Another Food Corp Is Ditching Synthetic Dyes Amid ‘MAHA’ Push.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Synthetic dyes will be removed from all Hershey’s snacks by the end of 2027, amid a push by the Trump administration and Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to ‘Make America Healthy Again.’

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Hershey Co., Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Governor Greg Abbott (R-TX), state lawmakers in Texas and West Virginia.

📍WHEN & WHERE: United States, changes take effect between 2027 and 2028.

💬KEY QUOTE: “Removing these colors is a natural next step in our program to ensure consumers have options to fit their lifestyle while maintaining trust and confidence in our products.” – Hershey spokesman

🎯IMPACT: The removal of synthetic dyes by major food companies reflects growing pressure from the Trump administration, state governments, and consumers.

IN FULL

Hershey Co. will remove synthetic dyes from its snack products by the end of 2027, citing growing legislative pressure at the state level. The company said it aims to preempt regulations and ensure customer trust by voluntarily shifting away from artificial colorants in its chocolate, candy, and popcorn brands.

“There is a patchwork of state regulations emerging that is creating confusion and will ultimately increase consumer costs,” a Hershey spokesman said. “Removing these colors is a natural next step in our program to ensure consumers have options to fit their lifestyle while maintaining trust and confidence in our products.”

Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has prioritized the removal of “poisonous” artificial dyes from U.S. foods, with an initial focus on encouraging voluntary removal and supporting state-level action. This includes a West Virginia law that will ban the sale of dyed foods starting in 2028 and a Texas law signed by Governor Greg Abbott (R) requiring warning labels on synthetic dye products beginning in 2027.

Hershey joins other major food corporations, such as Nestlé SA, Conagra Brands Inc., Kraft Heinz Co., and General Mills Inc., which have committed to removing dyes from their American product lines.

Texas Bans Land Purchases by China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) signed into law a bill restricting property purchases by individuals or entities from adversarial nations.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Governor Greg Abbott, Attorney General Ken Paxton, and entities from nations like China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Signed on June 20, effective September 1, in the state of Texas.

💬KEY QUOTE: “I signed SB 17 which is the toughest ban in America on preventing the sale of our land and other property to individuals and companies from China, Iran, North Korea & Russia.” – Gov. Greg Abbott

🎯IMPACT: The law aims to enhance national security by restricting property acquisitions from nations deemed adversarial.

IN FULL

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has signed Senate Bill 17 into law, which prohibits individuals or entities from nations deemed adversarial from purchasing land or property in the state. The law, signed on June 20, will go into effect on September 1. It specifically targets nations identified by the U.S. Director of National Intelligence (DNI) as posing national security risks in recent Annual Threat Assessments.

“I signed SB 17 which is the toughest ban in America on preventing the sale of our land and other property to individuals and companies from China, Iran, North Korea & Russia,” Gov. Abbott announced in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

The legislation highlights China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea as examples of adversarial nations listed in the 2025 Annual Threat Assessment. Under the law, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is authorized to investigate potential violations, which would be classified as felonies.

The bill applies to various types of property, including agricultural land, groundwater, mines or quarries, commercial and industrial properties, and residential properties. However, exemptions are made for U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, and individuals legally residing in the U.S. who intend to purchase a primary residence.

Criticism has come primarily from immigrant interest groups—including Asian Americans Advancing Justice (AAJC), which has lobbied against federal programs like the China Initiative cracking down on individuals tied to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)—who have expressed concern over potential racial profiling. The group stated that the bill “creates an overly broad net that places innocent foreign nationals at risk of racial profiling.”

Meanwhile, Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs (D) vetoed a similar bill earlier in June, arguing that the legislation lacked clear implementation criteria and opened the door to arbitrary enforcement. “Today, I vetoed Senate Bill 1109. Improvements to systems that protect our infrastructure are important. However, this legislation is ineffective at counter-espionage and does not directly protect our military assets,” Hobbs said.

Trump Ally Paxton Wins SCOTUS Porn Ban Case.

PULSE POINTS

What Happened: The U.S. Supreme Court upheld a Texas law requiring pornography websites to verify user age, delivering a win for Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.

👤Who’s Involved: Justices of the Supreme Court, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton; Free Speech Coalition (plaintiff), Texas children, pornographers.

📍When & Where: Supreme Court of the United States, decision issued June 27, 2025.

💬Key Quote: “[F]rom the late 19th century onward, this Court has consistently recognized the government’s power to proscribe obscenity… In addition to their general interest in protecting the public at large, States have a specific interest in protecting children from sexually explicit speech.” – Justice Clarence Thomas.

🎯Impact: The ruling reinstates a Texas law requiring age verification for pornographic websites, sets a precedent for other states, and signals a broader shift toward state authority over regulating content online.

IN FULL

The Supreme Court upheld a Texas law requiring age verification for accessing online pornography on Friday, June 27, delivering a 6-3 victory to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and setting a precedent for similar legislation in 19 states. The ruling, penned by Justice Clarence Thomas, rejected arguments from the so-called Free Speech Coalition and pornographers that the law—H.B. 1181—infringes on privacy rights, affirming Texas’s power to protect minors from explicit content.

“[F]rom the late 19th century onward, this Court has consistently recognized the government’s power to proscribe obscenity,” Justice Thomas wrote for the majority, adding: “In addition to their general interest in protecting the public at large, States have a specific interest in protecting children from sexually explicit speech.”

The ruling affirms that the “power to require age verification is within a State’s authority to prevent children from accessing sexually explicit content,” and “H.B. 1181 is a constitutionally permissible exercise of that authority.”

The decision reverberates beyond Texas, impacting laws in states like Louisiana, Utah, and Arkansas, where similar measures to protect children from pornography are in place. The ruling also bolsters Paxton, an ally of President Donald J. Trump currently attempting to primary Republican-in-name-only Texas Senator John Cornyn.
