New Q Poll: Trump, Cruz in Statistical Tie

trump_cruzThe latest Quinnipiac poll shows Donald Trump leading Ted Cruz 28 percent to 24 percent — within the poll’s margin of error. Cruz now also leads in the favorability ratings, with 68 percent of Republicans having a favorable opinion and just 5 percent an unfavorable opinion of Cruz.

Only 5 percent of Republicans say they would not vote for Cruz is he were the nominee, compared to 28 percent who say the same about Trump? No way! Trump has now displaced Jeb Bush as the GOP candidate the most GOP voters would not support.

Where is Marco Rubio in all this? He is holding steady at 12 percent, in a statistical tie for third place with Dr. Ben Carson who is at 10 percent.

In head to head match-ups with Hillary Clinton, Cruz beats Clinton by one point, while Rubio ties her. Hillary beats Trump 47 percent to 40 percent — as of today, I hasten to add, just a snapshot in time.
