Former MSNBC and ESPN host turned iHeart Radio podcaster Keith Olbermann is on his second day of an unhinged social media tirade, targeting members of the Trump administration and threatening other prominent Republican figures. Late Monday, Olbermann kicked off his rant by threatening Republican strategist and CNN commentator Scott Jennings before continuing his attacks on Tuesday.
“You’re next motherf**ker,” the former MSNBC host wrote in a now-deleted post on X (formerly Twitter) directed at Jennings. “But keep mugging for the camera.”
The remarks were widely interpreted as a violent threat, especially in light of the continued violent political rhetoric espoused by Democrats and far-left figures following the assassination of Turning Point USA (TPUSA) founder Charlie Kirk.
After initial pushback, Olbermann attempted to walk back the threat, saying, “Now we get the fascists off real tv. That’d mean your career is next, Jennings. Send a tape to Real America’s Voice.”
After leveling his threat against Jennings, Olbermann’s social media meltdown continued on Tuesday, with the far-left podcaster writing, “Ladies and gentlemen, [Marco Rubio], political prostitute.” The post appears to be in reference to Secretary of State Marco Rubio‘s attendance at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) alongside President Donald J. Trump. Next, Olbermann railed against White House Border Czar Tom Homan, posting to X, “Homan literally has the word ‘ho’ in his name.”
The temporary suspension of late-night comedy host Jimmy Kimmel by ABC’s parent company Disney appears to have been the impetus for Olbermann’s meltdown. However, Kimmel’s reinstatement on Monday does not seem to have satiated the far-left commentator.
