Venezuelan national Jose Ibarra has been found guilty on all ten counts—including malice murder, felony murder, and kidnapping—for the death of 22-year-old Georgia nursing student Laken Riley. The next step in his trial will be sentencing for his crime.
Ibarra waived a jury trial, with his defense team opting instead for a judge to render a verdict in the case. That judge handed down a unanimous guilty verdict on Wednesday. The National Pulse reported on Tuesday that during testimony, it was revealed that Ibarra and others were flown from New York City to Georgia on so-called ‘humanitarian’ flights paid for by the Biden-Harris government.
The Venezuelan illegal immigrant—who is suspected of having ties to the violent gang Tren de Aragua—murdered American citizen Laken Riley on February 22, 2024, as she jogged on dirt trails on the University of Georgia campus in Athens. At the start of his trial, Ibarra pleaded not guilty to the crimes. His attorneys attempt to implicate his brother—to no avail—as the perpetrator instead.
Ibarra faces the possibility of life in prison with no parole.
