Here Are the 65 Congressmen Who Voted to Protect the Chinese Communist Party’s Influence in America.

Rep. Mike Gallagher’s (R-WI) legislation, which would force the Chinese-owned technology and entertainment conglomerate ByteDance to divest itself from TikTok or else face a U.S. government ban on the social media app, sailed through the House of Representatives earlier today.

The legislation passed 352 to 65 on a suspension vote (requiring two-thirds of the House). However, 65 members voted against the measure, caving to a massive influence operation backed by the Chinese-controlled ByteDance, the Club for Growth, billionaire and GOP mega-donor Jeff Yass, and tens of thousands of TikTok users.

Trump Appeals Bogus ‘Hush Money’ Conviction.

PULSE POINTS:

What Happened: President Donald J. Trump’s attorneys are appealing his conviction in a so-called hush money case in New York, seeking to move it to federal court following last year’s U.S. Supreme Court ruling on presidential immunity.

👥 Who’s Involved: President Trump, Manhattan District Attorney (DA) Alvin Bragg, the U.S. Supreme Court, and a three-judge panel from the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

📍 Where & When: New York, with oral arguments occurring on Wednesday, June 11, 2025.

💬 Key Quote: “President Trump had good cause to pursue a post-trial removal for a simple reason: he could not have raised any of the arguments set forth herein until well after his trial began,” Trump’s attorneys stated.

⚠️ Impact: A successful appeal could overturn Trump’s conviction and potentially set new precedents for cases involving presidential immunity.

IN FULL:

President Donald J. Trump’s legal team is set to present arguments on Monday in an effort to move his state-level “hush money” conviction for supposedly falsifying business records to federal court. The appeal comes after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled last July that presidents are immune from federal prosecution for certain official acts, although not for unofficial acts.

Trump’s attorneys argue that his conviction stems from actions tied to his official duties as President, making the case eligible for federal jurisdiction. The America First leader was convicted last year on 34 counts related to a 2016 payment made by his then-lawyer, Michael Cohen, to adult film actress Stormy Daniels. Trump has consistently denied any wrongdoing, asserting the case is politically motivated.

In January, just days before his inauguration, Trump received an unconditional discharge in the case brought by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. The sentence included no jail time, probation, or fines, but Trump remains a convicted felon under state law and cannot pardon himself in the matter.

Trump’s legal team is now leveraging the Supreme Court’s July decision to argue for a post-trial removal of the case to federal court. They claim the ruling provides “good cause” for the renewed appeal, as the decision was issued after Trump’s conviction in May. “President Trump had good cause to pursue a post-trial removal for a simple reason: he could not have raised any of the arguments set forth herein until well after his trial began,” his attorneys wrote in court filings.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) filed an amicus brief earlier this year in support of Trump’s effort, but Bragg’s office opposes the move. Prosecutors argue that the Supreme Court ruling does not apply in this case, accusing Trump of showing a “lack of diligence” by waiting two months after the decision to renew his efforts. They also contend that the unconditional discharge makes the appeal moot.

A ruling in Trump’s favor could overturn his conviction and reshape the legal landscape surrounding presidential immunity claims.

NYPD Detains 80 Pro-Illegal Immigrant Agitators.

PULSE POINTS:

What Happened: A large pro-illegal immigrant protest in Lower Manhattan descended into chaos, with agitators clashing with police and over 80 arrests reported.

👥 Who’s Involved: Protesters, New York City Police Department (NYPD), Brooklyn Councilwoman Shahana Hanif, Public Advocate Jumaane Williams.

📍 Where & When: Lower Manhattan, New York City, Tuesday evening, near City Hall, Foley Square, and 26 Federal Plaza.

💬 Key Quote: “Brick by brick, wall by wall, this racist system has got to fall!” – Protester chant.

⚠️ Impact: The NYPD enacted a citywide level three mobilization; over 80 arrests; tensions mirrored in other cities, including Los Angeles, Chicago, and Seattle.

IN FULL:

Lower Manhattan erupted into chaos Tuesday evening as a pro-illegal immigrant protest turned violent, leading to clashes between demonstrators and police near City Hall, Foley Square, and 26 Federal Plaza. The protest, initially planned as a rally against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations, mirroring the violent demonstrations against immigration raids in Los Angeles, California, spiraled into disorder, prompting the New York City Police Department (NYPD) to enact a citywide level three mobilization.

Thousands of protesters filled the streets, chanting slogans such as “Brick by brick, wall by wall, this racist system has got to fall!” and “How do you spell racist? ICE!” Video footage shows agitators hurling objects, including metal barricades, at officers. Rioters also attempted to block federal vehicles suspected of transporting detainees, while pepper spray was deployed as police worked to regain control.

Over 80 arrests were made for disorderly conduct and related offenses, with law enforcement expecting the number to grow as reports are processed. Tensions escalated further as masked demonstrators repeatedly tried to breach police barricades, with some shouting obscenities and threats at officers.

Brooklyn Councilwoman Shahana Hanif and Public Advocate Jumaane Williams riled up the mob during the protest, sharply criticizing Mayor Eric Adams and federal immigration policies. Hanif accused Adams of “collaborating with Trump” and enabling ICE operations in the city, while Williams claimed the NYPD was allowing ICE to “kidnap” illegal aliens.

An NYPD source described the unrest as “coordinated and volatile,” noting that many protesters appeared prepared for confrontation. Clashes continued late into the night, with additional arrests reported outside City Hall and the federal courthouse.

The unrest in New York is part of a broader wave of anti-ICE demonstrations taking place in Democrat-controlled cities across the United States. Similar protests have been reported in Chicago, San Francisco, and Seattle. In Los Angeles County, pro-illegal immigrant riots have entered their fifth night, leading to citywide curfews and President Donald J. Trump deploying the National Guard and U.S. Marines, to the irritation of Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom.

BREAKING: U.S. Evacuating Non-Essential Personnel Across Middle East — Reports.

PULSE POINTS:

What Happened: Multiple voluntary evacuation authorizations have been approved for U.S. diplomatic and military facilities throughout the Middle East. The notices come amid increasing speculation that Israel may be poised to launch a military strike against Iran’s nuclear facilities.

👥 Who’s Involved: The United States, Israel, Iran, Bahrain, Kuwait, and the United Kingdom.

📍 Where & When: The voluntary evacuation advisories were issued on Wednesday, June 11, 2025.

⚠️ Impact: While the move could be simply precautionary, tension in the region has increased in recent weeks, with mounting expectations that Israel will soon move to destroy alleged Iranian nuclear weapons sites.

IN FULL:

The United States government is authorizing the evacuation of all non-essential embassy personnel and dependents of U.S. military service members across the Middle East, amid heightened tensions with the Islamic Republic of Iran. While the exact reason for the evacuations is currently unclear, the Iranian government has stated it will strike U.S. and allied military assets across the region if they are attacked. This has led to rampant speculation that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may be on the precipice of approving a military strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

Rumors of potential military action were sparked early Wednesday by an advisory from the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operation (UKMTO) office. The advisory stated that vessels were to use caution when transiting the Straits of Hormuz, Gulf of Oman, and Arabian Gulf. The UKMTO office warned that increasing military tensions in the region justified the advisory.

This announcement was followed by a notice preparing for the evacuation of non-essential U.S. embassy personnel in Baghdad, Iraq, early Wednesday afternoon. Several hours later, advisories authorizing the evacuation of non-essential embassy personnel in Kuwait and Bahrain were also issued. Additionally, the U.S. naval base in Bahrain announced that dependents of U.S. military service members could evacuate the region as well.

Subsequently, the Associated Press (AP) reported that the voluntary evacuation authorization has been extended to dependents of U.S. military service members across the entire Middle East.

Almost 200 Pro-Illegal Immigrant Agitators Arrested in Downtown LA.

PULSE POINTS:

What Happened: Nearly 200 arrests were made by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) amid violent protests and a newly imposed curfew.

👥 Who’s Involved: Mayor Karen Bass (D), LAPD, LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell, California National Guard, President Donald J. Trump, and pro-illegal immigrant rioters.

📍 Where & When: Downtown Los Angeles; curfew in effect from 8 PM to 6 AM, with arrests occurring Tuesday night.

💬 Key Quote: LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell: “If you are in the curfew zone during the restricted hours without a legal exemption, you will be arrested. If you assault an officer in any fashion, you will be arrested.”

⚠️ Impact: 197 arrests, deployment of National Guard troops, significant property damage, and tightened security measures in preparation for the World Cup.

IN FULL:

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) arrested 197 individuals Tuesday night after declaring an unlawful assembly in downtown Los Angeles, following days of escalating disorderly protests and rioting. The arrests occurred after multiple dispersal orders were issued, which many demonstrators ignored, according to the LAPD.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass (D) announced a curfew covering a one-square-mile area of downtown Los Angeles, effective from 8 PM to 6 AM. Exceptions include residents, those traveling to or from work, and credentialed members of the press. The curfew is expected to remain in place for several days.

Bass attributed the unrest to “bad actors who are taking advantage of the President’s chaotic escalation,” in a statement posted on X. California Democrats regard President Donald J. Trump’s attempts to enforce federal immigration law against illegal aliens in the state as provocative.

Bass urged non-residents to avoid the area and warned that violators of the curfew would face arrest and prosecution. Bass also highlighted concerns over the city’s readiness for the World Cup, citing extensive graffiti and damage to businesses.

LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell confirmed that 130 arrests were made near Commercial Street and Alameda, with an additional 67 arrests after demonstrators blocked the 101 Freeway. Charges ranged from failure to disperse and looting to an attempted murder involving a Molotov cocktail.

“Let me be clear that this behavior of blocking freeways, city streets, and on-ramps, refusing to comply with lawful dispersal orders, and interfering with public safety operations is dangerous… and won’t be tolerated,” McDonnell stated.

The protests and riots have resulted in widespread property damage, including the destruction of 23 businesses and the torching of multiple vehicles. In response, President Trump has deployed approximately 2,100 California National Guard troops to Los Angeles, Paramount, and Compton. The America First leader has also ordered 700 U.S. Marines to help the National Guard protect federal property and personnel.

WATCH: Mexican Senate Prez Alludes to ‘Reconquista’ of Southwest U.S.

PULSE POINTS:

What Happened: Mexico’s Senate President Gerardo Fernández Noroña made reference to the idea of the ‘reconquista’ of territories the country lost after the Mexican-American War while insisting Mexican illegal immigrants in the U.S. have an ancestral right to reside in the southwestern United States.

👥 Who’s Involved: Mexican Senate President Gerardo Fernández Noroña, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum, U.S. President Donald J. Trump, and Mexican illegal immigrants.

📍 Where & When: Fernández Noroña’s comments were made on Monday, June 9, 2025.

💬 Key Quote: “We’ll build the wall and pay for it. But we’ll do it according to the 1830 map of Mexico. Mexicans were settled in these territories before the U.S. The Mexicans living there are in what has always been their homeland,” Fernández Noroña said, recalling an alleged 2017 conversation with President Trump.

⚠️ Impact: Fernández Noroña’s comments come amid heightened diplomatic tensions between the United States and Mexico over President Trump’s imposition of trade tariffs and his administration’s efforts to remove dangerous and criminal illegal immigrants, including Mexicans, from the U.S.

IN FULL:

One of Mexico’s top political leaders has alluded to his country retaking territories ceded to the United States over 175 years ago while making remarks condemning President Donald J. Trump‘s efforts to remove dangerous and criminal illegal immigrants from the United States. Gerardo Fernández Noroña, the president of Mexico’s Senate, during a press conference on Monday, insisted that illegal Mexican immigrants residing in the southwestern United States have an ancestral right to be there.

“Names don’t lie. The most spoken language in Los Angeles is Spanish,” Fernández Noroña, an avowed socialist, said. He continued: “The United States government has the right to implement whatever immigration measures it deems appropriate, certainly, but they have no right to violate the dignity of immigrants. They have no right to separate families.”

During the press event, Fernández Noroña—a close political ally of Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum—produced a map of the North American continent with the borders of the United States and Mexico redrawn to reflect the two countries’ territories at their extent in 1830. “We’ll build the wall and pay for it. But we’ll do it according to the 1830 map of Mexico,” the Mexican Senate leader said, recalling a 2017 conversation he allegedly had with President Trump.

“Mexicans were settled in these territories before the U.S. The Mexicans living there are in what has always been their homeland.”

The comments appear to allude to the wistful goal of some Mexican political figures to engage in a ‘Reconquista’ of their lost territories. Following the Mexican-American War’s conclusion in 1848, the United States annexed a large portion of what is today the southwestern U.S. and California.

Despite Mexico’s assertion that the land was taken from them, it was Mexican caudillo Antonio López de Santa Anna who started the conflict after violating the Treaties of Velasco and attacking American troops along the Rio Grande.

Trump Tariffs Spur General Motors to Shift Production From Mexico, Commit $4 Billion to U.S.

PULSE POINTS:

What Happened: General Motors (GM) plans to invest $4 billion in U.S. plants over the next two years, while also shifting production of two vehicle lines away from Mexico in response to President Donald J. Trump’s tariff policies.

👥 Who’s Involved: GM and its U.S.-based manufacturing plants, GM Chairwoman and CEO Mary Barra, GM President Mark Reuss, U.S. President Donald J. Trump, and Mexico.

📍 Where & When: GM announced the investment and production shift on Tuesday, June 10, 2025.

💬 Key Quote: “We believe the future of transportation will be driven by American innovation and manufacturing expertise,” GM CEO and Chairwoman Mary Barra said in a statement.

⚠️ Impact: Increased U.S. vehicle production, thousands of new jobs, and a shift of manufacturing from Mexico to the U.S.

IN FULL:

General Motors (GM) has announced a $4 billion investment plan to expand its U.S. manufacturing operations over the next two years. The move comes in response to President Donald J. Trump’s tariff policies, including a 25 percent Section 232 tariff on autos.

“We believe the future of transportation will be driven by American innovation and manufacturing expertise,” GM CEO and Chairwoman Mary Barra said in a statement. Meanwhile, the company’s president, Mark Reuss, added: “Today’s news goes well beyond the investment numbers—this is about hardworking Americans making vehicles they are proud to build and that customers are proud to own.”

The investment is expected to increase GM’s annual vehicle production capacity to over two million units and create between 3,000 and 4,000 jobs. Notably, as part of the U.S. production plan, GM will shift its production of the gas-powered Chevy Blazer and Chevy Equinox to new U.S. facilities. Additionally, some full-size SUVs and light-duty pickups, such as the Silverado, will be moved to pre-existing Michigan-based plants. All of these vehicles are currently manufactured in Mexico.

While GM has framed this as a long-term strategy, it clarified that this investment is separate from its immediate efforts to mitigate the estimated $4 to $5 billion in tariff costs expected this year.

Inflation Continues to Cool, Proving Trump Tariff Critics Wrong.

PULSE POINTS:

What Happened: U.S. Consumer Price Index (CPI) data for May showed a modest increase, with headline and core inflation both below expectations.

👥 Who’s Involved: U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell, President Donald J. Trump, and market analysts.

📍 Where & When: United States, May 2025.

💬 Key Quote: “CPI JUST OUT. GREAT NUMBERS! FED SHOULD LOWER ONE FULL POINT. WOULD PAY MUCH LESS INTEREST ON DEBT COMING DUE. SO IMPORTANT!!!” President Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social.

⚠️ Impact: Despite corporate media and Wall Street fearmongering that President Trump’s tariffs would reignite inflation, prices have held steady with no evidence of a spike in inflationary pressure.

IN FULL:

The latest Consumer Price Index (CPI) report for May 2025 revealed a modest 0.1 percent month-over-month increase, falling short of analysts’ expectations of 0.2 percent. Year-over-year, headline CPI rose to 2.4 percent, up slightly from April’s 2.3 percent, according to data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Core CPI, which excludes volatile food and energy prices, also rose 0.1 percent month-over-month, maintaining a 2.8 percent annual increase—its lowest since March 2021. Predictions from Wall Street and corporate media pundits warning of significant inflationary pressures tied to tariffs have failed to materialize, as energy prices notably declined by 1.0 percent in May, driven by falling gasoline costs.

“CPI JUST OUT. GREAT NUMBERS! FED SHOULD LOWER ONE FULL POINT,” President Donald J. Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social on Wednesday. “WOULD PAY MUCH LESS INTEREST ON DEBT COMING DUE. SO IMPORTANT!!!”

The America First leader has repeatedly pushed Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell to lower interest rates, though the overly cautious central bank chief has been reluctant to do so. Concerningly, the Federal Reserve’s inaction regarding rates could result in the U.S. economy moving into a deflationary cycle, which would have significant negative impacts. Notably, the data shows deflationary signals when shelter costs are removed from the May CPI report.

Shelter costs, a significant component of the CPI, increased 0.3 percent in May, contributing to the overall rise. The index for rent rose by 0.2 percent, while owners’ equivalent rent also climbed 0.3 percent. However, the lodging away from home index fell slightly, by 0.1 percent.

Food prices rose by 0.3 percent over the month, impacting both the food at home and food away from home categories. Meanwhile, other categories such as medical care, motor vehicle insurance, and personal care saw modest increases. In contrast, airline fares dropped by 2.7 percent, continuing a decline from the previous month, and used car prices fell by 0.5 percent.

Union Linked to Migrant Riots Employs Convicted Pedophile in Leadership Position.

PULSE POINTS:

What Happened: SEIU Local 87, a chapter of a pro-Democrat labor union linked to pro-illegal immigrant protests and riots in California, hired Noelia Linares, an admitted sex offender, for a leadership role after she served jail time for child sexual abuse.

👥 Who’s Involved: Noelia Linares, SEIU Local 87, and American Accountability Foundation President Tom Jones.

📍 Where & When: San Francisco, California; Linares was hired in October 2022 after her conviction in 2018.

💬 Key Quote: “The SEIU’s decision to hire a sex offender to leadership shows just how extreme the union has become,” said AAF President Tom Jones.

⚠️ Impact: The hiring has raised questions about the union’s priorities and sparked criticism of its leadership and values.

IN FULL:

A San Francisco chapter of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), a labor group known for its support of Democratic campaigns which helped spark ongoing pro-illegal immigrant protests and riots in California, has come under fire after hiring a convicted sex offender to a leadership position. Noelia Linares, who now serves as a business agent at SEIU Local 87, pleaded “no contest” in 2018 to charges of child sexual abuse.

Linares’ legal troubles stem from a 2017 arrest at South San Francisco High School, where she worked as a teaching assistant for bilingual students. Authorities charged her with multiple crimes, including unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor and showing pornography to minors. Court records reveal that Linares ultimately pleaded “no contest” to two charges—sexual penetration by a foreign object and child molesting—while six other charges were dropped. She served one year in jail and completed probation in 2021.

Despite her criminal record, SEIU Local 87 hired Linares in October 2022. As a business agent, she represents the union in collective bargaining and other matters. Public records obtained by the American Accountability Foundation (AAF) confirm the hiring decision.

“The SEIU’s decision to hire a sex offender to leadership shows just how extreme the union has become,” said Tom Jones, President of the AAF. He added that the SEIU is “bankrolling radical left-wing causes and preaching ‘progressive values,’ they protect abusers.”

Linares is listed on California’s sex offender registry, and reports indicate she has been active in union activities, including participating in rallies. SEIU Local 87, which has openly opposed deportation operations and supported sanctuary city policies, has not responded to inquiries about Linares’ employment.

The SEIU, a national labor organization, has long been a significant financial backer of Democratic candidates and causes. Critics argue that Linares’s hiring reflects poorly on the union’s leadership and priorities.

Police Injured as Locals Riot Over Migrants Attempting to Rape Teen Girl.

PULSE POINTS:

What Happened: Seventeen police in the United Kingdom were injured during a second night of protests and riots following the attempted rape of a local girl, allegedly by two teenage migrants.

👥 Who’s Involved: Protestors, the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI), British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, two migrant sexual assault suspects, migrant residents of Ballymena.

📍 Where & When: The protests and violence began on June 9 in Ballymena, Northern Ireland, and continued on June 10.

💬 Key Quote: “It’s absolutely vital that the PSNI are given the time they need to investigate the incidents concerned rather than face mindless attacks as they seek to bring peace and order to keep people safe.” — Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer.

⚠️ Impact: Tensions between migrants and locals are increasing throughout the United Kingdom and European Union (EU), as the former account for a disproportionate share of sexual and violent crime.

IN FULL:

A total of 17 police were injured after protestors attacked officers while demonstrating against mass migration following the attmepted rape of a local girl, allegedly by two migrant teenagers. Locals in Ballymena, a town in Northern Ireland—which is part of the United Kingdom—have been protesting and rioting for days, with some targeting police and the homes of migrants in the town.

Overall, 32 people have been arrested in connection with he violence, five of them on the evening of June 10. The protests began on Monday, June 9, following the arrest of the two 14-year-old Romanian-speaking migrants, and were organized just hours before they appeared in court.

Riot officers from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) were deployed to the town and were attacked with bricks, rocks, petrol bombs, and fireworks. In response, the PSNI deployed water cannons on the protestors. Several cars were also set ablaze, and windows of homes, allegedly belonging to migrants, were vandalized. So far, only one man, aged 29, has been charged with rioting, attempted criminal damage, and disorderly behaviour.

British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer condemned the violence, saying, “It’s absolutely vital that the PSNI are given the time they need to investigate the incidents concerned rather than face mindless attacks as they seek to bring peace and order to keep people safe.”

UFC star Conor McGregor, campaigning for the presidency of the independent Republic of Ireland on an anti-migrant crime platform, expressed solidarity with the protestors in Northern Ireland, reposting an X (formerly Twitter) post saying, “Catholics and Protestants stand united in Ballymena tonight and have burned down the houses of migrants who raped a young Irish girl. You touch our kids, our gloves are off.”

The Republic of Ireland has also seen increasing anti-mass migration sentiment, with migrant hotels set on fire.

The anti-mass migration protests in Northern Ireland are just the latest in Europe and come after similar protests and riots in mainland Great Britain last year, after a migration-background teenager, Axel Rudakubana, stabbed three children to death in Southport, England, and wounded several others.

Trump Announces ‘Deal With China Is Done’ Following London Tariff Talks.

PULSE POINTS:

What Happened: A “framework deal” was reached between the U.S. and China during trade talks in London, England, though it awaits final approval by U.S. President Donald J. Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

👥 Who’s Involved: President Trump, President Xi, U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, and Chinese Vice Commerce Minister Li Chenggang.

📍 Where & When: Trade negotiations occurred in London on June 8-9, 2025, with President Trump announcing the deal on June 10, 2025.

💬 Key Quote: President Trump posted on Truth Social, “Deal with China is done, subject to final approval with President Xi and me. Relationship is excellent!”

⚠️ Impact: The agreement aims to ease trade tensions, facilitate rare earth exports, and prevent a potential economic slowdown caused by supply chain disruptions.

IN FULL:

President Donald J. Trump announced on Wednesday that a “framework deal” has been reached between the United States and China after two days of intensive trade talks in London, England. The agreement, which seeks to ease tensions in the ongoing trade war between the two nations, still requires formal approval by both Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

The negotiations concluded late Tuesday night, with both sides confirming progress. U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick described the talks as an effort to “get the negativity out” of the bilateral relationship, adding that the focus is now on fostering “positive trade, growing trade.”

Under the proposed framework, China will maintain a 10 percent tariff on U.S. goods, while the U.S. retains a 55 percent tariff on Chinese imports. The deal also includes commitments for China to resume and increase exports of rare earth minerals critical to U.S. industries. In exchange, the U.S. will provide aerospace parts and semiconductor programming technology to China, along with renewed access for Chinese students to American universities.

President Trump took to Truth Social to declare, “OUR DEAL WITH CHINA IS DONE, SUBJECT TO FINAL APPROVAL WITH PRESIDENT XI AND ME. FULL MAGNETS, AND ANY NECESSARY RARE EARTHS, WILL BE SUPPLIED, UP FRONT, BY CHINA.”

The talks in London follow a preliminary agreement reached in Geneva, Switzerland, in May, which temporarily paused record-high tariffs of well over 100 percent on imports from both nations. The current tariffs, reduced to 30 percent for U.S. imports from China and 10 percent for Chinese imports from the U.S., could spike again if the framework is not finalized before July 9.

China’s state-run media has acknowledged “new progress” in the talks but offered no specifics. Vice Commerce Minister Li Chenggang confirmed the framework was agreed upon “in principle.”
