Far-Left UK Govt Halts Intel Sharing with US Over Trump’s Anti-Cartel Strikes.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: The British government has ceased sharing intelligence with the U.S. regarding drug trafficking boats in the Caribbean, citing concerns over the legality of American military strikes against them.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: British and American governments, Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua, other cartels, and President Donald J. Trump.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Britain, concerning operations in international waters in the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean.

💬KEY QUOTE: “There were massive amounts of drugs coming into our country to kill a lot of people, and everybody fully understands that.” – Donald Trump

🎯IMPACT: The decision to halt intelligence sharing highlights tensions between allies over military actions targeting drug traffickers.

IN FULL

The British government under Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has suspended intelligence sharing with the United States over operations targeting drug-trafficking boats in the Caribbean and Pacific, claiming concerns about the legality of a series of lethal American strikes in international waters. The decision comes after a September operation that killed 11 people and targeted alleged members of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua, followed by many more.

For years, the United Kingdom has provided intelligence to support U.S. efforts to track and intercept narcotics shipments across the Caribbean. However, officials in London have reportedly questioned whether recent strikes comply with international law. At least 76 people are believed to have died in these U.S. operations since early 2025.

President Donald J. Trump, who has defended the campaign, said of the narco-terrorists killed in the strikes, “Obviously, they won’t do it again. There were massive amounts of drugs coming into our country to kill a lot of people, and everybody fully understands that.” Secretary of State Marco Rubio has echoed that sentiment, saying in September, “Blow them up, get rid of them.”

Globalist United Nations (UN) High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk has condemned the strikes as “extrajudicial killing.” The U.S. government, which notably has not signed the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, maintains that its actions are lawful under its designation of Tren de Aragua as a Foreign Terrorist Organization.

$100 Million Ukraine Corruption Scandal: Zelensky Ally Flees to Israel Amid Police Raids.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Ukrainian security forces raided the apartment of businessman Timur Mindich, a close associate of President Volodymyr Zelensky, as part of a $100 million corruption investigation. Mindich fled the country hours before the raid. Justice Minister Herman Halushchenko has also been targeted, and is now suspended as the investigation unfolds.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Timur Mindich, President Volodymyr Zelensky, Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU), and Justice Minister Herman Halushchenko.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Investigations began in 2024; raids and searches were conducted recently in Ukraine, with Mindich reportedly fleeing to Israel.

💬KEY QUOTE: “All effective measures against corruption are crucial. The certainty of punishment is essential.” – President Volodymyr Zelensky

🎯IMPACT: The raids highlight Ukraine’s ongoing corruption issues, increasing pressure on Zelensky’s administration as public dissatisfaction grows.

IN FULL

Ukrainian law enforcement officers have raided the apartment of businessman Timur Mindich, a close associate of President Volodymyr Zelensky, as part of a $100 million corruption investigation conducted by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU). Mindich fled the country just hours before the raid, reportedly traveling to Israel, raising suspicions that he may have been tipped off.

According to NABU, the investigation, code-named “Midas”, was the result of a 15-month operation involving more than 1,000 hours of wiretapping and 70 raids across Ukraine. Investigators allege that a criminal group created a large-scale corruption network within Energoatom, the state-owned nuclear energy producer. The group is accused of forcing suppliers to pay kickbacks of 10 to 15 percent of contract values to ensure prompt payments and retain their supplier status.

“Particular attention was paid to cryptocurrencies. Most operations, including cash withdrawals, took place outside Ukraine. For example, during foreign delegations of representatives of state bodies and the management of state-owned energy sector enterprises,” NABU stated.

NABU confirmed that Justice Minister Herman Halushchenko was also among those targeted by searches, and he has since been suspended pending further investigation.

Mindich, once a business partner and long-time friend of Zelensky, co-owned the entertainment company Kvartal 95 with him. Zelensky divested his shares after taking office in 2019. Mindich has also been linked to Ukrainian oligarch Ihor Kolomoisky, another Zelensky associate and prominent sponsor, and reportedly provided Zelensky with an armored car during his election campaign These connections have amplified political scrutiny of the president.

“All effective measures against corruption are crucial. The certainty of punishment is essential,” Zelensky said in response to the raids.

The case has intensified public frustration over corruption in Ukraine. A recent survey found that 77.6 percent of Ukrainians hold Zelensky personally responsible for persistent graft. The raid follows a summer of turmoil in Kiev after the government’s controversial attempt to curb the independence of key anti-corruption institutions.

In July, protests erupted nationwide after parliament moved to place NABU and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) under the Zelensky-appointed Prosecutor General’s oversight, a step critics said would neuter the agencies’ autonomy. Following several days of mass demonstrations and international condemnation, lawmakers reversed the decision.

The political fallout has drawn international attention. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán opposes Ukraine’s bid for European Union (EU) membership due to widespread corruption and democratic backsliding.

Russian officials have sought to publicize the crisis, describing the raids and protests as signs of “panic” within Zelensky’s administration.

FDA Issues Recall for ADHD Medication.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Sun Pharmaceutical Industries issued a voluntary recall of several lots of lisdexamfetamine dimesylate capsules due to a quality control defect.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and millions of Americans on attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) medication.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The recall affects capsules with expiration dates ranging from February 2026 to May 2026, manufactured by Ohm Laboratories in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

💬KEY QUOTE: The FDA stated the recall was classified as Class II, meaning the defect “may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences.”

🎯IMPACT: Millions of ADHD patients may experience reduced therapeutic effects, potentially worsening symptoms like fatigue or concentration issues.

IN FULL

A major drug recall is underway, potentially impacting millions of Americans who are prescribed isdexamfetamine dimesylate capsules—a generic attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) treatment. Sun Pharmaceutical Industries initiated the voluntary recall.

Notably, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) classified the recall as Class II, indicating the defect “may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences,” though the risk of serious harm is remote. Patients are advised not to stop taking the medication without consulting their healthcare provider and to seek guidance for a safe replacement.

The recall includes 100-count bottles of 10 mg to 70 mg capsules with expiration dates ranging from February 2026 to May 2026. Affected batch numbers include AD42468, AD48705, AD42469, AD48707, AD42470, AD48708, AD48709, AD50894, AD48710, AD50895, AD48711, AD50896, AD48712, and AD50898.

Lisdexamfetamine dimesylate, commonly marketed under brand names like Vyvanse and Arynta, is prescribed to manage ADHD symptoms such as impulsiveness, disorganization, and difficulty focusing. Prescriptions for this medication have risen significantly, accounting for 19 percent of all stimulant prescriptions in 2023, with over nine million prescriptions dispensed that year.

The medication, manufactured by Ohm Laboratories in New Jersey, is a prodrug that becomes active only after being metabolized into dextroamphetamine, offering a smoother, longer-lasting effect.

Transurrection: Petition to Oust Schumer from Senate Leadership Hits 50,000 Signatures.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: A petition to remove Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has surpassed 50,000 signatures, following criticism of his leadership during recent legislative battles.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Transgender activist Charlotte Clymer (born Charles Clymer), Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), and several Democrat lawmakers, including Reps. Ro Khanna (D-CA) and Seth Moulton (D-MA).

📍WHEN & WHERE: The petition was launched in March 2023 and has gained momentum following a recent Senate vote on a continuing resolution to fund the government.

💬KEY QUOTE: “We need new leadership to meet this grave moment, and we need it now.” – Charlotte Clymer

🎯IMPACT: Growing calls for Schumer to step down, with at least 11 Democrat lawmakers, 15 organizations, and eight Democrat candidates supporting his removal.

IN FULL

A petition led by transgender activist Charlotte Clymer, formerly Charles Clymer, calling for the removal of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has surpassed 50,000 signatures, reflecting growing frustration with Democratic leadership. Clymer’s petition accuses Schumer of failing to effectively oppose President Donald J. Trump and tech billionaire Elon Musk, describing the 74-year-old Democrat’s leadership as “impotent” and lacking “a comprehensive plan or strategy to combat the efforts by Trump and Elon Musk to demolish the federal government and harm the American people.” In his statement accompanying the petition, Clymer wrote, “We need new leadership to meet this grave moment, and we need it now.”

The petition, launched in March after Schumer voted to advance a Republican continuing resolution (CR) funding bill, has regained momentum following a recent Senate vote on a similar funding measure. Though Schumer opposed the latest resolution, enough Senate Democrats joined Republicans to pass it, prompting backlash. The progressive group Indivisible has urged candidates to reject Schumer’s leadership and “abandon the status quo of feckless leadership.”

So far, 11 Democratic lawmakers, 15 organizations, and eight Democratic candidates have joined calls for Schumer to step aside. The protests organized under the “No Kings” movement have amplified these demands, framing them as part of a broader push for generational and ideological change in Senate leadership. Despite the mounting criticism, Schumer has insisted, “Look, I’m not stepping down.”

The growing rift over Schumer’s leadership mirrors wider divisions inside the Democratic Party. Earlier this year, anti-gun rights activist David Hogg attempted to launch a multi-million-dollar campaign aimed at challenging incumbent Democrats in safe districts who were not deemed woke enough.

Veteran strategist James Carville blasted Hogg’s effort, calling him a “contemptible little twerp” for targeting members of his own party. The controversy deepened when the Democratic National Committee (DNC) later voided Hogg’s appointment as vice chair, citing gender-parity rules that required him to be a woman.

U.S. Will Restrict Visas for Fat Foreigners Under New Health Guidelines.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: The U.S. State Department issued guidance recommending that fat people be denied immigrant visas.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: The U.S. State Department, foreign nationals, and the Trump administration.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Recent guidance issued by the State Department in the United States.

💬KEY QUOTE: “The Trump Administration is putting the interests of the American people first.” – State Department spokesman Tommy Pigott

🎯IMPACT: Stricter visa policies aim to reduce the strain on the US healthcare system and prioritize national security.

IN FULL

New guidance issued by the U.S. Department of State recommends the denial of immigrant visas for foreign nationals who are obese or overweight. According to the guidance, obesity—along with other medical conditions such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, and mental-health issues—adds strain to the country’s healthcare system, causing taxpayers to incur additional costs.

Notably, the health conditions listed by the State Department often result in skyrocketing healthcare expenses, sometimes upwards of hundreds of thousands of dollars, and prolonged hospital stays. “The Trump Administration is putting the interests of the American people first. This includes enforcing policies that ensure our immigration system is not a burden on the American taxpayer,” Tommy Pigott, a State Department spokesman, said.

The guidance is part of a broader effort to tighten visa policies. For instance, the cost of H-1B visas, intended for high-skilled workers, has risen to $100,000 annually. Previously, these visas came with administrative fees totaling approximately $2,000 to $4,000. While supporters like Elon Musk have endorsed the increase, critics complain that the policy harms corporate revenue and shareholder returns.

The State Department has also maintained travel restrictions on nationals from countries such as Afghanistan, Iran, and Yemen, among others. A senior State Department official noted, “The Department of State is committed to protecting our nation and its citizens by upholding the highest standards of national security and public safety through our visa process.”

Texas AG Paxton Files Lawsuit Against Nonprofit for Illegally Registering Immigrants to Vote.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) filed a lawsuit against JOLT Initiative, Inc., alleging unlawful voter registration practices involving illegal immigrants.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, JOLT Initiative, Inc., and its Executive Director Jackie Bastard.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The lawsuit was announced on Monday in Texas.

💬KEY QUOTE: “The left constantly tries to cheat and rig elections because they know they can’t win honestly. Any organization attempting to register illegals, who are all criminals, must be completely crushed and shut down immediately.” – Ken Paxton

🎯IMPACT: Paxton seeks to dissolve JOLT’s charter, revoke its corporate privileges, and have the group cover legal costs, while JOLT is vowing to fight the case.

IN FULL

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) has announced his office is suing JOLT Initiative, Inc., a nonprofit organization accused of orchestrating illegal voter registration efforts. The lawsuit alleges that JOLT engaged in activities designed to undermine election integrity in Texas by registering illegal immigrants to vote.

According to the attorney general’s office, JOLT operatives stationed outside Texas Department of Motor Vehicles locations provided instructions that violated state election laws. The group’s volunteer deputy registrars allegedly solicited people to submit unlawful voter registration applications, potentially enabling illegal immigrants without proper identification to register.

“The left constantly tries to cheat and rig elections because they know they can’t win honestly. Any organization attempting to register illegals, who are all criminals, must be completely crushed and shut down immediately,” Paxton said in a statement, adding: “JOLT is a radical, partisan operation that has, and continues to, knowingly attempt to corrupt our voter rolls and weaken the voice of lawful Texas voters. I will make sure they face the full force of the law.”

Paxton’s lawsuit seeks to have JOLT forfeit its corporate privileges, dissolve its charter, and pay the state’s legal fees. In response, JOLT described the lawsuit as “unconstitutional” and vowed to fight back. Executive Director Jackie Bastard stated, “The Attorney General is abusing his authority by using the state’s legal tool of dissolution, an extreme measure, against JOLT simply because we are effective at registering Latino voters.”

JOLT has filed a motion requesting the court to either dismiss the case or transfer it to Houston, where the organization has offices.

Newsom’s Former Chief of Staff Charged in Massive Corruption Scheme.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Dana Williamson, former chief of staff to Governor Gavin Newsom (D-CA), has been charged with public corruption by federal officials.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Dana Williamson, Greg Campbell, Sean McCluskie, and two others were named in the indictment.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The charges were announced on November 12, 2025, with an initial court appearance expected in Sacramento federal court.

💬KEY QUOTE: “Ms. Williamson no longer serves in this administration. While we are still learning details of the allegations, the Governor expects all public servants to uphold the highest standards of integrity.” – Newsom spokesman

🎯IMPACT: The indictment includes 23 counts, with potential penalties of up to 20 years in prison and $250,000 fines per charge.

IN FULL

Dana Williamson, who served as Governor Gavin Newsom‘s (D-CA) chief of staff until December 2024, has been arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and charged with public corruption. The charges, part of a federal indictment, accuse Williamson and her co-conspirators of engaging in a scheme involving wire and bank fraud.

The indictment names Greg Campbell, Sean McCluskie, and two others alongside Williamson, with allegations centering on a conspiracy to divert funds from the dormant political campaign of former Biden Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary and California Attorney General Xavier Becerra for personal use. The indictment outlines 23 counts, with each fraud charge carrying significant penalties.

Federal prosecutors claim that Williamson remained involved in the fraudulent activities even after transferring control to an unnamed co-conspirator upon joining the Newsom administration. The allegations include creating fake contracts and filing false tax returns to justify federal COVID loans.

The charges also detail Williamson’s alleged misuse of campaign funds, claiming personal expenses as business deductions, including luxury items and private jet travel. The indictment suggests a financial gain of approximately $225,000 from these activities.

A spokesman for Gov. Newsom emphasized that Williamson is no longer part of the administration. “Ms. Williamson no longer serves in this administration. While we are still learning details of the allegations, the Governor expects all public servants to uphold the highest standards of integrity,” the governor’s spokesman said.

Biden Judge Orders Release of 615 Migrants Caught in Chicago’s ‘Midway Blitz.’

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: A federal judge ordered the release of hundreds of illegal immigrants detained in the Chicago area, citing alleged violations of a 2022 settlement agreement restricting warrantless arrests.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: U.S. District Court Judge Jeffrey Cummings, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the National Immigrant Justice Center (NIJC), and detainees.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Illinois, with the ruling issued on Wednesday. Detentions occurred during Operation Midway Blitz between June and October.

💬KEY QUOTE: “All of this, all of the tactics of [senior Border Patrol official Gregory Bovino], all of the tactics of ICE have been unlawful in the vast, vast majority of arrests,” said NIJC attorney Mark Fleming.

🎯IMPACT: ICE must grant bond to those still detained by November 21.

IN FULL

U.S. District Court Judge Jeffrey Cummings, appointed by former President Joe Biden, is ordering the release of 615 illegal immigrants detained in the Chicago area as part of the Trump administration’s “Midway Blitz” enforcement action. In the order, Judge Cummings claims the detentions by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) violate a 2022 settlement agreement that restricts warrantless arrests in Chicago.

Court filings reveal that between June and October, the ICE-led operation resulted in the arrests of over 3,000 migrants, with 615 still in federal custody—the other detainees having already been deported or agreed to leave the country of their own accord. Judge Cummings’s ruling requires those still detained to be granted bond by November 21.

Mark Fleming, an attorney with the National Immigrant Justice Center (NIJC), stated, “All of this, all of the tactics of [senior Border Patrol official Gregory Bovino], all of the tactics of ICE have been unlawful in the vast, vast majority of arrests.” Fleming estimates that approximately 1,100 detainees have already departed voluntarily.

Far-left civil rights nonprofits claim ICE tactics are akin to racial profiling and have accused the agency of making unlawful arrests. One of the primary issues has been the practice of ICE arresting illegal immigrants at or near courthouses while on site to take other individuals into custody.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has until next week to comply with the court order and determine which detainees qualify for immediate release.

Is the U.S. Military Building a Base in Gaza?

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: The U.S. military has denied Israeli reports of plans to build a $500-million base near Gaza and stated that no American troops will be deployed to the territory.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), the Trump administration, Israeli officials, and media outlets, including Bloomberg and Ynet.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Claims emerged Tuesday, with CENTCOM issuing a denial on Wednesday. The alleged base was said to be near Gaza’s border.

💬KEY QUOTE: “To be clear, no U.S. troops will be deployed into Gaza. Any reporting to the contrary is false.” – Captain Tim Hawkins, CENTCOM spokesman

🎯IMPACT: The denial aims to prevent regional tensions and political backlash while clarifying the U.S. role in Gaza remains advisory and logistical.

IN FULL

The U.S. military is firmly denying reports suggesting it plans to build a $500-million base near Gaza. U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) issued a statement on Wednesday dismissing claims from Israeli media outlets that the Pentagon was preparing to establish a large installation to oversee postwar stabilization and reconstruction, emphasizing that no American troops will be deployed to the territory.

Reports from Israeli outlets such as Ynet and Shomrim on Tuesday alleged that the U.S. was planning to build a base capable of housing 10,000 personnel. However, CENTCOM spokesman Captain Tim Hawkins refuted the claims, stating, “Reports of the establishment of a U.S. military base near Gaza are inaccurate. To be clear, no U.S. troops will be deployed into Gaza. Any reporting to the contrary is false.”

The Trump administration has taken a central role in securing and maintaining a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, focusing on advisory and logistical support rather than direct military involvement. The U.S. has worked with regional partners to prevent renewed hostilities, emphasizing that any suggestion of a permanent American military presence near Gaza could escalate tensions.

Notably, the Israeli media reports appear to be based on a Bloomberg News story from Tuesday, which reported that the U.S. Navy had circulated a request for information regarding a potential temporary base near Gaza. The document sought cost estimates for a “self-sustaining military base of operations capable of supporting 10,000 personnel.” Bloomberg later clarified that the request was not a formal solicitation for bids, and the proposed facility would not necessarily house U.S. troops.

Currently, around 200 U.S. troops are stationed in Israel as part of the Civil-Military Coordination Center (CMCC), which coordinates humanitarian and security assistance into Gaza. Officials have reiterated that this presence is temporary and focused solely on logistical support. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt also dismissed the Bloomberg report, stating, “Such a plan has not been considered or approved by the highest levels of the United States government and should not be deemed as an official plan in the Middle East.”

DHS Alleges Democrat Senator’s Aide Impersonated Lawyer to Free Illegal Immigrant.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: A staffer for Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) allegedly posed as an attorney to attempt to release an illegal immigrant from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Edward York, a staffer for Sen. Duckworth, and Jose Ismeal Ayuzo Sandoval, a 40-year-old illegal immigrant with a criminal record.

📍WHEN & WHERE: October 29, at an ICE facility in East St. Louis, Illinois, with a letter sent to Sen. Duckworth by ICE Acting Director Todd Lyons on Wednesday, November 12, 2025.

💬KEY QUOTE: “This staff member allegedly did so to gain access to the detainee and seek his release from custody, and he accomplished it by falsifying an official Department of Homeland Security (DHS) form.” – ICE Acting Director Todd Lyons

🎯IMPACT: DHS is demanding answers from Sen. Duckworth’s office regarding York’s actions and whether other staff members were aware of his conduct.

IN FULL

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is accusing a staffer for Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) of misrepresenting himself as an attorney in an attempt to secure the release of an illegal immigrant from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody. According to a letter to Sen. Duckworth issued by ICE Acting Director Todd Lyons, the staffer, Edward York, entered an ICE facility in East St. Louis, Illinois, on October 29 and claimed to be the attorney for Jose Ismeal Ayuzo Sandoval, a 40-year-old illegal immigrant who has been deported four times and has a DUI conviction.

Lyons states York demanded to speak with his “client” and facilitated the signing of a G-28 form, which allows a lawyer to represent a client on immigration matters. “Four days later, a Suarez Law Office in Collinsville, Illinois filed a G-28 electronically that did not have Mr. Ayuzo’s signature, even though Mr. York, who claimed to work for the law firm, had already obtained a signed form. It appears as if Mr. York may have collaborated with the firm to cover his misrepresentation,” the ICE Acting Director alleges. Notably, ICE says it could not verify that York was a lawyer.

The letter also states that ICE discovered a Facebook post from the Montgomery County Illinois Democrats, which described a staffer visiting an ICE field office with documents and a release order, allegedly misrepresenting himself to law enforcement. Lyons has requested that Duckworth’s office respond by November 17, providing answers about York’s employment, whether he knowingly falsified government documents, and if other staff members were aware of his actions.

“I implore all members of the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate, as well as their staff, to stop the political games that put law enforcement and detainees at risk,” Lyons added. He urged Duckworth to advocate for constituents affected by illegal immigrant crime and to work with DHS to address these issues.

Mamdani Says He’ll Speak With Trump Before Assuming Office.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani (D) announced plans to call President Donald J. Trump before assuming office.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Zohran Mamdani, President Trump, and New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D).

📍WHEN & WHERE: Mamdani’s term begins on January 1, with discussions taking place in the lead-up to his inauguration.

💬KEY QUOTE: “I will be reaching out to the White House as we prepare to actually take office because this is a relationship that will be critical to the success of the city,” Mamdani said.

🎯IMPACT: The move suggests Mamdani may feel a need to at least appear somewhat cooperative with the Trump administration to avoid negative consequences for New York City.

IN FULL

New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani, a Democratic Socialist, revealed his intention to hold a call with President Donald J. Trump before officially taking office. The announcement was made during an interview on Tuesday.

“I will be proactive,” Mamdani said, outlining his approach to deter the federal government from deploying U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents or National Guardsmen to the city. He claimed he would make an effort to establish a working relationship with the White House.

“I will be reaching out to the White House as we prepare to actually take office because this is a relationship that will be critical to the success of the city,” Mamdani admitted. The Ugandan immigrant also shared that he has been in discussions with Governor Kathy Hochul (D-NY) about strategies to respond to potential federal actions by the Trump administration.

President Trump had previously threatened to cut federal funding to New York City if Mamdani were elected, citing his far-left policies. However, following Mamdani’s victory, Trump remarked that he would speak with the incoming mayor and “will help him a little bit, maybe.” Mamdani’s term begins on January 1.
