Transgender Illegal Immigrant Receives Just Six Months in Prison for Sexually Assaulting Schoolboy.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: A transgender illegal migrant who admitted to sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy in New York received just a six-month prison sentence, sparking outrage over its leniency.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Nicol Alexandra Contreras-Suarez, a 31-year-old transgender Colombian illegal immigrant, the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, and the victim’s family.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The assault occurred in February 2025 in East Harlem, New York, with the plea deal approved in March 2026.

💬KEY QUOTE: “I didn’t know you could get six months on this… It’s generally a minimum of two [years] and a maximum of seven, so I think something must be wrong here.” – Seth Zuckerman, former prosecutor and criminal defense attorney

🎯IMPACT: Critics argue the sentence undermines justice for child victims and sends a concerning message about accountability for serious crimes.

IN FULL

A lax sentence given to Nicol Alexandra Contreras-Suarez, a transgender illegal migrant from Colombia, is sparking outrage among New Yorkers. Contreras-Suarez was arrested last year for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy in a bodega bathroom in New York City; however, he was just given a six-month term in prison after reaching a plea agreement with the Manhattan District Attorney‘s Office.

Seth Zuckerman, a former prosecutor in the Brooklyn DA’s Office and now a criminal defense lawyer, expressed disbelief at the outcome. “I didn’t know you could get six months on this,” he said, adding, “It’s generally a minimum of two [years] and a maximum of seven, so I think something must be wrong here.” Zuckerman noted that clients in similar cases typically do not receive such favorable deals.

The defendant, who has already served the six-month term while detained at Rikers Island since February 2025, was also wanted in New Jersey and Massachusetts for violent offenses and was subject to immigration enforcement detainers. Mark Bederow, a defense lawyer and former Manhattan prosecutor, described the sentence as “extraordinarily low” and highlighted that it deviates from standard sentencing guidelines.

The Manhattan DA’s office stated that the resolution was reached in consultation with the victim’s family to avoid the teenager testifying before a grand jury and during a trial. A spokesman added, “We expect the defendant to remain detained and be deported following sentencing, due to the felony conviction.”

Jennifer Harrison, founder of Victims Rights NY, condemned the plea deal, saying, “Let’s not pretend this sentence reflects real justice. It doesn’t. It sends a dangerous message that even the most horrific crimes against children won’t be met with the full weight of the law.”

The National Pulse reported in August 2025 that Contreras-Suarez had entered the United States illegally in March 2023 but was subsequently paroled into the interior of the country by the former Biden government. After initially being apprehended at the San Ysidro Port of Entry in California, Contreras-Suarez was released into the country. Following this release, authorities say he was involved in several criminal incidents in Medford, Massachusetts, where charges were filed for armed robbery, prostitution, and assault with a deadly weapon.

TikTok Returning to Government Phones as Federal Ban Lifted.

Following ByteDance’s divestment to U.S. investors, the Trump administration has reversed a ban on TikTok for federal devices.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: The White House has lifted its ban on TikTok for federal devices.
📺 DETAIL: Back in 2022, the Biden government implemented a ban on TikTok for federal devices over fears of Chinese data collection. ByteDance, the Chinese technology company that created the app, agreed to divest in September 2025 to U.S. investors. The divestment prompted the Department of Justice (DOJ) to reassess its stance. The DOJ ultimately concluded that the app’s U.S. version was no longer subject to the ban. “TikTok is no longer a ‘covered application’ for purposes of the No TikTok on Government Devices Act,” reads a memo from Russell Vought, Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), released on Tuesday. Following the lifting of the ban, multiple federal agencies launched accounts on the app, although there are still bans on TikTok across aspects of the wider federal government, including both chambers of Congress. Several state governments also maintain a ban on the app being downloaded and used on state devices.
🎯 IMPACT: Despite the lifting of the ban, the app remains under scrutiny for its impact on younger users. For example, in Pennsylvania, a lawsuit alleging that the platform promotes harmful and addictive content to minors continues to be pursued. “TikTok has built its empire based on a model of addictiveness at all costs, and expanded that empire using deception about what sort of content is viewable for kids… This is not an indictment against modern technology, or a scolding assessment of social media as a whole – rather, this is an action to hold accountable a company that values dollars over mental wellness,” said Pennsylvania’s Attorney General Dave Sunday.
📺 FLASHBACK: In January 2026, it was reported that ByteDance had sold off a majority stake in its U.S. operations to non-Chinese investors. The divestment deal was secured by President Donald J. Trump after a law was passed in 2024 forcing ByteDance to divest or face a U.S. ban.

Former SPLC Director Heidi Beirich Arrested on Fraud and Money Laundering Charges.

Heidi Beirich, a former high-ranking official at the Southern Poverty Law Center, faces multiple charges for alleged fraudulent activities involving payments to informants, including personal financial benefits.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: Heidi Beirich, formerly Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and director of the Intelligence Project at the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), has been arrested and charged with fraud conspiracy, bank fraud, and conspiracy to conceal money laundering. She is accused of funneling over $1 million to a neo-Nazi group informant and misusing donor funds for personal expenses.
📺 DETAIL: Beirich, identified as “Employee-2” in court documents, allegedly directed payments to a joint account she shared with an informant connected to the neo-Nazi National Alliance. The funds, originating from SPLC donors, were used to cover personal expenses, including housing. Previous reports have suggested that at least one informant was also her lover. Additionally, Beirich is accused of orchestrating payments to another informant to cover up a burglary at the SPLC’s headquarters, which she later wrote about in a 2015 article. The SPLC itself was previously indicted on similar charges, including wire fraud and money laundering, earlier this year.
💬 KEY QUOTE: “I believe she was part of the effort to open bank accounts in completely fictitious companies’ names and make payments to individuals for reasons that were not accurate as described.” – Attorney General Todd Blanche
🎯 IMPACT: The charges against Beirich spotlight the broader allegations of financial misconduct against the SPLC, raising questions about the misuse of donor funds and the organization’s operational integrity. Beirich’s case is likely to further erode public trust in the once-prominent civil rights group.
📺 FLASHBACK: The SPLC has faced scrutiny for years over allegations of financial mismanagement and questionable practices, such as paying extremist groups for supposed informant work, even allegedly funding cross-burnings. Significantly, these same groups and activities provide the SPLC with its primary purpose for existing, with critics arguing they have a financial interest in manufacturing and signal-boosting extremism, where it would otherwise not exist or remain marginal.

DATA: Boat Migrant Crossings Have Accelerated Under New UK PM Andy Burnham.

New data has revealed that more migrants have illegally crossed the English Channel during Prime Minister Andy Burnham’s first weeks in office compared to former Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer’s early tenure.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: British Prime Minister Andy Burnham has overseen more illegal Channel crossings in his first three weeks in office than his predecessor Sir Keir Starmer.
📺 DETAIL: Prime Minister Burnham has already presided over 3,003 illegal Channel crossings in his first 22 days as Prime Minister, averaging 130 arrivals per day. This is a higher rate than former Prime Minister Starmer, who presided over an average of 103 arrivals per day during his first three weeks in office. In contrast, former Conservative (Tory) Prime Ministers Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak saw averages of 58 per day and 82 per day, respectively, during the early weeks of their premierships. The increase in crossings has been attributed to the emergence of “mega-dinghies,” which are vessels carrying hundreds of migrants at a time. On Monday, it was revealed that one such mega-dinghy was carrying a record-breaking 230 illegal migrants. “It’s no longer a small boats crisis – it’s a big boat invasion. These mega-dinghies are frankly scary and they’ll only get bigger. The Tories failed abysmally but somehow things have got even worse under Burnham. He doesn’t have a plan and the country still doesn’t have a border,” an ex-Home Office source said.
💬 KEY QUOTE: “Andy Burnham has a worse small boat record than Keir Starmer, Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak in the first 22 days of their premiership, yet this morning he literally failed to commit to ending the small boat crisis by the next General Election. Britain is owed a Prime Minister who will actually put an end to this crisis and pull the plug on the incentives driving migrants across the Channel – not another feeble politician making excuses for why they cannot. Under a Reform UK Government, our border will be impenetrable.” – Zia Yusuf, Shadow Home Secretary for Nigel Farage’s Reform UK party
🎯 IMPACT: This data suggests that Burnham’s approach to the ongoing border crisis is even more lax than Starmer’s, which was widely criticized as ineffective. This data reflects a warning from Reform UK leader Nigel Farage earlier this year that a Burnham premiership would result in a loss of control at the border. The data also reveals how the crisis has evolved, from a high number of small boats carrying comparatively smaller groups of illegal migrants to mega-dinghies carrying large numbers of migrants all at once.

Only 30% of New Yorkers Support Mamdani’s Democratic Socialists.

A new poll has revealed the significant opposition to the far-left Democratic Socialists of America in New York State, with support for the organization largely concentrated among young, low-income voters in New York City.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: Roughly half of New Yorkers are opposed to the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), according to a new poll, while less than a third positively support it.
📰 DETAIL: A Siena University poll released on Wednesday revealed that 47 percent of New Yorkers hold an unfavorable view of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), a far-left political organization taking over the Democrats from within. The poll also revealed that only 30 percent of New Yorkers view the DSA favorably, and 23 percent are unsure. Support for the DSA in New York is concentrated in New York City, where 49 percent have a favorable view of the organization. The uptick in support coincides with the rise to prominence and subsequent election of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, who is a DSA member. In contrast, only 16 percent of suburban voters have a favorable view of the DSA. Similarly, only 27 percent of voters in upstate New York support the organization. The poll also revealed that 71 percent of Jewish New Yorkers have a negative view of the DSA. Support for the DSA skews towards younger voters on lower incomes. However, among Democrats in the state, roughly half view the DSA favorably, compared to 21 percent who oppose the organization and 29 percent who are unsure. Independents have a broadly negative view of the DSA, with 57 percent opposed and only around one-quarter expressing a positive view.
🎯 IMPACT: The polls show that while the DSA has support among young voters in urban areas, it is viewed negatively by other demographics. As such, it will prove much harder for the DSA to make electoral breakthroughs outside of urban areas with younger populations. The negative reception of the DSA among Independents further raises questions about its viability as a state-wide organization. This poll reflects similar data reported last month which showed that one in three Democrats regard themselves as Democratic Socialists and that support for Democratic Socialism skews towards younger voters without college degrees on lower incomes.

Nigel Farage and Deputy Sue ‘British FBI’ Over Alleged Bank Leaks.

Reform UK leader Nigel Farage and deputy leader Richard Tice are taking legal action against Britain’s National Crime Agency for allegedly leaking their bank transaction details to the media.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: Reform UK party leader Nigel Farage and deputy leader Richard Tice are suing the National Crime Agency (NCA), Britain’s equivalent of the FBI, over alleged leaks of their confidential financial information, with Tice accusing the agency of committing “multiple criminal offenses.”
📰 DETAIL: Tice said that private bank statements, transfers, and details of conversations with bank managers were leaked to the media. The allegations follow reports that payments involving Tice’s company Britain Means Business and Reform-linked figures were flagged to the NCA, which does not itself indicate criminal wrongdoing but has been used by figures hostile to Reform to create an appearance of impropriety. Tice previously asked the NCA to investigate whether it was responsible for the leaks, but he believes the agency’s internal probe is “playing for time.” Reform said claims had been filed at the High Court. The NCA has said that its Professional Standards Unit is investigating complaints from Tice and Farage, and that the inquiry remains ongoing.
💬 KEY QUOTE: “They have had plenty of time to conclude their investigation into this and they are now stalling for time. We have had enough.” – Richard Tice
🎯 IMPACT: The lawsuit could pressure the NCA to expedite its investigation and potentially reveal the source of the alleged leaks. The case raises serious concerns over the handling of politicians’ private financial information by partisan actors within law enforcement agencies.

Trump’s ‘Birth Tourism’ Task Force Has Revoked 600 Visas in One Month.

The State Department’s task force on birth tourism has revoked hundreds of visas, aligning with Trump administration efforts to curb abuses of U.S. citizenship laws.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that the State Department task force on “birth tourism” has already revoked over 600 visas on Wednesday. The task force targeted visa holders involved in networks exploiting U.S. citizenship laws by orchestrating schemes for foreign nationals to give birth in America, conferring automatic “birthright” citizenship on their children.
📺 DETAIL: The task force has been reviewing visa activity, dismantling illegal birth tourism rings, and seeking to address fraudulent practices like document forging and coaching foreigners to exploit immigration laws. Rubio highlighted the operation as a critical step in ending the “heinous abuse” of America’s lax citizenship laws. His announcement coincides with President Donald J. Trump’s recent executive orders attempting to restrict birthright citizenship and stop birth tourism.
💬 KEY QUOTE: “American citizenship is not for sale. But elaborate birth tourism rings are profiting off the exploitation of America’s laws- coaching foreigners to defraud the U.S. visa system, arranging travel and housing, and even forging documents, all to enable foreign nationals to obtain citizenship for their children. The State Department established a Birth Tourism Prevention Task Force to review the activity of visa holders, dismantle illegal birth tourism networks, and put an end to this heinous abuse of our nation’s laws,” said Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
🎯 IMPACT: The crackdown aims to address systemic abuse of U.S. immigration laws and reinforce the Trump administration’s broader efforts to restrict birthright citizenship.
📺 FLASHBACK: In June, the Supreme Court struck down a Trump executive order attempting to reinterpret the 14th Amendment to deny citizenship to the children of illegal migrants. The recent executive orders aim to circumvent this ruling by refining definitions of eligibility for automatic citizenship.

Nigel Farage Honors ‘Extraordinary’ Ann Widdecombe.

A memorial for Ann Widdecombe, a former Conservative lawmaker and Reform UK immigration and justice spokeswoman, is being held in Devon, England, on Wednesday, with Nigel Farage and other Reform leaders paying their respects to the legendary politician.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: Reform UK party leader Nigel Farage honored former Conservative Member of Parliament (MP) and government minister turned Reform UK spokeswoman Ann Widdecombe ahead of her funeral service on Wednesday. She is believed to have been murdered in a politically motivated terror attack.
📺 DETAIL: The Reform leader paid tribute to Widdecombe as an “extraordinary woman.” The requiem Mass took place at Buckfast Abbey in Devon, England. As a committed Roman Catholic, Widdecombe regularly worshipped at the abbey. A public memorial for Widdecombe is planned for later this year. Other Reform politicians also paid tribute to their party’s former justice spokeswoman. Deputy Leader Richard Tice said: “We will treasure our memories with you and never forget your life and legacy.” Reform Shadow Education Secretary Suella Braverman said: “A warrior. A patriot. An inspiration. May her memory be a blessing.” Sarah Pochin, Reform MP for Runcorn and Helsby, said: “Her warmth, kindness and friendship meant so much to so many, and she will never be forgotten. May she rest in peace.” “Ann was a woman of profound faith, a faith which found expression in the public forum of politics. Ann was unafraid to express her unwavering convictions, formed through her Roman Catholic faith. She had a sharp intellect and was a dedicated public servant,” read a statement from the abbey. Widdecombe served as a Conservative MP and later as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) for the Brexit Party, now Reform UK. She was most recently Reform’s immigration and justice spokeswoman, before her apparent murder at her home in Haytor, Devon, in July.
💬 KEY QUOTE:Today is the day we remember Ann Widdecombe. Ann was an extraordinary woman who left a serious mark on British politics. She will be sorely missed. Rest in peace, Ann.” – Nigel Farage on X (formerly Twitter).
🎯 IMPACT: Widdecombe’s funeral takes place as the investigation into her death continues. Joshua Kerry, a 28-year-old man from Rotherham, northern England, has been charged with her murder. Kerry is alleged to have far-left, anti-Reform beliefs. Kerry allegedly struck Widdecombe 21 times in the head with a hammer as she was having lunch. Counter Terror Police are also examining a potential link between the murder of Widdecombe and an attempted firebomb attack against Farage’s home, as per reporting earlier this week.

Far-Left Francesca Hong Suffers Shock Defeat in Dem Primary.

David Crowley’s projected primary win over Francesca Hong marks a significant shift in Wisconsin’s Democratic race, setting up a key November battle with Republican Tom Tiffany.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: David Crowley is projected to have won Wisconsin’s Democrat gubernatorial primary, defeating Assemblywoman Francesca Hong in a closely contested race and ending a string of recent victories by the party’s far left. Crowley, a Milwaukee County executive, will face Republican Representative Tom Tiffany, who easily won his party’s nomination and has the backing of President Donald J. Trump, in November’s general election.
📺 DETAIL: Hong, a member of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), had sought to become Wisconsin’s first DSA governor, and was given a 95.5 percent chance of victory by Kalshi. However, she faced scrutiny over past social-media posts attacking traditional American holidays, including Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Independence Day. She previously called to “Cancel Thanksgiving,” describing it as celebrating colonialism, and objected to Christmas-themed imagery in the workplace. Hong’s campaign manager said she was “proud of the race we ran.” The result came as progressives scored a major victory in neighboring Minnesota, where Peggy Flanagan won the Democratic Senate nomination over more centrist Rep. Angie Craig. Crowley’s victory follows far-left Abdul El-Sayed’s Democratic Senate primary win in Michigan last week, and comes as progressive candidates have been supplanting the Democrat establishment in primaries across the country.
🎯 IMPACT: Crowley’s win sets up a significant general election against Tom Tiffany, in what is expected to be a closely watched and competitive race. Crowley had briefly suspended his campaign before re-entering with Governor Tony Evers’s support. He has said that his priorities include making life more affordable, strengthening schools, creating jobs, and expanding opportunity.

Inflation Cools for Second Month in a Row.

Inflation has cooled for the second consecutive month since May, although rising energy costs triggered by the outbreak of the Iran war and related geopolitical tensions continue to pose economic challenges.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: Inflation has eased for the second consecutive month since May, according to a new Consumer Price Index (CPI) report.
📺 DETAIL: According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, inflation rose at an annual rate of 3.4 percent in July. This represents a decline from May, which saw inflation hit a three-year high at 4.2 percent. This was primarily due to the rise in oil prices resulting from the outbreak of the Iran war in late February. According to the Consumer Price Index (CPI), which tracks the average cost of basic goods and services, core CPI, which excludes food and energy, also slowed to 2.5 percent, down from 2.6 percent in June. Energy prices in July increased 14.7 percent compared to last year. This spike was mostly driven by rising gas prices, which increased by 24.6 percent. Nevertheless, gas prices in July were approximately ten cents cheaper than the month prior. July’s average gas price was $4.06 per gallon, significantly higher than the $3 per gallon average in February. Brent crude oil prices surged above $100 per barrel in July, although they have started to gradually decline.
🎯 IMPACT: The Federal Reserve’s next interest rate decision in September will likely hinge on this inflation data. The Federal Reserve is also likely to consider August’s CPI report when it makes its decision. If trends continue, there is reason to believe inflation could return to the Federal Reserve’s two percent target by next year, assuming energy prices continue to stabilize. This builds on a trend first reported last month, which showed that inflation had slowed throughout June. The CPI fell 0.4 percent, its sharpest monthly decline since April 2020. This was primarily caused by a 5.7 percent drop in energy costs, including a 9.7 percent decline in gas prices. As such, this story demonstrates the importance of bringing down gas prices to lowering the overall cost of living in the United States, which is inseparable from stability in the Middle East and passage through the Strait of Hormuz. Approximately 20 percent of the world’s oil exports pass through the strait, making it a vital chokepoint in international trade.

FBI Targeted Biden Critics as ‘Russian Disinformation Conduits’ in Secret 2020 Operation.

Declassified documents reveal the FBI targeted critics of the Biden family as “Russian disinformation conduits” in a secret operation during the 2020 election, raising concerns about the political weaponization of intelligence agencies.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: Newly declassified documents reveal that during the 2020 election, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and intelligence agencies labeled prominent conservatives, journalists, and even Trump administration officials as “Russian disinformation conduits” while dismissing allegations of Biden family corruption as foreign propaganda. This operation, codenamed “Round River,” targeted figures investigating Hunter Biden’s ties to Burisma and broader Ukrainian corruption concerns.
📺 DETAIL: The operation, initiated by the FBI’s Foreign Influence Task Force, categorized individuals like Attorney General Bill Barr, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and Republican lawmakers as disinformation threats while portraying Democrats such as Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, and Barack Obama as victims of Russian interference. This effort included altering informant files to discredit evidence of Biden family corruption and providing “defensive briefings” to Congress that downplayed foreign threats involving the Bidens. The FBI’s actions mirrored tactics used in the discredited Crossfire Hurricane probe against President Donald J. Trump.
🎯 IMPACT: The revelations raise significant concerns about the political weaponization of intelligence agencies, with critics arguing that the FBI’s actions undermined legitimate investigations into corruption while shielding the Biden family from scrutiny. The operation also aligned with liberal media narratives that dismissed the Burisma allegations as conspiracy theories.
💬 KEY QUOTE: “We remain concerned that defensive briefings to Congress may have been overly focused on just Biden and Ukraine rather than the balanced picture of all foreign threats.” – FBI Director Kash Patel
📺 FLASHBACK: Similar tactics were employed during the Crossfire Hurricane probe, where unverified claims of Russian collusion were used to undermine Trump’s 2016 campaign, despite later findings debunking the allegations.
