Several top CNN personalities may soon be without work as the broadcaster considers firing hundreds of workers amid dismal electionratings. Several key network personalities, including Wolf Blitzer and Jake Tapper, have been refused raises, as new rounds of firings are expected to occur in the coming weeks and months.
The firings are claimed to center primarily on production staff, and reporters and others will be expected to fill in the gaps. Reporter Dylan Byers notes, “Redundant assignments will be nixed, and various divisions will be reduced or even eliminated.”

CEO Mark Thompson is expected to implement the changes, which will attempt to make the network more competitive after ratings plummeted under former CNN head Chris Licht. Thompson has already implemented some changes at CNN, including scrapping the network’s opinion section in August of this year. He also fired around a hundred employees as part of restructuring in July.
Licht’s tenure as head of the network saw ratings decline to 800,000 in prime time. Under CEO Jeff Zucker, whom Licht replaced, the network saw highs of 13.3 million viewers in prime time. CNN is now one of the lowest-rated news networks on cable and could only manage 5.1 million viewers on election night, compared to 6 million on MSNBC and 10.3 million on Fox News.
Last month, CNN announced it would introduce a paywall on its online content in a bid to raise cash, offering a $3.99-a-month subscription service. CNN had previously tried to launch a streaming app, CNN+, but that failed after just 30 days.

Two men, Cameron Arnold and Zachary Evetts, have been indicted by a federal grand jury in connection with a violent July 4 attack on a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Alvarado, Texas. According to the indictment, Arnold, Evetts, and others orchestrated an armed assault on the Prairieland Detention Center. The group allegedly used fireworks to lure officers outside the facility before opening fire on them. FBI Director Kash Patel described the incident as a “planned and coordinated terrorist attack.”

Once officers responded, gunfire erupted. One officer from the Alvarado Police Department was shot in the neck from a concealed position in nearby woods. Another assailant reportedly fired 20 to 30 rounds at unarmed ICE staff.
The injured officer was hospitalized. Authorities recovered AR-style rifles, tactical radios, body armor, spray paint, and a van loaded with additional firearms and equipment. Investigators also found protest flyers and flags with slogans like “fight ICE terror with class war” and “resist fascism, fight oligarchy.”
In total, 15 to 17 individuals have been charged in connection with the assault, which officials say was carefully planned. The charges carry significant penalties, including attempted murder of federal officers and discharging a firearm during a crime of violence, both of which carry sentences ranging from 10 years to life in prison.
Federal officials have linked the attack to a broader rise in violence against ICE personnel. In a separate incident in September, a sniper-style attack targeted another ICE facility in Dallas, accidentally killing two detainees before the gunman took his own life. Investigators say that the attacker had studied facility blueprints and past political assassinations.
In response to the growing trend, President Trump has formally declared Antifa a terrorist organization. Attorney General Pam Bondi reiterated the administration’s position, stating that such acts will be prosecuted as terrorism under federal law.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) says U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has arrested an illegal immigrant in the Hanover Park suburb of Chicago, Illinois, who was serving as a sworn police officer. According to DHS, Radule Bojovic—a Montenegrin national who overstayed a 2015 tourist visa—was “encountered during a targeted enforcement action” as part of ICE’s “Midway Blitz” operation.
Notably, a sworn police officer is a law enforcement professional who has taken an oath to uphold the law and is empowered to enforce it, including carrying a firearm and making arrests. This status is granted after completing a law enforcement academy and is confirmed through a “swearing-in” ceremony, during which they take an oath to support the Constitution and perform their duties. Federal law bars illegal immigrants—and most nonimmigrant visa holders—from owning firearms.
The Hanover Park Police Department announced in an August social media post that Bojovic had joined the force after graduating from the Suburban Law Enforcement Academy. At the academy, Bojovic completed “an intensive 15 weeks of field training and evaluation as he continues preparing to serve the Hanover Park community.”
“Radule Bojovic violated our nation’s laws and was living ILLEGALLY in the United States for 10 years—what kind of police department gives criminal illegal aliens badges and guns? It’s a felony for aliens to even possess a firearm. A law enforcement officer who is actively breaking the law,” DHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement following the arrest.
The National Pulse reported in July that an illegal immigrant had been arrested after his attempt to unlawfully purchase a firearm was flagged by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF). Shockingly, Jon Luke Evans—a Jamaican national—was employed as a police officer in Maine when he attempted the gun purchase.
In late September, ICE agents also apprehended Dr. Ian Andre Roberts, the Superintendent of Des Moines Public Schools, after he was identified as an illegal alien from Guyana with a history of weapons-related charges. Notably, he was also registered to vote.

Sources indicate that the flag, which appeared to have a swastika incorporated into its red stripes, appears normal in person. The swastika is not visible to the naked eye and only appears in video and photographs as a kind of “optical illusion.”

The populist party’s proposals are extensive and go far beyond mass deportations, also targeting legal and naturalized immigrants with criminal records and ties to Islamist institutions.
The plan’s key components involve reviewing all citizenships granted over the past two decades, with mandatory reconfirmation for those issued in the last eight years. It suggests revoking the citizenship of convicted criminals and the withdrawal of foreign aid from countries that refuse to accept their own citizens back.
Messerschmidt also wants to establish high-security deportation centers and permanent border controls—a direct challenge to the European Union’s “free movement” migration regime—overseen by a new Ministry of repatriation, and Denmark’s de facto withdrawal from European and international conventions that obstruct deportations or facilitate chain migration through so-called “family reunification” rights.
Further measures to discourage migrants from entering Denmark are requirements for foreign criminals to serve their sentences abroad, a ban on remittances, bans on the Islamic call to prayer and on Islamic headscarves at public institutions, and the abolition of permanent residence permits. Islamic schools would also be banned, along with foreign funding of Islamic religious communities, which would also lose state recognition.
While the Danish People’s Party has never entered government in Denmark, it has been influential in the Scandinavian country’s multi-party system, previously supporting center-right coalitions in exchange for strong legislation on immigration. Denmark’s left-leaning parties have also become uncharacteristically strong on immigration relative to other left-leaning parties, to answer the electoral challenge of populists like Messerschmidt.
