Sources say Former First Lady Michelle Obama is not campaigning for Joe Biden because the Biden family mistreated Hunter Biden’s ex-wife, Kathleen Buhle. Buhle and Mrs. Obama have maintained a friendship since Barack Obama’s presidency.
Buhle’s 2022 memoir and 2017 divorce filings detailed Hunter Biden’s adultery and drug abuse. She also participated in the First Son’s recent federal gun trial, which ended in a guilty verdict.
Axios sources say the Biden family “deeply resented” Buhle’s memoir. The Bidens are still in a legal dispute with her over $1.7 million to $2.9 million in unpaid alimony and legal fees. Michelle Obama is said to be “frustrated” with the Biden family’s treatment of Buhle, considering she is the victim of Hunter’s serial infidelity, which often involved the use of prostitutes and put Buhele’s health at risk.
A Biden spokesman claims “the Biden and Obama families are like family,” dismissing reports of a rift—but a representative of Mrs. Obama was more equivocal, saying the former first lady supports Biden’s re-election while stressing her friendship with Buhle.
“Two things can be true,” they said.
In her memoir, Buhle detailed how Hunter attempted to conceal his alcoholism and grew irate when confronted. She also recounted discovering Hunter’s affair with his dead brother Beau’s widow, Hallie.
While Joe Biden portrays himself as a family man, he is ruthless with the women in Hunter’s life. Until July 2023, he refused to acknowledge the existence of his granddaughter Navy, born to a stripper with whom Hunter had an affair, despite a court-ordered paternity test proving Hunter’s paternity.
“I have six grandchildren, and I’m crazy about them, and I speak to them every single day,” the Democrat bragged in April 2023, despite the fact he has seven grandchildren including Navy.
