Analyst Says TikTok Ban Would Loosen Hollywood’s Grip on America’s Youth.

Banning TikTok would be a “gut punch” to Hollywood’s advertising capabilities, according to insiders.

The “engagement and awareness for movies and celebrities is unmatched on TikTok,” said Wedbush Securities tech analyst Daniel Ives in an interview with Variety. A TikTok ban “would be removing the hearts and lungs of social engagement across Hollywood and would be a gut punch in our view,” he said.

Studios have increasingly turned to the app to promote their films. The distributor Neon has “shifted a lot of our investment and our advertising dollars” to TikTok, said Christian Parkes, the studio’s chief marketing officer. “We’ve been able to manufacture followings far quicker there than on other platforms. TikTok is ground zero right now.”

[voting_poll post_id=”89963″]

In the coming weeks, the U.S. Senate will vote on a bipartisan bill requiring China’s ByteDance to divest from TikTok within six months or see the app banned in the U.S. The bill passed in the House by a vote of 365 t0 352. Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Sen. Mark Warner (D-CA) suggested this week that the bill may require amendments before it can be passed in the Senate.

BREAKING: Israel Commences Assault on Gaza City.

The Israeli military has begun the initial phase of a planned assault on Gaza City following a clash with Hamas. Israeli military spokesman Effie Defrin said the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) had already seized control of the city outskirts in a Wednesday briefing.

The Israeli government intends to call up approximately 60,000 reservists to finish the offensive against Gaza’s largest urban center, although the IDF says “Most of the troops that will be mobilised in this new stage will be active duty and not reservists.”

Sanctuary State Raid Nets Dozens of Illegals, Including Gangsters and Child Absers.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested 65 illegal aliens in Connecticut during a four-day operation named “Operation Broken Trust,” targeting serious offenders and transnational criminal activity.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: ICE Boston, federal law enforcement partners including the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), U.S. Marshals Service, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), targeting illegal immigrants.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The operation took place over four days in Connecticut, following the state’s expansion of its “Trust Act” sanctuary policies in May.

💬KEY QUOTE: “Sanctuary legislation like Connecticut’s Trust Act only endangers the communities it claims to protect… The state of Connecticut is a safer place thanks to the hard work and determination of the men and women of ICE,” said Patricia H. Hyde, acting Field Office Director of ICE Boston.

🎯IMPACT: The arrests snared migrants with criminal convictions, including for sexual assault, drug trafficking, child exploitation, and gang-related offenses.

IN FULL

The Boston Field Office of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has executed a four-day operation in Connecticut, resulting in the capture of 65 illegal aliens. ‘Operation Broken Trust’ targeted migrants engaged in transnational organized crime, other gang activities, and serious criminal offenses, including kidnapping, assault, drug trafficking, weapons violations, and sexual crimes. It was launched after Connecticut’s Democrat state government expanded its “Trust Act,” a sanctuary law that significantly restricts local law enforcement from cooperating with ICE.

Acting Field Office Director Patricia H. Hyde condemned such sanctuary policies, declaring, “Sanctuary legislation like Connecticut’s Trust Act only endangers the communities it claims to protect. Such laws only force law enforcement professionals to release criminal alien offenders back into the very communities they have already victimized.” She emphasized that these policies compel ICE to carry out potentially dangerous at-large arrests within communities, because local authorities release wanted migrants instead of safely transferring them into federal custody.

Director Hyde highlighted the severity of the offenses the captured migrants committed, stating, “Make no mistake: Every person that we arrested are criminals and breaking federal law, but many of these individuals also victimized innocent people and traumatized communities—rapists, drug traffickers, child sex predators, and members of violent transnational criminal gangs.”

The operation was conducted in collaboration with ICE’s Hartford field office, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the U.S. Marshals Service, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF).

The Trump administration is signficantly expanding ICE’s detention capacity, with new facilities such as Florida’s “Alligator Alcatraz” and “Deportation Depot” and Nebraska’s “Cornusker Clink” opening at pace.

India Is Reeling Under Trump Tariffs.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: President Donald J. Trump imposed a 25 percent tariff on Indian exports, with plans to double it to 50 percent next week, citing India’s continued purchase of Russian oil.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: President Trump, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and senior officials from both nations.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The tariffs were announced in August 2025, after President Trump warned Russia would be subject to secondary sanctions if it does not make peace with Ukraine.

💬KEY QUOTE: “With Trump, everything is leverage. What seemed like alignment [with India] in February turned out to be a setup for pressure in August.” – Chietigj Bajpaee, Chatham House.

🎯IMPACT: The tariffs have strained the Indian economy and disrupted trade.

IN FULL

The Indian economy is under strain following President Donald J. Trump’s decision to impose a 25 percent tariff on Indian goods, with plans to raise it to 50 percent. The move, tied to India’s continued purchase of Russian oil, caught New Delhi off guard and sparked a rare public rift between the U.S. and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In February, President Trump and Prime Minister Modi held a summit in Washington, D.C., announcing plans to grow bilateral trade to $500 billion by 2030. Modi then described the U.S. as “India’s most trusted partner”—despite the South Asian country’s membership of the BRICS bloc alongside China, Russia, and other countries often at odds with U.S. foreign and trade policy.

The tone has changed since February, as the Trump administration seeks to pressure Russia into making peace with Ukraine by imposing secondary sanctions on key trade partners. Chietigj Bajpaee, senior research fellow for South Asia in the Asia-Pacific Programme at Chatham House in England, commented, “With Trump, everything is leverage. What seemed like alignment in February turned out to be a setup for pressure in August.”

The tariffs target key Indian export sectors like textiles and leather goods. White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy Stephen Miller has noted that, beyond enriching Russia through energy purchases, India’s anti-American trade policies have played a role in the sanctions, explaining, “India portrays itself as being one of our closest friends in the world, but they don’t accept our products. They impose massive tariffs on us.”

“It is extremely unfortunate that the U.S. should choose to impose additional tariffs on India for actions that several other countries are also taking in their own national interest,” India’s Ministry of External Affairs has complained. Indian arms purchases from the U.S. have also been paused in retaliation for the tariffs.

However, President Trump has signaled he is willing to stay the course, declaring in late July: “I don’t care what India does with Russia. They can take their dead economies down together, for all I care. We have done very little business with India, their Tariffs are too high, among the highest in the World. Likewise, Russia and the USA do almost no business together.”

Notably, Indian nationals make up the majority of H-1B visa migrants in the U.S. These are notionally temporary and skilled workers, used heavily by U.S. tech giants like Google, Microsoft, and Infosys. Critics say the program undercuts American wages by allowing firms to hire cheaper foreign labor while sidelining U.S. workers.

Vance Forced British Government to Back Down on Invading Americans’ Privacy.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Vice President J.D. Vance played a key role in convincing the British government to drop its demands for Apple to create a “backdoor” to access encrypted user data.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Vice President Vance, Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard, Apple, and the British government.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Negotiations occurred over several months, with a diplomatic visit to the United Kingdom earlier this month.

💬KEY QUOTE: “[T]he UK has agreed to drop its mandate for Apple to provide a ‘back door’ that would have enabled access to the protected encrypted data of American citizens and encroached on our civil liberties.” – Tulsi Gabbard.

🎯IMPACT: The agreement preserves Americans’ privacy rights in the face of ongoing efforts by European governments to effectively globalize their online censorship regimes.

IN FULL

Vice President J.D. Vance “personally” intervened to force Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer’s government in the United Kingdom to abandon its push for Apple to create a “backdoor” to access encrypted user data. A U.S. official told the media that Vance “was in charge and was personally involved in negotiating a deal, including having direct conversations with the British government.”

In February, reports emerged that the British Home Secretary—roughly equivalent to the U.S. Homeland Security Secretary—had issued a covert order under Britain’s Investigatory Powers Act of 2016, pressuring Apple to weaken iCloud encryption. The Vance-brokered agreement “ensure[s] Americans’ private data remains private and our constitutional rights and civil liberties are protected,” according to Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard.

Vance has often used his position as Vice President to push back against the growing censorship apparatus across Europe, particularly in areas where it attempts to encroach on Americans’ free speech rights. Earlier this year at the Munich Security Conference in Germany, Vance warned: “Europe faces many challenges, but the crisis this continent faces right now, the crisis I believe we all face together, is one of our own making. If you’re running in fear of your own voters, there is nothing America can do for you. Nor, for that matter, is there anything that you can do for the American people who elected me and elected President Trump.”

Elsewhere, the Vice President has tied his concerns over censorship in Europe to the continent’s ongoing reliance on America for its defense, cautioning: “Think about this: Germany’s entire defense is subsidized by the American taxpayer. There are thousands upon thousands of American troops in Germany today. Do you think that the American taxpayer is going to stand for that if you get thrown in jail in Germany for posting a mean tweet?”

Restrictions on free speech in the United Kingdom, specifically, are facing increasing U.S. scrutiny under the Trump-Vance administration, with the U.S. State Department’s latest human rights report highlighting credible evidence of curbs on free expression. The report flagged Britain’s new Online Safety Act, which grants British regulators expanded powers to monitor and censor online content, including on U.S.-based platforms with British users, as particularly problematic.

Musk Backing Down on ‘America Party’ to Build Ties With Vance: Report.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Elon Musk appears to have paused plans to launch a political party to challenge President Donald J. Trump and the GOP ahead of the 2026 midterms.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Elon Musk, President Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, Andrew Yang, Mark Cuban, and Libertarian National Committee chairman Steven Nekhaila.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Recent weeks, with new developments reported by The Wall Street Journal.

💬KEY QUOTE: “It doesn’t seem like anything has been in action, neither at the state level or at the ground level,” Nekhaila said of Musk’s proposed ‘America Party.’

🎯IMPACT: Musk may shift focus back to his companies and rebuild ties with Republican leaders, particularly Vice President Vance, ahead of his possible 2028 presidential run.

IN FULL

Former Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) frontman Elon Musk appears to be reaching for a rapprochement with President Donald J. Trump, with public outbursts against the America First leader dwindling and public support for his federalization of law enforcement in Washington, D.C. A Wall Street Journal report suggests Musk has also scaled back plans to form an ‘America Party’ to challenge Trump and the GOP in the 2026 midterms, focusing on building ties with Vice President J.D. Vance ahead of a possible presidential run in 2028.

The WSJ reports that Musk is considering backing Vance’s potential 2028 run financially, having already spent nearly $300 million in support of Trump and other Republicans in 2024. Despite this, and a prominent public-facing role in the early days of Trump’s second administration, the pair fell out over the One Big, Beautiful Bill Act, aimed at expanding U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and cutting taxes for American workers, with Musk complaining it would increase the deficit.

Musk has acknowledged that forming a third party “would damage his relationship with the Vice President,” according to the WSJ. Steven Nekhaila, chairman of the Libertarian National Committee, laments that Musk’s team has shown “eerie silence” on the America Party, with no activity at either the state or ground level. Meetings with third-party organizers, including former Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang and Democrat donor Mark Cuban, were reportedly canceled.

Vance recently said that his it was “a mistake for [Musk] to try to break from the President,” expressing his “hope… that by the time of the midterms, he’s kind of come back into the fold.” Notably, Musk’s popularity cratered after he turned on President Trump, with his previous support for the MAGA kingpin having already damaged his standing with liberals.

RFK Jr. Calls Out Docs Pushing Covid Shots on Kids: ‘Angry That CDC Has Eliminated Corporate Influence.’

For the first time in 30 years, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) has broken from the CDC by recommending COVID shots for children as young as 6 months—raising ethical questions since its top donors include vaccine makers like Pfizer and Moderna.

Back up: The CDC officially withdrew its recommendation that healthy children receive the COVID-19 vaccine on May 27. Previously, the jab was advised for kids as young as six months.

The details: AAP released its annual immunization schedule for children on Tuesday, which included the COVID-19 shot for all children ages six through 23 months old.

It warned: “Infants and children six through 23 months of age are at the highest risk for severe COVID-19.”

Pay-for-play: Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. called out the AAP in an X post, arguing that it’s unethical for a pediatric group reliant on vaccine-maker funding to push universal child COVID shots.

  • Kennedy shared a screenshot of their “President’s Circle” donors, which include COVID vaccine makers Pfizer, Moderna, Sanofi, and Merck (who contributed to the J&J vaccine). He noted:
  • “These four companies make virtually every vaccine on the CDC recommended childhood vaccine schedule. AAP is angry that CDC has eliminated corporate influence.”
  • “AAP should follow the lead of HHS and disclose conflicts of interest, including its corporate entanglements… so that Americans may ask whether the AAP’s recommendations reflect public health interest, or are, perhaps, just a pay-to-play scheme to promote commercial ambitions of AAP’s Big Pharma benefactors.”

Liability: Kennedy also reminded the AAP that only vaccines recommended by the CDC are covered under the 1986 National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act, meaning doctors and hospitals would be liable for injuries stemming from the COVID vaccines.

Big picture: AAP’s defiance of the CDC guidance highlights the battle between corporate-backed medicine and a federal shift toward parental choice.

Doctors Defy Trump Admin, Push New COVID Shot for Kids.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) has recommended a new COVID-19 shot for children, diverging from federal government guidance for the first time in three decades.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: The AAP, Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and American children.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The AAP issued the guidelines two months after Secretary Kennedy overhauled the federal vaccine board.

💬KEY QUOTE: “It is going to be somewhat confusing. But our opinion is we need to make the right choices for children to protect them.” – AAP official Dr. James Campbell.

🎯IMPACT: The AAP’s decision has sparked debate over public health policies and vaccine guidelines.

IN FULL

For the first time in three decades, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) has issued a recommendation that diverges from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), endorsing a new COVID-19 vaccine for young children.

Dr. James Campbell, vice chairman of the AAP’s infectious diseases committee, addressed the shift, noting, “It is going to be somewhat confusing. But our opinion is we need to make the right choices for children to protect them.” The AAP’s alternative guidance promotes vaccinating children between just six months and two years old.

This follows a significant shake-up two months ago by Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who restructured the federal vaccine advisory board. Kennedy, known for his vaccine skepticism, has taken a cautious approach toward recommending COVID vaccines for healthy children, instead encouraging parents to “consult with their doctors.”

Kennedy removed the COVID-19 vaccine recommendations for healthy children and pregnant women from the CDC immunization schedule earlier this year. “Bottom line: it’s common sense and it’s good science. We are now one step closer to realizing [President Trump’s] promise to Make America Healthy Again,” RFK Jr. said of the reforms.

Dem Governor Signs Bill Giving Financial Aid to Illegals.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: On Tuesday, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker (D) signed a bill allowing student residents who are not eligible for federal financial aid to receive assistance from state and local governments in Illinois.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker; U.S. Representative Mary Miller (R-IL); illegal immigrants and students in Illinois.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Illinois, August 2025.

💬KEY QUOTE: “Allowing taxpayer-funded financial aid for illegal aliens is a slap in the face to hardworking Illinois families and students.” – Mary Miller

🎯IMPACT: All students residing in Illinois are now eligible for financial aid benefits regardless of immigration status; noncompliant institutions may face public scrutiny and policy challenges.

IN FULL

Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker (D), a possible contender for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2028, has signed a bill into law opening financial aid to all residents, regardless of immigration status. This legislation allows illegal immigrants residing in Illinois to receive monetary benefits for education, stating that “a student who is an Illinois resident and who is not otherwise eligible for federal financial aid, including, but not limited to, a transgender student who is disqualified for failure to register for selective service or a noncitizen student who has not obtained lawful permanent residence, shall be eligible for financial aid and benefits.”

State Senator Celina Villanueva (D), who supports the bill, claims it is “about making sure no student is left behind because of where they were born.” U.S. Representative Mary Miller (R-IL), who opposes the bill, argues that “Allowing taxpayer-funded financial aid for illegal aliens is a slap in the face to hardworking Illinois families and students,” adding: “Our state is drowning in debt, yet J.B. Pritzker is determined to drain even more taxpayer dollars to reward illegals, she added. ”

Under the law, all students residing in Illinois are eligible for financial aid programs funded or administered by the state, local governments, or public universities.

Migrant Faces Hundreds of Charges for Murder, Attempted Murder After Christmas Market Attack.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: A migrant man has been charged with murder and attempted murder following a deadly car attack at a Christmas market in Magdeburg, Germany, which left six people dead and many others injured.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: The suspect, a 50-year-old Saudi doctor referred to as Taleb A., and the victims, including a nine-year-old boy and five women aged 45 to 75.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The attack occurred on December 20, 2024, at a Christmas market in Magdeburg, Germany.

💬KEY QUOTE: Prosecutors allege the suspect acted “out of dissatisfaction and frustration with the course and outcome of a civil law dispute and the failure of various criminal complaints.”

🎯IMPACT: The attack has left a community grieving, with six lives lost and hundreds of others impacted by non-fatal injuries.

IN FULL

A Saudi migrant has been formally charged with murder and hundreds of counts of attempted murder for a deadly car attack at a Christmas market in Magdeburg, Germany, on December 20, 2024. The suspect, identified only as Taleb A. due to German privacy laws, allegedly drove a rented BMW into a crowded area, killing six people and injuring dozens more.

Among the victims were a nine-year-old boy and five women aged between 45 and 75. Prosecutors accuse Taleb A. of deliberately aiming to kill as many people as possible, describing the act as premeditated. He faces charges for six counts of murder, 338 counts of attempted murder, 309 counts of bodily harm, and a motoring offense.

Authorities say the suspect was not under the influence of alcohol and acted alone. The suspect has lived in Germany since 2006 and holds permanent residency. Although it is said that he does not fit the profile of an Islamist extremist, prosecutors say he was flagged in the past by Saudi authorities. The court in Magdeburg is now considering whether the case will proceed to trial. If convicted, he faces a life sentence.

The attack has shaken the community and renewed concerns about public safety at Christmas markets across Germany. In December 2016, for instance, an Islamist terrorist drove a stolen truck into a Christmas market in Berlin, killing 12 people. The attacker, Tunisian asylum seeker Anis Amri, was linked to the Islamic State, and later shot dead by police in Italy. The Berlin attack exposed serious failings in German counterterrorism oversight and immigration enforcement.

More recently, German authorities have foiled several Christmas market plots. Just weeks before the Magdeburg tragedy, police in Augsburg uncovered a plot by a suspected Islamic State sympathizer who had scouted a market with plans to carry out a vehicle-ramming attack.

Trump Opens ANOTHER Deportation Facility, Dubbed the ‘Cornhusker Clink.’

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: The Trump administration is set to open its fourth new illegal immigrant detention and deportation facility modeled on Florida’s “Alligator Alcatraz.”

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: The Trump administration, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), illegal immigrants, and the Department of Corrections Work Ethic Camp in McCook, Nebraska.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The “Cornhusker Clink” was revealed on August 19, in McCook, Nebraska.

💬KEY QUOTE: “Any sanctuary Jurisdiction that continues to put illegal aliens ahead of American citizens can either come to the table or see us in court.” — U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi

🎯IMPACT: The expansion of illegal immigrant detention capacity comes as President Donald J. Trump continues to push his administration to ramp up mass deportations.

IN FULL

The Trump administration is set to open its fourth new illegal immigrant detention and deportation facility modeled on Florida’s “Alligator Alcatraz,” repurposing the Department of Corrections Work Ethic Camp in McCook, Nebraska. Dubbed the “Cornhusker Clink,” the facility will be able to house 280 criminal illegal immigrants awaiting deportation and will be overseen by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Aside from the Trump administration’s flagship “Alligator Alcatraz” facility located in the Florida Everglades, an additional three new facilities have been opened or announced in recent weeks—including the “Deportation Depot” located at the shuttered Baker Correctional Institution in Sanderson, Florida, and the “Speedway Slammer” utilizing part of the Miami Correctional Facility in Bunker Hill, Indiana.

The expansion of illegal immigrant detention capacity comes as President Donald J. Trump continues to push his administration to ramp up mass deportations and undo the four years of unchecked mass migration under former President Joe Biden. Late last week, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi announced that 32 letters had been sent out to sanctuary jurisdictions nationwide, giving them a week to comply with federal immigration laws or face action from the Department of Justice (DOJ).

“Any sanctuary Jurisdiction that continues to put illegal aliens ahead of American citizens can either come to the table or see us in court,” she warned, adding: “Today, the Justice Department delivered demand letters to sanctuary cities, countries, and states—a key step in our strategic effort to eradicate sanctuary policies from California to New York.”
