BREAKING: Fox News’ Pete Hegseth Tapped as Trump Defense Secretary.

President-elect Donald J. Trump has announced his choice for Secretary of Defense, selecting Fox News host Pete Hegseth for the position. Trump’s statement on the matter emphasized Hegseth’s commitment to military service and his alignment with the “America First” perspective.

“I am honored to announce that I have nominated Pete Hegseth to serve in my Cabinet as the Secretary of Defense,” Trump stated. He highlighted Hegseth’s dedication throughout his career to supporting both the troops and the nation.

Hegseth has been a prominent figure in the media and a vocal supporter of military policies that reflect national interests first. He brings to this potential role a background in military service, having served in the Army National Guard and completed deployments to Guantanamo Bay, Iraq, and Afghanistan. In addition to his military service, Hegseth holds a history of involvement in veterans’ affairs and advocacy for service members.

The appointment, however, will require Senate confirmation. If confirmed, Hegseth would oversee the Department of Defense, one of the largest departments in the U.S. government, at a critical time for global security and military readiness.
