Symone Sanders-Townsend, a former advisor to Joe Biden, has criticized Biden regime officials who claim they cannot verify Israel’s potentially unlawful actions in Gaza, describing those statements as “absurd.”
“The statements from some administration officials about not being able to verify what’s happening in Gaza are absurd. We can all see the pictures. It’s horrific,” Sanders-Townsend wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter). Her comments come amidst rising tension over a recent Israeli strike on a site in Rafah housing displaced Palestinians. The attack resulted in the deaths of dozens of civilians.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu labeled the incident a “tragic event” and assured that it would be subject to investigation. The strike also resulted in the deaths of two Hamas militants, although Israeli authorities had not anticipated such significant civilian casualties.
This attack has reignited calls for a ceasefire among various international and local groups. Israel has maintained that its military operations will continue until Hamas is eliminated.
Sanders-Townsend has made previous comparisons between the global protests engendered by the Israel-Hamas war and the Black Lives Matter demonstrations that swept across the United States in recent years. “I know for a fact that at least a couple of months ago and weeks ago, people were telling Joe Biden, the President of the United States of America, that this ceasefire thing was going to blow over once you get the hostages back and won’t be an issue for the general election,” she told The Root in March. “I think that was wrong and bad advice to give.”
On Tuesday, Biden State Department official Stacy Gilbert resigned over the regime’s response to Israeli actions in Gaza.
