Officials in New York City have been keeping a massive tent shelter for illegals in Brooklyn shielded from the public. However, new details emerged regarding the facility, which is believed to house upwards of 2,000 illegal immigrants. Drone footage taken by citizen journalists has revealed the shocking extent of the tent facility.
The sprawling tent complex is located at Floyd Bennett Field, situated in the Marine Park neighborhood of Brooklyn. Corporate media coverage of the facility has been relatively scant. Only a handful of outlets provided detailed or consistent reports on how many illegal immigrants at the location.
Floyd Bennett Field began as a civilian-use airfield before being turned into a naval air facility. After the U.S. Navy closed its operations at the airfield, it was transferred to the National Park Service and added to the Gateway National Recreation Area’s Jamaica Bay Unit. The New York Police Department (NYPD) maintains a helicopter landing pad and facility on the property.
Since the start of the southern border crisis under President Joe Biden, New York City has seen an estimated influx of an estimated 175,0000 illegal immigrants. The massive number of illegals has placed tremendous strain on the city’s budget and sent rents skyrocketing as demand for housing has increased. It is unclear if any of the facility’s residents are scheduled for deportation.
