Former British Home Secretary Suella Braverman has launched a furious attack on Rishi Sunak after he unceremoniously ousted her on Monday, telling the Prime Minister he has failed to live up to many of the promises he made to the electorate over issues such as illegal migration, Brexit, and protecting biological sex in schools and stating, “You have no personal mandate to be Prime Minister.”
Braverman, a favorite among Conservative grassroots supporters, told Sunak in a letter on Tuesday that her best efforts to fulfil the promises he made when entering government last year, her efforts were “often met with equivocation, disregard, and a lack of respect.”
“You have manifestly and repeatedly failed to deliver on every single one of these key policies. Either your distinctive style of government means you are incapable of doing so. Or, as I must surely conclude now, you never had any intention of keeping your promises,” she explains.
“Someone needs to be honest: your plan is not working, we have endured record election defeats, your resets have failed and we are running out of time. You need to change course urgently,” she continues.
Braverman was removed from office after highlighting the British police’s unwillingness to treat protestors equally, giving anti-Israel and Black Lives Matter supports free rein yet arbitrarily clamping down on those protesting lockdown measures and protecting statues. Her remarks caused a furore in the British press over the weekend.
