Young children face a “significantly elevated risk” of suffering seizures or convulsions after receiving the mRNA COVID-19 vaccinations, according to a recently published preprint study by the United States Food and Drug Association (FDA).
The study, to which more than two dozen scientists and researchers contributed, found that an increased risk of seizures occurred in children aged between two and four who received the mRNA Pfizer vaccine and two and five who received Moderna.
The researchers identified 72 seizures and convulsions among children in the aforementioned age ranges after the first two shots of either Pfizer or Moderna, with most also occurring alongside fevers. The rate of seizures to vaccinations is around one per 2,500 jabs.
“The seizures/convulsions signal in children aged 2-4/5 years has not been previously reported for this age group in active surveillance studies of mRNA COVID-19 vaccines,” the researchers claim.
“Our study detected… a new signal for seizures/convulsions in young children that is being further evaluated in a more robust study,” the researchers concluded.
The study still requires a peer review as it was published as a preprint, with the researchers arguing that the findings “should be interpreted cautiously.” However, the findings are consistent with multiple others that have identified potential adverse effects caused by the mRNA COVID vaccines in children, including “reprogramming” their immune systems.
