President Donald J. Trump has flexed his loyalty in return for Dr. Peter Navarro, who is currently in jail at the Federal Correctional Institution in Miami as a result of a partisan contempt charge leveled against him by House Democrats running the now defunct January 6th show trial in Congress.
Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, Trump said: “I would absolutely have Peter back. This outrageous behavior by the Democrats should not have happened.”
Navarro, 74, has become a cause célèbre of the MAGA right. He is notable for his economic nationalism philosophy and his work in tracing the true origins of the Wuhan Lab’s coronavirus (COVID-19).
The prison denied Navarro the opportunity to speak with the Journal face-to-face. The parties instead relied on the prison’s e-mail system to conduct an interview where the septuagenarian revealed he had no regrets over his actions rejecting the authority of the House Committee and revealed his average day:
A typical day in prison, Navarro said, involves rising before dawn, having breakfast and walking a mile around the track to watch the sunrise before work in the law library. Lunch is followed by more work, then dinner at 4:45 p.m., and more exercise in the yard. Navarro has found ways to get his message out, penning opinion pieces for The Washington Times.
Navarro is due out of jail just before this summer’s RNC Convention, wherein he intends to issue a stark warning to the Biden regime, as well as writing about his ideas for a second Trump term in a new book: The New MAGA Deal.
