Donald J. Trump is being inaugurated as the 47th President of the United States of America at the Capitol Rotunda in Washington D.C., becoming only the second man to serve two non-consecutive presidential terms in American history. The last was the late President Grover Cleveland, who served as the 22nd President from 1885 to 1889 and as the 24th President from 1893 to 1897.
President Trump and his 2024 running mate, Vice President J.D. Vance, are being inaugurated in the Capitol Rotunda, located in the center of the United States Capitol. The late President Ronald Reagan was also sworn in for his second term at the Rotunda in 1985; then, as of now, the decision to move the ceremony indoors was made due to inclement weather. “There is an Arctic blast sweeping the Country. I don’t want to see people hurt, or injured, in any way,” Trump said of the decision last week.
The Oath of Office of the President of the United States:
“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”
