Over at The Wall Street Journal‘s Washington Wire, Janet Hook writes a naive column suggesting the NBC/Marist poll of Republican primary voters in Iowa, New Hampshire and New Jersey is not so bad for Jeb Bush.

Of course, he may survive it, but 36 percent of Iowa primary voters say support for Common Core is unacceptable to them, as do a whopping 46 percent of primary voters in New Hampshire and South Carolina.  And that is before the campaign has even really begun.

Of course, it is early, and we don’t yet know how poll results will translate into voters’ actual behavior.  But any candidate with a brain—and Jeb Bush certainly has one—is going to be very concerned to learn he might have ruined his chances with one-third to one-half of the primary electorate with this one issue.
