I think that the key thing in this is: Hillary wins when the race is about Trump, and Trump wins when the race is about Hillary. And I think that Trump on the offense works because he is capable of making the race about Hillary. I think that in a classical race where Trump were just simply to pull back and be a version of Mitt Romney or [John] McCain, he won’t win. But I also think that if he’s a caricature of himself and is making the race about him and his interactions with the world and events, he’s not going to win either.
