Trump: DeSantis May Drop Out, Run for Senate.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis may drop “out of the Presidential race in order to run, in Florida, against Rick Scott for Senate,” according to a new post from former President Trump. The “rumor” has been called “fake news” by DeSantis press secretary Bryan Griffin, who himself is accused of running a number of anonymous pro-DeSantis accounts on X (formerly Twitter).

Polling following the first Republican presidential debate held last week in Milwaukee, Wisconsin has shown little movement among the candidates, with former President Trump continuing to hold a commanding lead – despite declining to participate in the debate. At least one betting odds bookmaker, however, now believes tech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy – instead of DeSantis – is the favorite for second place in the Republican primary following his debate performance.

Florida Senator Rick Scott may be vulnerable to a primary challenge from someone like Governor DeSantis. Some of his Republican colleagues in the Senate at least partially blame the Scott’s management of the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) and its finances for the Republican failure to retake the U.S. Senate during the 2022 mid-term elections. Scott also attempted a failed leadership coup against Republican Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell at the end of last year.

Former Congresswoman Debbie Mucarsel-Powell, a Florida Democrat, has announced her intention to challenge Scott for the U.S. Senate in the 2024 general election.

Rick Scott was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 2018, after serving for two terms as the Governor of Florida. According to Morning Consult, Scott holds a 72 percent approval rating among Florida Republicans – with 38 percent strongly approving of his job performance, and 34 percent saying they ‘somewhat approve.’

SMEAR CAMPAIGN: Populist Leader Attacked With Dog Feces.

Beatrix von Storch, the Deputy Leader of the populist Alternative for Germany (AfD) Party, was attacked over the weekend when a young political opponent smeared dog excrement on her stomach in front of a large audience. The incident occurred after von Storch gave a lecture in the town of Daun in the Rheinland-Palatinate on Friday evening. The attacker pretended to want a photograph with the politician before he reached into his pocket with his bare hand and smeared the excrement on her. He was quickly apprehended by the German police and is now under investigation for insult and attempted bodily injury.

Addressing the incident on X (formerly Twitter) von Storch said, “We fight with arguments, those who hate the AfD fight with feces, we oppose their hate with persuasion and the love of our country. The love has always been stronger than the hate.”

Von Storch held another event on Saturday in Hesse, which almost ended disastrously after a man tried to smuggle three knives into the discussion but was caught by the event’s security.

This was the second time in recent weeks that an AfD politician was attacked following the vicious beating of the Romanian-born chairman of the party’s Augsburg branch, Andreas Jurca, who was called a “f***ing Nazi,” and suffered two black eyes, scratches, multiple bruises, and was unable to walk without crutches.

The political rhetoric against the AfD is becoming increasingly extreme as the party continues to surge in the national polls. The German establishment is considering a ban on the party as a result.

Romney Says Ukraine Aid Is ‘Best National Defense Spending Ever’.

Senator Mitt Romney (R-Utah) praised the Biden regime for sending billions of dollars in taxpayer funds to aid Ukraine in its war against Russia. Romney called it the “best national defense spending” the US has ever done, trouncing the money spent by the United States in helping defeat Hitler, communism, and/or tackling the Chinese Communist Party contemporaneously.

The embattled Utah Senator argued that supporting Ukraine is crucial for weakening Russia, which ultimately benefits American national security and challenges China’s territorial ambitions. The Biden regime has sent over $200 billion to Ukraine since Russia’s invasion last year and has proposed an additional $10 billion. However, some Americans have criticized this decision, citing the ongoing inflation and prioritization of foreign aid over domestic issues.

Residents of Maui expressed their discontent with President Biden’s decision to allocate additional funds to Ukraine while they face displacement due to devastating wildfires in the town of Lahaina. One Maui resident Amanda Cassidy told the media: “I think people really want to see you show up for us and provide an eighth of what you’re giving to Ukraine. It’s outrageous. Lahaina is so hurt right now and that was tone-deaf.”

Over 100 people have perished since wildfires ravaged the Hawaiian island earlier this month. Reports indicated that well over 400 residents remain missing, and officials expect the death toll to continue to rise.

85 Arrests, 11 for Sexual Assault at ‘Multicultural’ Notting Hill Carnival.

London’s annual Notting Hill Carnival, a multicultural street festival notorious for rampant criminality, saw scores of arrests prior to midnight on its first day, including multiple sexual assaults and attacks on police officers.

As of 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, the Metropolitan Police confirmed there had been 85 arrests, for the following crimes:

  • Assault on a police officer (10)
  • Robbery (1)
  • Criminal damage (2)
  • Public order (6)
  • Possession of an offensive weapon (26)
  • Drugs (18)
  • Sexual assault (11)
  • Assault occasioning Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH) (1)
  • Assault occasioning Actual Bodily Harm (ABH)/Common assault (4)
  • Other (6)

The carnival continues tonight, with Sunday having been the Children’s Day portion of the event.

It returned to London for the first time since the onset of the Chinese coronavirus pandemic last year, accompanied by a number of violent incidents. These included a policewoman being sexually assaulted by two men in a crowd and a rapper being stabbed to death in an attack which resulted in five arrests but no charges.

Far-left Labour mayor Sadiq Khan claims the carnival is “part of the fabric of our city,” where “we don’t just tolerate our diversity – we embrace and celebrate it” – but the Metropolitan Police Federation, which serves as a union for rank-and-file London police officers, has long lobbied for it to be shut down.

“Every year our brave officers come under attack at this event. Colleagues dread policing it. And yet nothing changes,” they complained in  2022.

Pope Francis Declares U.S. Catholic Conservatives ‘Backward’ Over Politics.

Pope Francis has called American Catholic Conservatives ‘backward,’ suggesting they have replaced faith with ideology and that the correct interpretation of Catholicism and Christian doctrine is to allow for change over time.

The pontiff made the remarks earlier this month during a private meeting with Portuguese members of his Jesuit religious order in Lisbon. The comments were released on Monday after being vetted by the Vatican’s secretariat of state.

He further suggested that the U.S. Catholic church has a “very strong, organized, reactionary attitude” after he himself has faced increased criticism for his overemphasis on political issues, including his support for the green agenda, vaccines, and left-wing economics.

“I want to remind these people that backwardness is useless, and they must understand that there’s a correct evolution in the understanding of questions of faith and morals,” he added.

The Pope has made increasingly bizarre comments in recent weeks. Last week, he urged a gathering of young Russian Catholics to follow in the path of the country’s expansionist monarchs such as Peter the Great – whom President Putin idolizes –and Catherine the Great, referring to them as having ruled over a “great, enlightened empire of great culture and great humanity.”

‘No Whites Allowed’: CA School Hosts Segregated Play Dates.

Anthony Chabot Elementary School in Oakland, California, is reportedly hosting a “playdate social” for children from every racial and ethnic background besides white.

“If your family identifies as Black, Brown, or API or are [sic] a parent/caregiver of a Black, Brown, or API student. Come hang out while we get a chance to know each other and build our community as we kick off this schoolyear [sic],” reads the invite to the event, hosted by the school’s so-called Equity & Inclusion Committee.

“I dunno about others, but I’m genuinely upset about what ultimately boils down to a “No whites allowed” playdate,” complained the Reddit user who shared the invite online, saying their child attends the school involved.

“How is this productive? Why are we continuing to segregate people, let alone KIDS,” they continued. “I feel this is more divisive, and we’ll look back in 5, 10, 20 years and cringe so hard that we tried to beat racism by segregating kids of color from white kids.”

TUCKER: Biden ‘Hates’ Hungary, Russia For Being Christian Nations.

Tucker Carlson believes Joe Biden’s government cannot resist harassing Hungary, a NATO ally, because it identifies too explicitly as Christian – much like Russia. “They hate Hungary, and they hate it not because of what’s it done but because of what it is: It’s a Christian country, and they hate that, and that’s the truth,” Carlson said in a recent speech in Budapest, the Hungarian capital.

“[I]t’s not a particularly provocative Christian country. I don’t think most Hungarians go to church. It’s not a theocracy; you’re not required to believe in the Catechism to live here, it’s nothing like that. It’s a soft Christian country… Three-hundred years ago people would look at modern Hungary and say: ‘That’s not a Christian country.’ But by modern standards it’s one of the last countries that identifies as a nation built on Christian precepts… [T]hat is enough to incite our policymakers in the United States, and it’s exactly why they hate Russia, by the way.”

Hungarian leader Viktor Orban has described his country in similar terms, saying: “Christianity is culture and civilization. We live in it. It is not about how many people go to church or how many pray honestly. Culture is the reality of everyday life.”

Compared to Hungary, Russia is far more multi-confessional, containing several constituent republics in which Islam is the majority faith, and even one in which Buddhism is the majority faith.

Nevertheless, the once-persecuted Russian Orthodox Church was restored to a prominent place in public life after the end of communism, and became an important cultural link with countries in the Russkiy mir (“Russian world”) like Ukraine.

The Ukrainian government has attempted to sever the Orthodox church in Ukraine’s links to the Patriarch of Moscow, however, backing an alternative, largely unrecognized church and turning over important religious sites to them.

Biden Wants Cash for New Vaccines After CDC Admits They Don’t Stop Transmission.

Joe Biden has requested additional funding from the U.S. Congress to develop a new coronavirus vaccine to combat the latest variant, warning that everyone will be ‘tentatively’ encouraged to get another booster shot.

Biden, who has spent weeks on end on vacation, told a reporter amidst a chorus of boos, “I signed off this morning on a proposal we have to present to the Congress a request for additional funding for a new vaccine that is necessary, that works.”

“Tentatively it is recommended that it will likely be recommended everybody get it no matter whether they’ve gotten it before or not,” he added.

Pharmaceutical giants Pfizer, Moderna, and Novavax are all in the process of updating vaccines to combat the new strains. All will require approval from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which only last week admitted that the vaccines do not prevent transmission from one of the latest variants known as BA.2.86 or “Pirola.”

The number of people willing to get boosted has fallen dramatically over the past few months, with only 17 percent of the American public receiving the latest “bivalent Covid booster.”

Desperate DeSantis PAC Dumps $12M of Donor Cash Into New Ads.

Ron DeSantis’ super PAC ‘Never Back Down‘ has poured over $12.3 million into a new advertisement campaign in a desperate attempt to reinvigorate the Florida Governor’s 2024 Republican presidential nominee campaign.

The vast majority of the funds was allocated to the state of Iowa, in which the Florida Governor trails former President Donald Trump by over 20 points. Around $11.4 million has been spent targeting media markets in the state, with the rest used for a national buy on the already DeSantis-sympathizing Fox News, according to AdImpact data.

The ads are due to start on September 6 and are expected to run through until Halloween.

Never Back Down’s total spend is up to $31 million, outspending Donald Trump’s super PAC, MAGA Inc, by nearly $10 million. Only Tim Scott’s TIM PAC has spent more at $37 million.

However, Never Back Down has announced its intention to increase ad spending to as much as $25 million in Iowa and New Hampshire, where DeSantis is polling fourth behind the 45th President, Vivek Ramaswamy, and Chris Christie. The campaign will include TV bookings, digital and direct advertisement – such as mailers and text messages – and will shift focus onto the Governor of Florida’s “personal qualities” and his wife, Jill “Casey” DeSantis.

Despite the staggering financial commitments the super PAC has made to DeSantis, rumors abounded last month that it may look to abandon the Florida Governor due to his crumbling numbers and support.

Tropical Storm Idalia

Florida Braces for Storm Idalia, Forecasted to Intensify Into Hurricane.

Tropical Storm Idalia is expected to become a hurricane on Tuesday as it moves off the eastern coast of Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula towards the U.S. state of Florida. With maximum sustained winds of 40 mph, the storm is currently moving northeast at just 3 mph.

Throughout the day today, the storm will begin to make a more noticeable northward movement, gaining forward speed as it enters the eastern Gulf of Mexico tonight and into Tuesday. Weather experts predict the storm will intensify over the next 24 hours. It is forecasted to make landfall in Florida as a Category 2 hurricane on Wednesday morning. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has declared a state of emergency for 33 counties along the Gulf Coast as a precautionary measure.

Currently, Idalia is approximately 95 miles off the coast of Cozumel, Mexico. Heavy rain has been reported in parts of the Yucatan Peninsula and western Cuba due to the tropical storm. The National Hurricane Center has issued hurricane and storm surge watches for parts of Florida’s Gulf Coast.

A second hurricane, named Franklin, is moving across the western Atlantic and could potentially affect Bermuda in the coming days. It is currently a Category 2 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 100 mph, moving to the NNW at 8 mph. Franklin is about 565 miles southwest of Bermuda. Over the next few days, it is expected to strengthen further, potentially reaching major hurricane status on Monday.
