EXC – Trump to Tell Georgia Rally: ‘Laken Riley Would Be Alive Without Biden’s Open Border.’

President Donald J. Trump will savage Joe Biden over his immigration record this evening at a rally in Rome, Georgia, The National Pulse can reveal. The 45th President will also meet with the late Laken Riley’s parents ahead of the event.

“Two nights ago, we all heard Crooked Joe’s angry, dark, hate-filled rant of a State of the Union Address,” Trump is expected to say before going on to lambast the 46th President over his border policies, which are landing Americans dead.

“By far the most disgraceful part of Joe Biden’s divisive and angry speech was his horrendous gaslighting on the border invasion. Every day, Joe Biden is deliberately releasing gang members and military-aged men into our communities by the thousands—knowing full well that his policies will cost countless innocent lives,” Trump will say.

“One of those lives was a 22-year-old nursing student here in Georgia, Laken Riley. From the time she was in the first grade, Laken’s dream was to spend her life caring for others. She was the brightest light in every room—and she was the whole world to her parents and her sister. Then, the unthinkable happened. 16 days ago, Laken went out for a morning jog, and never came back. An illegal alien criminal who Joe Biden intentionally released into our country has been arrested and charged for her savage murder.

“Joe Biden has no remorse, no regret, no empathy, no compassion, and worst of all, he has no intention of stopping the deadly invasion that stole precious Laken’s beautiful American life.

“Laken Riley would be alive today if Joe Biden had not willfully and maliciously eviscerated the borders of the United States and set loose thousands of dangerous criminals into our country.”

Trump will also use the event to endorse one of his loyal staff members who is now running for Congress.

“We are delighted to be joined today by an outstanding American patriot who just announced that he is running for Congress in Georgia’s 3rd Congressional District, a proud Georgian, Fayette County native, and loyal friend, Brian Jack.

“Brian has been at my side since the 2016 campaign. He is tough, he is smart, he is conservative, he is a fighter, and he is totally MAGA. Brian served as my White House Political Director during the Trump administration, he helped us pass massive tax cuts, secure our border, and confirm hundreds of conservative judges. Now, he is going to be an incredible Republican member of Congress fighting for the great state of Georgia. Brian Jack has my complete and total endorsement.”

WATCH: NYC’s Zohran Mamdani Confirms He Wants Legal Prostitution.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Democratic New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani endorsed decriminalizing prostitution in a televised interview.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Zohran Mamdani, prostitutes, pimps, and New York City residents.

📍WHEN & WHERE: September 2025, during a Good Day New York interview.

💬KEY QUOTE: “Yes,” Mamdani confirmed his support for decriminalizing prostitution.

🎯IMPACT: Mamdani’s stance highlights his extreme soft-on-crime stance, which also includes previously expressing support for abolishing prisons and defunding the police.

IN FULL

Zohran Mamdani, the Democratic candidate for New York City mayor, reiterated his support for decriminalizing prostitution in America’s most populous city. The Twelver Muslim, a member of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), was confronted on the DSA’s support for legal prostitution and his own co-sponsorship of a legal prostitution bill in the New York State Assembly in a Good Day New York interview, with the hostess telling him, “A lot of people are concerned, especially if you go to Queens, Roosevelt Avenue, the people who live and work around there, who have to walk their kids past there, are very concerned. Young kids are being prostituted there. People are concerned where you stand on that; where do you divorce yourself from the Democratic Socialists of America?”

Mamdani said his platform is separate from the Democratic Socialists’ platform, but, when pressed, admitted that “Yes,” he does support decriminalizing prostitution. “What we have to bring to City Hall is a focus on ending sex trafficking; on ensuring that there is no tolerance for violence against women, and also having safety at the cornerstone of all the policies that we pursue.”

He claimed the “World Health Organizations” [sic] and a United Nations working group both found that decriminalizing prostitution provides the most “safety” for prostitutes.

Mamdani subscribes to a range of far-left, soft-on-crime policies, including the abolition of prisons, or “decarceration,” and defunding the police—although he has begun downplaying his past, vociferous support for these causes as he attempts to win the support of regular voters.

He also plans to spend an additional $100 million on legal aid for migrants to fight deportation.

Federal Judge Rules Against Trump on Deporting Extremist Foreign Students.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: A federal judge ruled against the Trump administration’s policy of deporting extremist foreign students, citing the First Amendment.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: U.S. District Court Judge William Young, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, and foreign student activists.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.

💬KEY QUOTE: “The Constitution, our civil laws, regulations, mores, customs, practices, courtesies, all of it; the President simply ignores it all when he takes it into his head to act.” – Judge William Young

🎯IMPACT: The ruling disrupts the Trump administration’s efforts to deport foreign students who express anti-Semitic or pro-terrorist views.

IN FULL

A federal judge in Massachusetts ruled Tuesday that the Trump administration violated the First Amendment by targeting foreign students for their anti-Israel activism. U.S. District Court Judge William Young, a Ronald Reagan appointee, found that the administration’s actions amounted to unconstitutional suppression of free speech. “Foreign students are entitled to the same free speech protections as U.S. citizens,” Young insisted in his decision.

The case, brought by organizations including the American Association of University Professors and the Middle East Studies Association, challenged what plaintiffs called an “ideological deportation” policy. That policy allegedly relied on information from Canary Mission, a website that tracks people it accuses of holding anti-Israel or anti-Semitic views. Judge Young criticized the administration for using such data, alleging it sought to “chill the rights to freedom of speech and peacefully to assemble.”

Young specifically named Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem as having coordinated deportation efforts. The judge also took aim at President Donald J. Trump, railing, “The President’s palpable misunderstanding that the government simply cannot seek retribution for speech he disdains poses a great threat to Americans’ freedom of speech.”

The decision comes amid a wider crackdown by the Trump administration on rising anti-Semitism on college campuses. In early 2025, Trump signed an executive order expanding federal oversight of anti-Semitic incidents in higher education and directed agencies to scrutinize the behavior of foreign students and staff. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) also began reviewing the social media of student visa applicants for content deemed supportive of terrorism or anti-Semitism.

The administration further paused student visa interviews and suspended $500 million in federal funds to Brown University over allegations of campus anti-Semitism. Multiple universities, including Ivy League schools, are under federal investigation for possible violations of civil rights laws related to anti-Semitic harassment.

TSA Confirms Biden Placed Mask Mandate Opponents, J6 Protesters on No-Fly List.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: The former Biden regime placed some Americans who resisted the COVID-19 mask mandate or were allegedly involved in the January 6, 2021, protests in Washington, D.C., on prolonged Transportation Security Administration (TSA) watchlists, including no-fly lists typically reserved for suspected terrorists.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: The TSA, Biden regime officials, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, and people allegedly connected to mask mandate resistance or Capitol protests.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The initiative, “Operation Freedom to Breathe,” began in September 2021 and involved nationwide TSA watchlists, including no-fly lists.

💬KEY QUOTE: “Biden’s TSA Administrator [David] Pekoske and his cronies abused their authority and weaponized the federal government against the very people they were charged with protecting.” – Kristi Noem

🎯IMPACT: Sources at TSA say this is the most expansive use of no-fly lists targeting U.S. citizens in history, raising alarms about government overreach and political targeting.

IN FULL

Internal documents reveal that the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) placed Americans who resisted COVID-19 mask mandates or were allegedly involved in the January 6, 2021, Capitol protests on federal watchlists, including the no-fly list typically reserved for suspected terrorists.

The former Biden regime launched the ironically named “Operation Freedom to Breathe” in September 2021, targeting 19 people for defying federal mask requirements. More than half were placed on the no-fly list and barred from commercial air travel, despite not being charged with any crime.

Some remained on the list until the national mask mandate ended in April 2022. Internal concerns were raised by TSA intelligence officials and the agency’s Chief Privacy Officer, who warned that the actions appeared unrelated to transportation security and instead punished political expression. Emails revealed that TSA relied on academic databases and social media profiles, rather than intelligence from agencies like the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), to make listing decisions. Inaccurate information led to mistakes, including the wrongful inclusion of a National Guardsman and an air marshal’s wife.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem strongly criticized the Biden regime’s actions. “Biden’s TSA Administrator [David] Pekoske and his cronies abused their authority and weaponized the federal government against the very people they were charged with protecting,” she said. “President Trump promised to end the weaponization of government against the American people, and we are making good on that promise.”

Noem added that the case would be referred to the Department of Justice and Congress for investigation.

Around 280 people with alleged ties to the Capitol protests were also placed on TSA watchlists, with at least five added to the no-fly list. TSA sources reportedly described the operation as the most expansive use of federal travel restrictions against U.S. citizens in the agency’s history.

Separately, Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard has claimed she was placed on the TSA’s “Quiet Skies” watchlist, a surveillance program originally meant to track individuals deemed to pose elevated aviation risks. Gabbard believes the listing was political retaliation after she criticized former Vice President Kamala Harris.

In 2021, some Democrats also pushed legislation to restrict unvaccinated individuals from flying. Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-NY) introduced a bill requiring all domestic flight passengers to be fully vaccinated.

Canada Revises U.S. Travel Advisory Over LGBT Passport Rules.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Canada updated its travel advice for citizens visiting the U.S., citing increased scrutiny and providing warnings for LGBT individuals regarding gender identity documentation.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Canada’s Liberal Party government, U.S. federal authorities, and Canadian travelers.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The advisory update follows U.S. policy changes, including a 2025 executive order by President Donald J. Trump.

💬KEY QUOTE: “Federal systems in the U.S. are changing to no longer accept markers of gender identity. Sex assigned at birth may now be requested by federal forms and processes.” – Government of Canada advisory

🎯IMPACT: Canadian travelers are advised to review documentation and ensure compliance with U.S. entry requirements to avoid complications.

IN FULL

Canada has updated its travel advisory for citizens visiting the United States, warning of heightened scrutiny for LGBT travelers and offering expanded guidance related to gender identity documentation. The advisory comes in response to recent U.S. federal policy changes that limit recognition of nonbinary gender markers and increase immigration enforcement.

In January 2025, President Donald J. Trump issued an executive order restricting passports to only “male” or “female” gender designations, eliminating the nonbinary “X” option. While a Massachusetts federal judge temporarily blocked enforcement of the order in June after a lawsuit filed by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), the legal challenge remains ongoing. Canada’s advisory warns that until the matter is resolved, travelers with nonbinary or non-conforming documentation could face increased scrutiny or even risk losing visa or permanent residency status due to tightened enforcement.

Typically, Canadian citizens may visit the U.S. for up to six months without a visa. However, those who require a visa should be aware that U.S. authorities may periodically reassess their eligibility, particularly in cases involving past criminal convictions. The advisory also notes that permanent residents of the United States, including Canadians, could see their residency revoked if found in violation of updated rules, including spending too much time outside the country.

The Canadian government expressed concern for LGBT travelers, especially those with passports that display an “X” gender marker. While Canada allows this designation for citizens who do not identify as male or female, it may not be recognized in countries like the U.S. The advisory states: “Federal systems in the U.S. are changing to no longer accept markers of gender identity. Sex assigned at birth may now be requested by federal forms and processes.”

The warning comes during a tense period in Canada–U.S. relations, as migration across their shared border has drawn increased attention. According to recent reports, thousands of migrants have entered Canada through the Saint-Bernard-de-Lacolle crossing in Quebec, many fleeing U.S. immigration enforcement. Canadian border officials reported a 263 percent increase in asylum claims at that crossing over the summer.

Meanwhile, some Jewish Canadians have reportedly begun moving to the U.S. and Israel, citing rising anti-Semitism in Canada. Former ambassador Vivian Bercovici told media that “Toronto and Montreal seem to have become the standouts in the Western world” for anti-Semitic incidents, describing the situation as “shocking.”

Great Lakes Closed to Millions Amid Dangerous Waves and Currents.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: The National Weather Service (NWS) issued beach hazards statements for the Great Lakes region, warning of life-threatening waves and currents through Wednesday evening.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: The National Weather Service, local authorities, and residents and visitors in affected areas.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Warnings are in effect through Wednesday evening for areas around Lake Superior, Lake Huron, Lake Erie, and Lake Ontario, spanning multiple states including Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and New York.

💬KEY QUOTE: “Swimmers should not enter the water. Currents can carry swimmers away from shore through a sand bar and along structures extending out into the lake.” – NWS Cleveland

🎯IMPACT: Millions of residents and visitors are advised to avoid swimming and lakefront activities due to hazardous conditions, with warnings expected to be re-evaluated regularly.

IN FULL

Millions of residents and tourists along the Great Lakes are being warned to stay out of the water this week due to dangerous conditions. According to the National Weather Service (NWS), which issued beach hazards statements across the Great Lakes region, beachgoers face life-threatening waves and strong currents.

This marks the final beach hazards statement of the season, according to NWS meteorologist Jim Sullivan, who noted, “The beaches usually close in October and the lake isn’t as warm.”

The Great Lakes, a popular summer destination, draw millions annually. Persistent high winds and wave action have created hazardous swimming conditions, posing risks even to experienced swimmers. Recent years have seen numerous drownings in the region, underscoring the importance of adhering to official warnings. Affected areas include lakeshore regions in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and New York, covering Lake Superior, Lake Huron, Lake Erie, and Lake Ontario.

According to NWS statements, waves may reach up to six feet, with strong rip and longshore currents increasing the risk of swimmers being pulled away from shore or swept off piers. An NWS Cleveland statement cautioned: “Wind and wave action will cause currents on the lakeshore. Swimmers should not enter the water. Currents can carry swimmers away from shore through a sand bar and along structures extending out into the lake.” Similarly, the NWS Buffalo office warned of “strong currents and dangerous swimming conditions.”

Jim Sullivan explained that winds as low as 20 mph can cause Lake Erie waves to reach four feet, which is considered high-risk for swimmers. The NWS has urged residents and tourists to stay out of the water during the hazards period, emphasizing that even skilled swimmers are vulnerable. Local authorities may have also posted signs or closed access to certain beaches.

The NWS advises avoiding swimming, piers, and shoreline structures during this time. Similar conditions are reported along the East Coast and in California. An NWS Duluth statement noted: “High wave action can make swimming difficult on days such as this. Incoming waves in rapid succession can tire even an experienced swimmer quickly.” Officials recommend staying informed through local NWS channels, with advisories to be re-evaluated as conditions evolve.

Florida Approves Trump Presidential Library Next to Miami’s Freedom Tower.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: President Donald J. Trump’s presidential library has been approved for construction next to Miami’s historic Freedom Tower after a vote by state leaders.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R), Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier (R), Miami Dade College’s board, and Eric Trump.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The decision was finalized on September 30, 2025, during a Florida Cabinet meeting. The library will be located in downtown Miami near Freedom Tower.

💬KEY QUOTE: “Having the Trump Presidential Library in Miami will be good for Florida, for the city, and for Miami Dade College.” – Ron DeSantis

🎯IMPACT: The library is expected to become a major cultural and historical site, though it has sparked complaints among some leftist residents and students.

IN FULL

State leaders in Florida have approved plans to construct the Donald J. Trump Presidential Library next to Miami’s historic Freedom Tower. Governor Ron DeSantis (R) announced the decision on Tuesday, following a unanimous vote by the Florida Cabinet. The approval came after Miami Dade College’s board unanimously agreed to transfer a 2.6-acre parking lot to the state, paving the way for the project.

Governor DeSantis, who championed the initiative, stated, “Having the Trump Presidential Library in Miami will be good for Florida, for the city, and for Miami Dade College.” He added that the “Free State of Florida” has consistently supported President Donald J. Trump’s agenda and expressed pride in spearheading the effort to house the library in Trump’s adopted home state.

Eric Trump, the America First leader’s son, praised the decision, promising the library would be an “an Icon on the Miami skyline” and “one of the most beautiful buildings ever built,” in contrast with the brutal design of former President Barack Obama‘s library in Chicago.

Some leftist residents and college students in Miami Dade have complained, with protests occurring outside Freedom Tower. Dr. Martin Dunn, a retired professor and historian, argued that the Freedom Tower’s symbolic importance as a processing center for Cuban refugees would be diminished by the library’s proximity. “That building should stand forever as a recognition of Cuban Americans being able to come to this country in freedom,” he said.

Regardless, the Donald J. Trump Presidential Library Foundation has five years to move forward with the project, which supporters believe will become a significant cultural and historical landmark in Miami.

Ukrainian Arrested for Nord Stream Pipeline Sabotage.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: A Ukrainian has been detained in Poland over the 2022 Nord Stream pipeline explosions.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: The suspect, identified as Volodymyr Z., was detained following a European Arrest Warrant (EAW) issued by a German court. His Polish lawyer, Tymoteusz Paprocki, has commented on the case.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The detention occurred in Poland on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, following the 2022 explosions that damaged the Nord Stream pipelines in the Baltic Sea.

💬KEY QUOTE: “The defense currently does not see any possibility of bringing charges against anyone who participated in these activities.” – Tymoteusz Paprocki

🎯IMPACT: The explosions severely damaged energy supply supplies to the European Union (EU), forcing the bloc to seek alternative, more expensive sources.

IN FULL

Poland has detained a Ukrainian man, identified as Volodymyr Z., over alleged involvement in the 2022 Nord Stream pipeline explosions. The arrest followed a European Arrest Warrant (EAW) issued by a German court, as reported by The National Pulse in August last year.

Volodymyr, reportedly a diving instructor, was detained on Tuesday. His Polish lawyer, Tymoteusz Paprocki, insisted that there were no grounds to extradite his client to Germany. Paprocki added, “In general, considering the full-scale war in Ukraine and the fact that Nord Stream is owned by the Russian company Gazprom, which finances these activities, the defence currently does not see any possibility of bringing charges against anyone who participated in these activities.”

The September 2022 explosions largely destroyed the undersea pipelines designed to deliver gas to the European Union (EU) direct from Russia, rather than via Ukraine. Their destruction, which Western governments nonsensically blamed on Russia at first, forced EU governments to seek alternative, more expensive energy sources.

In August 2025, Italian authorities arrested another Ukrainian man, identified as Serhii K., who was suspected of coordinating attacks on the pipelines. German prosecutors alleged that Serhii and a group planted explosive devices near the Danish island of Bornholm, departing from Rostock, Germany, in a sailing yacht. He faced charges of collusion to cause an explosion, anti-constitutional sabotage, and destruction of critical infrastructure.

The explosions caused an estimated 800 million cubic metres of gas to escape. The pipelines were designed to deliver up to 110 billion cubic metres of gas annually to Germany.

Denmark and Sweden concluded the explosions were acts of sabotage but closed their investigations in February without identifying suspects.

DATA: Two-Thirds of Voters Oppose Democrat Government Shutdown.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: A New York Times/Siena poll reveals that nearly two-thirds of American voters oppose Democrats forcing a government shutdown over their spending demands.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Congressional Democrats, Republicans, President Donald J. Trump, and American voters.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The poll was conducted from September 22–27, with the government shutdown deadline looming at midnight Tuesday.

💬KEY QUOTE: “People that are smart see what’s happening. The Democrats are deranged,” said President Trump.

🎯IMPACT: The poll shows deep partisan divides, with Americans largely opposing a shutdown, and only a plurality of Democrats supporting the effort.

IN FULL

New data shows that nearly two-thirds of American voters oppose congressional Democrats’ efforts to force a government shutdown. Democrat leaders in the House and Senate have opposed Republican efforts to pass a “clean” short-term continuing resolution to avoid the funding lapse and buy time for lawmakers to finish appropriations for the coming year, instead issuing a list of radical demands—including healthcare for illegal immigrants—in exchange for their votes.

The survey, conducted by The New York Times/Siena, found 65 percent of voters believe Democrats should not shut down the government even if their demands are not met, while 27 percent disagree. Even among Democratic voters, only a plurality of 47 percent support the shutdown effort, compared to 43 percent who oppose it.

Congressional Democrats fare badly among Independent voters, with only 32 percent supporting a government shutdown. Just five percent of Republicans say they back Democrat efforts on Capitol Hill.

Notably, the data shows Democrats do not carry the blame for a shutdown alone. Voters also expressed ire with congressional Republicans and President Donald J. Trump. Bizarrely, Independent voters are twice as likely to blame Trump and Republicans as they are to blame Democrats if a shutdown occurs.

The standoff revolves around a disagreement over a short-term spending plan. Democrats are demanding an extension of Obamacare tax credits, which are set to expire at the end of the year. Millions of Americans rely on these credits to lower healthcare costs. Republicans, however, argue that extending the credits would lead to increased taxpayer-funded healthcare for illegal immigrants.

President Trump, speaking Tuesday morning, warned that “a lot” of federal workers may be fired if the government shuts down, adding: “People that are smart see what’s happening. The Democrats are deranged.”

The poll puts Trump’s overall approval rating at 43 percent. Among Republican voters, he maintains very strong support, with roughly 90 percent approving of his performance.

ADL Still Defending Antifa While Branding TPUSA ‘Extremist’ After Charlie Kirk’s Assassination.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) is continuing to label Turning Point USA (TPUSA) as an organization of “Extremism, Hate or Terrorism” following the assassination of its founder, Charlie Kirk, while defending the Antifa movement, recently designated as a terrorist organization.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Charlie Kirk, TPUSA, the ADL, and Antifa.

📍WHEN & WHERE: September 2025, following Kirk’s assassination.

💬KEY QUOTE: “TPUSA was connected to many controversial incidents including problematic comments by TPUSA spokespeople or activists.” – ADL Glossary

🎯IMPACT: The ADL’s partisan actions have sparked calls for federal action against the organization, including the removal of its tax-exempt status.

IN FULL

Turning Point USA (TPUSA) founder Charlie Kirk’s assassination on September 10, 2025, allegedly by radical leftist Tyler Robinson, while engaging students in debate on Utah Valley University’s campus, has not moved the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) to remove his organization from its list of “Extremism, Hate or Terrorism” groups. However, it continues to defend the Antifa movement, which President Donald J. Trump has designated as a terrorist organization, and insists it is generally not violent.

In its glossary entry for TPUSA, labelled under ‘Extremism, Hate or Terrorism,’ the ADL smears the conservative youth organization as promoting “conspiracy theories related to topics such as election fraud and COVID-19,” and alleges individual associated with it “have a history of bigoted statements about the Black community, the LGBTQ community and specifically transgender people, and other minority groups.”

The ADL also says that “white nationalists openly have attended their events” and that “extremists and far-right conspiracy theorists have been featured at the AmericaFest conference and other TPUSA events,” despite a mealy-mouthed disclaimer that “Kirk himself publicly condemned such groups.”

Meanwhile, it claims the Antifa organization is merely a “decentralized, leaderless movement composed of loose collections of groups, networks and individuals,” insisting: “While some extreme actors who claim to be affiliated with antifa do engage in violence or vandalism at rallies and events, this is not the norm.”

“Persistent disinformation campaigns about antifa distort public perception of the movement,” it complains.

The ADL’s obstinate, partisan stance in the wake of Kirk’s assassination has caused conservatives to call for action against it, with Kenny Cody of Human Events writing, “Out in the open, the Anti-Defamation League is labeling conservative activism amongst the youth as extremist, and now the ADL has blood on its hands… Whether it be through congressional action or emanating from the top of the executive branch, the ADL should lose its tax-exempt status and any federal funding to which the group has access.”

More Lawfare: Federal Judge Blocks Hundreds of Trump Firings.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: A federal judge has temporarily suspended the Trump administration’s plan to cut jobs at the U.S. Agency for Global Media (USAGM), halting the elimination of 532 positions.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth, acting USAGM CEO Kari Lake, Voice of America employees, and Department of Justice (DOJ) lawyers.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The ruling was issued late Monday in Washington, D.C., and the cuts were set to take effect Tuesday.

💬KEY QUOTE: “A wholly overbroad and improper remedy.” — DOJ attorneys

🎯IMPACT: The ruling delays the reduction in force and maintains operations at the U.S. Agency for Global Media while legal challenges are addressed.

IN FULL

U.S. District Court Judge Royce Lamberth has temporarily blocked the Trump administration’s plan to cut 532 jobs at the U.S. Agency for Global Media (USAGM), which oversees Voice of America (VOA). The cuts, which were scheduled to take effect Tuesday, represent the majority of the agency’s remaining full-time staff.

Judge Lamberth, a Ronald Reagan appointee, issued the ruling late Monday to preserve the status quo while the court considers a motion from plaintiffs to block the reduction in force. Acting CEO Kari Lake had announced the job cuts last month.

Previously, Lamberth ordered the Trump administration to restore VOA’s programming to meet its statutory mandate to provide reliable news. He also blocked Lake from removing VOA Director Michael Abramowitz and criticized the administration for showing “concerning disrespect” toward the court’s earlier orders.

VOA employees sued to stop the agency’s dismantling, arguing that the planned reductions would undermine the court’s ability to enforce its injunction. “This Court should therefore preserve the status quo while the parties litigate compliance,” their attorneys stated. Meanwhile, Department of Justice (DOJ) lawyers argued that halting the cuts would improperly interfere with the agency’s operations, calling it “a wholly overbroad and improper remedy.”
