SpaceX Set to Make $2B from Trump’s Golden Dome Missile Defense Shield.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: SpaceX is set to receive $2 billion for developing satellites for the Golden Dome project.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: SpaceX, President Donald J. Trump, and Elon Musk.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The report surfaced on October 31, 2025, following a bill signed in July 2025.

🎯IMPACT: SpaceX’s involvement in U.S. defense is expected to grow, potentially reviving its relationship with President Trump.

IN FULL

Elon Musk’s SpaceX is reportedly set to receive $2 billion from the U.S. government to develop satellites for the Golden Dome project, aimed at tracking missiles and aircraft. This funding, part of the One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB) Act signed by President Trump in July, was not initially linked to any specific contractor, with SpaceX only recently believed to have won the contract.

The Golden Dome project, announced by Trump in May 2025, is a proposed missile defense system that combines space-based sensors with ground-based radars and missiles. The project has a budget of $175 billion and could eventually include up to 600 satellites.

SpaceX is also expected to contribute significantly to two other Pentagon satellite projects: Milnet, for military communications, and another network for tracking ground vehicles. Other companies, such as Anduril Industries and traditional defense contractors, have also proposed technologies for the initiative.

The National Pulse reported in April that Musk’s SpaceX was a leading candidate to win the Golden Dome contract, at least in terms of developing the satellite infrastructure. Other contractors likely to be involved include Palantir and Anduril. SpaceX, valued at $400 billion, has already launched over 10,000 satellites for its Starlink service, demonstrating its capability in satellite deployment.

SpaceX’s contract also suggests that Musk and President Trump have likely mended fences after the two had a falling out earlier this year.

Trump Secures Marine Veteran’s Release from Russian Detention.

Robert Gilman, a U.S. military veteran detained in Russia since 2022, has been freed and is now receiving medical care in Texas.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: Robert Gilman, a 32-year-old American military veteran, has been released from Russian custody after spending over four years in prison under reportedly abusive conditions. He is now in Texas receiving medical and psychological treatment, according to advocacy group Global Reach.
📺 DETAIL: Gilman was sentenced in 2022 for allegedly assaulting a police officer and later faced additional charges relating to alleged attacks on investigators, prison inspectors, and guards, extending his prison term to ten years. Reports claim he endured forced exercise, psychotropic drug administration, and harassment, with Russian authorities allegedly pressuring him to fight in Ukraine. He was reportedly in a “dissociative stupor” before being transferred to a civilian hospital.
💬 KEY QUOTE: “I am so grateful to President Trump for saving my brother’s life. There is no other reason that Robert is alive today other than that President Trump heard about the case and took action.” – Lexie Hudson, Gilman’s sister
🎯 IMPACT: Gilman’s release highlights ongoing issues with American citizens detained abroad, with at least eight Americans still in Russian custody.
📺 FLASHBACK: In recent years, U.S.-Russia prisoner exchanges have brought attention to the plight of Americans detained in Russia, including high-profile cases involving athletes and journalists.

UK PM Burnham Plans to Put Male Criminals in Women’s Prisons to Ease Overcrowding.

British Prime Minister Andy Burnham has outlined a new plan to address critical overcrowding in prisons, which includes placing male criminals in women’s prisons.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: British Prime Minister Andy Burnham proposed putting male inmates in female prisons on Tuesday, to ease Britain’s prison overcrowding crisis.
💬 KEY QUOTE: “It will be based on a range of options including the three strands of further work I asked him to initiate last week: increasing the rate of removal of foreign national offenders from the prison estate to their country of origin; finding an early resolution to the long-running injustice of IPP [Imprisonment for Public Protection] sentences, which could allow for the release of lower-risk prisoners; and making greater use of the entire prison estate including using the female estate for male offenders.” – Prime Minister Andy Burnham
📺 DETAIL: The proposal comes as the Prime Minister faces pressure to exclude Police Constable (PC) Andrew Harper’s killers from the government’s early release scheme. The scheme is designed to reduce overcrowding by allowing inmates who have served just 40 percent of their sentence to request early release. The scheme includes those convicted of manslaughter, such as the killers of PC Harper, who was dragged to death behind a car after responding to a burglary. “I understand the depth of public concern about the potential early release of those involved with the killing of PC Andrew Harper – and I share it,” said Prime Minister Burnham, who confirmed that his plans to reduce overcrowding include “making greater use of the entire prison estate including using the female estate for male offenders.
🎯 IMPACT: As the British prison system as a whole is operating at 99 percent capacity, the crisis has become acute, although critics of the Labour Party government believe it should be securing additional spaces, as it does with illegal migrant accommodation, rather than releasing criminals early. The introduction of male inmates into female prisons, which are also nearing maximum capacity, has the potential to spark safety concerns.
📺 FLASHBACK: Earlier this month, the Police Federation, an organization representing rank-and-file police officers, threatened to take the British government to court if PC Harper’s killers were released early.

Islamic Extremist Slits Police Officer’s Throat.

Two police officers were injured in Toulouse, France, after a man shouting “Allahu Akbar” attacked them with multiple knives during a patrol.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: A man was subdued after shouting “Allahu Akbar” and attacked two police officers, one of whom was female, in France.
📺 DETAIL: On Monday, a man attacked two police officers with a knife in the Wilson district of Toulouse, France. The officers were on patrol when a man slashed one of the officers in the throat with a knife. The female officer was also stabbed three times. The attacker shouted “Allahu Akbar” during the incident, according to local police reports. The attacker pulled out two additional knives after dropping his first, but was subsequently restrained after being subdued by police with telescopic batons. The officer who was slashed in the neck required stitches, while the female officer avoided serious injury due to her bulletproof vest.
💬 KEY QUOTE: “[The officers came within] a hair’s breadth of the worst,” said Emilion Esnault, a French local politician, describing the attack.
🎯 IMPACT: An investigation into the attack is ongoing. Local police have also been ordered to remain on high alert until further notice. The fact that the attacker shouted “Allahu Akbar” suggests an Islamist motive. This represents a recurring problem in France, which has experienced multiple Islamist attacks this year. Back in July, a man claimed “it is Allah who ordered me” after stabbing three women in Paris. The three women, one of whom was pregnant, sustained non-lethal injuries. Such attacks are likely to drive support for parties offering a tough law and order stance, measures to bolster national security, immigration restrictions, and anti-Islamist policies, particularly Marine Le Pen’s National Rally (RN). This is far from solely a French problem, however, as other European countries have suffered similar attacks throughout the year. Also in July, Berlin Pride in Germany was hit by an Islamist attack that left one dead and at least 29 injured. The attacker was known for a “high volume of criminal offenses, radicalization, and affiliation with the Islamist scene,“ according to German officials.

Trump Admin Drafts Visa Reforms to Reduce Displacement of American Workers by Imported Labor.

Federal agencies are proposing significant changes to visa programs, aiming to protect American workers and address growing public concern over the displacement of local professionals by foreign labor.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: The Department of Homeland Security and Department of Labor have unveiled draft regulations that would tighten visa programs, including H-1B and F-1 student visas, to prioritize American workers. Proposed changes include higher corporate fees, shorter grace periods for fired foreign workers, and stricter oversight of third-party staffing firms.
📺 DETAIL: The proposed rules also seek to modernize the PERM labor certification process, ensuring American workers are given priority in hiring and addressing layoffs more effectively. Critics of the visa programs argue that they depress wages, displace American workers, and foster job monopolies within certain ethnic networks. Public opposition to these programs has grown in recent years, with unemployment and underemployment rates for U.S. college graduates remaining high, including 26 percent for computer science graduates.
🎯 IMPACT: If implemented, the reforms could significantly reduce reliance on foreign labor, encourage companies to invest in American talent, and potentially sway voters ahead of the midterm elections. However, big business, including lobbying groups like FWD.us, is expected to push back against these measures, given the rewards it reaps from undercutting American workers by importing foreign workers.
📈 DATA: According to the New York Federal Reserve Bank, the combined unemployment and underemployment rate for recent U.S. college graduates is approximately 40 percent, highlighting the need for increased job opportunities for American graduates and professionals.
📺 FLASHBACK: The 60-day grace period for fired foreign workers was introduced in 2017 under the Obama-Biden administration, enabling many visa holders to remain in the U.S. and switch jobs, often to the detriment of American workers.

Judge Blocks Mamdani’s Wealth Tax on Second Homes.

A Staten Island court has paused New York City’s new tax on high-value second homes, citing legal challenges from affected homeowners.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: Staten Island Supreme Court Justice Wayne Ozzi temporarily blocked New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s so-called pied-à-terre tax targeting second homes valued at $5 million or more. The judge’s order halts implementation of the tax until at least August 31, when a court hearing is scheduled, as legal challenges from homeowners proceed.
📺 DETAIL: The city had published a list of properties subject to the tax, but homeowners argued that the rollout was riddled with errors, causing “mass confusion.” Notices were sent to some homeowners incorrectly, and others were threatened that they would face the tax unless they filed for exemptions. The lawsuit claims the city disregarded state data in its assessments. The city must now remove the online list of targeted homes as part of the court’s ruling.
💬 KEY QUOTE: “We disagree with today’s ruling, but we are confident in both the pied-à-terre surcharge and the City’s ability to implement it fairly and effectively.” – Matt Rauschenbach, spokesman for Mayor Zohran Mamdani
🎯 IMPACT: The ruling delays the tax’s implementation and forces the city to reassess its approach amid legal scrutiny. Homeowners argue the tax rollout was unjust and poorly executed, while city officials maintain it is a fair way to generate revenue from wealthy property owners. Mamdani plans to appeal the ruling and proceed with the tax’s implementation.
📺 FLASHBACK: The pied-à-terre tax—a pied-à-terre being an apartment, condominium, or small house in a city lived in part-time—was introduced as part of a broader effort by socialist Mayor Mamdani to redistribute wealth, particularly from white people, and fund city services, which are losing funding as wealthier residents flee New York.

DOJ Secures Agreement with Children’s Hospital to Stop Giving Sex Change Drugs to Minors.

The Department of Justice reached a resolution with Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, ending its administration of sex change drugs to minors and imposing financial penalties.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: Connecticut Children’s Medical Center has agreed to stop administering sex change drugs to minors as part of a resolution with the Department of Justice (DOJ).
📺 DETAIL: The agreement also includes a financial penalty and a $500,000 commitment to medical care for individuals harmed by the sex change treatments provided by the center. The resolution stems from a DOJ investigation into alleged violations of federal law regarding the use of sex change drugs and surgeries on minors. The center continues to deny the allegations but has “remained cooperative, proactive, and solution-driven” throughout the investigation, according to the DOJ. “As with Texas Children’s and Cleveland Clinic before it, I am encouraged when leading institutions like Connecticut Children’s agree to be part of the solution and no longer the problem… But while we can be grateful when we arrive at such positive resolutions, we cannot and will not rest in our pursuit of justice for the victims of these discredited practices,” said Brett Shumate, Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Division.
💬 KEY QUOTE: “The Department of Justice will stop at nothing to protect America’s children. This resolution is a reminder to hospitals, medical providers, and pharmaceutical companies that the Justice Department will vigorously enforce federal law, especially where the lives of children are endangered.” – Associate Attorney General Stanley Woodward.
🎯 IMPACT: This resolution signals a broader DOJ effort to end harmful medical gender-related practices affecting minors and hold the institutions engaged in such practices accountable. The resolution ensures against prolonged litigation between the federal government and the medical center.
📺 FLASHBACK: This story reflects similar cases from earlier in 2026. Back in May, Ken Paxton, Texas State Attorney General and Republican Senate candidate for Texas, facilitated a multi-million dollar settlement between Texas Children’s Hospital, the largest children’s hospital in the United States, and the state of Texas. The $10 million settlement ended the provision of so-called “gender affirming care” at the hospital, among other wins for the Trump agenda.

President Trump Unveils ‘Gold Standard’ Vaccine Guidelines for Children.

President Trump’s new Executive Order reduces the number of recommended childhood vaccines while emphasizing parental choice and alignment with scientific standards used by peer nations.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: President Donald J. Trump signed an Executive Order introducing the “Gold Standard Childhood Vaccine Recommendations,” reducing the number of routine childhood vaccines from 18 to 11 and emphasizing parental choice in immunization decisions. The Order also recommends separating the MMR vaccine into three single-disease shots and recommends administering vaccines during separate medical visits for greater flexibility.
📺 DETAIL: The Executive Order aligns U.S. vaccine recommendations with those of peer nations, following a 2026 Health and Human Services (HHS) assessment that found the U.S. recommends significantly more vaccines than other developed countries. Immunizations that are no longer universally recommended are now subject to shared clinical decision-making, ensuring that parents and doctors can tailor choices to children’s individual needs.
💬 KEY QUOTE: “[I]t is the policy of my Administration that Federal programs and funding should support maximal parental choice over childhood vaccines, consistent with the Federal Government’s constitutional and statutory obligations and the fundamental principles of personal autonomy and informed consent.” – President Donald J. Trump
🎯 IMPACT: The Order aims to rebuild public trust in childhood vaccines by reducing mandates and promoting education, a strategy successfully employed by peer nations. It also directs HHS to continuously evaluate vaccine risks and benefits, ensuring recommendations are based on the latest scientific evidence, and directs the Department of Justice to take legal action against states infringing on parents’ right to decide whether the possible risks of vaccinations outweigh any potential benefits.
📺 FLASHBACK: In 2025, President Trump launched the “Make Our Children Healthy Again” initiative to address rising childhood chronic diseases, including a focus on vaccine policy reform.

Trump Demands Reparations from Iran for American Casualties.

President Trump has instructed U.S. negotiators to demand reparations from Iran for Americans harmed by the regime, countering Tehran’s calls for compensation over recent conflicts.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: President Donald J. Trump has instructed American negotiators to demand reparations from Iran for the Americans killed and wounded by the regime, mirroring the Islamic Republic’s own demands for compensation. The President issued the demand after Iranian officials reportedly called for Washington to pay out for the damage inflicted on Iran during the five-month war as a condition for reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
📺 DETAIL: Iran has reportedly demanded an end to U.S. military operations and sanctions, compensation for wartime damage, the release of frozen Iranian assets, and the withdrawal of U.S. forces from the region. Tehran has also called for an end to American attacks on its regional allies as part of its conditions for fully reopening Hormuz. A major global energy shipping route, the strait has remained a key flashpoint amid the standoff. Trump said Sunday that Washington was “low-keying” its approach to Iran and was only “semi-negotiating,” signaling that his administration may allow economic pressure to build rather than immediately launch another major military operation.
💬 KEY QUOTE: “I see that representatives of the Islamic Republic of Iran are asking for compensation… [I]t is an interesting idea because now I am likewise demanding compensation from Iran for all of the people that they have killed and gravely wounded.” – President Donald J. Trump
🎯 IMPACT: The U.S. demand for reparations adds a new layer to the tensions between Washington and Tehran, putting pressure on the Iranian regime to address its history of violence against Americans. With the Strait of Hormuz being a vital energy corridor, the ongoing standoff has significant implications for global energy markets.

Fauci Texts Reveal Concerns About COVID Vaccines and Miscarriages.

Newly released text messages show Dr. Anthony Fauci and top officials discussing potential risks of mRNA COVID-19 vaccines for pregnant women, raising questions about transparency and informed consent.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: Newly released text messages show that Dr. Anthony Fauci privately discussed potential concerns about mRNA COVID-19 vaccines for pregnant women in January 2021, including whether fever and cytokine-related symptoms following a second dose could theoretically increase the risk of miscarriage during the first trimester. The exchange involved Fauci, then-CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky, and Dr. Vivek Murthy, who later served as U.S. Surgeon General, according to documents released by Senators Ron Johnson (R-WI) and Rand Paul (R-KY).
📺 DETAIL: Murthy initially asked whether vaccination should be given earlier or later in pregnancy and whether officials had identified adverse outcomes among vaccinated pregnant women. Fauci responded that there was no data or theoretical basis to favor vaccination at one stage of pregnancy over another and rejected concerns that mRNA vaccines could alter human genes, but later raised the possibility that fever after a second dose could theoretically be associated with miscarriage in the first trimester. Walensky acknowledged the concern, while Murthy said he had also heard concerns about potential effects on developing babies. The following day, Fauci said officials needed to weigh the potential risks of vaccination against the risks posed by COVID-19, noting that more than 10,000 pregnant women had supposedly been vaccinated without issues and that federal and medical guidance allowed pregnant women to choose vaccination. The senators said the messages could have implications for public health and informed consent, while noting that the large collection of records, including roughly 34,000 text messages and 522 voicemails, remained under review.
💬 KEY QUOTE: “Theoretically could be associated with miscarriage in the 1st trimester.” – Dr. Anthony Fauci
🎯 IMPACT: The release of these messages raises questions about transparency and whether proper informed consent was provided to pregnant women regarding vaccine risks.
📺 FLASHBACK: At the time, guidance from the FDA and the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) allowed pregnant women to choose vaccination. However, the World Health Organization (WHO) had initially advised against Moderna’s vaccine for pregnant women due to limited data.

DOT Sec Duffy Mandates English Proficiency for Truckers to Get Dangerous Migrants Off America’s Highways.

The Department of Transportation has announced a new rule to permanently enforce English proficiency standards for commercial truck drivers, reversing Barack Obama-era policies that weakened such requirements.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: The Department of Transportation (DOT) has announced plans to mandate permanent English proficiency for commercial truck drivers following a spate of deadly crashes involving foreign drivers.
📺 DETAIL: Secretary for Transportation Sean Duffy announced the changes in a post on X (formerly Twitter). “Today, I am proposing to lock English proficiency rules into federal regulations FOR GOOD — so no future administration can ever undo them… Barack Obama weakened this rule and allowed illegal truckers onto our highways, but THAT IS NOT HAPPENING AGAIN,” Secretary Duffy declared. The post included a video of a trucker failing to identify road signs due to not being able to speak or read English. This follows the removal of over 26,000 unqualified drivers from the roads under the tightened standards introduced by the DOT. “The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) is moving to codify guidelines that enforce English Language Proficiency (ELP) requirements for commercial motor vehicle (CMV) drivers into a new rule,” noted the DOT. This also follows an executive order signed by President Donald J. Trump in April last year stating: “Drivers need to provide feedback to their employers and customers and receive related directions in English. This is common sense.
💬 KEY QUOTE: “Federal law is clear, drivers who can’t read or speak English — our national language — or understand road signs are unqualified to operate 80,000-pound big rigs on America’s highways. By making these commonsense English proficiency standards permanent, we are closing a dangerous loophole that has cost Americans their lives. The Trump Administration is committed to putting American families first and ensuring the safety of our roads,” said Secretary Duffy.
🎯 IMPACT: This represents a reversal of Obama administration policy, which was itself a reversal of a standard imposed in 1937. This should ensure that truck drivers can read signs, follow safety protocols, and communicate with law enforcement when required. This rule is also likely to favor American, English-speaking workers in securing jobs over low-wage migrants.
📺 FLASHBACK: In December last year, it was reported that the DOT had disqualified over 9,500 commercial truck drivers for failing English-language proficiency checks.
