The vast majority of Republican voters – 74 percent – agree that GOP Senate Minority leader Mitch McConnell should resign from his position, with a whopping 49 percent “strongly agreeing” and another 25 percent “somewhat agreeing”, according to a recent survey of 1,062 likely voters from Rasmussen Reports.
Just one in five Republicans disagreed, with only three percent telling the pollsters that they “strongly disagree,” and want McConnell to stay. A further eight percent answered that they were not sure.
The same respondents were asked what their impression of McConnell is, to which only 34 percent of Republicans gave a positive response. Just seven percent answered “very favorable,” with 27 percent answering “somewhat favorable.” In fact, more Democrats have a “very favorable” impression of McConnell than GOP voters, at 12 percent.
The majority of Republicans have an unfavorable impression of McConnell at 56 percent, with 29 percent having a “very unfavorable” impression and 27 percent answering “somewhat unfavorable.”
McConnell’s health has been increasingly questioned over the past several months after he has twice fallen into a catatonic state while giving press conferences and having to be dragged away by his aides.
Meanwhile, McConnell-world is openly panicking about their D.C. grift coming to an end, with chief McConnell consultant Josh Holmes and his “partner” Michael Duncan having full-fledged X (formerly Twitter) breakdowns and threatening to deport right-wing reporters who stand against McConnell or his friend Brian Kemp in Georgia.
