Another Top CNN Star Bites the Dust.

Gloria Borger is leaving CNN after a nearly two-decade tenure with the corporate news network. The senior political analyst’s departure comes amid the media outlet’s continued struggles to generate revenue and attract viewers, forcing CEO Mark Thompson to consider layoffs for some of the outlet’s top on-air talent.

Since joining the network in 2007, Borger has been a prominent figure in much of CNN’s political and election programming, appearing frequently on The Situation Room and AC360. More recently, the senior political analyst merged as one of CNN’s top critics of President Donald J. Trump. In a 2022 column—citing now-debunked allegations leveled by the Democrat-controlled January 6 Select Committee—Borger wrote that Trump is “morally, intellectually and emotionally unfit for the office.”

Additionally, in 2021, Borger pushed the false claim that Trump’s legal team “lied” when they asserted the President was unaware that Vice President Mike Pence was in any danger during the January 6, 2021, Capitol riots. Pence, who was at the U.S. Capitol when the riots initially broke out, was removed to a secure location by his Secret Service protection detail.

The National Pulse previously reported that CNN suffered a 13 percent drop in its prime-time viewership following Trump’s landslide victory in the 2024 presidential election. This past May, the network’s number of prime-time viewers hit a three-decade low. It is likely that the blatant anti-Trump partisanship of CNN’s on-air talent—as well as several incidents of false reporting—are behind the ratings collapse.

Navy veteran Zachary Young is currently suing the network, alleging he was defamed by a news segment claiming he charged excessive fees without guaranteeing safety or success during Joe Biden’s bungled withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Additionally, a recent video segment aired by CNN claiming to document the rescue of a Syrian dissident from an Assad regime prison fell apart under scrutiny. While the network initially stated the Syrian man was named Adel Ghurbal, independent fact-checkers revealed the alleged prisoner was actually Salama Mohammad Salama—a notorious Assad regime torturer.

Among the accused are Natacha Rey and Amandine Roy, who previously faced slander convictions for claiming that Mrs Macron never existed and that her brother, Jean-Michel Trogneux, had transitioned to become her. Although they were initially found guilty, a court of appeals later overturned the decision, ruling that their remarks did not legally qualify as defamation. Mrs. Macron is appealing that ruling. If convicted, the defendants in this case could face up to two years in prison.

President Macron claims that taking legal action is not just a personal response but a matter of principle. He described the attacks as part of a broader campaign to harm his wife and destabilize public trust, saying the falsehoods were spread “with the aim of causing harm, in the service of an ideology and with established connections to far-right leaders.”

The Met also runs several internal so-called support networks, such as the He For She gender-equality initiative and a Bisexual Support Group, and marks so-called awareness events, including International Pronouns Day and Pansexual and Panromantic Awareness Day.

Critics have questioned the rising DEI costs at a time when the force faces a significant budget shortfall. William Yarwood of the TaxPayers’ Alliance said, “It’s staggering that while Londoners are seeing stations shut and frontline police services cut, the Met still finds millions to bankroll a sprawling diversity bureaucracy.” He added, “Taxpayers expect bobbies on the beat, not endless networks, awareness weeks and ‘life event’ managers.”

The Met, which takes about a quarter of England and Wales’ total police budget, is currently facing a £260 million ($339 million) deficit and has announced plans to cut 1,700 officers and staff. Earlier this year, it received £32 million ($42 million) in additional funding from City Hall and the Home Office, roughly equivalent to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Trans Teen Confesses to Planning Valentine’s Day Massacre at High School.

An 18-year-old Indiana student, Trinity Shockley, who also goes by Jamie and identifies as male, has admitted to plotting a Valentine’s Day massacre at her high school. According to the Morgan County Prosecutor’s Office, Shockley is expected to plead guilty to felony conspiracy to commit murder in exchange for a maximum sentence of 12.5 years in prison and five years of probation. Authorities said police were alerted in February after receiving a tip that Shockley had obtained access to an AR-15 rifle, purchased a bulletproof vest, and had become fixated on mass shootings.

When investigators searched her home, they discovered what was described as a shrine to Nikolas Cruz, the gunman responsible for the 2018 Parkland, Florida, school shooting, along with references to other mass killers. Officers also found detailed evidence suggesting she intended to attack her school on February 14, coinciding with the anniversary of the Parkland tragedy. As part of her plea deal, Shockley will be permanently banned from researching school shooters. Her electronic devices will be monitored through specialized software, and she will be prohibited from ever owning a firearm.

The case has drawn national attention amid a series of high-profile shootings involving transgenders. In March 2023, Audrey Hale, a 28-year-old transgender, carried out a deadly attack at The Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee, killing three children and three adults. Hale left behind a manifesto and extensive planning materials.

In February 2024, Genesse Ivonne Moreno, also known as Jeffrey Escalante, opened fire at Houston’s Lakewood Church, the megachurch led by pastor Joel Osteen. The suspect, who was initially reported to be a transgender migrant with pro-Palestinian sympathies, used an AR-style rifle marked with the word “Palestine” and reportedly praised Osama bin Laden. Conflicting reports later emerged regarding the shooter’s gender identity.

Another shooting occurred in August 2025 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, when 23-year-old Robin Westman, a transgender who had legally changed his name from Robert, killed two children and injured many others at Annunciation Catholic Church and School. In his writings, Westman expressed regret about undergoing gender transition, stating, “I only keep [the long hair] because it is pretty much my last shred of being trans. I am tired of being trans, I wish I never brain-washed myself.”

The disruption comes as the Senate Democrat-led government shutdown enters its 27th day, with essential workers, including air traffic controllers, increasingly failing to report to work.

U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) Secretary Sean Duffy explained the situation during a television appearance early Monday, noting that air traffic controllers are under significant financial strain due to missed paychecks. “They got their notice on Thursday and Friday. They get a notice of what they are going to be paid on Tuesday. And they got a big fat no paycheck is coming on Tuesday,” Duffy stated.

Duffy highlighted the stress faced by air traffic controllers, many of whom live paycheck to paycheck. “I’ve been out talking to air traffic controllers, and you can see the stress. These are people that oftentimes live paycheck to paycheck… they are concerned about gas in the car, they are concerned about childcare,” he said.

On Sunday, FlightAware recorded over 8,700 delays across the U.S., with 22 “staffing triggers” reported at air traffic control towers nationwide. Duffy warned that these indicators signal worsening conditions, predicting higher levels of delays and cancellations in the coming days as staffing shortages grow more severe.

The U.S. faced a shortage of air traffic controllers even before the shutdown began, but the ongoing impasse threatens to exacerbate the issue. The National Pulse reported in January 2024 that the former Biden government prioritized diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI)-based hiring at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), resulting in qualified air traffic controllers being turned away despite numerous open positions. Concerningly, the former Biden government even sought to ensure that a portion of new hires included individuals with severe intellectual and psychiatric disabilities.

An internal FAA safety report highlighted that the tower’s staffing levels were “not normal for the time of day and volume of traffic” during the deadly January 2025 collision between an American Airlines flight and a Black Hawk helicopter near Reagan National Airport. In a phone call on January 6, 2021, hours before the Capitol protests, President Donald J. Trump reportedly criticized then-Vice President Mike Pence for refusing to block the certification of the 2020 election results while state-level challenges were underway. According to notes taken by Pence, Trump called him a “wimp” and said, “If you do that, I made a big mistake five years ago.” These details come from Jonathan Karl’s upcoming book, Retribution.

Pence’s notes, written in his day planner, were intended to be used as evidence by former Special Counsel Jack Smith in his investigation into Trump’s alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election. Pence had previously referenced this call in his 2022 memoir, So Help Me God. Trump later stated during a speech on January 6 that he hoped Pence would “do the right thing” by declining to sign off on questionable Electoral College votes, but the then-Vice President refused to back the America First leader.

During the certification process, Trump tweeted criticism of Pence, stating he “didn’t have the courage to do what should have been done to protect our Country and our Constitution.”

Trump has denied calling Pence a “wimp,” contradicting his former Vice President’s recollection of events. Notably, Pence has attempted to position himself as and capitalize on being the foremost anti-Trump voice in the Republican Party. Even in that endeavour, however, Pence has shown a lack of fortitude. The National Pulse reported in May that Pence, while accepting the John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award for his actions in January 2020, avoided criticizing President Trump by name, instead opting to attack the President through innuendo.

In January, Pence—in his role as an establishment mouthpiece to attack President Trump and his agenda—lobbied Republicans in the Senate to reject Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s nomination as Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS). Pence’s political organization, Advancing American Freedom, unsuccessfully whipped Republican senators against the ex-Democrat Kennedy’s nomination on the pretext of his past support for abortion access.

Left Rally Round ‘Death to the IDF’ Singer After Louis Theroux Loses Sponsor for Softball Interview.

British Airways (BA) has pulled sponsorship from Louis Theroux’s podcast following a softball interview with Pascal Robinson-Foster, a.k.a. Bobby Vylan, the frontman of the hip-hop duo Bob Vylan. Bobby Vylan was previously broadcast leading chants of “Death, death to the IDF” (Israel Defense Forces) at a music festival by the BBC, and also produced a song directed at anti-mass migration patriots, including the lyrics “I heard you want your country back, ha, shut the f**k up, you can’t have that.”

A spokesman for the airline stated, “The interview breaches our sponsorship policy in relation to politically sensitive or controversial subject matters.” They added, “We and our third-party media agency have processes in place to ensure these issues don’t occur, and we’re investigating how this happened. Our sponsorship of the series has now been paused, and the advert has been removed.”

Notably, on the podcast, Vylan defended his Glastonbury “Death to the IDF” chant, saying he had no regrets and would do it again, and that BBC employees cheered him on.

However, some on the left are rallying around Vylan—in part by throwing Theroux under the bus. “But oh wait, no, it was interviewing someone critical of Israel that was the problem,” commented activist Phillip Proudfoot, sharing a promotional image for Theroux’s Louis and the Nazis documentary.

Commentator Bushra Shaikh complained that “British Airways was fine sponsoring Louis Theroux’s podcast when he was interviewing Daniella Weiss, the psychopathic genocide-supporting Israeli settler leader” while drawing a “red line” against “Bob Vylan’s hurty words about the IDF.”

New Lines Magazine Associate Editor Idrees Ahmas was more sympathetic to Theroux—who was not sympathetic to the aforementioned subjects in the way he was to Vylan—saying, “So [British Airways] is trying to financially punish a British journalist to protect from criticism a foreign army implicated in a genocide? This is a game two can play. Add BA to the boycott list. There are better and cheaper alternatives.”

The Trump administration withdrew the Vylan duo’s U.S. visas in the wake of the chanting scandal, with Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau remarking, “Foreigners who glorify violence and hatred are not welcome visitors to our country.”
