LEAKED Email: Colin Powell Admits Clinton’s Health “Doesn’t Look Good”

We learned a lot about former Secretary of State Colin Powell this week after his emails were hacked and distributed to members of the media. We also learned a lot about Hillary Clinton.

While the media focuses on Powell’s unsurprising comments about Donald Trump, calling him a “racist” and a “national disgrace” — Powell endorsed President Obama in 2008 and 2012 — the real takeaway from the leaked emails was about Hillary’s health concerns.

Via the Washington Times:

According to the leaked emails, Mr. Powell and Democratic mega-donor Jeffrey Leeds chatted about Mrs. Clinton’s health in March 2015.

“Not sure, but she has launched a story line that will be picked up. I think there’s something to it,” Mr. Powell wrote about Mrs. Clinton’s well-being at the time. “On HD tv she doesn’t look good. She is working herself to death. After speaking at the UN and doing the crummy press conference she flew to SF to go do a paid gig for EBay and then went to Marc’s house to get ready for a money dinner for the Clinton Foundation. I was in Marc’s second house behind it and ducked her so we didn’t turn loose another email story by being seen together. She then flew back east the next morning. She will turn 70 her first year in office.”

Mr Leeds, responding minutes later, said Democratic Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island also had concerns about Mrs. Clinton’s well-being.

“Sheldon Whitehouse, who is a huge Clinton supporter, said they were both giving speeches at the same event a few months back and she could barely climb the podium steps,” Mr. Leeds replied.

Back in December 2015, Scott Adams — the creator of Dilbert, and a pretty darn good prognosticator — was one of the first to publicly speculate that Clinton was sick. The Powell/Leeds conversation took place several months prior to that. Clearly there have been real concerns about her health, even within the inner circle of the establishment, for quite some time.

Sensing a brewing crisis, the Clinton campaign has chosen to deal with legitimate questions about Hillary’s health in two ways.

First, they have attempted to dismiss the questions as conspiracy theories unworthy of coverage, often attributing such concerns to the “alt-right,” a movement the Clinton campaign has spent weeks demonizing as “racist” and “bigoted.” So right away, if you are a reporter asking legitimate questions about a presidential candidate’s health, they are attempting to associate you with a fringe political movement.

That ultimately didn’t work, as the health story has now taken hold. Now the campaign is getting even more aggressive. The Daily Mail‘s David Martosko asked a legitimate question on Twitter on Friday:

And as The Gateway Pundit reported, Clinton aides and media defenders pounced. Nick Merrill, Clinton’s traveling press secretary, mocked Martosko’s suggestion and told him to “delete his account.” Adam Parkhomenko, National Field Director for the Democratic Party, told Martosko he should lose his job.

Of course, Martosko was right to express concern. Two days later, Clinton collapsed outside the 9/11 memorial event. The Clinton campaign first blamed heat exhaustion, before changing the story and instead blaming pneumonia.

Merrill, who travels with Clinton, must have known she was sick. But this is how the Clintons always deal with their problems — they take a page right out of Saul Alinsky’s playbook and attack the credibility of the person making the observation, and attach them to all kinds of negative associations, like being a misogynist or a bigot. This kind of tactic is bad enough in a campaign, but imagine it being used by a president? Absolutely disqualifying.

According to a new Politico/Morning Consult poll, 50 percent of Americans believe Hillary Clinton has lied about her health to the American people. Forty-four percent of Americans believe her health would negatively impact her ability to serve. Like it or not, Hillary’s health is now a major issue heading into November.
