Progressive activists and open border advocates are using the death of several immigrants in the Baltimore Key Bridge collapse to push for increasedimmigration numbers in the United States. The deadly accident has claimed the lives of at least six immigrant workers.
Several non-profit groups that provide aid to illegalimmigrants and push for increased immigrant numbers in the U.S. have seized on the deaths to push their open-borders agenda. “American workers got to sleep in their beds and not get hit by a cargo ship because immigrant workers went to work to fill potholes,” wrote David Bier in a post on X (formerly Twitter). Bier, who works for the pro-open borders Cato Institute, added: “Can’t wait for immigrants to rebuild this bridge bigger and better than ever.”

Other non-profit organizations like Global Refuge and United We Dream — which aid massimmigration through charitable programs — stressed the need for immigrant labor to help rebuild the collapsed bridge. “We know we can and we will rebuild,” Krish O’Mara Vignarajah, CEO of Global Refuge, said in a statement. He continued: “And we also know the contributions of our immigrant brothers and sisters will continue to be essential in that effort.”
Mark Krikorian, executive director of the Center for Immigration Studies, called the use of the immigrant worker deaths to promote mass immigration policies “kind of creepy.” He added: “Most of the people who do this are Americans. In this case, for any number of reasons, these guys were immigrants … There’s just no [immigration] policy implications to draw from this [tragedy].”
Responding to Bier’s posts on X, Oren Cass, who runs the pro-worker American Compass think tank, said: “It’s important to understand that for many libertarians, their open borders advocacy leading to a Qatar-like caste system in America is a feature, not a bug.”

💬KEY QUOTE: “Smith’s apparent lack of candor is deeply troubling, and he needs to answer for his conduct.” – Sen. Grassley
🎯IMPACT: The subpoenas and gag orders have sparked criticism, raising concerns over judicial transparency, constitutional protections, and alleged partisan targeting.
IN FULL
The director of the administrative office for the federal courts has stepped in to defend U.S. District Court Judge James Boasberg over the latter’s signing of gag orders, which concealed subpoenas targeting members of Congress during the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Special Counsel Jack Smith‘s Arctic Frost investigation. Robert Conrad Jr., the administrative office’s director, claimed the chief judge for the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia often blindly signed gag order requests if they came directly from the Department of Justice (DOJ).
In a letter from Conrad Jr. to Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA), the administrative office’s director revealed that DOJ subpoena requests typically lack identifying details of the subject. He argued that Boasberg would not have known who the targets were. It is unclear if this same set of circumstances applies to U.S. District Court Judge Beryl Howell as well. The latter also approved a number of Jack Smith’s Arctic Frost subpoenas targeting Republican lawmakers.
Grassley, alongside Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) and Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), had demanded an explanation from Boasberg regarding the one-year gag orders that prevented phone companies from informing Republican lawmakers their records had been subpoenaed in 2023 by Smith. Conrad Jr. claimed that he could not address specific subpoenas and gag orders due to sealed materials, but provided insight into the general practices during Arctic Frost.
Grassley criticized the Biden DOJ for failing to notify Boasberg that the subpoenas targeted lawmakers, stating, “Smith went ahead with the congressional subpoenas anyway, and it appears he and his team didn’t apprise the court of member involvement.” Grassley noted that the DOJ’s Public Integrity Section had advised Smith to consider constitutional protections for lawmakers, but that Smith proceeded regardless.
Sen. Johnson expressed dissatisfaction with Boasberg’s response, calling it “an affront to transparency” and demanding that the judge lift the seal on the case and provide a full explanation. The National Pulse reported in late October that Smith’s Arctic Frost investigation was recklessly expanded with 197 subpoenas targeting 430 Republican-aligned groups and individuals having been issued. An examination of the subpoena targets suggests that Smith was looking to create a RICO case against a large part of the Republican Party’s election network, effectively hampering its ability to run candidates in the 2024 and future elections.

Congresswoman Elise Stefanik (R-NY) declared victory over Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) after securing the inclusion of a key provision in the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which aims to prevent the illegal weaponization of federal agencies. This followed a public disagreement between the two over the amendment’s removal, allegedly at the behest of Representative Jamie Raskin (D-MD).
“After a productive discussion I had last night with President Trump and Speaker Johnson, the provision requiring Congressional disclosure when the FBI opens counterintelligence investigations into presidential and federal candidates seeking office will be included in the IAA/NDAA bill on the floor,” Stefanik wrote in a December 3 post on X (formerly Twitter). “This is a significant legislative win delivered against the illegal weaponization of the deep state.”
On Tuesday, the spat between Johnson and Stefanik, the latter a member of the House Speaker’s own leadership team, became public. The New York Republican—a fierce ally of President Trump—and Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) both threatened to vote against the defense bill unless Stefanik’s provision was included. With a narrow Republican House majority, losing both lawmakers could have resulted in an embarrassing defeat of the NDAA for Speaker Johnson.
The NDAA is expected to reach the House floor later this week, with Stefanik’s provision on weaponization included. If adopted, the Stefanik provision would require the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to notify Congress when investigations into presidential or other federal candidates are launched.

Fox News has named Pakistan-born Aishah Hasnie as its new White House correspondent, despite concerns about her ability to be impartial on the issues of immigration and the deportation of illegal immigrants. Hasnie formerly moonlighted as a board member for USA for UNHCR, a globalist nonprofit group that supports the pro-open borders United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
The National Pulse previously reported on Hasnie’s concerning ties in 2023 when she was named as the television news network’s congressional correspondent. Her now past affiliation with USA for UNHCR still raises questions regarding objectivity, especially as the Trump administration appears poised to enter its next phase of illegal immigrant deportations.
On Tuesday, President Donald J. Trump ordered U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to focus on arresting and detaining illegal Somali immigrants in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area in Minnesota. Meanwhile, ICE finalized a $29.9 million contract for the conceptual design of retrofitting large warehouses across the United States to serve as mega detention facilities. This comes as federal immigration judges have handed down a record 500,000 removal orders over the last year.
Based in Washington, D.C. and established in 1989, USA for UNHCR purports to work “…with refugees from their greatest time of need – from emergency or crisis and beyond through the months and likely years that many are displaced from their home countries.”
The charity’s financial disclosures reveal that it primarily acts as a fundraising vehicle for the U.N.’s High Commissioner for Refugees itself. In 2022, USA for UNHCR reported just over $234 million in revenue, with $182 million passed on as grants to the United Nations. The charity’s website even blurs the lines between its organization and the official U.N. refugee agency, listing U.N. efforts as if they were its own, and even replicating the U.N.’s logo.
Hasnie joined Fox News in 2019 and was named the network’s congressional correspondent in August 2021. She joined the board of USA for UNHCR on December 20, 2021. In an interview in late 2021, Hasnie described herself as “a deeply faithful person. I’m Muslim, and I pray five times a day.”
It is unclear when she left the board of the USA for UNHCR, though she is no longer listed on the nonprofit’s website as a member.

💬KEY QUOTE: “Running from Trump is how you lose, running with Trump is how you win.” – Matt Van Epps
🎯IMPACT: The election result signals potential challenges for Republicans in the upcoming midterms, despite retaining the seat.
IN FULL
Republican Matt Van Epps has won a tight race for Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District seat. Viewed as a test of Democratic prospects for the next national contest in 2026, the election saw Van Epps beat Democrat Aftyn Behn by an estimated nine points.
Though the GOP was triumphant, the gap was much tighter than in past races, sparking unease among Republicans. “It was dangerous,” Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) observed about the unexpectedly slim margin.
The contest attracted intense national focus and hefty spending from both sides. President Donald J. Trump, with considerable sway in Tennessee, backed Van Epps through a virtual rally. Van Epps tied his bid tightly to Trump, warning the GOP, “Running from Trump is how you lose, running with Trump is how you win.”
Democrat Aftyn Behn, who campaigned on local concerns such as cost of living, called the narrow result a promising signal for Democrats ahead of the 2026 midterms. “The margin was close, and that can only be attributed to the thousands of volunteers who showed out,” she said.
The result has fueled talk about midterm tactics for 2026, as Republicans recognize the need for robust turnout efforts. “In a year, it’s going to be a turnout election, and the left will show up. Hate is a powerful motivator,” Cruz stressed.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: German Lieutenant General Christian Freuding, the Pentagon, and U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff.
📍WHEN & WHERE: December 2, 2025, in discussions between Berlin and Washington.
🎯IMPACT: Berlin now relays inquiries through its embassy in Washington, as the U.S. pushes a revised peace plan for Ukraine.
IN FULL
A senior German general said the U.S. Pentagon has halted its routine communications with Germany’s Defence Ministry regarding Ukraine. Lieutenant General Christian Freuding, who formerly oversaw Berlin’s Ukraine coordination efforts and now leads the German army, said that where he once enjoyed regular access to Pentagon officials, that access has now been “shut down.” As a result, Berlin now must rely on its embassy in Washington to seek updates from U.S. officials.
This pause in direct Pentagon–Berlin communications coincides with a shift in Washington’s approach to the war in Ukraine. A U.S.-proposed 28-point peace proposal, which has been undermined by European governments, has reportedly been trimmed to 22 points following consultations with both Ukraine and Russia. Meanwhile, U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff is slated to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin this week to continue efforts to negotiate a settlement.
The change in U.S. posture could have significant implications for European support for Ukraine. While the German government under Chancellor Friedrich Merz has pledged to build what it calls “the strongest conventional army in Europe,” Europe remains unwilling and largely unable to deploy soldiers directly to Ukraine without American support.
German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul has described sending troops to Ukraine as a “remote question,” arguing that Germany’s armed forces are already committed elsewhere, notably with a brigade stationed in Lithuania under NATO obligations.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced on December 1 the arrest of several migrants convicted of serious crimes, including child sexual assault and armed robbery. Among those taken into custody was a Honduran national, Juan Ramos-Ramos, convicted in Hudson, New Jersey, of multiple sexual offenses, including sexual assault of a minor and endangering a child.
Another detainee, Jorge Alberto Menjivar from El Salvador, was convicted in Woburn, Massachusetts, of multiple counts of aggravated child rape and rape by force. Other arrests included a Haitian national, Jean Saint-Cyr, convicted of assault in Brooklyn, New York; a Mexican national, Luis Angel Escobar-Negrete, convicted in Texas of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon; and Raul Rodriguez-Martinez, also from Mexico, convicted of second-degree robbery with a firearm enhancement in Santa Ana, California.
DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin emphasized that “despite a more than 1,153 percent increase in assaults against our law enforcement officers, they continue to arrest the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens.” She added that those detained include “pedophiles, sexual predators, and armed robbers,” underscoring the agency’s goal of removing dangerous migrants from American neighborhoods.
These arrests occur as part of a broader surge in immigration enforcement operations by DHS and ICE across the country. In Chicago, Illinois, for instance, a sweeping campaign known as Operation Midway Blitz, launched in early September, resulted in more than 800 arrests of illegal immigrants, including murderers, rapists, and gang members.

Former President Joe Biden will be honored with the Chris Abele Impact Award at the LGBTQ+ Victory Institute’s Leaders Conference in Washington, D.C., on Friday, where he is also scheduled to deliver a rare post-presidency speech. During his presidency, Biden named numerous homosexual, transgender, and supposedly “non-binary” individuals to key federal roles, such as nuclear official Sam Brinton, who was later arrested for stealing women’s clothing at airports.
Victory Institute President and CEO Evan Low praised Biden, who is notionally Catholic, for having shown “unwavering commitment to ensuring LGBTQ+ people can participate fully and openly in our democracy.” The organization’s board similarly credited him with “historic leadership on LGBTQ+ equality.”
Previous reporting on the Biden government’s spending priorities has noted that approximately $1.5 million was directed toward international LGBTQ-focused programs in 2024, despite Congress putting a pause on such expenditures. Critics argued the spending defied legislative oversight and reflected misplaced priorities amid financial strains at home.
Biden also issued a high-profile proclamation marking the Transgender Day of Visibility in 2024 on Easter Sunday, despite it being one of the most holy days of the Christian calendar, and hosted transgender activists who displayed their chests at the White House.

🎯IMPACT: Thousands of trucking schools face closure if they fail to comply with federal standards within 30 days.
IN FULL
The U.S. Department of Transportation is moving forward with a sweeping crackdown on the issuance of non-domiciled commercial driver’s licenses (CDLs), which has been contributing to a surge in unqualified migrant truck drivers on America’s highways. As part of the effort, Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy announced the removal of nearly 3,000 CDL training providers from the registry maintained by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), citing failures to meet federally required training, documentation, and facility standards. Another 4,500 providers have been placed on notice for potential non-compliance.
Duffy described the initiative as a crackdown on “the illegal trucking chain.” He criticized the prior government under former President Joe Biden and former Transport Secretary Pete Buttigieg, stating, “Under Joe Biden and Pete Buttigieg, bad actors were able to game the system and let unqualified drivers flood our roadways. Their negligence endangered every family on America’s roadways, and it ends today.” He vowed the “Wild Wild West” era of trucking is over under the Trump administration.
The broader action is part of a nationwide audit initiated earlier in 2025, in which FMCSA began reviewing how states issue CDLs to non-citizens and other non-domiciled individuals. The agency found widespread violations: in some cases, licenses were improperly issued to illegal aliens or allowed to remain valid well beyond the expiration of their legal residency.
The crackdown follows a series of high-profile, deadly crashes involving illegal immigrant truck drivers. Earlier this year, a semi-truck driver reportedly executed an illegal U-turn on a Florida Turnpike, causing a crash that killed three people. The incident triggered renewed scrutiny of how foreign-born individuals obtain CDLs.
More recently, another illegal, a 21-year-old driver, caused a fiery eight-vehicle crash on a California freeway, killing three and injuring several others. Officials said toxicology tests determined he was under the influence of drugs at the time of the crash.
Advocates for the new restrictions argue the fatalities prove the urgent need to close loopholes that allow unqualified or unauthorized migrants to operate large commercial vehicles. The FMCSA now plans to force many of the roughly 200,000 non-domiciled CDL holders out of the trucking industry over the coming years.

🎯IMPACT: The changes will be a relief to many young parents who feel that too many vaccines are pushed on infants and young children too early in life.
IN FULL
An advisory committee appointed by Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is expected to propose major revisions to U.S. childhood vaccination schedules, including the possibility of postponing the hepatitis B shot normally given to newborns. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) vaccine advisory group is set to debate and vote on the recommendations during a two-day meeting beginning December 4.
Kennedy, who has been a prominent critic of federal vaccination policies, previously dismissed the entire 17-member CDC advisory panel and replaced it with less establishment figures, including several well-known vaccine skeptics.
President Donald J. Trump endorsed delaying the hepatitis B vaccine for babies earlier this year, saying, “Hepatitis B is sexually transmitted. There’s no reason to give a baby that’s almost just born hepatitis B. So I would say wait till the baby is 12 years old and formed, and take hepatitis B.”
The upcoming debate is unfolding alongside Kennedy’s broader effort to reshape federal vaccine policy. Since taking office, he has repeatedly questioned the safety of several childhood and COVID-19 vaccines. He has also argued that a possible link between vaccines and autism has not been “debunked,” stressing: “The claim ‘vaccines do not cause autism’ is not an evidence-based claim because studies have not ruled out the possibility that infant vaccines cause autism.”

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has been directed by the Trump administration to focus on arresting and detaining illegal Somali immigrants in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. The agency will prioritize the targeting of migrants with deportation orders. The enhanced operations are expected to begin this week.
“Somalians ripped off [Minnesota] for billions of dollars. Every year, billions of dollars, and they contribute nothing. The welfare is like 88 percent. I don’t want them in our country,” President Donald J. Trump said during a Cabinet meeting earlier on Tuesday. “Their country is no good for a reason. Their country stinks. We don’t want them. We are going to go the wrong way if we keep taking in garbage to our country,” he continued, adding: “These aren’t people that work. These are people who do nothing but complain… When they come from hell, and they complain and do nothing but bitch, we don’t want them in our country. Let them go back to where they came from and fix it.”
Late last month, the President directed his administration to begin a review of Somali green card holders, as well as ordering the end of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for illegal Somali immigrants that had been extended to March 17, 2026, under the former Biden government. Trump cited ongoing issues with Somali gangs and public corruption as reasons for the policy shift.
However, Democrat leaders in Minnesota are already criticizing the planned ICE action. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey (D) expressed solidarity with the Somali community, saying, “Minneapolis is proud to be home to the largest Somali community in the entire country.” St. Paul Mayor Melvin Carter (D) called the actions “un-American.” Meanwhile, Minneapolis City Council member Jamal Osman (D), himself born in Somalia, condemned the administration’s rhetoric, describing it as “racist, xenophobic, Islamophobic.”
The National Pulse reported on Monday that Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent had announced the Treasury Department has initiated investigations into into allegations of mismanagement by Governor Tim Walz (D-MN) and the former Biden government, which allowed over $1 billion in taxpayer dollars to be funneled by members of Minnesota’s Somali immigrant community to Islamist terrorist groups in their home country, including al-Qaeda franchise al-Shabaab.
Walz, the Democrats’ failed 2024 vice presidential candidate, is facing allegations leveled by members of his own administration that he ignored evidence of the Medicaid fraud scheme and instead retaliated against the whistleblowers, apparently in an attempt to cover up the corruption.
Notably, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem appeared to indicate during the aforementioned Cabinet meeting that an estimated 50 percent of visa holders from Somalia, residing in Minnesota, obtained legal status through fraudulent means.
