‘Listless Vessels’ Insult Sends DeSantis Camp into Tailspin.

Ron DeSantis insulted supporters of former President Donald J. Trump as “listless vessels,” in an interview aired this weekend, with MAGA-world comparing the jab to Hillary Clinton’s “basket of deplorables” moment and seizing on the comments to highlight the Florida Governor’s marriage of convenience-only with America First politics.

DeSantis told interviewer Will Witt:

“The movement has got to be about what are you trying to achieve on behalf of the American people and that’s got to be based in principle, because if you’re not rooted in principle, if all we are is listless vessels that’s just supposed to follow… whatever happens to come down the pike on Truth Social every morning, that’s not going to be a durable movement.”

Karoline Leavitt, a spokeswoman for Make American Great Again Inc., responded: “To Hillary Clinton, Trump supporters are ‘deplorables.’ To Ron DeSantis, they are ‘listless vessels’…The truth is, Trump supporters are patriots. DeSantis must immediately apologize for his disgraceful insult.”

DeSantis is not alone in expressing his disdain for Trump supporters, which represent up to 70 percent of the Republican base today. Matt Wells, chairman of the Florida Governor’s Never Back Down PAC, attacked the American South and Southerners as “degenerates” in comments made last week. The Governor distanced himself from his own online operation, directed by open borders enthusiast Christina Pushaw, which routinely seeks to attack Trump supporters on social media.

A Colombian illegal immigrant, released into the United States under the former Biden regime, has been apprehended by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) after attempting to join the Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist group. The arrest was part of a broader operation targeting illegal aliens in the Boston area, according to officials.

The 35-year-old man entered the U.S. illegally via Lukeville, Arizona, on July 14, 2024. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) initially detained him due to a lack of valid documentation, placing him in removal proceedings. However, he was later released into the country’s interior.

In May 2025, ICE was informed by the Department of Justice (DOJ) that the individual had been in contact with a social media account reportedly facilitating travel and combat training for ISIS recruits. The account had requested videos of the man pledging allegiance to the terrorist organization.

On May 22, 2025, ICE and the FBI arrested the suspect in the Boston area during “Operation Patriot,” a larger initiative that resulted in nearly 1,500 arrests. An ICE spokesman commented on the case, stating, “This Colombian alien entered the country illegally and was released under the Biden administration. He went on to engage with an ISIS recruiter.”

This development follows the recent apprehension of a suspected al-Qaeda member in Philadelphia. This Tajikistan-born Russian citizen entered the U.S. in 2023 and was similarly released into the country. More recently, an Egyptian illegal alien was involved in a firebombing attack against a pro-Israel demonstration in Colorado.

Former Border Patrol Chief Aaron Heitke previously testified about a surge in “significant interest aliens” (SIAs)—individuals with potential terrorism ties—entering the U.S. under the Biden regime. Heitke revealed that the San Diego sector saw SIA arrests skyrocket from an annual average of 10-15 to over 100 in 2022, with even higher numbers in subsequent years. He also alleged that the administration barred him from publicly discussing the issue.

Concerns have been raised about the administration’s policies, with Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard reporting earlier this year that hundreds of individuals with ties to terrorist organizations had been paroled into the U.S.

A federal appeals court has ruled that President Donald J. Trump can ban the Associated Press (AP) from White House access. On Friday, the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit handed down an order staying a lower court ruling that had ordered President Trump to restore press access to the AP, stating: “The White House is likely to succeed on the merits because these restricted presidential spaces are not First Amendment fora opened for private speech and discussion.”

“The White House therefore retains discretion to determine, including on the basis of viewpoint, which journalists will be admitted,” Circuit Court Justices Neomi Rao and Gregory Katsas write, adding: “Moreover, without a stay, the government will suffer irreparable harm because the injunction impinges on the President’s independence and control over his private workspaces.”

The ruling follows a Federal District Court decision in April to issue an injunction against the Trump White House’s ban on the AP. District Court Judge Trevor McFadden, at the time, determined that the ban was “contrary to the First Amendment” and ruled that the Trump White House must “put the AP on an equal playing field as similarly situated outlets, despite the AP’s use of disfavored terminology.” The AP was initially banned from the White House over the publication’s refusal to use the official government term, the “Gulf of America,” instead of the “Gulf of Mexico.”

Friday’s decision marks a significant legal win in the ongoing lawfare efforts by the Democratic Party and allied organizations to undermine President Trump and his agenda. A Chicago man has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and other crimes following the fatal shooting of two Israeli Embassy staff members outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C. Elias Rodriguez, 30, is accused of targeting Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Lynn Milgrim, a young couple employed by the Israeli Embassy, as they left an event.

Authorities say Rodriguez approached a group of four people outside the museum before opening fire with a 9mm handgun, striking Lischinsky and Milgrim multiple times. According to charging documents, Rodriguez allegedly fired additional rounds at Milgrim after she attempted to sit up. Lischinsky was pronounced dead at the scene, while Milgrim succumbed to her injuries shortly after being transported by emergency services.

The shooting is being investigated as a hate crime and an act of terrorism. U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro stated during a press briefing, “This is a horrific crime, and these crimes are not going to be tolerated by me and my office.”

Rodriguez, who allegedly declared his actions were “for Palestine” and “for Gaza,” was apprehended at the scene after surrendering to law enforcement. He reportedly purchased a ticket to the museum event hours before the attack and had flown to Washington, D.C., from Chicago on May 20 with the firearm in checked luggage.

Court documents indicate Rodriguez legally purchased the handgun in Illinois in March 2020. Investigators recovered 21 spent shell casings, a firearm magazine, and the gun used in the attack.

Rodriguez appeared in court on Thursday, where he was informed of the potential penalties if convicted, including life imprisonment or the death penalty. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 18, and Rodriguez remains in custody.

Last month, it was revealed that Rodriquez’s father was invited by Congressman Jesús ‘Chuy’ García (D-IL) to attend President Donald J. Trump‘s Congressional address on March 4. Eric Rodriguez was hailed as an “outspoken advocate against attacks on veterans’ services and the rights of unionized federal employees.”

The Harvard Law Review is facing multiple federal investigations over allegations of racial discrimination and actions that could amount to witness intimidation. Despite being under a federal document retention order as part of a Department of Justice (DOJ) investigation, the law journal allegedly retaliated against a student editor who leaked files to the Washington Free Beaconand demanded that the documents be destroyed.

Notably, the Harvard Law Review faces numerous allegations of discriminatory behavior in its selection of editors and other staff. Internal memos and messages show that the law journal emphasized race and other diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) factors in the selection process, leading to discriminatory practices against white applicants. Consequently, the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) launched formal investigations into the publication.

After receiving notice of the investigations, the Harvard Law Review was ordered to retain all documents and other relevant materials. The U.S. economy added 139,000 jobs in May, according to the Department of Labor‘s latest report, while the unemployment rate remained unchanged at 4.2 percent. Economists had anticipated 125,000 new jobs, making the actual figure a modest improvement over expectations.

Federal government employment saw a notable decline, with 22,000 fewer jobs in May. This drop contributes to a total reduction of 59,000 federal positions since January, aligning with President Donald J. Trump’s ongoing efforts to reduce the size of government.

The private sector added 140,000 jobs, surpassing the forecasted 120,000. Within this sector, the services industry recorded a significant gain of 145,000 jobs. However, the goods-producing segment of the economy contracted by 5,000 positions, including an 8,000-job decline in manufacturing. A revision to April’s manufacturing numbers, however, showed a gain of 5,000 jobs instead of the previously reported loss of 1,000 jobs.

The labor force participation rate dipped slightly to 62.4 percent in May from 62.6 percent in April, reflecting a minor contraction in workforce engagement.

Average hourly earnings increased by 0.4 percent in May, doubling the rate of April’s growth and exceeding economists’ expectations. Over the last year, wages have risen by 3.9 percent, outpacing inflation and signaling stronger purchasing power for workers.

Revisions to previous months’ job numbers revealed a downward adjustment of 65,000 jobs for March (to 120,000) and 30,000 for April (to 147,000). Combined, these revisions indicate 95,000 fewer jobs than initially reported for the two-month period.

Over the past year, the U.S. economy has averaged 149,000 new jobs per month, reflecting a steady pace of employment growth.
