This New Year’s Eve, the Washington Monument will serve as the world’s tallest birthday candle, kicking off the countdown to America’s 250th birthday. Images projected will include Washington crossing the Delaware, the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the moon landing, and many more.

From December 31 to January 5, Freedom 250 will transform this iconic landmark into a breathtaking, projection-mapped experience. The event will narrate the story of our Nation’s discovery, sacrifice, independence, and future.

The festivities on New Year’s Eve will commence at 7:00 PM and continue until 12:06 AM, with fireworks lighting up the sky at midnight.

From January 1 to 5, the display will be available nightly from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Interested individuals can learn more and watch live at freedom250.org.
