To Paul Ryan on Defunding Planned Parenthood: Just Do It.

The Los Angeles Times editorial board offered some friendly political advice to Paul Ryan: “Drop the crusade against Planned Parenthood.”

Anytime establishment liberals offer political advice to conservatives, a good general rule is: do the opposite.

I have some better advice: Defund Planned Parenthood now.

Today would be nice, in honor of David Daleiden’s heroism and as an act of defiance to the Planned Parenthood-funded California attorney general prosecuting Daleiden for exposing Planned Parenthood’s gruesome business model. In his latest, just-released video, a former Planned Parenthood director explains that whether or not a baby who survives an abortion attempt gets treatment depends on who is in the room at the time.

Oh, and she discusses the problem with delivering intact brains to tissue companies willing to generously share the profits with abortion providers: “Part of the issue is, it’s not a matter of how I feel about it coming out intact,” she says, “but I got to worry about my staff, and people’s feelings about it coming out looking like a baby.”

Do it because it’s the right thing to do. The nation’s largest abortion provider shouldn’t have access to my tax dollars.

Do it because its makes political sense. The abortion issue is a winning issue for Republicans, as we have shown repeatedly. Even The New York Times just published an op-ed: “To Win Again Democrats Must Stop Being the Abortion Party.”

Do it to prove to Republican voters that the GOP can deliver on at least one of the Party’s many promises.

Do it because Planned Parenthood funds not only abortions but Democrats. Planned Parenthood’s PAC gave over $700,000 in the 2016 election cycle to federal candidates, 99 percent of them Democrats. The current California attorney general prosecuting Daleiden received thousands in Planned Parenthood blood money over the years.

Do it because defunding Planned Parenthood will gain Republicans some strange, new respect in the corporate world, which currently fears them not at all.

Do it to finally deliver on the Reagan-era promises to defund the Left, which builds progressive institutions on the taxpayers’ dime.

Defund the Left. Starting with Planned Parenthood. Now.

Today would be nice, but tomorrow is acceptable. Here’s the bottom line: Don’t go on spring break without having done it.
