In contrast, only 7 percent of Republicans expressed support for Hamas, with 71 percent siding with Israel. The poll also analyzed the correlation between age groups and support. The younger participants aged 18-24 were more inclined to back Hamas (17 percent) or remain undecided (53 percent) than the older participants aged 65 and above, the majority of whom sided with Israel (84 percent). Amid the ongoing conflict, a noteworthy upsurge in antisemitic behavior has been reported by Jewish individuals nationwide.
On the issue of antisemitic behavior, the poll found 74 percent of respondents considering it a “serious” issue. Interestingly, a higher percentage of Democrats (82 percent) labelled the issue “serious” than Republicans (76 percent) and independents (66 percent). Conducted online and involving 1,400 adults, the poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.7 percentage points.
