Former White House National Security Advisor and increasingly unhinged neoconservative ideologue John Bolton says U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio should resign his appointment following Friday’s contentious Oval Office meeting between President Donald J. Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. During the meeting, which was open to members of the press, Zelenksy became angry and irate with U.S. President J.D. Vance, causing Trump to intervene.
Shortly after the diplomatic row, Bolton appeared on MSNBC, telling host Nicole Wallace he thinks Rubio and National Security Adviser Mike Waltz should resign from their roles in the Trump White House. Bolton—an extreme foreign policy hawk and ardent supporter of U.S. military intervention in a concerning number of other countries—dubiously argued that both men’s credibility could suffer if they remain associated with Trump.
“This is really the time to do it,” Bolton said, insisting both Rubio and Walz should step down. He continued: “If they don’t get out now, I think their reputations will suffer for a long, long time, and that would be sad because their record in believing in a strong American national security policy is very good up until now.”

The National Pulse reported on Friday, following Zelensky’s White House outburst, that President Trump warned, “President Zelenskyy is not ready for Peace if America is involved, because he feels our involvement gives him a big advantage in negotiations. I don’t want advantage, I want PEACE.”
Meanwhile, Sec. Rubio was quick to defend both Trump and Vance after the White House meeting. “That wasn’t supposed to be this way, but that’s the path he chose, and I think, frankly, sends his country backwards in regards to achieving peace, which is what President Trump wants at the end of the day,” he said during an interview, arguing Zelensky should apologize for “turning this thing into the fiasco.”
