Erika Kirk will attend the State of the Union address on Tuesday evening as a special guest of President Donald J. Trump. According to the White House, the President will use the occasion to highlight the spiritual revival that has taken place in the United States since the assassination of her late husband, Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA (TPUSA), in September 2025.
President Trump will emphasize the “tremendous revival of faith, Christianity, and belief in God in our country” since the tragedy, says a White House official. The President will also reaffirm that America is “one nation under God” and urge Congress to “firmly reject political violence against our fellow citizens.”
Erika Kirk has since taken over the leadership of TPUSA, fulfilling her late husband’s wishes. She has called on Americans to draw closer to Jesus Christ and live by the values her husband championed.
The accused gunman, Tyler Robinson, has been charged with the murder. Robinson lived with his “transgender partner,” Lance Twiggs, who was undergoing a transition in an attempt to appear female. The National Pulse reported earlier on Tuesday that Utah Judge Tony Graf denied a motion by Robinson’s defense attorneys to disqualify the Utah County Attorney’s Office from prosecuting the case. The defense argued that a conflict of interest existed because the daughter of one of the attorneys in the prosecutor’s office was present at the Utah college campus where the assassination occurred.
Other guests of President Trump will include the parents of Sarah Beckstrom, the West Virginia National Guard member who was killed by Afghan national Rahmanullah Lakanwal in a terrorist ambush attack in Washington, D.C., last November.
