A senior Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) official said Friday that protesters attempting to disrupt federal immigration enforcement operations at the Whipple Federal Building in Minneapolis, Minnesota, had shields and other gear distributed to them by a U-Haul truck. Speaking at a press conference, Marcos Charles, Acting Executive Associate Director of ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations, said a group arrived at the building equipped to block access and prevent agents from leaving to carry out their duties.

“Moments ago, a group of agitators, a U-Haul van filled with shields… and gear decided to come over here to the Whipple building and block traffic. They are currently trying to impede us from getting out of the building and going to do our mission,” Charles said.

Charles stated that ICE would continue operations despite the obstruction. “I will tell you right now, they are going to fail because no matter what they put up in front of us, we are here to do a job to protect this community, to protect Minnesotans, and to keep the criminal illegal aliens off the street and put them where they belong: back into detention and remove them from this country,” he added.

The Antifa-affiliated media group Unicorn Riot acknowledged the protest activity on social media, describing coordinated demonstrations across the Twin Cities amid extreme cold. “Today is #ICEout day in MN with high temps reaching -11°F & masses are protesting at MSP Airport while hundreds are outside the Whipple Federal Building. On one side, a blockade prevents ICE vehicles from driving thru while ice balls are thrown at vehicles on the other side,” the group posted.

Earlier this month, President Donald J. Trump blamed radical left-wing extremists for a rise in attacks and threats against law enforcement following the shooting of an anti-ICE activist who hit a federal officer with her car.

Department of Homeland Security officials have reported more than 10,000 arrests of illegal aliens in the Minneapolis area, drawing criticism from Minnesota’s Democrat leadership, including Governor Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey. The Department of Justice has recently arrested several activists accused of orchestrating aggressive anti-ICE actions in Minneapolis, including the disruption of church services and federal operations.

The National Pulse reported earlier on Friday that Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes (D) had falsely suggested it could be legal for people to use deadly force against masked ICE agents, under Arizona’s “Stand Your Ground” law, if they feel their life is in danger.

Maine is not the only state where government officials are pleading with far-left demonstrators to stop interfering with law enforcement. Late Thursday, Vancouver, Washington Police Chief Troy Price posted a video to X (formerly Twitter), asking the public to stop following, approaching, and harassing his department’s specialty units, including the city’s S.W.A.T. team and Crime Reduction Unit. According to Chief Price, both police units have been mistaken by demonstrators for ICE agents.

In response to the crisis, the U.S. Treasury Department took emergency measures to help stabilize  Argentina’s economy and currency, as the country under Milei has been considered a staunch regional ally. Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has finally been compelled to retract his Chagos Island Bill, finalizing the surrender of the British Indian Ocean Territory, or Chagos Islands, to Mauritius, following opposition from the Trump administration. Notably, the Chagos Islands include Diego Garcia, home to a strategic British-American military base.

The bill, which was slated for debate in the House of Lords on Monday, is in limbo, ostensibly because it has emerged that Starmer’s deal with Mauritius might breach a 1966 treaty between Britain and America that the Chagos Islands “shall remain under United Kingdom sovereignty.” However, it seems likely that the real reason for the deal’s suspension is President Donald J. Trump publicly branding it “an act of great stupidity,” as Mauritius is an ally of China. Starmer had previously claimed Trump’s comments were revenge for his stance on Greenland, and that the deal would go forward regardless of his intervention.

Starmer had agreed to pay Mauritius billions of pounds in order to continue leasing Diego Garcia—which Britain currently controls as its sovereign territory for free—for 99 years, and the Trump administration had until recently publicly assented to the deal, despite private reservations. British opposition figures such as Trump ally Nigel Farage had long been lobbying Trump to oppose the deal, on the basis that Mauritius could undermine Chagos even with the lease by leasing another island nearby to China, or otherwise interfering with its operation.

President Trump’s patience with Starmer on courtesy appears to have snapped after he publicly opposed U.S. efforts to acquire Denmark, despite having no national interest in the territory. Ludicrously, Starmer had argued that no decision about Greenland could be made without the Greenlanders’ consent, while explicitly refusing to grant the Chagossians a say over their islands’ transfer to Mauritius, which they almost universally oppose.

Starmer’s Labour Party government had argued that transferring Chagos to Mauritius is unavoidable, due to an International Court of Justice (ICJ) ruling in Mauritius’ favor. However, the ICJ ruling was advisory and non-binding, with Britain under no legal obligation to not just surrender the islands but also pay Mauritius for the privilege of doing so. Notably, Starmer’s negotiator, Attorney General Richard Hermer, despises the British Empire and supports reparations, and worked with Philippe Sands, a British lawyer assisting Mauritius in its claims, for ten years.

Sands is also a personal friend of Starmer, who is a left-wing human rights lawyer by background, with many suspecting the trio’s motivation in putting together a Chagos deal so lopsided against Britain’s national interests stemmed from their personal, “anti-imperialist” politics.

Mauritius is over 1,000 miles from Chagos, and it has no Mauritian population.

Despite Mayes’s false claim that ICE agents are not “real law enforcement,” it is a congressionally authorized federal law enforcement agency within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and has the full powers of any other federal law enforcement agency.

In addition to her false claim regarding ICE’s law status, Mayes also bizarrely threatened to prosecute ICE agents for infractions under Arizona law, despite the constitutional principle of federal supremacy.

Infamous drug trafficker, Sinaloa Cartel associate, and former Olympic snowboarder Ryan Wedding has been arrested after being added to the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list last year. A Canadian national, Wedding is accused of running a major drug network that smuggled cocaine from Colombia through Mexico into the United States. In addition, Wedding, 44, is accused of orchestrating several brutal murders to protect his drug trafficking interests.

Federal law enforcement believes that Wedding was hiding in Mexico under the protection of the Sinaloa Cartel prior to his arrest. FBI Director Kash Patel formally announced the Olympian’s capture on Friday.

Wedding is accused of taking out a “multimillion-dollar bounty” targeting a federal witness against him last November. The FBI also contends that Wedding, along with his alleged second-in-command, Andrew Clark, 34, ordered the killings of two members of a Canadian family in 2023 as retaliation for a stolen drug shipment. The pair is further accused of directing the killing of another person in 2024 over an unresolved drug debt.

In 2002, Ryan Wedding represented Canada during the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah. However, by 2024, the athlete found himself criminally charged by the U.S. government for overseeing a sprawling cocaine smuggling operation which used semi-trucks to transport narcotics from Colombia—using routes through Mexico—destined for sale in the United States and Canada.

Last November, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi announced additional charges against Wedding, including two counts of murder involving the deaths of two witnesses in Colombia that were part of a federal extradition proceeding against him. He was previously convicted in the United States in 2010 on conspiracy to distribute cocaine.

Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Kash Patel has ordered the removal of a number of senior figures at the bureau who were either involved in or helped spearhead politically motivated actions against President Donald J. Trump. It is believed that senior field office leaders in Atlanta and New Orleans, as well as the acting assistant director overseeing the New York field office, were among those removed. Several of the agents have already filed lawsuits to attempt to prevent their removal.

Additionally, as many as six agents in Miami, Florida, were reportedly forced out due to their involvement in the FBI’s raid on Mar-a-Lago, which included authorization to use deadly force. Other agents removed were tied to the Biden-era Arctic Frost scandal, a corrupt investigation overseen by former FBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge Timothy Thibault and, subsequently, by special counsel Jack Smith.

News of the firings follows Jack Smith testifying before the House Judiciary Committee on Capitol Hill. He was pressed on several instances of overreach, including the subpoenaing of phone toll records pertaining to then House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), who was bizarrely considered a flight risk.

On Thursday, Smith admitted that he expects to be indicted for his role in Arctic Frost, and was unable to explain why his investigative team considered McCarthy—who was the newly elected House Speaker—to be a possible risk for fleeing the country.

While Democrats have routinely called Smith the “Gold Standard” of federal prosecutors, Representative Tom Tiffany (R-WI) noted that the former special counsel’s most high-profile cases against American political figures have either been thrown out by the Supreme Court, ended in mistrials, or, in the case of President Trump, dismissed.

In his address at the World Economic Forum, Trump noted that the U.S. has previously targeted Iranian uranium enrichment facilities to prevent nuclear weapon development, and that strikes will be repeated if Iran continues its enrichment efforts.

Iranian military leaders have issued warnings to the U.S. and Israel, with General Mohammad Pakpour of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claiming the country is ready for conflict. U.S. District Court Judge William G. Young, 85, ruled that the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) and the Middle East Studies Association (MESA) have continually had their members’ First Amendment rights violated by federal officials by being targeted for deportation over their support of Hamas or similar terrorist groups. Further, as remediation, Judge Young barred the federal government from deporting AAUP and MESA members without the groups’ permission and final approval by a federal judge.

“This Court ruled that the Plaintiffs American Association of University Professors (‘AAUP’) and their associate chapters, and the Middle East Studies Association (‘MESA’) have shown by clear and convincing evidence that Secretaries [Kristi] Noem and [Marco] Rubio have intentionally and in concert implemented Executive Orders in 14161 and 14188 a viewpoint-discriminatory way to chill protected speech that ‘violated the First Amendment,'” the judge wrote.

Young goes on to say, “Any non-citizen member of the plaintiffs AAUP or MESA, who was a member on or after March 25, 2025, and continued as a member through September 30, 2025, shall have a right to institute a proceeding (‘Sanction Action’) in the United States District Court…”

While Judge Young’s ruling is unlikely to stand on appeal, it marks one of the most radical rulings ever against federal immigration law and the executive branch’s ability to enforce it. Not only does Young ignore the jurisdiction of the U.S. Immigration Court system—an error highlighted in a separate case that The National Pulse reported on last week—he makes the drastic move of essentially granting two private nonprofit groups, the AAUP and MESA, veto power over deportation proceedings unless a federal district court judge approves the deportation.
